There beyond their eyes was the leader of the "Dark Mist" children, Koi. He held Anika in his arms as she was slowly disappeared. Comforting her in her last moments. Even giving her a kiss on the lips as a truly parting gift.

"Rest dear Anika....You have helped me to the very end. For that you have my eternal gratitude. My you finally sleep in the heavens as you long too. I will see you soon my beloved" Those were the last words Anika heard as she nearly disappeared completely.

"Bye Koi....I...love...you" Anika words were faint as her soul left this world.

"I loved you too, Anika. I love you even more than you possibly know. Now before I can join you" His eyes turned serious. "I need to educate oir heroes on how to treat a lady" Two shadows came from behind Koi.

One was Lianpumon who jumped around merrily around Koi. Acting like he ate alot of sugar sweets from the festivals he is known to be at. Multi masks in the inside of his cape were unlike  a usual Lianpumon since two of the masks were human. One that had severe burn damage that would crumble if one were to touch it. The other looked souless with no eyes. A ghaustly color that made ut look like it was ready to jump out at them. The very face that Koi used against Hiro after the defeat of Moon.

"Lianpumon....The mask wear..." Mei seemed familiar with the digimon.

She once encountered on her own personal adventure with Shiramon. They heard of children going missing at night, only to return the next morning as if they never left at all.

They  decided to stake out the kid who was most likely the next target. The culprit had a conspect of targeting kids who were overworking themselves or stressed from their school responsibilities. There a figure with a strange mask that took the child into a forest of an ancient temple. The figure had made a festival for those kids to have a merry time without worries. Other child digimons were there too. Enjoying themselves too. Heck, Shiramon even joined in on the fun. The Lianpumon at the time had good intentions.
Mei just asked thst Lianpumon not take the children everyday. Only on weekends once in a while.He had happily agreed. Even offering Mei to join his next festival. Mei accepted. That was the only day she acted like a kid her age.

Though now she was facing a Lianpumon that was partnered with her enemy. She had to not be reminded of her friend and conceal her heart in a veil of darkness.

The other digimon that was Koi partner was Zubamon. The very one that came to Symbareangoramon aid in the fight with Musyamon. He had the scar to prove that he was the very same.

"Oh if it isn't the bunny samurai. I sense that you have grown stronger since last we saw each other. Keeping your human partner safe now. We aren't fighting as allies anymore. You hurt my friends. Now you have anger me" Zubamon glared then looked at Shiramon. "I sense that she is dear to you" He walked overto Shiramon.

"LEAVE MY WIFE ALONE!!" Angoramon grabbed him. He wouldn't let a weapon dare lay fingers on precious Shiramon! NO ONE CAN TOUCH HER!!

"Wife? Hmm, ah I see now. She is that precious to you huh? Koi, may I handle these two? It would be an honor to hurt the very one who used me, only to betray me later on"  Zubamon turned to his partner, bowing before him. Awaiting for his approval.

Koi paused for a moment before answering. He understood where Zubamon was coming from. This was a digimon that aid him in getting revenge against Musyamon. One who wield his blade to fulfill that desire. Possibly to be one of the few worthy individuals that could ever wield him.

Only to be trusted and backstabbed. Angoramon was an ally to the digimon who killed Moon. A back stab while his guard was down. Quite dishonorable. Ot left a foul taste in Zubamon mouth. One he wanted to wash out by seeking revenge for his fallen comrades. On the other hand, Zubamon was known to allow his emotions to cloud his judgement. Then again, he wanted to avenge Moon too. Who was he to rob his partner of that?

"Very well" He touched Zubamon forehead which  made the golden digimon glow.

"Zubamon digivolve to.....ZubaEagermon!" Just by that one touch, Zubamon entered his champion form.

"Ruli. Evoultion time" Angoramon was prepared.

The sooner they handled ZubaEagermon then the faster they could help Shiramon and Gammamon.  He won't admit that it will be easy. He was still indebted to Zubamon for helping him defeat Musyamon. Not to mention that he was one of the "Legendary Arms" weapons. It was a fight against a legendary blade. This would not be an easy fight.

"Angoramon digivolve to....Symbareangoramon!"

"Breaking Stream!" Ruli called out the attack.

The stream of air lauched towards ZubaEagermon who sliced it in half almost as if it were nothing. This would indeed be a hard fight.

Leaving the others to face their corrupted partners and the mysterious Koi.

Gammamon then charged towards Hiro and was ready to kill him but a "Bi Bi Thunder" from Jellymon had temporarily paralyzed him.

Shiramon had more luck tacking on Mei. Jellymon thunder didn't seem to have any effect against her.

The poison claws dug deep into Mei shoulder. as she was pinned down to the floor. Mei could feel the burning pain of the poison entering her system. How it was burning in her bloodstream, attacking her cells till they were destroyed. Along with the poison, Mei had to dodge Shiramon attempts to bit her head off. If Shiramon didn't have her tail stabbing her legs then she would have tried to kick Shiramon off.

"Hoshi san!" Kiyo got worried then turned to Jellymon "Jellymon sama! Please let us a hand"

"Sure! They are really making me super duper mad now! Plus we owe Shiramon and Mei" Jellymon agreed. For the sake of their friends, she would go all out to save them.

"Jellymon digivolve to....Teslajellymon!"

"Again!" Kiyo VR bracelet filled up the meter again.

"Teslajellymon digivolves to....Thetismon!"

Now they could deal with the poisoin that was now coursing in Mei  system. Though they also needed to get those collars off of Gammamon and Shiramon. Hopefully Thetismon could do that.

"Biri Smasher!" Thetismon hit Shiramon off Mei then teleported her away with "Adieu World" to a safe distance.

Shiramon welped before quickly shaking it off.

"Shiramon please snap out of it! Please recognize me! It's me, Mei! You're my partner! No, my best friend and my family! Please wake up!" Mei got up to her feet, struggling to keep herself up.

Thetismon began to treat the poison in her. It was a fast acting poison but she manage to create an antidote. Mei would be fine now but due to the poison, she wouldn't be at full strength for a few hours at best.

Not that it would matter. The main priority that was on Mei Hoshi was breaking Shiramon free and then punching Koi in the face hard. Shiramon always there to help others, even if it meant endangering her own safety to do so. Now it was Mei turn to repay the favors for all the times Shiramon aided her.

"Help Hiro.....I got Shiramon" Mei looked at Kiyo with a look that told him to trust her.

Kiyo hestitated but nodded. "You better careful" He insisted.

Mei smiled. "Trouble follows us anyways but I will try" Before she went to confront Shiramon.

Shiramon circled around Mei a few times as she waited for the right moment to strike. Licking her overgrown fangs as she eyes Mei for her next meal. Not concerned that the girl before her is her partner. It seemed that it was more than her appearance, her mind was also altered by Anika.

"Shira...." Mei was even more determined to get Shiramon back.

Hiro had his hands full with dodging Gammamon attacks. If not attempts to bite his head off, then it was just barely dodging Gammamon new tail. He began to wonder if Anika somehow brought out Gulus rage to overtake Gammamon. Throwing all the rage and frustration that Gulus had towards him. All than anger that he had been building up till this moment, that very anger was being unleashed in that moment. Worse part is that he is that anger target.

"Gammamon....." Hiro was at a lost for words. What could he say if Gammamon would bother to listen.

"Grrrrrr!!!!!" Hiro snapped out of his thoughts just in time to dodge a tail stab to the face.

Seems like the paralysis worn off.

"Gammamon stop it! It's me, your big brother. Hiro! Please stop!! I love you my precious little brother! Free yourself from whatever Anika has done to you! You told me that you get power from me right?" His VR bracelet glew a bright light. "Allow me to give you the very power to be free!"

Gammamon could feel Hiro power flare up within him. The light was slowly purifying the virus with in him. Not all of it. The antidote that Blues had made would still need to be applied to Gammamon. Though the light was clearing his mind from the feral mindset that was casted upon it. The rage inside him slowly dissipated. His eyes cleared from the dark irises with the flaring neon purple orbs, back to the golden yellow ones that were full of so much joy and merryment.

"H-hiro....." Gammamon was still struggling. The collar kept urging his mind to destroy the boy before him. The child digimon could barely hold himself back.

"Gammamon...." Hiro was relieved that he got through to him. Now he had to get that accursed collar off and give him that antidote.

Thetismon held Gammamon down. She had witnessed the whole thing. Amazed that Hiro strong feelings for Gammamon were able to break the hold over his mind.

If it had been her, would Kiyoshiro be able to free her? It seems like their partners were not simply humans that they needed protection. They were indeed vaubled partners. They helped them whenever they are in danger. Like how they were willingly to risk their lives to save them from the "Moaning Bug" incident. How her "Darling" despite his cowardly personality always stayed by her side to help her. How Ruli was willing to become a card to help Hiro, and get Angoramon back. Throughout all dangers that digimon put them through, the children never gave up or left them. They had grown together and overcome numberous challenges. Those very bonds were powerful enough to overcome even the most powerful darkness and evil.

"Thetismon sama, destroy the collar! That way Amanokawa can give Gammamon the antidote!"Kiyo instructed.

Thetismon nodded and shattered the collar.

Gammamon fell into Hiro arms. Hiro used this chance to give Gammamon the antidote. He pour the antidote into Gammamon mouth to dispel the rest of the virus. Gammamon eyes when dull for a moment before they returned full of life. All the chances that Anika did to him were erased like they were never there to begin with. Gammamon eyes opened and tears appeared in them.

"Hiro....I...I..." Hiro hugged him tightly before Gammamon could finished that.

"Shh...Shhh.." Hiro comforted him.

He was not mad at him. He could never be upset with his "precious little brother". This was not his fault. Hiro failed to notice the threat beforehand. The virus was targeting  "Virus" type digimon. Blues had informed him about Gammamon in his free time. Gammamon should have kept under closer eyes. Hiro was responsible for Gammamon safety, he was careless in thinking that no danger would come from this virus. How foolish he was to that Gammamon behavior change was not a big deal. A mistake that he didn't attend to ever made again. NEVER AGAIN.

"All that matters to me is that you are back" He wiped away Gammamon tears. A few appeared in his own eyes.

Gammamon just hugged back. Sobbing a bit. Happy that he didn't hurt Hiro. He already hurt so many. Lost two great friends. One was Bokomon who Sealdramon had killed just for points. The very first time that he became Gulusgammamon. How that loss had triggered him to unlock the "Jet Black Champion" that lied dormant within his code. He could never remember whenever Gulusgammamon took over. Though he remembered the emotions. The rage, the sorrow. The mere mentioning of "Gulus" always scared Angoramon and Jellymon.

Sure Gulus wasn't bad. He only came out whenever Gammamon or Hiro were in situations that nearly destroyed them.

The second was Piximon. The time and dimension traveling fairy digimon. He had sent Ruli and Hiro to the past for their VR bracelets. Why he wanted them was still unclear. Though after seeing Gammamon in the future, he was completely amazed. Dead set on becoming Gammamon best friend. Now thanks to the "Dark Mist" that infected him. He was a digitama for hurting Hiro. Gulus showed him no mercy at all for the fairy.

Now he had nearly hurt Hiro. Something he never wanted to do ever again.

"Gammamon let's help Mei wake up Shiramon" Hiro smiled which Gammamon matched.

"I wanna free Shiramon too!" Gammamon smiled.

"DON'T WORRY ABOUT SHIRAMON!" Mei looked at them with a serious face. "I can handle her. You should focus on Koi!" Mei dodged another attempt from Shiramon to poison her again.

"You sur-" Hiro got Mei traditional "DON'T ARGUE WITH ME, TROUBLE MAGNET" look.

Though for once she soften her gaze. It seemed like she had become much gentler. For once she was sparing him from the usual cold with no chance of mercy glare. It was as if she was asking him to trust her through her eyes.

Hiro and Mei shared a glance for a moment then his frown became a small smile. "I trust you Hoshi san"

Mei nodded before focusing back on Shiramon. Time to get serious.
Shiramon snarled as she kept trying to land a hit with either her new poisonous claws or her catcus sharp tail.

"I know you're in pain.You always try to keep that pain within yourself till it found out. That is the one thing that is both annoying and selfless about you. Though it's also the one quality that makes you a dear friend. Shiramon, you helped me through my darkest hour. The moments were I nearly lost myself to the darkest. All those times that you became my rock through all. I was wasn't able to through the pain that HE put you throught. How I was powerless in the Wrath Sin Arc. You keep putting yourself in danger so no one gets hurt. Trying to be the shield that everyone can rely on. Yet you are vulnerable to your own pain. Pain that you shouldn't have to bear alone. I want to be a better partner to you. A better friend to you and the friends we made. You been my moral support from the moment you swore to walk the same path with me" Mei digivice illuminated with a blinding light. Tears fell from her eyes. "I am not giving up on you Shiramon! YOU ARE MY PRECIOUS PARTNER THAT I REFUSE TO LOSE AGAIN! I VOW TO NEVER LOSE SOMEONE THIS DEAR TO ME EVER AGAIN!!"

The light purified Shiramon mind. Alliwing her to break free from the poison that Anika planted in there.

"M...Mei...." Shiramon struggled to speak as she was battling the urge to hurt Mei again.

"Hold still!" Mei grabbed the collar around her neck. Crushing it with her raw strength alone.

Her hands were brutally damaged as a result. Pain pulsating through them with each twitch. Mummymon would have her head for this. Though he probably be a bit more merciful once he learned why she injured herself in the first place. She then poured the antidote in Shiramon mouth in a single swift motion.

Shiramon alterations disappeared as the virus was purged from her body. She fell to her knees before looking at Mei.

"Mei...i'm....i'm..." Shiramon looked ready to cry. How could she put Mei  through such pain again.

"SHIRAMON!" To Shiramon surprise, Mei hugged her. A rare sign of affection that Mei rarely shows.

Especially in front of others.

"M-Mei?!" Never before had Shiramon witness this side of Mei before. She could feel Mei shaking with a sob.

Mei had lowered the defenses of her heart. Cracking more at the cold wall around her heart to show that caring girl that she was deep down.

"I will never lose what's dear to me again....My heart can't bare anymore lose. Shiramon, you are my precious digimon that has become family to me. The greatest partner I could ever ask for. You helped me through so much so no matter what comes our way" Mei held Shiramon paw and looked at her straight in the visor. "Lets start anew as we continue down this path together! Shiramon, I now ask you this. Will you continue to walk down this path together?" Mei repeated the very same question that was the start of their partnership from the moment they met.

Shiramon eyes widen at that question. It had become their sacred vow to each other. That single saying mean more than anyone could ever know. The vow that they help one another through painful moment and suffering. Being there for one another no matter what. Helping one another grow and move past their troubled pasts. Though now it was slightly different. The vow now meant they they would overcome not just past challenges but also new challenges through their new found out teamwork. A new partnership had blossomed from their last fight. One that will be the strongest than ever before.

Shiramon looked at Mei with admiration and glee. Finally Mei was growing away from that cold distance person like she prayed that she would. She wore the biggest smile she had ever been seen with. She took Mei hand and stood beside her.

"Always!" Shiramon smiled, her tail wagging like an excited puppy.

Now that their partners were back. They could finally deal with Koi.

Ruli and Angoramon had their hands full dealing with ZubaEagermon. No matter what attacks they three at him. The weapon digimon would just slice through like he was a hot knife cutting through butter.

"He is really tough..." Ruli felt back into a corner. ZubaEagermon really was a tough opponent, possibly the most skilled that they faced so far.

Symbareangoramon was barely able to defend, let alone land a decent attack. He was struggling to dodge the attacks that were send his way. It seemed like champion couldn't match his power. This was a job for Lamortmon!

Ruli VR bracelet filled up again.

"Symbareangoramon digivolve to.....Lamortmon!!"

Lamortmon let out a monstrous roar before charging towards ZubaEagermon. His blades ready.

"Going into your ultimate form I see. Interesting. If only you had achieved this during your clash with Musyamon. Then perhaps you would not have required my assistance that day" ZubaEagermon was not alerted. He seemed happy that his opponent had bevome stronger.

Nothing was more thrilling than facing an opponent at full strength after all.

"Defeat ZubaEagermon! Defeat ZubaEagermon!" Lamort kept remembering that sentence. The only way that he knew how to keep his sanity.

"You cling so dearly to your sanity despite becoming a feral beast man now. How dear it is to you. Losing it will make you lose all that is precious to you. I understand that. It's how Moon was before Gulus killed him and Cutemon!!"  ZubaEagermon roared out before he went to confront Lamortmon.

Ruli heard the attack in her head. Lamortmon was trusting her to call out that attack to finally defeat ZubaEagermon. Ruli took a deep breath before calling out the attack in her mind.

"Kohabatto!"Lamortmon wasted no time unleashing deadly slashes towards ZubaEagermon direction.

"Vantheon!" ZubaEagermon curled up into a ball before spining towards Lamortmon. Ready to slice him into several hundred pieces with his tail blade.

A test between blades. One a living weapon while the other duels with his trusty longswords. Only one can win. The question of the matter was who shall be the victor of the the battle.

The two attacks clashed. Both waiting to see who had raken the most damaged to one another. Lamortmon fell to his knees. ZubaEagermon attack had made direct contact  with his side. Lamortmon clutched it as he whimpered in pain. ZubaEagermon smirked as he was ready to turn around to claim victory. Just then he felt a sharp pain throughout his body. He was becoming data bits before his very eyes. He had lost...

"Heh....I admit defeat...Truly a skilled Swordsman you are. You were worthy of wielding me. I hope in my next life that we may do battle again soon. Though this time, on the same side. At least I had the honor to battle you one last time.... Bye Koi....I hope we can be free together..." Those were ZubaEagermon last words before he became a digitama.

"......" Koi numeral digits became a dangerous red and the "Dark Mist"  had went to danger hazardous black. His eyes appeared to be socketless and red slits wete inside of them. "You killes him! YOU KILLED MY FRIEND!!!"

Lianpumon didn't move. They seem to share Koi fury in a silent way.

The room shook and the walls became distorted like they were entering a virtual reality of a kind of digital space. Kou was using one of his powers. To make is own digital space by using his "Dark Mist". The walls were pure black spires with red codes written on them. The walls were crumbled with shattered digitamas shells scattered around. Chains of pure black chono digizoid were dangling from the walls. Ten pairs for the ten "Dark Mist" children. It seems like the human world version of the lab was a mask that was concealing the true prison of N.E.S.T labs.

"You really do sicken me. Here I thought you lot were different from the governments that gathered to make their own personal digimon defense team. Seems like I was sorely mistaken. You had the nerve to harm my beloved Anika who simply got your attention. True the virus may have been a touch of overdramatic. She always knows how to get me to see her genius. Then Amanokawa, you're lack of control over Gulus let Moon die in such a gruesome way. While his back was turned no doubt! NOW YOU DELETE MY DEAR PARTNER ALL BECAUSE HE WANTED VENGEANCE TO HONOR OUR FALLEN FRIEND!" Koi outburst moved throughout the room.

The gang just flinched. They began to think that they eere in a game that just reached the final boss.

"Koi, why did you sent the "Dark Mist" to us? Is it because we have digimon partnerd?" Mei asked, being the only one brave enough to speak.

It didn't help that Kiyo and Ruli were clinging onto her arms like two scaredy cat toddlers.

It was similar to that time that Gammamon found a spellbook  that belonged to a Mistymon. He though it was a book that Hiro got him to help improve his reading level. He accidently read the spell that turns kids into toddlers. It turns digimon in rookie level back to intraining, and kids to toddlers. Mei was uneffected since she went on a snack run. Hiro had made her go due to her losing rock paper scissor shoot. Meaning that she had to not only find the translation for the reverse spell, and to take care of four extra intraining digimon. Not to mention three toddlers who feared her since they didn't recognize her at those ages.

Mei praised her luck that their detective friend lost the footage. Otherwise she would have their blood on her hands.

"Simple. You all seem to understand that not everything about digimon is all sweet and caring as the past "Digi Destined" claimed them to be. You all know the horrors that come and are caused by digimon first hand. However unlike our governments, you all prefer peacefully resolutions other then deleting them. I thought you four along with your detective friend could finally be the ones to reveal the horrors that we endured. I their final subject. The last one that they would ever craft after that. I personally made sure of that. Using the forth power that the "Dark Mist" had granted me. The ability to destroy one reality and replace it with a virtual one. Sadly, that meant we all would die too"  Koi explained. His cold eyes never left them. Freezing their souls with a fearful gaze.

"F-forth?" Kiyo asked shakingly. Using Mei presence to ccomfort him. Giving him strength.

"Yes. I was given four powers from the "Dark Mist" The forth one you have seen it right before your eyes. I can make my very own digital space. All at the cost of destroying the realty in the area first. Lifes and surroundings are destroyed from the reality. My third one is to spread the "Dark Mist" within my blood. I was modify to have more than the others. I would estimate about the amount equal to one hundred full grown men. I can spread to digimon who are in desperate need to fullfill something or a strong negative emotions. There I given them some "Dark Mist"  to help them achieve their goals. Only side effect is forcing them to be dead set on their goals and make they slightly more agitated. My second power allows me to give a fellow "Dark Mist"  a gift of their choosing. Nothing too overpower. An ability that is within reason and that may aid them. Not that I can really use it anymore now, can I? You freed most of my friends after all. My first ability is one that is one I can only perform with my dear partner Lianpumon" Koi turn to Lianpumon.

Lianpumon jumped and carwheeled around Koi in a happy gleeful way. Making the merry digimon laughter seems more sinister. Must be something deadly.

"How did this all happen to you and the others?" Hiro asked, holding Gammamon protectingly in his arms.

"Ah. The question that I bet you all are dying to know"Koi chuckled darkly. Holding his head back in mad laughter before finally answering. "During the time where the "Digi Destinies" were traveling around the world to destroy "Control Spires", at the same time where they meeting with the other "Digi Destinies" around the world as well. The sightings of digimon got the attention of government officials. Who are these creatures? How are mere children able to use them in battle? Can they be used to their advantage? All those questions lead to the creation of us "Dark Mist" children.  All because the the heroes of the past allowed their digimon to be seen. The tests to make us an unstoppable force was torture. To think my family discarded me after my passing. To be killed from a piece of rumble that pinned me down for days. Calling out for help. Pleading for assistance. Only to be met with sorrowful silence. Then to open my eyes to the lights of the labs" He sighs. "All this was caused my heroes that allowed their secret out"

"Seems like we were right" Mei recalled her meeting with their detective friend. How after several discussions, they had come to the same conclusion.

"Well since you did free my friends. I shall allow you all to have a painless death. Take this as my gift of gratitude. When I destroyed N.E.S.T labs, I accidently prevent us from getting peace. That peace was required to move on to the starry heavens. That why I made it my mission to help my friends. To free their spirits so that they may finally gain freedom. Discovering that the only way was to find humans with digimon partners who could relate to our pain. After generations of waiting, I finally found you all" Koi and Lianpumon became surrounded in the darkest source of "Dark Mist" in his entire being.

Lianpumon body began to biomerge with Koi. Both bodies became digital with codes interacting and merging together as one single being. Not like the biomerges done in Digimon history. This was different then those ones. It was like A transformation where Lianpumon body coated over Koi body. His long black cape wrapped around Koi body before it became a black suit with  with a golden rim collar. Black and red clawed gloves on his hands. The black mist spiraling around his body with numberal codes fluxing in and out of his skin. A red cape coded with white and black codes appeared as devil's wings on his back. His eyes were now like ones painted on Lianpumon mask, only the eyes were red with meancing pupils. A true final boss before them.

"Think you can handle the leader? Can you free me like you did the others? Shall you fail like the many others before you? Can you tame the hatred that has been burning deep within our hearts?" He asks in a merry yet sinister tone.

Similar like a villainous joker of a certain universe.

The others watched in a sense of horror.  This was not like anything that they had faced before. A fusion like transformstion of human spirit and digimon. Not to mention that he held a power that ability still excluded them. If they aren't careful then this could be their final battle.

"Darling....what do we do?" Thetismon asked, looking to Kiyoshiro for answers. Fear could be heard in her voice.

One one the fee times she allow her fear to be known in public in front of the others.

"Integer...overflo-" Just as Kiyoshiro was ready to faint from the situation before them. Mei spoke up.

"We all want to finish this. To free these children spirit. To share their story with the world! This is the final obstacle we must face! I REFUSE TO DIE HERE! I REFUSE TO LOSE ANYONE WHO IS DEAR TO ME ! SHIRAMON AND I WILL BE PARTNERS THAT WILL HOLD A BETTER RELATIONSHIP! THIS BATTLE WILL BE THE STARTING POINT OF THAT!" Mei refused to allow this to be the end. Not when she had come this far with her friends.

Not to mention that she never let's a mystery or case go unsolved. It's against her code. A certain detective rubbed off on her a bit. They still owe her a few hundred favors.

"MeiMei is right! We come too far for this to be the end!" Ruli agreed before paling. "S-Sorry Mei, I know you hate nicknames"

Mei looked at her before smiling. " MeiMei isn't my favorite" She laughed a bit

Their jaws all dropped. Mei didn't deny the nickame and even laughed.

Kiyoshiro shook off the shock. "Well it would be wrong of me not to fight alongside with my underclass men Beside I did give my word to help reveal their secret!"  Finally the confidence that he hain throughout all the digimon ordeals was finally beginning to show.

They all faced Hiro. Their leader of the group as they awaited his answer. All facing him with looks that told that "They were ready to help him throughout the whole thing". Each had his back. Ready to offer him support in these final battle.

Hiro looked at them. Sharing a glance at them all before facing Koi. "LET'S GO EVERYONE!"

Gammamon and Shiramon digivolve twice to their ultimate forms. Canoweissmon and Bayolamon.  All four ultimates had gathered once final time for the last battle.

Koi smiled as he summoned his true first power. Masks appeared, each taking shape of heir partner's ultimate. They were facing each other mirror forms. Though they weren't as frail as the mask that they wore. They could hit back as hard as the original they were based on.

Each digimon fought their respected dopplerganger clone. Having trouble while doing so. Lamortmon and Thetismon especially. They were almost at their limits and would return to their  champion forms soon. That meant that they had to wrap the battle up and stop Koi before that happened.

Canoweissmon and Bayolamon weren't fairing any better either. The virus hadn't been fully cleased from their bodies. Both were still fatigued from the amount of stress put on them. Fighting their mirror selves only tired them out even more.

Mei could see this. It pained her to see Shiramon tired. How hurt she must feel after what the virus nearly made her do. Hearing what the governments around the world thought it was a good idea to make kids into soldiers by witnessing "Digi Destinies" of the past. It was all too similar to what Shiramon and her siblibgs had endured by HIM and the Sin arcs. Yet even with all the pain and guilt she feels, that never stops Shiramon from helping others.

Neither will that be the case for Mei.

Then Mei VR bracelet filled up the meter three times which lead to a new power awaking in Shiramon.

"Bayolamon digivolve to.......Rythimon!"

There a K pop humanoid wolf took the stage before the others. The other three looked at the first one of them to reach mega level since the Sin arcs. She looked back at Mei with a wide toothy smile.

"Mei, your compassion and how deeply you  want to keep the others safe has motivated me. It fills my heart with the powerful music of K POP! Now let us beat this boy with the healing powers of music!" Rythimon filled the eoom with musical notes that hit her friends.

Those musical notes, healed them and restored their energies. Even gave them more time on the meters of their VR bracelets.

"Thanks Rythimon!" Thetismon smiled. Grateful to her friend for the help.

"No problem! Now let's get this show on the road!" The room echoed with uproars with K POP style music.

Mei nodded. She may not be a fan of K POP but her partner did. So no matter what, she would bury her hatred of the music and support her partner.

"Maknae!" Mei called out the attack as Rythimon attacked the mirror copies punches and kicks in a dance like fashion as she sings popular K POP songs.

That attack alone had enough power to shatter the mirror copies. Surprising Koi in the process.

"Impossible!" Koi snarled

"IS A WORD THAT THE TWO OF US DON'T RECOGNIZE!!" Both Rythimon and Mei said in unison.

"EnOuGh!!!!!!!!"Koi voice distorted as he summons thousands of masks of various digimon. All glowing with a powerful aura. All ready to fire at them.

"Everyone! Time for our finale!" With that the attack echoed through the four children heads.

The four looked towards Koi and shouted the attack out loud with ever fiber of their being. "FACTION COMEBACK!!!"

Rythimon channeled all her energy into musical notes that not only embraced her but the three ultimates as well. The lyric notes infusing them with the raw power of Rythimon strong music. Allow them to break through the masks and finally strike Koi in one unify final attack.

Koi chuckled as his body began to glitch in and out. "At least we are all free now....." He saw a bright light withball his friends in there.

Reaching their hands out to welcome him there. He gladly accepted.

At long last "Dark Mist" was finally over.  The children could now rest in peace at long last. The heroes had a certain detective and their mentor pull a few strings to reveal N.E.S.T dark crimes to light. Having the children's stories come to life.

No more farm labs would ever make children like this ever again. Team Lirurun made sure of it.
