(Meiko stood outside a classroom, she looked uncertain if she wanted to walk in or not)

Mimi: (grabs her shoulder) MeiMei! I didn't know you were on the planning committee too.

Meiko: Well at my old school, I was on the planning committee there. So i decided to join here as well...

Mimi smiles, she holds onto her shoulder and pulls her inside the room.

Once inside the two saw me sitting in the third row.

Mimi:(shouting) Sky!

A few other students who were already in the classroom turn their heads to look at the two. A few of them gave her odd looks for shouting.

I turn my head to them, and waved them over to sit next to me.

The president of the club a teenage girl with short spiky red hair sweatdropped.

President: Can you please take a seat Mimi, and Meiko. The meeting is about to start.

Mimi nods and pulls Meiko to the table I sat at.

Mimi: I didn't know you like doing these types of things Sky.

I shrugged.

Me: Well now that baseball season is over, I thought I could join some type of club.

(Later)

The president of the committee stood in front of the classroom. Next to her was a boy who was on his laptop.

President: The school festival planning committee will run a temporary cafe to host our guests. Please refer to the materials we handed out with details of last year's cafe.

Mimi looks down at the paper with an uninterested stare.

I flipped the paper backwards. I look at the pictures of smiling faces as they served other students food.

A voice entered my head.

Evil Skylar: Don't they look like their having fun?

I gritted my teeth at the sound of her voice.

Can you just leave me alone?

Evil Skylar: But where is the fun in that?

I snapped to attention when the president continued talking.

President: And now, would anyone like to nominate themselves as person in charge?

Mimi threw her hand up in the air as she stood up.

Mimi: I would!

I smiled up at my friend. She would be perfect for the job. She had so many fantastic ideas, that would make this cafe better than it was last year.

The president looked shocked that Mimi volunteered. She looked around the room for anyone else.

President: If there's no one else...

Mimi stood up straighter. Everyone in the room looked at her.

Me: (cheers) Looks like Mimi is in charge.

Mimi nods and waves to the other classroom.

Mimi: Hello, as My friend Skylar Ruby just announced my name is Mimi, Mimi Tachawa. I am a freshman, class C. I want to make this cafe like "Daters!"

I sweatdropped. Daters was a type of resturant in America.

President: (confused) What is that?

Mimi: You don't know? It's popular in America. Isn't it Skylar.

Everyone turn their heads in my direction. I laughed uneasily.

A guy on the laptop next to the president started to type away.

Computer guy: I'll put it on the monitor.

An image of three girls were shown on the monitor. The girl's wore cheerleader outfits and each of them held a platter of food.

Mimi: That's it! Staff dress like cheerleaders and sometimes put on a dance show. It's so much fun! Eating there is a blast, so I'm sure it's fun to work there too. I want to make it a cafe where everyone is happy!

Random girl: I'd never...

Random girl 2: Me neither...

I turn towards them.

Me: Have any other better ideas.

The two girls shake their heads.

Me: Then let Mimi finish please.

Mimi: (nods) Don't worry! It'll make everyone happy!

President: (unsure) Well...if there are no other candidates or proposals...

Mimi cheered as she threw a fist in the air.

Mimi: Great! I'll do my very best. Thanks so much everyone!

The president sighed.

President: Okay next order of business. As we all know their are three special events for this years festival. Day one is pretty much filled with booths with fun little games, food, and our cafe. Day two is a olympics day where students can form teams to compete other teams to win a huge secret prize. And the final day is the mystic dance. The dance is a couples dance. Their is even going to be a band playing. Knife of day.

Mimi and I exchange looks. The two of us start to giggle.

Mimi and I: Knife of Ramen.

The president of the club gave us a slight annoyed look. The two of us grew quiet and she continued.

President: Supposably knife of ramen reports that their final act is going to have a secret singer. Their has been no reports of who this singer is going to. And it's our job as the planning committee to find out who they are. We have to make sure everything is planned out.

I raised my hand.

President: Yes Ruby? Do you know who the secret person is?

I shook my head.

Me: I just have a question. If this person wants to stay secret. Don't you think they just want it to be a surprise for everyone? When they come out on stage and start to sing in a huge crowd?

The president rolled her eyes.

President: Ruby your so immature...

My eyes narrowed at her cruel words.

President: You clearly don't understand how important it is for us all to find out who they are.

(City)

Mimi: This one's so cute.

Mimi stood in front of a mirror with a blue skirt held in her hands.

Mimi: I love it.

She then held a yellow shirt, with a pink skirt.

Meiko: Mimi, you're amazing.

I stood next to Meiko. The two of us were watching as Mimi looked around at the clothes in the store.

Mimi: Huh? How come?

Mimi and I looked at her.

Meiko: A freshaman volunteering, doing and saying as you please. I can't do any of that.

Mimi: How come? You should!

I nodded to agree with Mimi.

Me: You shouldn't let anyone push you around. You need to be able to invite who you are. Don't care about what others say.

Mimi: Exactly, like how Sky didn't pay attention to our president calling her immature.

I crossed my arms.

Me: Why do people always have to say that though...(mummbling) I'm only trying to have fun...

Mimi: (teasing) Well...

Me: Mimi...

Mimi: (chuckles) You know I'm only teasing.

Meiko coughs.

The two of us look back at her.

Meiko: (shyly) Most girls can't do what you two are talking about...

Mimi: Why?

Meiko: Well...

Mimi: Honestly I didn't like holding myself back for the sake of others. Being quiet in front of people means you're just complaing later. I detest it. When people have something to say they should just speak up. (Mimi smiles) Hey, how about this one?

Mimi holds up a really short pink skirt.

Meiko: Is it a belly warmer?

Mimi: It's a skirt. Meimei, try it on!

Meiko blushed.

Meiko: No! I mean, I...It's too short.

Mimi: That's the best part...

Palmon: I found Mimi!

Meicoomon: I found Mei!

Labramon: And I have found Sky!

Meicoomon was dressed up like a ninja, Labramon was dressed up like a samurai, and Palmon was dressed up as a Kiyoshi dancer.

Meicoomon jumped into Meiko's arms.

Meiko: Meico, why...?

Mimi: Palmon, you're late.

Meiko looked confused.

I smiled as Labramon hop into my arms.

Labramon: (wagging his tail) Sorry that we were late Sky. Traffic kills.

I smiled and shook my head.

Me: Don't worry buddy. I'm not mad-

I stopped talking as I noticed a small part of red data formed in the middle of Labramon's left eye for a breif moment. It spark for a second and faded away.

Labramon blinked and titlted his head in confusion.

Labramon: (confused) Everything okay Sky?

I chuckled and nodded.

Me: Just the trick of the light, I guess.

I turn back to Mimi and Meiko who were still talking.

Mimi: We made a date to meet here cause they wanted to eat french fries. Aren't their costumes perfect? Oh! And your sisters and their digimon are going to meet us there.

Palmon: I'm a Kiyoshi dancer!

Meicoomon: Fries! Fries!

Meiko: Meico, don't act spoiled.

I looked down at Labramon. The dog digimon looked just as excited as Meicoomon. But what was that thing I saw.

A memory of the red data appeared in my mind. Was that really a trick of the light? Or did it mean something else...?

(Table)

Mimi was drawling on a notebool as the digimon at their fries.

Meiko was talking to her sister Luna about her homework in science class.

While I just finished talking to Cassie about what happen at the planning committee meeting.

Cassie: (shaking her head) I can't believe she said that too you. That is completely and utterly wrong.

Me: It makes me sick that she thinks that she can boss people around and get away with it.

Cupimon: Aye!

Luna clapped her hands.

Luna: Remember you too. She is the president like it or not. Their is no changing it. If you want things to be different, why don't you run for planning committee president next year Skylar?

Luna meant to say it to be rude but a smile appeared on my face.

Me: That's a wonderful idea!

Mimi: (nods) Sky! You should totally try to become planning committee president. I would vote for you! I could be your vice president.

Cassie: I could make the posters.

I smiled at the two.

Me: Gosh the two of you are the best friends anyone could ever ask for.

Palmon looks down at what Mimi is drawling.

Palmon: What are you drawling?

Mimi: Costumes for the cafe.

Meiko: There's no budget, so we have to make them ourselves.

Me: At least it will give us a chance to be creative.

Bearmon: Why do I have a bad feeling about that?

Meiko looks down at Mimi's drawling.

Meicoomon: Are those worms?

Mimi: It's the cafe outfit!

Meicoomon: I'm sorry!

The cat digimon jumps into Meiko's arms.

Meicoomon: Mei!

Meiko: (Patting her on the head) It'll be okay.

Palmon: The early bird sits on the worm.

Mimi: Sits on?

Luna: (mummbling) You said that wrong...it gets the worm...

Palmon: Oh...

Meiko: (to Mimi) You want to make something like what we just looked at, right?

Mimi: (nods) Yeah.

Meiko got up from her chair and grabbed the notebook and pencil.

Meiko: Something like...(she holds up a picture of a cheerleader) this?

Me: Wow that picture is awesome.

Cassie: Meiko is a really good artist. (Giggling) All I know how to draw is stick figures.

Me: Me too.

Mimi: (excited) Whoa! A genius in our midst! Yes, that's it, exactly it!

Mimi hugs Meiko.

Mimi: You're incredible Meimei. Thanks!

Meicoomon: Hug me too.

Palmon: Me too.

Cupimon: Aye!

A sound of a helicopter is heard overhead.

Mimi: What's going on?

Luna grabbed her cell phone and looked down at a message.

Luna: (growling) Something tells me trouble...

All of our cell phones went off at once.

Mimi: It's from Izzy. An infected digimon has appeared.

Meiko: W...what should we do?

Mimi: It seems that it's close by. Let's all go. Palmon!

Palmon jumps into her arms.

Luna: Right behind you. Bearmon!

The bear digimon jump into her arms.

Cassie and I grab our digimon partners

Me: Let's get digital!

Cassie: What does that mean?

Cupimon: Don't ask me.

The four of us run in the direction the helicopter went.

Meiko starts to run after us. But stops to look back at Meicoomon. The cat digimon was still on the table.

Meiko: Meico.

Meicoomon: We're going to, right?

Mimi ran back.

Mimi: (rushed) Hurry up you two.

Meiko grabs Meicoomon and the four of us ran in the direction of the infected digimon.

(Streets)

Tai rode his bike down the sidewalk quickly.

Tai: I saw the email! I'm on my way!

Izzy: (on phone) I leave it to you guys. Agumon is waiting in the server. Find a nearby monitor you can use.

(School)

Joe stared down at his phone. The group message chat was open.

Izzy: (text) Tai, Mimi, Meico, Luna, Cassie, and Skylar are on their way.

Joe's heart skipped a beat when he saw Skylar's name appeared.

Why was she going to fight an infected digimon? Couldn't she get hurt...didn't he wanted to protect her.

He sighed and rubbed his arm. He didn't know what to believe anymore.

He looked towards the bridge. He puts his phone in his pocket. He then started to walk his bike.

(Helicopter)

A news reporter was reporting from the skies.

News reporter: Witnesses reported a mysterious space in the sky, like a distortion, out of which appeared an unidentified creature. Access to the area has been restricted.

My friends and I made it to the scene to see police officers blocking off the entrance to the park.

Woman: Those monsters are back.

Me: (thinking) Our digimon aren't monsters...

Woman 2: What are they? This is so scary.

Palmon: (sadly) Mimi...

Mimi: It's okay.

A loud roar is heard.

The four of us, including our digimon looked in the direction of the roar.

Luna: That digimon doesn't sound too friendly.

Cassie: We have to be careful.

Mimi: I want to know what was that.

The four of us raced to the right to get passed the officers who were distracted by the noise.

Mimi: Let's go see.

(Side walk)

Tai had stopped his bike to see a red data swarm was forming in the sky.

He was using his goggles to see the swarm form.

Matt pulled up next to Tai on his moped.

The two exchange looks and Tai gets on the back of the moped.

(Open feild)

The portal starts to grow bigger.

My friends and I ran into the open feild. The four of us held our digimon closely as we watched the portal grow in strength.

In a flash of red light Ogremon now stood in front of us. With his back turned to us.

Mimi and I: (disbelief) Ogremon?

The champion turned and roared loudly

Mimi: (shocked) He's infected.

Me: It can't be... our friend.

Ogremon pounced towards us.

Palmon: Mimi, watch out!

Cupimon: Cassie!

Our digimon push us out of the way.

Ogremon bone club struck the ground where we all once stood. A cloud of dust filled the air.

Mimi looked up when the dust faded away.

Ogremon towered over her with his bone club raised.

Me: (screaming) Mimi!

Meicoomon stopped him by jumping on top of his head and started to claw at him furiously

Ogremon roared in pain.

Mimi ran towards Meiko who was laying on the ground.

Mimi: Meiko! Come this way!

I grabbed Cassie's shoulder.

Me: We should get out of the way as well.

Cassie: Your right!

Luna: Everyone to the woods.

The four of us ran to the woods.

Meicoomon was still clawing at the Ogre's face.

Labramon: (shouting) Come on Meicoomon! You got this!

Ogremon grabbed Meicoomon and growled at her.

He then threw the cat digimon towards were all of us were hiding.

Meicoomon: Mei!

Meico grabbed the cat digimon.

Meiko: Meico.

Meicoomon: Mei.

Meiko: Meiko. Thank you.

All of us: Thanks.

Mimi's phone buzz. She picked up her phone.

Mimi: Izzy. It's Ogremon.

Izzy: (on phone) I saw from here. Tai and the others will be there soon, so just hold tight. Please keep Cassie safe okay...(rushing to continue) and the others too.

Mimi: Don't worry. Leave it to us.

Izzy: What? Mimi!

Mimi: Later.

She hangs up.

Palmon: Mimi, you plan to fight Ogremon?

I frowned at this. Labramon looked ready to fight. The dog digimon bawled his fists as I held him close to my chest.

Mimi: No, just push him back into the distortion. Even infected, it's still Ogremon, right?

Palmon: (nods) Right.

Cassie: Don't worry. Cupimon and I will help too.

Luna: (shocked) Cassie don't volunter for stuff like this.

Cassie: I can fight for myself! I'm not a little girl anymore!

Luna's eyes grew wide. She looked like she just got slapped across the face.

Meiko: (shyly) But he told us to hold tight...

Mimi: It'll be fine. And the live broadcast means lots of people are watching. We'll make it perfectly clear there are good digimon too.

Mimi grabbed Palmon and started running.

Cassie quickly grabbed Cupimon and chased after her.

Luna: (dumbfounded) Cassie!

Bearmon hop into Luna's arms. And the older sister sprinted after her younger sister.

Meiko: No don't go!

Mimi: Ogremon!

Ogremon roared.

Mimi and Cassie stopped running. The two girls stood side by side. Palmon stood in front of them, while Cupimon sat on top of Cassie's head ready to take flight.

Mimi: I'm sorry. I promise it won't hurt.

Mimi and Cassie pulled out their digivices out of their pockets. The two made determined faces as they held them up.

Mimi's digivice begins to glow brghtly and her digivice screen reads evolution. Another bright glow emerges from the blue digivice. White pieces spiral down towards Palmon.

Palmon: Palmon digivovle too...

The white pieces form an egg around Palmon, engulfing her inside the digivoultion egg. The digivoultion egg flouts upwards and begins to glow brighter and turn bigger. A body figure of a cactus digimon appears. The numbers 0 1 2 are on the cactus digimon's body in different patterns. A gold ring flies down towards the plant digimon and the designs of the digimon appear. The plant digimon had a green plant like skin with neddles sticking out on her body, arms and legs. The cactus also had red boxing gloves on.

Togemon: Togemon!

Cupimon flew off Cassie's head.

Cupimon: My turn!

Cassie's digivice begins to glow brghtly and her digivice screen reads evolution. Another bright glow emerges from the blue digivice. White pieces spiral down towards Cupimon.

Cupimon: Cupimon digivovle too...

The white pieces form an egg around Cupimon, engulfing her inside the digivoultion egg. The digivoultion egg flouts upwards and begins to glow brighter and turn bigger. A body figure of a swan digimon appears. The numbers 0 1 2 are on the swan digimon's body in different patterns. A gold ring flies down towards the bird digimon and the designs of the digimon appear. The swan digimon has white feathers with the color light blue-gray on the tips of its wings and wears a silver color chest plate necklace around her neck.

Swanmon: Swanmon!

Labramon turn his body to look right at me.

Labramon: Okay time to fight. Let's go Sky!

I shook my head.

Me: (sadly) No....

I held the dog digimon close to my chest.

Labramon: No?

Me: I won't let you get hurt...

Labramon: But I have to help my friends. They could get hurt.

The dog digimon started to struggle to get out of my arms.

Labramon: I have to protect you Sky. Trust me. Just let me go. (Crying) Trust me.

Me: Labramon! Stop acting immature!

Suddenly red data appeared on the dog's back.

Labramon: (static like voice) I said let me go!

When Labramon turn to look back at me. I screamed. His eyes had no pupils, they were pure white irises. Foam started to appear from his mouth, and his fangs seem sharpen.

The dog Digimon held up it's sharp yellow claws and brought them down. I closed my eyes just before the claws made contact with my right arm. The claws dug into my soft skin. Blood flew into the air as his claws dug deeper.

I sobbed out in pain. The pain seem unbearable. But just as quick as it started. It stopped.

Labramon blinked and without thought. Removed his claws from my right arm. The dog fell out of my arm and landed on the ground in a daze.

I look down at my arm to see a huge wound, where his claws dug into.

I bit back a sob and quickly dove into my purse. I pulled out a peice of red cloth and wrapped it around the wound and tied it with a knot.

Labramon looked up at me. The dog's eyes returned to normal. He looked up at me with cocern.

Labramon: (confused) Sky...are you crying?

Did he truly not remember what he just did.

The dog took a step towards me, but I took a step back from him. My heart was beating like a drum.

Labramon: (scared) Sky...your scaring me...

Me: Sorry...

The dog digimon let out a tiny sob and jumped in my arms.

Labramon: (sobbing) What's wrong Sky? Did I do something wrong?

I slowly embraced him back.

Me: (slowly) You did nothing...don't worry...

I slowly looked back at the fight. Trying to get my mind off what just happen.

Was Labramon...infected? Was...was it too late to save him...or would he end up like Ogremon...

(Bridge)

Joe stood on the bridge. He was watching the helicopters as they flew around in the area. His phone buzzed.

He pulled out his phone, and saw the group chat.

Kari: (text) I'm on my way too.

Tai: (text) Please send the digimon, Izzy.

Izzy: (text) Where are you Joe?

Joe hesitated. He sighed and slowly started to put his phone back in his pocket. But stopped when it buzzed.

Joe: Hello?

Gomamon: (on phone) Joe? I just heard from Izzy. He says everyone's going to Odaiba.

Joe: Yeah, I heard.

Gomamon: I said you were still at school. But if you're going to go to Odaiba, I'm right behind you!

Joe: Sorry. I'm busy.

Gomamon eyes grew wide.

Joe hangs up.

Joe receives a text from a friend.

Friend: Let's do our best on the next text.

Joe sends a text back.

Joe: (text) We got to buckle down.

Joe sighs and opens his bag, but his things start to fall out. Joe starts to put everything back but stops when he sees a lapcoat in the middle of his things.

Joe slowly picks it up and sees a note attach to it.

Dear Joe,

Just to let you know girls totally find guys attractive wearing lab coats. I hope your girlfriend does too.

I think it was about time that I gave it back to you. I finally had time to do so when you went to our meeting. I'm still shocked that you came.

But just remember, I will find out this girl who stole your heart.

Joe...just because we haven't been talking for three years. Doesn't mean that you can't talk to me. I'm just a call or text away. If you need me, I will be there at a minute notice. I would litterally drop everything to be there for you.

Joe had a tear stream down his face as he put the lab coat back in his bag.

He looks in the direction of where the helicopter was and sighs.

Joe: (whispering) I'm sorry Sky...

He walks away.

(Fight)

Togemon started to punch Ogremon blindly, her fists were so fast that you could barly see them.

Swanmon flew behind the Ogremon digimon.

Swanmon: Togemon! Watch out.

The cactus digimon nodded and jumped out of the way.

Swanmon: Down tornado!

Swanmon threw her feathers at the Ogre's back.

The ogre digimon roared and tried to keep his ground.

Newsreporter: (above the fight) As you can see, the three unidentified creatures that appeared in Odaiba are fiercely battling each other.

Togemon headbutted Ogremon in his chest.

Ogremon fell backwards to the ground.

Togemon and Swanmon stood a few feet away from him. The two of them watched him closely.

Mimi: Don't miss anything for the cameras! Now Togemon!

Togemon waved to her.

Togemon jumped into the air.

Cassie's eyes grew wide.

Cassie: Wait...Togemon stop!

But it was too late.

Togemon: Neddle spray!

Her neddles started to fly everywhere. Some of the neddles hit the helicopter that got to close.

Mimi gasped.

The helicopter was sent crashing into the water nearby.

Ogremon ran towards Togemon and struck her with his bone club. Swanmon tried to slap him away with her wing. But the Ogremon digimon knocked her right in her face. Sending the swan sprawling backwards.

Luna gritted her teeth and quickly pulled out her digivice

Luna: Bearmon! Time to fix things.

Bearmon ran fowards.

Bearmon: I hope this doesn't end badly.

Luna's digivice begins to glow brightly. Her digivice screen reads evolution and another bright glow emerges from the blue digivice. White pieces spiral down towards Bearmon.

Bearmon: Bearmon digivovle too...

The white pieces form an egg around Bearmon, engulfing him inside of the digivoultion egg. The digivoultion egg flouts upwards and begins to grow brighter and turn bigger. A body figure of a quadrupedal bear appears. It wears armor on it's shoulders of its forelegs and the paws are covered in spiked gauntlets with sharp claws. Its hind legs are not massively developed as its forelegs but they are still large, the numbers 0 1 2 are on the bear digimon's body in different patterns. A golden ring flies down towards the bear digimon and the designs of the digimon appear. The bear has purple color fur, the amour on the bear digimon is red, and a white crescent moon is on his forehead.

Grizzlymon: Grizzlymon!

The grizzly bear snarled and jumped on the Ogre's back. He started to slash angrily at the ogre digimon.

Ogremon once more roared in pain.

Grizzlymon jumped off and the two digimom faced off with each other.

(Others)

Sora, Kari, and T.k. were with a crowd trying to get into the park but the three of them had no luck. Kari turned her head to see Matt and Tai running in their direction.

Kari: Tai!

T.K.: Matt!

Sora: Wait, you guys came together?

The two looked away from each other.

Matt: Can't make it from here.

T.K.: No. It's completely secured.

A figure looked at the digidestined for a breif second and walked away quickly.

(Fight)

Bearmon pounced towards Ogremon with his fangs barred.

Ogremon roared loudly and struck the bear in his chest.

Grizzlymon's eyes grew wide as all the air was knocked out of him. The bear fell backwards.

Ogremon turned where Togemon was sprawled out on the ground.

Mimi: Togemon!

I watched with a look of sadness as the battle unfold. Labramon was still crying as I held him closely. He still was clueless in what happen earlier.

Ogremon pounced into the air and held out his bone club. His bone club was mere inches from hitting Togemon but the cactus digimon caught it with her gloved hands.

Mimi: Togemon!

Meicoomon jumped out of Meiko's arms.

Meiko: Meico?

Meicoomon jumped onto Ogremon's face and started to claw at it.

Ogremon got annyoied and grabbed the cat digimon. He threw her to the ground roughly. The cat pounced towards him, but then Ogremon knocked her away with his club.

Meiko: Meico!

Meiko raced after her digimon.

Ogremon held up his bone club high, getting ready to attack Togemon again. But then a paw came out of the portal and grabbed his other arm.

Mimi: Leomon?

I looked up to see the lion humanoid digimon.

The lion digimon nodded. He then pulled Ogremon into the portal, and the it closed behind them.

Togemon dedgivovle into Palmon. The plant digimon was in a huge crator.

Cassie and Luna ran over. An unconscious Cupimon and Bearmon were in their arms.

Meiko walked slowly over with Meicoomon in her arms.

I watched my friends sadly. I didn't take part of the fight. Labramon still held onto me tightly. The dog digimon sobbed loudly, as he held onto me.

Their had to be a cure for this virus. I couldn't let Labramon be controlled by this.

Mimi: (worried) Palmon!

Mimi picked her up.

Mimi: Stay strong, Palmon!

(Sitting area, near lake)

Meiko: I'm sorry.

T.K.: It wasn't you guys. That helicopter got too close.

Cassie nodded.

Cassie: No one is to blame here.

Luna: Let's all just forget it.

Mimi got up to her feet.

Mimi: (angrily) It's not Meimei's fault! I said to do it.

Izzy: Didn't I tell you to hold tight?

I watched my friends fight wordlessly. I couldn't even find words to say. I wanted to say somethine like they were being stupid. But no words came to mind.

Mimi: I'm sick of Palmon and the others being critized. (She looks between Tai and I) Aren't you guys?

Tai: Yes but...

I stared blanky at her.

Mimi looked caught off guard.

Usually I would jump to her defense in a situation like this.

Izzy: So you acted out of good intentions. Now look at the result. It's a very serious and delicate problem Mimi, you have...a very egocentric side.

Mimi gritted her teeth.

(Digital space)

The other digimon surronded Palmon, Bearmon, Cupimon and Meicoomon.

Labramon sat in a corner by himself. Tears were still falling from the corners of his eyes. He didn't even notice the blood that soaked his claws.

Palmon: (sadly) Mimi...

(Back to us)

Sora got up to her feet

Sora: That was uncalled for.

Sora placed a hand on Mimi's shoulder.

Mimi: I'm going home.

Mimi starts walking away.

Sora: Mimi!

Luna: (mummbling) Why does it always seem that after every conversation in this group. Someone has to storm off?

Mimi starts running away.

Meiko: No wait!

Sora: Leave her alone for a while.

Matt: What happen to Joe?

Izzy: I texted him.

Matt looks to me.

Matt: Do you know.

I slowly look up at him.

Before I could even open my mouth. Kari gasped.

Kari: Sky your arm.

I look down at my arm to see the cloth wasn't tied properly, so the cloth slightly moved down my arm to reavel the wound that Labramon made.

T.K.: What happen Sky?

Sora: Are you alright?

Cassie: When did that happen?

I felt tears stinging at my eyes.

Me: (whispering) I...I think I'm going home too...

I slowly got to my feet and walked away too.

Sora sighed.

Sora: I tried calling Joe.

Matt: All that's going on, and still studying is more important?

Tai: Lay off.

Matt: no question, Joe might be very logical and overly cautious about everything but he also used to know what's important and what we should do. And yet...

Tai: I said, lay off.

Matt gritted his teeth.

Tai: I'm sure Joe knew he should have come. Even so he must have been unable to.

Matt: I know that...

(Joe's apartment)

Joe stared closly at his latop.

Gomamon: Hey Joe, sure we don't have to go? I hear everyone else is there.

Joe: I know what would happen if I went. I'd be berated for not going. Then someone would take my side. And I'd be left unable...to say anything.

(My apartment)

Mimi stared at the news with a frown. Togemon was shown accidently attacking the helicopter.

The screen changes to show three reporters. One of them was injured from the crash.

News reporter: as you can see, we were attacked by the unidentified creatures; crashing our helicopter

Images of Ogremon, Togemon, Swanmon, and Grizzlymon were shown on the screen.

News reporter: These creatures are dangerous and they should be exterminated-

Mimi turned off the news and fell onto her bed.

Palmon sat across from her.

Palmon: Mimi.

Mimi didn't answer her.

(Joe's apartment)

Gomamon was at the stove cooking rice. The seal digimon wore a little apron.

Joe's dad: What a mess.

He was watching the news.

Joe's mom: Apparently this calamity has clothes to school as well.

Joe's dad: How is Joe these days?

Joe's mom: Well despite all his studying...

Joe's dad: I see...I want him to try his best.

Joe was listening into their conversation in his room. A frown was on his face.

(Izzy's office)

I sat in a chair next to Sora. Sora convinced me to come to the meeting.

I had gotten my mom to clean my wound. When she asked what happen, I lied to her and said I had fallen.

My family treats Labramon part of the family. And if they were to find out that he had attack me...I wouldn't know how they would react.

I look over at the retriver digimon. He was talking with the other digimon. Cupimon and Bearmon were with him going over everything that happen at the Ogremon fight.

Cassie walked over to me and sat next to me. My friend hugged me.

Cassie: Is everything alright?

I shrugged.

Me: I guess.

Cassie: It doesn't sound like it...

I sighed.

Tentomon brought Meiko a cup of cofee.

Meiko: Th...thank you very much.

Tentomon: I think you guys did great, Meiko.

Biyomon: Yeah!

Meicoomon laughed.

A bell chimmed was heard.

Izzy: Please come in.

The door to the room open to show Tai standing there.

Sora: Tai?

Standing next to Tai was Leomon.

We all stood up when we noticed the champion level digimon.

Matt: Leomon?

Sora: Why? Where is Jeremy?

I wanted to know that question as well.

Tai: He said he has something to tell us.

Leomon sat in a chair.

Leomon: there are mutations occurring in the digital world. I came to tell you about them. We first realized it when Ogremon started acting strange. The cause is unknown. But apparently there are Digimon acting the same strange way.

Izzy: yes. We call them "Infected digimon" is one of those mutations the distortions in space, that's connecting Digital World, and our world.

Leomon: (nods) Indeed. It is how I came here. I had my eye on Ogremon to keep him in check but I was too late.

Tai: You don't seem infected. Why?

Leomon: I don't know. I remember though that when Ogremon was infected, it was like something within him began to change.

Cassie stood up with a grin.

Cassie: I have a theory. Leomon does have a digidestined partner right?

Leomon nodded.

Leomon: Yes I do.

Cassie: Maybe the digimon who our partnered with digidestineds, can't be infected. Maybe it's something different in their data frame from those digimon who aren't partnered with humans.

I frowned when she said this. Because I knew this wasn't true.

Izzy nodded to agree with her.

Izzy: That's actually a good theory Cassie. Thankfully our digimon can't be infected. That's a big relief. Or hopefully not so fair. But as of right now, none of our digimon are showing any signs of the infection.

Izzy types on his computer.

Izzy: may I ask you something. Which came first in the digital world, the distortions or the infected Digimon.

Leomon: First came the infection.

Izzy: (typing on his computer) I thought the distortions caused it all , but could the opposite perhaps be true. There could be something else causing the infection. For example, data or some program. Or some kind of creature. If the distortions to were a phenomenon born from infection, it would add up.

Agumon: What a scary conversation.

Labramon: Agreed.

Gabumon: But what if that theory isn't true. What if we do get infected too?

Biyomon: Should we put on bug repellent.

Meicoomon: Will it really work.

Bearmon: I hope so.

Cupimon: Aye!

Agumon: Maybe we should put on surgical masks.

All the digimon put on surgical masks.

Meicoomon: Roger!

Izzy: don't worry. You're safe as long as you're in the server in this room. It's kept as a stand-alone ordinarily. But when connection to the outside it has a robust anti- Intruder system of my own design with three fields of security. And you need my personal Authentication.

Tai put a hand on his chin.

Tai: If the infection has an origin.

Sora: Ring any bells?

Leomon ran over to the window. And open up the curtains. No one was outside on the balcony.

Luna: (confused) Is something wrong?

Leomon: I thought I heard someone.

I stood up.

Me: Leomon can we talk?

The lion digimon nodded.

(Outside of Izzy's office)

Leomon and I stood next to each other.

Me: So where is Jeremy?

Leomon looked down at the ground.

Leomon: I don't know...all I remember is Jeremy, Max, Commandramon, and I were on a plane to America. We had plan to visit Jeremy's and Max's sister grave.

He rubbed his face.

Leomon: I was an Elecmon at that time. I don't...even remember making it there...all I recall is walking up in the digital world...waking up in my champion level form. And Jeremy wasn't with me.

The lion sighed.

Leomon: I was able to find some old friends. Like I said Ogremon, but I also found Meramon, and even Veedramon. But one by one...the infection got to them...

My eyes grew wide when I heard Veedramon was infected.

Me: (sadly) Veedramon... it can't be...not him too... (I slowly looked at Leomon with tears in my eyes) Leomon can you promise you can keep a secret...

Leomon: What is it...?

I rubbed a few tears out of my eyes. And remove the bandage of the wound.

Leomon looked surprised by the wound that was on my arm.

Me: This happen around the time Ogremon attacked us...

Leomon: Did he do that?

I shook my head.

Me: No...(I took a deep breathe) Please don't tell the others...I don't want them to worry about their own digimon...Labramon is...he is...(I started to burst into tears)

Leomon eyes grew wide. He slowly hugged me as I cried.

Leomon: He is infected is he?

Me: (sobbing) I don't...know what to do (hiccup) If the others were...to find out (hiccup) I...don't know what...they would do. (Hiccup) Please....don't tell anyone. He doesn't...even remember attacking me.

Leomon stopped hugging me and patted me on top of the head.

Leomon: Don't worry Skylar. Hopefully Izzy can discover a cure, and you won't have to worry about it anymore.

I rubbed the tears out of my eyes.

(Next day at school)

Mimi sat in the back of the classroom with her head down. Cassie was in the front row.

Cassie stared at Mimi with a worried look.

Random girl: Hey, i heard those girls were on TV.

Random girl 2: No way.

Random girl 3: You mean...The news about the helicopter in Odaiba?

Random girl 2: I saw it too.

Cassie slowly got out of her seat. The girl had a frown on her face and she was about to walk over to Mimi but stopped when Mimi held up a hand.

Mimi turned in the girl's direction.

Mimi slammed her hand on her desk, catching all of their attention.

Mimi: (angrily) Say it to my face.

(Extra resources room)

Meiko and I were in the room trying to work together on the outfits.

Me: (mummbling) I just pricked myself with another neddle.

Meiko: (whispering) This is hard...whoaa.

Tons of supplies fell over and Meiko fell to the floor.

Me: Meiko are you okay?

She nodded and placed a hand on top of her head.

Sora runs into the classroom.

Sora: Are you two alright? That was really loud.

Meiko: I'm alright.

Me: Me too.

Sora walked over. The two of us helped Meiko to her feet.

Sora: Careful! There're all kinds of dangerous things like neddles and scissors.

Meiko: Yeah...I pricked myself everywhere while I was basting.

She held up her hands.

Me: She isn't the only one.

Sora: Good thing. I came to help you two. Where is Mimi?

Me: She went to the planning committee meeting. To show them the design.

(Planning committee meeting)

Mimi sat at a desk in the back by herself. She stared down at her phone sadly.

The planning committee president walked over to her with two other girls.

President: Tackiwawa, have a minute?

Mimi looked up at them.

A random girl held up Meiko's drawling.

Random girl: It's about this. There's no way we'll do it. Wear this kind of outfit to serve guests.

President: You never asked, just told us what to wear. We won't stand for it.

Random girl 2: You're a Jikochu.

Mimi: (confused) Jikochu?

Random girl 2: You don't know? It means self-centered and annoying!

(Resources room)

Meiko and I watched closely as Sora made the outfits.

Sora: It's done!

Meiko held out the outfit with a huge smile.

Meiko: It's so lovely.

Sora: if you want Kimono scraps, there are tons in the back. Use whatever you want.

Meiko: Thank you.

Me: (excited) Mimi is totally going to love these outfits.

The door to the room opens and Mimi walks in.

Meiko: Mimi.

Sora: How was the meeting?

Me: What did they say?

Meiko: Mimi look! Sora put the outfits together so beautifully. If it's like this, i might even...

Mimi: Sorry, we decided not to wear them.

Meiko, Sora and I looked surprised.

Sora: I shouldn't have worked on the design.

Meiko: Um...did something happen?

Me: Did they say something to you?

Mimi: Not really...

Meiko: But we already made...

Mimi: (yelling) I'm telling you to forget them!

Meiko gasped.

Mimi was shocked by her actions.

Mimi: (whispering) I'm sorry.

Mimi ran off.

Meiko, Sora, and i: Mimi!

(Near bridge)

Mimi walked down a sidewalk with her head down.

She looked over to see Joe standing near the water.

Mimi: Joe...

Mimi walked over and stood next to him.

Mimi: Are you skipping school? Is that okay, even with your exams?

Joe: What about you? Aren't you busy planning for the school festival?

Kari was walking down the sidewalk. She stopped to see the two of them.

Kari: Mimi and Joe?

Kari ran over to them but stopped when she heard Mimi asked a question.

Mimi: Am I a Jikochu?

Joe looked over with a schocked expression.

Joe: Well...

Mimi: You don't refute it.

Joe: Sorry.

Mimi: It's fine. I didn't know on some level. These past couple days. I was made painfully aware. When something feels right or I think something is good, I act like it's good for everyone else too. But ultimately... I'm not seeing those around me. it ends up making them feel bad. I hurt Palmon too. I even lost my temper with Meimei. I'm sick of myself.

Her grips on her bag tightens.

Joe: if you're doing something, Jikochu is still better. I'm disgusted with myself. I hurt Skylar more times than I count. I'm a filthy coward, and i can't even find the strength to apologize to her.

Mimi: Joe...

Joe: why is it us, again, that has to take care of things, because we're the digidestined? Why is that Destiny ours?

Mimi: You still have that question, even now?

Joe: I know. I was over it. But even though you get over it once, the same question returns...

Rain starts to pour on the two.

Joe:  how long must we be the digidestined? There's so much I have to do at this point in my life. In order to the Join Society, to become an adult. I have to choose my own way to adulthood, not to be a digidestined. That's why I've been studying.

Mimi: And so you're skipping school?

Joe: You got me there. I'm off to school.

Joe walks off.

(Walking on the sidewalk near the street)

Joe walks with his head down.

Joe: Saying that you have to be an adult? You coward.

Joe starts to cry.
