All the digimon were standing under the bridge together.

Biyomon: Was it really okay? Leaving Izzy's office without asking...

Labramon: Sky is really going to be mad when she finds out...

Palmon: Mimi said to never come out...

Leomon: (mumbling) That's why we shouldn't have left in the first place. Out here we are open targets for the infection...

Agumon: We should have brought snacks.

Leomon sweat drops at the reptile digimon's statement.

Tentomon: Yeah, but I didn't want to interfere with Izzy.

Gomamon: Should we go back home?

Gabumon: That'd be better than hanging outside.

Gatomon: Right. It'll be a waste if we get infected by carelessly being out.

Patamon: Well...

All the digimon turned to the bat digimon.

Patamon was looking down at the ground sadly.

Gabumon: What?

Labramon: (confused) Do you have something to tell us?

Patamon: (sadly) Well, I...seems I'm infected

All the digimon: (surprised) Huh?!

*later*

Palmon: Really, you are?

Patamon: Yeah

Agumon: What's it like, being infected?

Patamon shakes his head.

Patamon: Um, I'm not really sure.

Biyomon turns towards Labramon and Leomon.

Biyomon: Do you two remember.

Labramon placed a paw to his chin.

Labramon: No...one moment, I was yelling at Skylar to trust me...and then the next I remember waking up on the ground in a daze...it all felt like a dream to me...

Leomon: I just felt like I was under Devimon's control. I had no control of what I did. And...their was some part of me...that was thrilled at the thought of hurting someone...

Some of the digimon grimaced at the thought of this.

Gomamon looks back at Patamon.

Gomamon: Does T.K. know?

Patamon: Yeah, but he didn't tell anyone else. So keep it a secret!

Palmon: Shouldn't we tell everybody?

Patamon: Keep it quiet! Please!

Gatomon: No point being in Izzy's office, then. We should at least tell Izzy so he can think of something.

Leomon: But wouldn't he just get more worked up...he still can't find anything in my datat that is different.

Labramon nods sadly.

Labramon: I think this would just freak him out.

Tentomon: But...But it might be good.

Patamon: Please don't! I'm going somewhere else so I don't infect everyone.

Gabumon: Where's "somewhere"?!

Patamon hesitates

Biyomon: Adding to the worries will just trouble Sora.

Labramon: Sky just started to be her old self again...don't you think she will fall back into depression if you left...or if any of us go...

Palmon: Indeed...

Gatomon: But, if you really are infected...

Patamon: Please, if I am...Everyone...(he pauses) please take me down!

Palmon: No

Agumon: I won't do it

Leomon: You can't be serious.

Labramon: The infection can be cured. Look at Leomon and I.

Patamon turns to him.

Patamon: Do you know if the infection is truly gone?

Labramon hesitates. He didn't know what to say.

Patamon: You guys are all I have! I don't want anyone else to...No way.

Gabumon: Patamon...

The digimon turned to see Kari standing near them. Her whole body was glowing brightly.

Gatomon: Kari?

Maki ran up near the bridge and gasped at the sight in front of her.

Gatomon: Kari, what about school?!

Agumon: Ah, uh...we came outside for a lot of reasons!

Kari: Listen

Biyomon: Isn't something off with Kari?

Labramon: Maybe she did something to her hair...

Leomon: She doesn't sound the same

Palmon: Yeah

Gatomon: That's not Kari

Agumon: Who is it, then?!

Kari: I am...Puanamon. The one who desires salability. I borrowed this body to speak with you.

Maki: (shocked) Kari...

Kari: The digital world and the human world...are currently in grave danger. You know there are digimon...which are infected. They are disrupting the continuity of the quantized world.

Gomamon: Quantized?

Agumon: Continuity?

Labramon: Lady...I really don't understand what your saying...

Kari: The digital devices of the human world and the network borne from them developed...and as if intertwining with that, the digital world arose from the quantum sea. Every possible world has emerged in a multi-layered way...and the worlds quite similar yet different to one another lie side-by-side. If the "infected digimon" as you call them, destroy the quantized world, the digital world will likely cease to exist. Additionally, the human world will lose the benefit of electronics.

Tentomon: I don't get it, but...are you saying the world will be destroyed?

Kari: Yes, indeed. You will also perish along with the digital world

Biyomon: I don't want that!

Gabumon: Can't we prevent that!

Labramon: I can't lose Sky! She's my best friend!

Kari: There is only one way to avoid that fate. That is...

All the digimon: What is it?!

Kari: A great sacrifice. The next time Meicoomon appears...time will...stop.

Kari faints and falls towards the ground.

Gatomon: Kari!

Maki quickly ran over and caught her.

Biyomon: Maki?

Leomon: What are you doing here?

Maki: It's okay. she just blacked out.

Gatomon: It's not okay! What on Earth happened to Kari?!

Maki held Kari up and checked her over for wounds.

Maki: I'm not exactly sure, but...it seems like someone else borrowed her body to speak through her.

Gabumon: What did they mean by "a great sacrifice?!"

Maki: Probably...a reboot.

Gatomon: (confused) a reboot?

Agumon: Are reboots tasty?

Gatomon: Agumon! Be quiet a sec!

Maki: The digital world is one of the possible worlds...that exist side-by-side with ours. As long as our world remains, it's possible to start over. That's rebooting.

Patamon: Then...Then why haven't you done that?!

Maki: The reboot is the last resort

All the digimon: Last resort?

Maki turns to them

Maki: The quantum sea has created other worlds besides the digital world. The quantum sea is different from our world and any possible world. It is the primordial world. Carelessly rebooting could produce gaps in phases...causing the digital world to be engulfed in the quantum sea. But...

Gatomon: Are we out of time?

Maki: Yes. All the worlds will be destroyed if we just stand by and watch. So we'll reboot before we lose the chance.

Gabumon: If we reboot, will this world...Matt and everyone's world be okay?

Maki: If all traces of the infraction are totally gone from this world...it shouldn't affect anything here.

Gatomon: How do you know this?

Maki: Because I'm a high-level person at the bureau.

Leomon looked closely at her. He crossed his arms over his chest.

Gabumon: In short, a "great sacrifice" means that time turns back in the digital world?

Maki: Well...that sums it up.

Biyomon: How does a reboot occur?

Leomon: Will we be able to activate it by ourselves?

Maki shakes her head.

Maki: I don't know. Whether to invoke a reboot depends on...the will of homeostasis, who desires universal stability.

Gatomon: Homeostasis?

Labramon tilted his head.

Labramon: (confused) You mean the digimon who controlled Kari?

Maki: Probably the one who spoke using Kari's mouth. Would you get it, if I say it's the God of the digital world? The one who decides whether to reboot? Considering the situation now, the next time Meicoomon appears it may bring a reboot on.

All the digimon grew quiet.

Maki picks up Kari bridal style.

Maki: In any case, we can't leave her like this. I'll drive her to the hospital. What will you do?

Agumon: Ah! Let me get in!

Gatomon: Wait. Can we rely on you to take care of her?

Palmon looks towards Gatomon.

Palmon: What's wrong, Gatomon?

Gatomon to the other digimon

Gatomon: I have something to say.

(Izzy's office)

Izzy continued to type quickly.

He grabbed a bottle of oolong tea and noticed it was empty. Izzy gasped and stood up. He finally noticed the digimon were all gone.

(Bridge)

Biyomon: What do you have to say?

GAtomon: The reboot Maki mentioned...

Gomamon: We can save a lot of worlds with it, right?

Labramon nods quickly. A huge smile was across his face.

Labramon: We would definitely go down in the history books as heroes.

Gatomon: Do you get what it means if we rewind time in the digital world?

A few digimon: We don't get it.

Leomon sweat drops. He looked down at his feet, the lion digimon looked shocked at what Gatomon had just said.

Gatomon: We will be rebooted too, along with the digital world. Understand?

A few digimon: Nope

Gatomon: We'll lose all our memories up until now.

Palmon: Memories?

Agumon: Are those tasty?

Gatomon: Agumon, please hush a bit.

Gabumon: You mean we'll forget everything up till now?

Labramon eyes grew wide as realization starts to set in. The dog digimon slowly had tears started to appear in his eyes. His hands slowly moved to his shoulders as he started to shake.

Labramon: (crying) I...I can't ...I can't....I don't want to lose my memories...I can't forget Sky...

Gomamon slowly patted the dog digimon on the back.

Gomamon: Don't worry bud....we will find a way...

Gatomon: Indeed

A few of the digimon gasped.

Biyomon: Everything?!

Palmon: Then, I'll forget Mimi too?!

Biyomon: No way...

Palmon: I don't want that!

Patamon: Me neither. Being erased isn't scary but I definitely don't want to forget T.K.!

Gomamon: I'd hate that!

Tentomon: No one would be okay with that!

Gatomon bawled her fists

Gatomon: Losing memories would be tough. The scariest part is that we can't even realize we forgot our past.

Labramon still shook with fear.

Gabumon: Maki said...a reboot will probably occur if Meicoomon appears.

Agumon: So a reboot won't happen if we catch Meico?!

Labramon looked up with hope.

Labramon: Then we could stop the reboot!

Goamon: Yeah! We can definitely do it if we all try!

Palmon: And if we can't?

Gatomon: If we want...If we want to protect their world, (their friends faces flashed before their eyes smiling), we have to be prepared. That's how it is.

Biyomon: Prepared...

Some of the digimon looked down at the ground. Doubt still appeared on their faces.

Leomon: Stop being selfish!

The digimon looked towards the lion digimon.

Leomon: Our friends have done so much for us. And we have to repay them...even if we do lose our memories. At least they would know we are okay. Their would be a chance...that we would cross paths again. If it does come down to a reboot...we have to face it with our heads forward. We are doing this for them, to protect their world, and the people we care about. We have to spend the rest of our time with our friends, and make them the best moments with them...because it could be the last time we will be with them...

Gatomon nods.

Tentomon: Guys, don't give up hope. Izzy's doing his best.

Gabumon: But if he can't even find even a clue...

Tentomon: Surely he can do it. Izzy is desperate now. He's desperate...That's why!...

Data particles appeared in Tentomon's eyes.

Gabumon: (shocked) Tentomon!

Tentomon: Izzy can definitely do it.

Biyomon: But before that, if we all end up infected...

All the digimon grew quiet again.

Gatomon: (sighs) Someone should inform Bearmon and Cupimon...they should also know what is going to happen...

Labramon slowly raised his paw.

Labramon: I will...

(Hospital)

Kari and Maki stood outside together.

Maki: That's a relief. You're just a little anemic.

Kari: Um...what was I doing? I remember being in the school hallway, then I ended up in a hospital bed.

Maki: Not sure. I found you after you already collapsed. Maybe you're tired from all that's been happening recently? And, it's hot.

Kari: Yeah...

Maki: I'll take you home.

Kari holds up her hands

Kari: No, I'm already fine! And my bag is there, so I'll go back to school.

Maki: Right. Well, take care.

Maki waves and walks away.

Kari: Thank you very much!

(Bridge)

Maki was driving down the bridge road.

Maki: There's...no more time.

(Near middle school)

Kari was walking down the sidewalk.

Gatomon: Kari!

Kari turned her head to Gatomon's voice.

She saw the cat digimon hiding in the bushes.

Kari: Gatomon?!

The cat digimon jumped into her arms.

Kari: What's wrong?! You should be in Izzy's office.

Gatomon: It's okay.

Kari: It's okay?

Gatomon: Kari. Let's go shopping before going home!

Kari: And, you wanna make a stop? What's wrong?

Gatomon tilts her head. A frown crossed the cat's face.

Gatomon: We can't

Kari smiles

Kari: Sure, we can.

(Band room)

Matt was practicing with his guitar. He looked over at the door to see Gabumon standing outside.

Matt opens the door and Gabumon walks inside.

Matt: What're you doing outside?

Gabumon: Nothing much.

Matt starts to play his guitar again.

Gabumon: Matt. Please...play the harmonica.

Matt stops playing.

Matt: Harmonica?

Gabumon: (nods) Yeah.

Matt: What are you saying? I'm practicing now.

Gabumon looks down at the ground sadly.

Matt: Is something wrong?

Gabumon: Ah...no...sorry.

Matt: Gabumon?

Gabumon holds up his paws and shakes his head. A small smile crossed his face.

Gabumon: Don't worry. Please keep practicing.

Matt starts playing his guitar again. He stops and puts down his guitar.

Gabumon: What's wrong?

Matt goes into his bag.

Gabumon: Matt?

Matt grabs an object, and sits down in a chair.

Matt: I just want a little change of pace.

Matt starts to play his harmonica.

(Sora's apartment)

Sora is sitting down reading a book, while Biyomon sat next to her.

Sora looked up and noticed Biyomon was staring closely at her.

Sora: What?

Biyomon shakes her head.

Biyomon: Nothing. Hey...Sora. What's your dream for the future?

Sora: (confused) Why the sudden question?

Biyomon: I suddenly wanted to ask!

Sora: I'm too occupied with things now to think about the future. Like, worrying about Izzy's health.

Biyomon: I want to hear about you!

Sora waves her away.

Sora: Oh, I'll pass. Talking about the future at this age?

Biyomon: Talk about it!

Sora: Hmm, should I talk about it?

Biyomon: (nods) yeah!

Sora: Actually, I'll pass.

Biyomon: Jeez!

(Joe's apartment)

Gomamon: Why aren't you out with your girlfriend?

Joe blushes.

Joe: Sky told me that she was visiting Cassie's apartment. She wanted to make sure she was okay.

Gomamon: So is Sky also your partner?

Joe blushes again. He rubs the back of his neck.

Joe: Well, she might become my lifelong partner!

Gomamon smiles at him

Gomamon: Joe! What should I wear to your wedding? A suit?

Joe: You dummy, no need to be so stiff! Everyday clothes are fine.

Gomamon: Just for the record, there's one thing I want to ask.

Joe: What?

Gomamon: (teasing) Is she a real life person?

Joe: (annoyed) Watch your mouth...

(Cassie's apartment)

Cassie heard a knock on the door. She walked over to the front door with Cupimon in her arms and slowly opened the door.

She saw I was standing outside with Labramon in my arms. A huge grin was on my face.

Me: Hey Cassie! How are you?!

Cassie smiled slightly at me.

Cassie: I'm doing fine, how about you?

Me: I am doing fantastic. Can I come in?

Cassie nodded and open the door.

*later*

Cassie, Luna and I stood in the kitchen. The three of us were talking about the events last night. Meiko and their mother was out at the town shopping. The digimon were all in the living room talking quietly to themselves. I heard Cupimon tell a joke, which caused Bearmon and Labramon to burst into laughter. 

I smiled at them and slowly looked back at Cassie and Luna.  

Me: I'm glad the digimon are happy.

Luna nods to agree with me.

Luna: They shouldn't have to worry about the infection. (Sighing) Hopefully Izzy can find a cure soon.

Cassie eye's narrowed at the mention of Izzy. Luna frowned at this. She knew she must have messed up when she mentioned him.

Luna: Sorry.

Cassie shook her head.

Cassie: Don't worry, I'm not mad at you...I'm mad at him...

I smiled at Cassie.

Me: Cassie...I know you must really hate Izzy. But he truly cares about you. If you haven't realized it before, during some of the digimon attacks...he would always ask if you were okay first. (I rubbed the back of my neck) I know you don't want to see him...but he is really upset in not seeing you lately. Maybe you should try visiting him....

Cassie slowly look up at me. Uneasiness filled her eyes. She didn't know if she should listen to me.

*The digimon*

Bearmon: Luna is reading a lot more lately.

Cupimon: Well I would rather Cassie to be reading, instead of being mad at someone, I don't like when she is like this...

Labramon sighs sadly.

Bearmon: What's wrong Labramon?

Labramon: I'm going to tell you two something...and you guys are not going to like it...

Cupimon blinks and looks at Bearmon.

The bear digimon shrugged. The two digimon gave Labramon their full attention, and the dog digimon started to tell them what happen at the bridge.

(Mall)

Kari held Gatomon close to her as she walked around the mall.

Gatomon: Kari. Ice cream

Kari looks up and sees an ice cream store.

Kari: Wanna have some?

Gatomon nods.

Kari buys an ice cream and starts to eat it. She also shares it with Gatomon.

Gatomon: Kari!

Gatomon points to a photo booth.

Gatomon: Pictures!

Kari: Pictures?

Gatomon: Let's take some!

Kari: Why, all of a sudden?

Gatomon tilts her head.

Gatomon: We can't?

Kari: (smiles) We totally can.

Kari and Gatomon took pictures together. The two would make funny faces. As Kari walked away from the mall, Gatomon stared down at the pictures with a huge grin.

(Mimi's room)

Mimi sat on her bed next to Palmon.

Mimi: The girl next to me received pretty flowers. And she's been watering them, but they're fake! That was so funny!

Mimi started to chuckle.

Palmon remains quiet as she stared at Mimi.

Mimi: (confused) The story wasn't funny?

Palmon: It-it was! It tickled my funny bones!

Mimi: It hit mine too!

Palmon: So, what story?

Mimi: You're so funny! Nice, Palmon!

Palmon: Right...

(Park)

Jeremy was wearing his track suit as he ran down the sidewalk quickly. He was slowly breathing in and out.

Leomon ran by his side. The lion digimon was wearing his coat, boats, a hat, and a surgical mask.

A few people gave Leomon weird stares. But they continued running.

Jeremy gave it one more full on sprint and ran towards the pier. He stopped at the water's edge and took a slow breathe.

He grabbed a bottle from his backpack quickly and poured it on the back of his neck. He was trying to cool himself off.

Leomon looked at Jeremy as he was painting trying to catch his breathe from running ten miles.

Jeremy: Gosh...sometimes running can take a lot out of me.

Leomon chuckled at Jeremy's statement.

Leomon: And to think your on the track team. What made you decide to quit the football team anyways?

Jeremy grinned as he looked at his digimon partner.

Jeremy: Well I decided to be the oddball in my family. My family is always known to play football, but I enjoy running. (he shrug) When I run...(he starts to smile) I feel like I'm free, I have no worries in the world.

Leomon smiled at this.

Jeremy looked at the lion confused.

Jeremy: Why did you want to go on a run away way? Usually I like going on runs in the afternoon, when the sun is setting.

Leomon sweat drop. He scratch the back of his neck.

Leomon: I just wanted to hang out with you.

Jeremy: (teasing) I know how much of a cool person I am. That's probably why you broke the rules and left Izzy's office like the other digimon.

Leomon rolled his eyes.

Leomon: Right...

Jeremy: I have a great personality, I have to fight off girls with a stick.

Leomon face palm.

Leomon: Please don't make me regret this.

Jeremy: Don't worry, I have many more jokes.

Leomon sighs.

Leomon: I'm glad were friends Jeremy.

Jeremy raised an eyebrow.

Jeremy: Where is this coming from?

Leomon shrugged.

Leomon: I just wanted to let you know. I was glad that we became friends

Jeremy: Me too.

(Cassie's apartment)

Cupimon: What?!

Bearmon: That can't be true.

Cupimon: Aye!

Labramon looks down at the ground sadly.

Labramon: I wish I could tell you both that it was all a cruel joke...but...it's true...

Cupimon slowly looks at Cassie with tears starting to appear in her eyes.

Cupimon: I don't want to forget Cassie. She is my best friend...

Bearmon watch as their human friends in the kitchen were all unaware of their conversation, The three of them were laughing as Skylar were telling them a story about how her brother Todd accidently ticked off a chicken so much, that it chased him around the farm they were staying at.

Bearmon: Luna...won't like this...are you sure we shouldn't tell them?

Labramon shook his head.

Labramon: No! We should allow them to stay happy. We should allow their last memories with us to be remembered for a lime time...because as far as we know now...this might be the last time we see them...even though...we won't remember it...

Cupimon pouted.

Cupimon: I truly won't like this reboot...but if this is a way to protect Cassie...I will do it....

Cupimon slowly smiled as she noticed Cassie was grinning brightly as she joined Luna and Skylar in the conversation.

Cupimon grimaced as data particles appeared on her wings.

Bearmon and Labramon gasped at this sight.

Both of them: Cupimon!

Cupimon shook her head quickly and the particles faded away. She slowly held up a hand.

Cupimon: (whispering) I'm fine...

Labramon sighs and walks towards the kitchen.

I look up when I saw the dog digimon.

Me: Labramon everything okay?

The dog digimon nodded.

Labramon: Hey Sky?! would it be okay if we all watch a horror movie.

Cassie started to shake.

Cassie: (murmuring) A...A...horror...movie?

Luna slightly chuckled at her younger sister's reaction.

Luna: Cassie's scared of them.

I tilted my head.

Me: You...want to watch a horror movie.

I raised an eyebrow.

The dog smiled and nodded.

Labramon: Yep.

Me: But you hate horror movies. They always give you bad nightmares, and you keep me up all night.

Labramon shake his head.

Labramon: I just think that would make you happy! Why don't we watch Jurassic park! That isn't that scary of a movie.

I looked over at Cassie and Luna.

Cassie slowly put a hand over her heart.

Cassie: Well...dinosaurs aren't really that scary...definitely knowing that their extinct.

Luna patted her sister on the shoulder.

Luna: That's the spirit.

When the three of us sat on the couch and had the movie playing. Cupimon sat on top of Cassie's head, while Bearmon sat in front of Luna, Labramon was in my arms, the dog digimon was hugging me tightly as he watched the movie. I knew I should ask him what was wrong, but I kept quiet. I was just glad to hang out with my friends.

(Tai's apartment)

Tai is laying down on the floor reading a comic.

Agumon: Tai! Let's play soccer!

Tai: Soccer?

Agumon: And then, your favorite videogames! Then, let's go eat cheeseburgers and pizza!

Tai: Why, all of a sudden?

Agumon: Let's play! Hey, let's play!

Tai: Wait! You're asking so suddenly...

Agumon: Anywhere is fine! Let's just go out.

Tai: What's wrong, Agumon?

Agumon: Because...I wanna be with you...

Tai: Agumon?

Agumon started to frail his arms around.

Agumon: I'm okay! We can go tomorrow!

Tai: Agumon, you're acting weird.

Agumon: Weird? I'm not weird.

Tai:: You're weird.

Agumon: I'm not!

Tai picks up Agumon.

Tai: What're you hiding? Did you break something of mine?

Agumon: I-I didn't ...

Tai: Agumon...

Agumon's eyes started to glitch.

Tai gasped when he saw this.

Agumon: (worried) Tai...

(T.K.'s apartment)

T.K. sat at the edge of his bed. Patamon was in his arms, the bat digimon entire body was covered in data. The bat had his eyes closed tight.  The data slowly faded away and Patamon open his eyes and smiled at T.K.

(Tai's apartment)

Tai: A reboot?

Agumon: Don't tell everyone

Tai: That's...

Agumon: It's okay! We'll definitely stop Meicoomon!

(Band room)

Gabumon looked closely at Matt.

Gabumon: What are you thinking about?

Matt: I've never thought like that, but...I wonder if it'd change. Would it all because just a memory? All of it. And sooner or later...would my memories change too? Would I become an adult?

Gabumon: They won't change

Matt started to play his harmonica again.

(unknown location)

Professor: Yes, Meicoomon is still missing. I don't think it's back in the digital world. Yes, understand. We'll keep searching.

(Izzy's office)

Izzy: I see...this is what caused the PC errors. The root of the distortion.

Tentomon: Did you find anything out?

Izzy: Our world's digital devices...work in binary, or in other systems which are convertible to binary. But it was all overwritten into an unknown numeration system. So PC's all over the world are getting bugs. It's not binary, decimal or even hexadecimal. Digital data does not use this numeration system. That's the distortion!

A red blob was shown in a digital space.

Izzy: That's why you can see it with the goggles. I could have made a plan if I realized that sooner. No...if I don't know the base of the numbers...If I compare the converted data with the originals...but processing. The converted data might make my PC unusable.  And even If I know the base, how do I change them back...? Even my mechanically installed OS got overwritten!

Izzy slammed his hands on his desk.

Izzy: I can't do anything...I'm ignorant and incompetent...it's no use, staring at this stuff!

Izzy slammed his head against his keyboard, and a error message pop up.

Izzy: I'm ignorant! ignorant! I can't do anything if I'm ignorant.

Tentomon: And so you give it your all to achieve. Isn't that what you've been doing? Izzy, you probably haven't noticed, but...when you're doing research or learning something new, you truly look happy, like you're enjoying it. But you're different now. Seems rough.

Izzy: Of course! Think of our situation! Sorry...

Tentomon: I don't want to see you like this. It's painful.

Izzy: Tentomon...

Tentomon: There's only anything to do.

Izzy: A reboot?

Tentomon: We can't do that on our own. But if that's what it comes to...all of us digimon are prepared.

Izzy looked at his PC
