A plane flew through the open sky.

The piolets were getting ready to land the plane. Neither of them notice the screens on the control pannel had started to glitch.

Piolet 1: App switch, on.

Piolet 2: (nods) App switch, on.

Piolet 2 presses a button on the control panel, he presses it several times but nothing happens. A look of worry crosses his face.

Piolet: Their is no response.

The other piolet looked at him with disbelief.

Piolet: Auto piolet acting strange. App off. Will land manually.

Ground control: Roger that.

The two piolets grab their steering wheels and held on tight.

The screens on the control panel was now completely on the haywire.

The plane was coming closer to the runway.

Piolet 2: The instruments are all malfunctioning! Is it possible to go around?

Piolet 1: Not anymore!

The plane was edging closer to the runway.

Piolet 1: Let's eyeball it and continue landing.

The wind breaks on the wings lifted up and started to push back against the wind.

The wheels on the plane touched the ground and let out a screech.

The plane was sliding across the runway leaning to the left. Finally it stopped to a halt.

The plane was now shown on the news.

Newsreporter: Flight JAM502 from west Chitose airport made an emergency landing at New Haneda due to an instrument malfunction. The passangers and crew are safe. There is no threat of fire on flighr JAM502. It seems a computer shutdown during landing.

Maki and Daigo were watching the news report from Maki's office.

Newsreporter: There was an instrument malfunction around the airport. Here after all flights shall land at the airports they are redirected to. Instrument failure on flight ANW460...

Daigo: Is Meicoomon causing all of this?

Maki: That's likely.

Daigo: Why didn't you tell me sooner that the one they were aiming for was Meicoomon?

The phone rang and Maki picked up the phone.

Maki: Yes?

She lisnted to the other person on the line.

Maki: (nods) Understood, I'm on my way.

She hangs up the phone and starts to get up from her seat.

Maki: Professor Mochizuki has arrived.

Daigo slammed his hands against Maki's desk.

Daigo: If we heard about Meicoomon, we might have been able to give different support at the school, and at the city the other day!

Maki stares coldy at him.

Maki: Our priority now is to discuss countermeasures.

Maki walks out of the room and Daigo sighs angrily.

(School)

Students were all starting to take down the festival equipment that has been up for the past three days 

Principal: (over the intercom) All of the school events are now over. Thank you everyone for the last three days. The closing ceremony will be held at ground two at six o' clock.

Girl 1: Hey, are you going to the closing ceremony?

Boy: Yeah I'm going.

(Daters restaurant, Skylar's P.O.V.)

Mimi and I were taking down flowers from the board in the front of the classroom.

Me: (blushing) So...Joe and I are a...

Mimi: Thing? (Smiles) I always knew you two would date.

My face burned as I stared at my best friend.

Mimi turns back to the task at hand, and I sighed. I follwed her lead and removed another flower from the board.

The committee president walked up behind the two of us.

Mimi and I turn to her.

She held out two bottles of orange soda to us.

President: (smiles) The dance was popular with our guest. That's thanks to you, Tachikawa. Plus you were a great singer Ruby...and I'm sorry for calling you immature.

Me: (smiling) I'm immature and proud.

The president sweatdrop at my statement.

Mimi looks down at her feet.

Mimi: No, it wasn't just me...

Her and I exchange sad looks. Because I knew she was talking about Meiko.

Mimi: It was through everyone's hard work right?

Girl 1: Man! I wish I had worn that costume, too.

Two girls near the window were talking with each other.

Girl 2: We definitely have to dress up next year!

Girl 3: I want to wear one, too!

Girl 4: I want to do this next year too!

Mimi smiles.

Mimi and I: Thank you.

We both took the sodas.

Girl 1: Hey, what happen to Meiko?

Girl 2: She went to the dumpster earlier...

Girl 1: That was a while ago...

Girl 2: She looked down all day today, so I got worried and tried to reach out, but she said she was fine.

Mimi: I'll go look for her!

Me: And I will go help!

The two of us run out of the classroom.

A sign stood in front of the gym and the back of the school. Both signs read "Off limits to unauthorized personnel."

Student: Hey that zone became off limits. What happen?

Student 2: No idea, I havent heard anything. Plus I heard it's the same thing at the gym. I'm glad I didn't go to the dance last night...I heard a monster attacked happen.

Meiko watched from the second floor at the scientists and secrets agents who were working down below at the back of the school.

Mimi: MeiMei!

Me: Meiko!

Mimi and I ran up to her.

Mimi: Are you okay?

Me: Please talk to us.

Meiko runs away from us.

Mimi: MeiMei!

We ran after her. Sora has join in. She came out of her science class.

Meiko continues to sprint away from us.

Mimi: MeiMei! Hey, wait up!

Meiko stops running when she sees her sisters up ahead. Luna and Cassie were just as suprised as her. But the two of them were more suprised to see her out of her room.

Meiko fell to her knees.

Meiko remembers Meicoomon turning Leomon into MadLeomon and she starts to cry.

Mimi: MeiMei!

Meiko: (crying) Meico...Meico...Leomon...Meico...did...! Meico!

Mimi, Sora, Luna, Cassie, and I surrounded Meiko. The five of us gave her comforting looks. And tried to calm her down. Each of us had tears in our eyes.

Sora: We're here for you.

Mimi: We're together with you.

Cassie: Please no more running.

Luna: We can help you.

Me: (whispering) Don't worry...

(Ken's apartment, Jeremy's P.O.V)

Kari, T.K., and I stood in front of ken's apartment. The three of us looked at the door with uncertainty.

Kari rings the doorbell a few times but no one answers.

T.K. and I stood behind her.

T.K.: Let me try.

Kari moves out of the way, and T.k. knocks on the door.

Still no answers.

Me: Looks like no one's home...it's the same with Davis and Yolei...where could they be.

Kari turns to me.

Kari: When was the last time you talked with them?

Me: Well I hang out with them at the computer room. And they all were talking about going on the feild trip.

T.K.: (muttering) I don't think that feild trip should last so long...

Kari pulls out her cell phone. I mimic her.

T.K.: Any response?

Kari: (shakes her head) No, not yet. (Pauses, she looks back towards the door) I'm...worried about them...

T.K.: I'm sure it'll be fine. Let's all properly investigate some more.

I nodded to agree with him.

Kari: Okay.

T.K. starts walking off 

T.K.: Let's go 

Kari: (thinking) T.K.'s grown up

T.K. looks back at Kari.

T.K.: What?

Kari: N-nothing!

T.K.: Oh

Kari: Yeah.

I smirked at the two and followed after them.

(Izzy's office, Skylar's P.O.V.)

Joe and I sat side by side. The two of us held hands as we sat on the couch. The two of us were quiet, but slight smiles were on both of our faces.

Matt look down at his phone.

Matt: They said no luck yet...

Tai: Really...

I look down sadly.

Me: You know...I'm really surprised I'm about to say this...(pause) but...I miss Davis. I miss how he used to steal my bike...

Joe squeezed my hand.

Joe: Don't worry. We are all probably getting all worked up about this and their on the feild trip still.

I nodded and rested my head on his shoulder.

Me: But...what about ken.

Joe remains silent. Like me...he didn't know how to explain that...

Why would Ken become the digimon emperor again...?

(Digital space)

Agumon: Still no snacks? I'm starving!

Labramon: We are all going to die!

Cupimon held her hands together.

Cupimon: Please Tentomon!

Patamon: Hurry up! Hurry!

Leomon who had recently returned to his champion form. Sweatdrop as he watched the rookie digimon cry over food.

Tentomon was putting snacks in a basket.

Tentomon: Okay, okay just a bit. (He starts counting the snacks) One, two, three, four. Hmm. Meicoomon isn't here, so we'll do twelve snacks.

A few of the digimon sweatdrop.

Agumon: (shouting) Hurry up and give us the snacks!

Tentomon looks over his shoulder at the other digimon's reactions.

Tentomon: Huh? Did I say something bad?

Gatomon: Like stepping on a landmine...

Bearmon: (mumbling) Or a bear trap...

Matt looks over at the digimon.

Matt: Listen up.

The digimon in the digital space turn to look at him.

Matt: Don't come out from there for a while.

Agumon: (shouting) Okay already!

Patamon: (crying) I want a rice cracker!

Labramon: (sobbing) I just want something to eat!

Tentomon flew over to them with the basket of food.

Tentomon: Sorry to keep you waiting!

Sora placed a cup of coffee next to Izzy.

Izzy: We quickly have to pin down the cause of the infections. To prevent anymore damage.

Tai: More damage...

Luna: (sighs) This is all getting out of hand...

Izzy: Leomon was the first sign of it. The infections are no longer, just occuring in the digital world. The digimon ate their food happily. The twelve of them oblivious on what was being said.

Sora: (sadly) Meicoomon...How could such a gentle digimon...

Matt: Did you notice it before?

Everyone was silent. Until I burst into tears.

My friends look at me with shock. Even Luna seem surprised that I started to cry out randomly.

Sora: Sky?

Joe wrapped an arm around me.

Joe: (comforting) What's wrong?

Me: (sobbing) Leomon wasn't the first...

My friends look confused.

I removed the bandage that was wrapped around my arm. The scar was still there.

My friends gave me a worried look.

Me: (whispering) Labramon...attack me...he was controlled by the infection.

My friends gasped.

Matt: What...

Luna: Then Cassie's theory was really off...(mumbling) Our digimon...can be infected...

Sora: I...I can't believe it...

Sora looks towards the digimon. All of them were still eating. Not paying any attention to us.

Izzy slammed his fists against his desk.

Izzy: (angrily) Why didn't you tell us!?

Me: (crying) I...I was scared.

Izzy: How do you think we feel!?

Me: I'm sorry!

Izzy: It's to late to say sorry! Darn it! Skylar!

Sora: Izzy! Calm down!

Izzy barred his teeth and sat down in his chair.

I bit back another sob and rested my head against Joe's shoulder.

Joe brushed his hand through my red hair.

Joe: Don't worry. Everything will be okay. (Gets back on topic) I think it happened suddenly to Meicoomon, without any symptoms.

Izzy returns to his work.

Izzy: The term "infection" we used it lightly, but...

An error shows up on Izzy's computer. "No results" Elecmon data was underneath the message.

Izzy: It totally exceeded anything we could have imagined

Another error message pop up.

Izzy growled at the message.

A bell chime was heard.

Mimi rushed into the room.

Mimi: Sorry! I was cleaning-up

Meiko and Cassie followed in after Mimi.

Tai: Are you alright?

Meiko: Oh...yes. I'm sorry for making you worry.

Izzy: Anyway, we need to quickly iron out a plan. There are a lot of things I want to ask Meiko.

Meiko: Okay.

Izzy: If Meicoomon is infected, I want to find out why, were there any symptoms? When on earth did the infection occur?

Meiko put her hand to her chin. She was trying to think.

Izzy: Please remember! We need your information to pin down the cause of infection.

Meiko remains quiet.

Luna slowly starts to stare daggers at Izzy. But he seems not to notice.

More error messages show up on Izzy's computer.

Izzy: Even small details will help!

Meiko held back a sob.

Mimi: Hold on Izzy! This isn't some police interrogation. Take MeiMei's feelings into consideration a bit more.

Izzy got up from his chair and slammed his hands against his desk.

Izzy: (yelling) Sky could have died the other die Mimi! Did you ever take that into consideration?

Everyone slowly becomes quiet. Even the digimon had our attention now.

I held the end of my paints, I wanted to say something but I kept my mouth shut. Joe patted me on the shoulder.

Mimi bit her lip as she started at me for a brief second.

Cassie stood up. Anger burned in the twin sister of Meiko. Even Luna was surprised at how angry Cassie looked.

Cassie: (coldy) Leave my sister alone.

Izzy: I need to know!

Cassie bawled her fists.

Cassie: Knowing everything won't make you a better person Izzy! You should learn that caring about people is more important than learning everything!

Izzy: Well it is to me!

Cassie gritted her teeth.

Cassie: You idiot!

Izzy: What!?

Sora walks between the two.

Sora: Stop it! The both of you!

The digimon watched closely from the digital space. All of them had their faces pushed up against the glass. Beside Leomon who was towring over them.

Cassie and Izzy looked away from each other.

Izzy starts typing on his computer without another thought.

Izzy: (angrily) Caring...

Cassie: (bawls fists) That's it! I will never forgive you Izzy izumi! You are the biggest jerk i have ever met!

Cassie turns on her heels and runs out of his office.

Cupimon flew out of the digital space and flew after her, before the door closed.

Cupimon: Cassie!

I stood up quickly.

Me: Oh no Cupimon.

Izzy: (coldy) Don't worry. Let Cupimon go. I don't want them back.

i look at Izzy with shock. What is going on with my friend.

I thought Izzy and Cassie liked each other. But know...they seem to hate one another.

Mimi looks towards Meiko. Meiko had started to cry.

Mimi: MeiMei...

Meiko: (crying) It's all my fault...Meico...I'm sorry....!

Tears swarm my eyes as I saw Meiko sob uncontrollably.

Sora and Mimi went to comfort her.

(Outside)

Joe: (on his bike) See ya later.

I waved after him.

Me: Call me later. Maybe we can hang out.

Joe nods and ride his bike away.

Sora and Mimi smile at me. And I smiled back.

Luna walked over to us with Meiko by her side. The five of us walked away together.

Tai and Matt stood next to each other.

Tai: Okay.

Matt: Mega digivoultion, huh?

Tai: Yeah, I still can't believe Joe, Mimi, Sky, and Jeremy pulled it off.

Matt holds up his phone.

Matt: Izzy said those prophecies had predicted it to happen.

Tai's eyes grew wide.

Tai: Huh? What does this all mean?

Matt: I don't know, but...If more of the others easily achieve mega digivoultion...we won't need to rely on Omnimon.

Tai gasped.

Matt: That'd be easier for you too, right?

Matt walks away.

Matt: Later.

(Meiko's home)

Meiko and Luna walk through the front door together.

Meiko: We're home.

Their mom stood in the kitchen, cooking shrimp.

Mom: Ah! Welcome back you two. Cassie arrived earlier with Cupimon. Cassie said something about reading a new book from the library, and ran off. (She then turns to the two of them and holds up a peice of shrimp) Hey Meiko, good job at the school festival...and look at what I made. Your favorite shrimp.

Meiko stays emotionless as their mother holds it up.

Luna smiles trying to keep their mother happy.

Luna: Thank you so much mom. I bet my sisters and I can't wait for dinner. Right Meiko?

Meiko sighs and looks up at their mother.

Meiko: Where's dad?

Mom: He might not come home today, either. He has a lot of meetings.

Meiko: It's about Meico, isn't it?

Luna and her mom exchange looks.

(Office)

Business men surronded a table.

Men 1: Management officer Himekwawa reporting damage.

Maki stood in front of a screen. On the screen was several pictures of plane crashes.

Maki: Now 13 places within the city and 52 places country wide...are having trouble with electronic devices. This is causing considerable communication issues. However, the biggest problem is that it also occurs around the airport...which affects the planes that take off and land. There were four emergency landings at New Haneda alone. In one case, an airplane  nearly collided with another. It's under investigation with certain Airlines closed.

A man turns to a professor at the table.

Man: what do you think, professor Mochizuki?

The professor stands up.

Professor: just before this all occurred... There was a report of an unconfirmed Digimon at Tsukishima high school.

Man: do you think this is related to the crisis?

Professor: I can't say conclusively for now. But in light of these esculations, it is conceivable they may be related.

Everyone in the room grows quiet.

(After meeting)

Maki and Daigo stood together in the hallway.

Daigo: This is more dire than expected.

Maki: at this rate, it will happen again... there'll be victims again.

Daigo: I don't want them to have that harse experience.

Maki: Yeah

The professor walks out from the business room.

Daigo stops him when he starts walking away.

Daigo: Professor Mochizuki!

Professor: What?

Daigo: Um...it's about your daughter...

Professor: Which one?

Daigo: Meiko sir, I think she's extremely upset...That's...

Professor: I'm sorry for making you worry. I'll speak to her when I get home.

He walks away.

(Packing garage)

Daigo and Maki get out of a red Porsche

Matt walks out from a pillar and heads towards them.

Daigo: Matt? What's wrong?

Matt: I need to know more. We're in a tough situation... So I need as much information as possible.

Maki stares at him coldy.

Matt: Please.

Maki: Alright.

Matt and Daigo both looked shocked.

Maki: You're also involved. You have a right to know, to some extent.

(Office)

A file sat in front of Matt at a table.

"The fifth interim report" was labeled across the front.

Maki: You saw what occurred in the shadow of the school Festival right? This is result. We haven't reported it to the media. And we're not going to. Sooner or later, It'll become an uproar though.

Matt: What about Ken Ichijouji?

Maki: We're always checking the welfare of the digidestined. Don't worry.

Matt: I was worried because I couldn't contact him.

Maki: (nods) Go tell everyone, The Meicoomon investigation will begin, ASAP...and we will cooperate as much as possible.

Matt: (nods) okay

Matt gets up.

Maki: I'll tell you as soon as anything new comes up. We're okay, right?

Matt: thank you, very much.

Matt pasts Daigo.

Daigo: See you tomorrow, right?

Matt smiles and walks out of the room.

Daigo barred his teeth and angrily walked over to Maki.

Daigo: Himekwawa! You went overboard!

Maki was sitting at her desk reading papers.

Maki: How so?

Daigo: By deceiving those kids!

Maki: Should I have been honest about everything?

Daigo: Well...

Maki: I can't right? To say that those people are missing. (A map of the earth shows on the computer. The map shows multiple digidestined are missing) I don't want to burden those kids anymore. It's part of our duty to deceive them well.

Daigo: How about the fact that Meicoomon caused all this?

Maki: If we tell them, what will it do to Meiko and their relationship?

Daigo was taken back.

Maki: they'll know sooner or later. No need to tell them, Izzy will figure it out.

Daigo barred his teeth.

Daigo: But still... !

Daigo runs to the side of her desk ans leans her back in her chair.

Daigo: Why keep things from me too?! Am I that untrustworthy?!

Maki smirks.

Maki: Some things are better not knowing.

Maki removes his hand off her shoulder.

Daigo walks away from her, and Maki returns to her papers.

(Meiko's apartment)

Meiko was waiting outside of her apartment.

She was staring down at the ground.

Meiko's dad: Meiko.

Meiko looked up quickly.

Meiko: Father, here's some clothes.

She hands him a bag.

Meiko's dad: Thank you. Please tell your mother and sisters I won't be home for a while.

Meiko: Okay

Meiko's dad turns and walks off.

Meiko's dad: Go home safely.

Meiko: Um...about Meico...

Her dad looks back at her.

Dad: Sorry...my meeting's starting soon.

Meiko: Father...I'm sorry.

He placed a hand on her shoulder.

Dad: Just leave the rest to us.

(School, Skylar's P.O.V.)

Sora and I noticed that Meiko didn't show up to school.

The two of us frowned as we stared at her desk.

I hope Meiko was okay.

(Meiko's room)

Meiko was in her bed. She looks down at her phone.

Mimi: (text) Are you okay?

Meiko turns off her phone. And turns it back on to see a picture of her, her sisters, Sora, Mimi, Skylar, and their digimon. All of them were together.

Meiko was taken back as she stared at Meicoomon.

She crawled into her bed.

(Maki's office)

Maki reads on her computer a file.

Maki: Project reboot...

(Izzy's office)

Izzy's office was covered with trash, and empty oolong tea bottles.

Izzy slap himself in the face as another "no result" message pop on the screen.

Izzy: It's no good...I don't know.

The digimon stared at him sadly.

(Outside)

Sora was walking down the sidewalk with an umbrella. Rain poured down lightly.

(Meiko's room)

Meiko's mom opens her door.

Mom: Meiko! Your friend is here!

Sora and Meiko sat together on the floor.

Sora: I came to bring you our summer vacation homework.

Sora hands over a packet 

Meiko: Sorry about that 

Sora: Are you alright? You can't cheer up if you don't you have to eat and sleep a lot.

Meiko laughs.

Meiko: Your like a mom.

Sora: Hey! Tai says that too! Man, you two are so rude!

Meiko: I'm sorry.

Sora: No, it's okay (she holds up her hands) In the past, Tai...

Meiko: Tai...

Sora: Let Agumon dark digivovle.

Meiko gasped.

Sora: But Agumon is fine now, right? So...we and our partner digimon are exceptional. We're always connected...no matter what happens. That's what I believe.

Sora places her hands over Meiko's.

Sora: It's okay to cry. That's why I came.

Meiko hugs Sora and starts to burst into tears.

Sora pats hrr on the back of the head.

(Izzy's office, Skylar's P.O.V.)

Joe and I walk into Izzy's office. Both of us were shocked to see what was in front of us.

Joe: (shocked) Ah! This is way worse than my room during exam prep.

Me: In my opinion, it looks like a tornado blew through.

Joe nods to agree with me.

The two of us started to pick up trash. Joe moves over to the windows and open the blinds.

Me: Izzy...really let this place go...

Joe: (mumbling) Your telling me...

Izzy: ( hoarse) Oolong tea.

Joe jumps back and I scream a little.

Izzy: Oolong...tea.

*two minutes later*

Izzy is gulping down a bottle of oolong tea.

Joe: How long haven't you slept?

Izzy: Since after the school festival.

Joe's and my eyes grow wide.

Joe: That's not good! You'll stop being productive if you stay up! Gotta keep your life in order when prepping for an exam, too!

Izzy: Joe, you seem somehow lively.

Me: It's me.

Joe rolls his eyes and smiled at him. 

Joe then scratch his face.

Joe: Oh...you can tell? What do you call it...an unmasking? An upgrade? A surge? An evolution? I guess I realized I'm actually a capable guy. A mega evolution, to say the least.

I slapped him in the back of the head.

Joe: Ouch!? Why did you do that?

I crossed my arms over my stomach 

Me: don't be so full of yourself.

Joe: Anyway, how are Gomamon and the others.

Izzy: They're in the server room. It's the safest way to prevent the infection.

The digimon were waving at us.

Digimon: Joe! Sky!

We smiled at them.

Izzy: To be honest, i found data errors from the infection in this room's pc, too.

Joe eyes grew wide again.

Izzy: I dealt with it quickly, so it's fine now.

Joe: That's good, then. But...

Izzy: When I pursued the error...I saw it matches the time when Meicoomon was infected at the festival.

Joe: So the cause is the same?

Me: That's shocking news...

Izzy: Once we research some more... we might know the cause and countermeasures.

Joe nods but then frowns.

Joe: I'm still surprised you had a fight with Cassie.

Izzy: (shaking his head)...I didn't have a fight with Cassie. Merely a disagreement.

Me: You pretty much stomp on her feelings...and I don't think she wants to see you ever again.

Izzy: Oh...(Izzy starts to grow quiet.)

Joe: Izzy...

Me: Izzy...are you okay...

Izzy: (crying) I had a fight with Cassie!

Author note: Sorry for the long wait. I've been procrastinating lately. But I will be trying to get chapter three of tr done.

Sorry for this coming out late. I now I made a schedule...and so far...I'm not following it that well. I will now try my best, to cover up the days I've missed, and then continue the schedule.
