In the name of friendship.
While Taichi was in the real world, the other 8 children were misled by Pico Devimon's lies and separated from one another. However, Tokomon discovered Pico Devimon's true identity and evolved to Patamon to save Takeru. Regaining the hope, he had lost, Takeru set off once again with Taichi to search for Yamato and the others.
Earlier with Yamato.
Yamato took in the scenario of this unknown place. It was on a beach somewhere, but this hadn't exactly been the place he wanted to go. Him and Gabumon had just been driving around in that swan boat of theirs and at some point, hit the coast.
"Where are we? Did the wind blow us off course?", Yamato mused to himself.
"Huh? Look over there", Gabumon instructed and made Yamato follow his gaze.
Three digimon's, who looked like Monzaemon, Cockatrimon, and Yukidarumon, were walking up a hill to who knows where.
"Digimon? But why?", Yamato wondered.
In the end he decided to follow them along with Gabumon. They soon reached this restaurant. It was a bit unusual. Why was there a restaurant in the digital world?
Inside the three digimon had made themselves comfortable and had just ordered different dishes from the waiter digimon named Veggiemon.
Veggiemon.
Adult.
Plant digimon.
Attribute: Virus.
Special move: Unchi.
Veggiemon. A small digimon who skillfully maneuver his vines. Although lacking offense, his personality is exceedingly atrocious. In brief, he is a mean fellow.
"Sure, your orders are all set. Thank you for your continued patronage", Veggiemon greeted with a smile. That quickly changed when he turned to his employee digimon.
"Hey, you! Look for more customers!", he yelled and tossed the digimon outside the front door.
In just that moment, Yamato and Gabumon had been intending to enter, when the Digimon almost got tossed in their faces. The little seal digimon groaned as it hit the ground pretty harshly. It had not yet noticed the others. But they had.
"Gomamon!", Gabumon uttered. He was happy to meet the friendly digimon again.
"Gabumon! Oh, and Yamato!", the little seal digimon uttered as he realized who was standing beside him. It could only mean one thing.
"Then, does that mean Jyou is here too?", Yamato questioned.
"Yamato!", Jyou said and send him a cheerful smile.
Gomamon had taken them backstage to the kitchen, and now Yamato and Gabumon was standing there in the open kitchen door. They were watching Jyou work.
"Jyou!", Yamato greeted right back at him. "So, this is where you were".
"Um, yeah", Jyou mused. He looked a bit regretful now.
"Everyone else disappeared after what happened. Takeru and I are the only ones left", Yamato clarified. He did indeed want to hear his side of the story.
"Well about that...", Jyou mused slowly. "Remember how we all divided up the work and I went looking for food? Back then...".
Jyou and Gomamon were currently on their own in the desert looking for food when this bat like digimon approached them.
"You're a human, aren't you?", Pico Devimon asked. Jyou of course nodded to that.
"I thought so. I saw a lot of beings that looked like you not far from here", the bat digimon responded with.
"Eh?! So, there are really other humans besides us!", Jyou uttered happily.
"If you don't hurry, they'll disappear from our sights. Let's go! I'll take you there", Pico Devimon instructed.
All which made Jyou hesitate. He couldn't leave the others without given them a message that he was leaving. Or anything like that.
"Thank you... but...".
"Hurry, hurry. Let's go!".
The digimon shouted and began leaving without concerning itself about if Jyou and Gomamon was following him. It gave Jyou no time to think, and he and his digimon followed Pico Devimon.
"But along the way, we lost sight of him...", Jyou continued the story with. "Even when we tried to go back, we got so lost that we couldn't find a familiar landmark. Just when our stomachs were grumbling, we found this restaurant...".
Jyou and Gomamon were now sitting at a table at the restaurant with aching bellies. They had eaten so much. The food had been so good. There was just one problem...
"Thanks for your patronage", Veggiemon thanked as Jyou went up to the register to pay. He did have Japanese yen on him and thought he could use it here.
"Will this be enough?", Jyou asked and handed him the money.
"Sir don't joke around", Veggiemon snorted annoyed.
In just that moment another digimon, a Numemon, went over to the digimon and paid him a dollar bill. To the surprise of Jyou. That had many red flags in the boy's head now.
"A Dollar bill?", he said in a very nervous tone now.
"Of course. The boss loves his dollars!", Veggiemon sneered back at him.
"You... don't accept Japanese yen?", Jyou tried to negotiate with.
"Huh? What's that?". Now Jyou was in a huge pile of problems. The thought about running away, was entering his mind. Sadly, Veggiemon had finally caught on.
"Don't tell me... are you leaving without paying?!".
"So, now they are making you work to pay off your bills?". Yamato replied.
"Yeah. I didn't think it would turn out like this...", Jyou mused rather defeated.
"You are late!", Veggiemon shouted as he barged inside the kitchen, to get the food Jyou was preparing for them. "The customers are waiting! Hurry up and serve the food!".
Jyou quickly complied and began pouring the soup he was making onto a plate. Veggiemon of course took it and were about to go serve the customers when he noticed Yamato at the backdoor.
"Huh? Who are you?", he then asked.
"I'm his friend", Yamato replied with.
"Really? Well, never mind that. What are you doing back here? You got some business to take care of?".
"No, I...", But Yamato never finished the sentence, because of Veggiemon.
He had in that moment, taken a zip of the soup to test if it was good enough for the guests. He got really disappointed and in a fit of rage tossed the plate to the ground.
"This is nasty! How can I feed this to the customers?! Make a new one!", he yelled at Jyou. "I am adding more to your expenses while I am at it!".
"No way. Please...". Jyou looked completely crestfallen now.
"How long do you have to work to pay it off?", Yamato asked.
"Well, at first it was supposed to be for three days, but every time I screw up on something, it gets extended", Jyou replied halfheartedly. "Now, it is about two weeks". Veggiemon huffed annoyed at that.
"It's not my fault! I'm just taking back the losses I made on this guy!", the digimon defended.
Yamato was about to say something when another door to the kitchen opened up. An egg shaped like digimon with feet's entered.
"What's this? what's this? What is all the fuss about?", the digimon asked.
"Digitamamon sama!", Veggiemon quickly complied with respect. It was clear to Yamato that this new digimon were in charge here.
Digitamamon.
Perfect.
A perfect digimon.
Attribute: Data.
Special move: Nightmare Syndrome.
Digitamamon. A perfect level digimon shaped like a digi egg. His special attack Nightmare Syndrome securely crushes his opponents.
"Are you the owner of this place?", Yamato asked rather quickly. "This guy is my friend. Can't you let him go?".
"What are you saying? Quit your jokes", Digitamamon huffed. "It'll be a different story if you worked with him to pay of his debts, though".
"Well...", Yamato went silent. He couldn't do that. He had to get back to Takeru.
"If you can't do that, hurry up and leave. You are slowing down my business", Digitamamon dismissed and began leaving out of the door towards his own house at the end of the yard.
"Hey, I didn't even say...", Yamato uttered, but the digimon was long gone.
"I properly won't leave this place for the rest of my life", Jyou uttered defeated.
"Hey, don't get depressed!", Yamato tried to encourage. "Takeru is waiting for me. I'll bring him with me here, so wait for us until then. When I come back, I will help you with your work. Okay?". Jyou let out a cheerful shout.
"Yamato! I am in your debt!".
Digitamamon had just arrived at his house and soon found out he was not alone.
"Who's there?", he asked in a firm tone. It turned out to be Pico Devimon and furthermore he was having a stack of dollars at the table.
"Oh, Pico Devimon? What brings you here?", the digimon asked, but then he noticed the money at the table. "Oh, this is... I see. Well, what do you want me to do?".
"Oh, it is a very simple matter", the tiny devil digimon explained.
"Wait! Where are you going?!". Yamato turned surprised around, finding Digitamamon at the shore with him. Him and Gabumon had been about to leave when this egg digimon had approached them.
"Where...?", Yamato never finished the sentence, however.
"I want you to stay here and work with them", Digitamamon explained.
"Why bring that up all of the sudden?", Yamato questioned.
"Anyway, that's how things worked out", the digimon insisted.
"I don't mind working here, but I need to leave for a bit right now. I'll be sure to come back later", Yamato tried to explain. He had after all promised Takeru he would be back. At that the digimon crackled darkly now.
"Oh, should I take that to mean you don't care about what happens to your friend in the meantime?", Digitamamon then suddenly said.
"What do you mean?", Yamato questioned worriedly.
"Figure it out. While you're gone. I'll be free to do whatever I want with him", Digitamamon said and chuckled again.
"What?!", Yamato uttered horrified.
"Yamato, what should we do?", Gabumon also asked him. Yamato hissed annoyed. They were backed into a corner here.
In the end, Yamato had no other choice but to return to the restaurant and help Jyou work off his bills. However, it was not without notice from Jyou. They were both doing their work. Yamato took care of the cooking while Jyou took the dishes.
"Yamato? Didn't you say you were going back for Takeru?", He asked, making Yamato extremely tense. He continued: "Go. Don't worry about me. Okay? Go on! You can stop by again when I'm almost finished".
Yamato didn't say anything to that. How could he when he was forced into this situation. The words from Digitamamon were still ringing in his ears. Figure it out. While you are gone, I'll be free to do whatever I want to him. He decided then and there that he didn't want Jyou to be unnecessary worried about him. It would be better to pretend nothing had happened.
"No. that's okay", he replied to him with.
"Yamato? What happened to you?", Jyou asked him. "You're worried about Takeru, aren't you? Go back to him".
"I said, it is okay!", Yamato ended up shouting back at him. There was an awkward pause now, as Jyou was taking in the harsh words said to him.
"Did I say something wrong?", Jyou then asked in a low voice.
That indeed made Yamato stop up. In reality he didn't want to shout at his friend. He was just frustrated. Jyou said all that in consideration of me, but I...
"I am sorry. I am sorry for yelling at you. Don't worry about it", Yamato tried apologizing. "Leave the cooking to me. If we work together, we'll get out of here quicker. So, let's do our best together". Jyou was a bit surprised by that.
"You think so?", he asked rather perplexed. "I am sorry. I will never forget this favor".
It did indeed help both of them that their respective digimon partners were cheering them on as well. It gave them both the courage to continue on. What they didn't know however, was that this was a set up made by Pico Devimon, so that Yamato would never return, and thereby have Takeru lose all hope.
Time goes on and Veggiemon and Digitamamon is doing everything they can to keep Yamato and Jyou here working at the restaurant. It was relatively easy considering that Jyou was such a clutch in the kitchen. He dropped the food tray, burned the food in the stove, and ended up mixing up the orders for the customers. Every mistake expanded their stay here and it frustrated Yamato beyond belief. Right now, they were currently inside the kitchen where they were making soup. Jyou was there as well, being waiter, but he did have a very regretful look on his face.
"Yamato. I am sorry", Jyou apologized again. He was holding a tray of food. "I won't make any more mistakes from now on. I promise".
One he sadly couldn't keep. The silent treatment he was getting from Yamato was making him nervous and on edge.
I can't make any more mistakes. If I do, I'll cause more trouble for Yamato. I must never make any more mistakes. And with these thoughts alone, the pressure was on. It made his hands shake. So much in fact that it caused him to drop the tray he was holding. Soon the food and bowls were lying on the floor. Yamato was now sending him an angry look for his foul ups.
"Ah Yamato... I am sorry", Jyou apologized once again.
Yamato were holding in his frustration as he turned his attention to the food.
"It's okay", he responded in a surprisingly calm tone. "Don't worry about it". However, deep inside he was thinking differently.
"How long do I have to stay here? I promised Takeru that I will come for him".
Outside the kitchen, Pico Devimon were watching the scene with joy. Sure, he might have lost to Takeru and Patamon, but this was just as good. This time he wouldn't fail. Even though that servant of their master, weren't helping at all. It stated that his mission was only to defeat Taichi and his partner Agumon. Pico Devimon could live with that. At least it would not be a clutch to have around. Things are looking good. Now, all it needs is the finishing touch.
"Hey, have you finished peeling the potatoes yet?", the bat digimon could hear Yamato say.
That made Pico Devimon lit up. The potatoes were stationed outside the kitchen on this wooden plank who was being hold up by 4 brick made pillars. What if he took one of those bricks, making the plank unstable? That would surely make Jyou mess up badly. Enough to make Yamato snap and make it so that his crest would never glow. Just like his master ordered.
"I'll get them after I washed these", Jyou said.
"Just hurry up!", Yamato sneered which indeed made Jyou jump to it.
Pico Devimon didn't have much time. He quickly took one of the bricks and tossed it away. Then he flew up to the nearest tree to see the scene unfold. However, what he hadn't noticed was that there was someone close by who had been watching everything. While Pico Devimon were flying toward a tree branch, Sora and Piyomon had grabbed the tossed away brick and had placed it back to support the plank. All while making sure no one noticed them. Pico Devimon were staring in bewilderment when Jyou went to get the potatoes, and nothing happened.
"Now then... Eh why?", the bat digimon uttered stunned. Apparently, this whole set-up had been ruined somehow.
"Damn it! Never mind. Just watch. You're not getting off that easy", he swore.
The day at the restaurant were finally over, and Yamato were sitting at the beach playing his harmonica. He couldn't sleep and his mind always wandered to Takeru. He really hoped his little brother was fine. However, since Digitamamon were using Jyou as a hostage against him, he couldn't leave. No matter how much he wanted.
"That's a beautiful melody", a bat like digimon greeted him with. Yamato of course stopped playing and turned surprised around. He hadn't noticed at all that he was having company.
"Who are you?", he asked the digimon.
"Oh, just a bat digimon passing by", Pico Devimon lied innocently. "But it appears you're burdened with troubles heavier than mine.
"Eh? How did you...?", Yamato questioned rather bewildered.
"The melody from your instrument doesn't lie", Pico Devimon continued lying. "You're an honest and faithful person. You're sacrificing yourself for your friend".
"Ah. So, you know...", Yamato mused slowly.
"Yes. But your friend on the other hand, doesn't feel the same", the digimon said.
"Jyou? What about him?", Yamato asked curiously.
"I've heard he is making mistakes on purpose", the digimon responded with. "It's because he is afraid of being left behind on his own".
"Jyou would... Jyou would never do that!", Yamato defended him with.
"Hmm you are a good guy. Goodbye", Pico Devimon said and began flying away. However, the conversation had indeed planted a seed of doubt inside Yamato.
"Jyou is doing this on purpose?", he mused to himself.
Time skip.
"Please! I'll make sure to come back!", Yamato begged. "Just let me pick up my brother! Come on!".
They were currently back in the kitchen the next day, and Yamato was trying to get absence to leave in order to get Takeru. Just as he promised. Jyou were present there as well. He was doing the dishes. He had created quite a stack of plates. Digitamamon however, were shaking his head.
"No. Absolutely not", he said.
"Why? I promise to come back and work again!", Yamato sincerely promised.
But no matter what he said and did, Digitamamon was not moving an inch. It didn't help that in that moment Pico Devimon, who was hiding under the table, decided to punish them further, by tackling Jyou underneath the table. It caused Jyou to stumble and ended up hitting the giant stack of plates. They all scattered when hitting the ground.
"Both of you are working one more week!", Digitamamon decided.
"One more week? But I don't have that kind of time!", Yamato complained.
"What do I care? You will be working with him to reimburse everything", the digimon stated in a cruel tone.
"Damn it! Why?", Yamato uttered. He couldn't believe this was happening.
"No! That's not it! Someone bumped into my legs and knocked me over!", Jyou tried defending. "It wasn't me! I am telling the truth! Believe me!".
"Don't make excuses!", Yamato yelled at him.
The seed of doubt from Pico Devimon was making him believe Jyou had done this on purpose. In an angry fit, he stormed out of the kitchen, leaving Jyou behind.
"But it is the truth", Jyou mused surprised after him.
With Taichi and Takeru.
"Something's beeping", Takeru uttered surprised and looked at his digivice.
"Yeah. Our friends must be nearby", Taichi proclaimed.
"That's right. When we met you, Takeru, it started beeping too", Agumon explained. That made Takeru cheer up instantly.
"Then, we will be able to meet my brother?", he asked.
"Maybe", Taichi replied with.
They continued following the sound of the digivice and soon arrived at the restaurant. There they found Gomamon and Gabumon, as they were cleaning the now empty restaurant.
"Gomamon! Gabumon!", both chosen children greeted them with.
"It's Taichi!", Gomamon uttered surprised.
"And Takeru", Gabumon finished. They were both happy to see their friends.
"Gabumon. Where is my brother?", Takeru of course asked right away.
"Is Jyou here too?", Taichi followed up with.
"Yeah. He is here. But...". The seal digimon was very hesitant now. Both Takeru and Taichi did not understand what was going on.
"But...?".
However instead of explaining themselves, they took them with them to the kitchen where they met an ecstatic Jyou.
"Taichi! You are alive! I was worried about you", Jyou said half-heartedly.
"Sorry. A lot of stuff happened", Taichi apologized with.
"Hey, where is my brother? He is here, isn't he?", Takeru asked about again.
Jyou did not reply to him on that. But his gaze did flicker to the backdoor leading outside. Takeru caught that, and quickly rushed through the door to find his brother. Taichi who had noticed the tension, were beginning to ask questions.
"Jyou? what's wrong?".
Yamato was lying in the grass, looking at the sky, when Takeru's face popped up all of the sudden. It surprised him a big deal.
"Onii-chan!", Takeru uttered happily and hugged his brother like there was no tomorrow. "I finally get to see you again".
"Takeru?! How did you...?", Yamato asked rather perplexed.
"I came with Taichi", Takeru explained and pointed at the male, who just entered the garden as well. Yamato was of course a bit surprised by that.
"Taichi? You are alive?", he asked. He couldn't believe what he was seeing.
"He. I am not kicking the bucket before you, you know", Taichi huffed in remark.
"Oh yeah? Sorry. Thank you for taking care of Takeru", he thanked.
"Don't worry about it", Taichi replied back with and smiled.
"I am sorry Takeru", Yamato apologized as well. "I couldn't keep my promise to come and get you". Takeru just smiled at that.
"That's okay. We were able to see each other again", Takeru responded with.
"Anyway, I am glad you are safe", Yamato said. All his worries about Takeru were finally settling down.
"Putting that aside. It doesn't look like anyone's around. So, let's just get out of here", Taichi suggested with.
"Eh? You want us to run away?" Gabumon questioned surprised.
"Yeah. Let's hurry up and look for the others together", He suggested.
"I don't want to", Yamato instantly replied with in a cold tone. Everyone was looking shocked at him now, so he continued. "I don't mind running away from here, but I won't go with Jyou. He'll only drag us down if he stays with us".
They were all taken aback by those words. Especially Jyou since those hurtful words from Yamato was directly directed towards him.
"How can you say that?! We are all friends!", Taichi tried to reason with.
"What do you mean, friends? You keep dragging everyone around at your own convenience. Thanks to all that I am worn out!", Yamato yelled at them, before turning his back to them. "Just do whatever you want on your own. I am going with Takeru and that's it. Leave us alone!".
"Wh-what? But...". Taichi was completely speechless.
"Onii-chan what's wrong? We're all friends...", Takeru also tried with.
"Shut up!", Yamato yelled back at him. "You just have to stay quiet and follow me".
Sadly, all that yelling, and shouting had of course gotten the attention of the restaurant owner and his waiter. So much for running away.
"Everyone. You wouldn't be thinking of fleeing from here, are you?", Digitamamon asked. His yellow eyes narrowed suspiciously.
"It'll give us trouble if you did that", Pico Devimon added from the tree branch he was sitting on. Everyone of course looked towards him.
"Huh? That's..." Takeru began with and Patamon finished "Pico Devimon!".
"He's an evil digimon who tried to trick Takeru", Agumon clarified.
"Wait what?", Yamato uttered surprised.
"Then, when you mentioned there were humans around... It was all a lie!" Jyou concluded in an angry tone.
"Damn it! I won't forgive you!", Taichi shouted and made Agumon fire a "Baby flame" at him.
Patamon followed up with an "Air Shot" attack too. All which made the little bat digimon run for cover. It dodged all the attacks and went for the forest.
"Wait you are not getting away!", Taichi shouted and ran after it.
In the meantime, Jyou, Takeru and Yamato were up against Digitamamon.
"You've got guts trying to shrink your payments and escape", the digimon stated.
"What are you talking about? Our debts should have already been more than paid for!", Yamato sneered back at him. It was first now he realized he had been tricked.
"That's true. You were very good workers. Let me give back your change", the digimon stated.
He inflated, closed his shell, and attacked. Yamato barely managed to dodge. Had he hit him, he was sure he had been done for.
"The next one won't miss", the digimon also stated. Yamato didn't have a choice as he made Gabumon evolve.
"Gabumon Shinka Garurumon!".
"Fox fire!", Garurumon shouted and made his special attack hit the digimon. Sadly, it had no effect. His shell was just too hard.
"Attacks won't work against Digitamamon once he sealed himself within his shell", Gomamon informed them.
All which had been too late. Garurumon had left himself wide open for an attack. Digitamamon headbutted him, sending the wolf digimon to the ground with one hard blow.
"Garurumon!", Yamato shouted and rushed over to his partner. He didn't know what to do. Only that they had to win somehow.
"Help me!", they could suddenly hear Takeru say.
It made Yamato turn towards the sound and found Veggiemon hanging in one of his vines at the edge of the roof. In his other viny hand, he was holding around Takeru's foot. Meaning Takeru was hanging from high attitude with his head, first towards the ground.
"If you keep putting up a struggle, I can't guarantee that boy will live", Digitamamon said and chuckled darkly. "That includes your digimon too".
To prove a point, Digitamamon attacked Garurumon who finally had managed to get up, again. Making the digimon hit the rocky wall of a boulder.
"Onii-chan. Help me!", Takeru shouted fearfully, which did not help the situation.
"Damn it! That is unfair!", Jyou shouted back. "I won't forgive you!".
"Gomamon Shinka Ikkakumon!".
Ikkakumon charged at Veggiemon with its horn to get Takeru free. However, in reality it was a distraction so Jyou could climb up on the roof undetected.
"Whoa. What are you doing? If you do that, I am not responsible for what happens to this little guy", Veggiemon warned.
In just that moment, Jyou were just above the plant digimon, and were now charging at it with full speed. It of course caused Veggiemon to let go of Takeru and defend against the upcoming attack. Yamato used this opportunity to catch Takeru before he hit the ground. Sadly, that put Jyou in quite a situation. The only reason he had won that first round was because he had caught Veggiemon off guard. Now, he was tangled up in its wines and squeezed harshly.
"Jyou-san?", Takeru questioned. He couldn't believe he was that brave.
"Why...?", Yamato also asked.
"Up until now... I've put up with everything because you said we should do our best together, Yamato", Jyou replied while catching his breath once in a while. "So, this time, I'll...Ikkakumon! Save everyone!".
And by that determined order, Ikkakumon charged at Digitamamon with its horn. For an egg like digimon it was very agile.
"I'll squeeze you even harder if you do that", Veggiemon warned.
"Jyou...", Yamato uttered rather stunned.
"Don't mind me, hurry up and defeat Digitamamon! Forget about me!", Jyou instead encouraged.
Yamato couldn't understand his actions at all. I... I said those horrible things, but... In just that moment Jyou let out a painful grasp, which got Yamato's attention right away. He couldn't help but shout his friend's name. As he did, the light from his crest glowed underneath his shirt. By Jyou's instructions, he made Garurumon get up and help Ikkakumon in the battle against Digitamamon.
"I could wipe the floor with you two if I seriously wanted to", Digitamamon told them confidently. "You might not believe me, but it is true".
Then he fired his special attack called "Nightmare Syndrome". As he opened up his shell again, this evil enigma flew out of it, and hit both digimon at the same time. It swallowed up both digimon, and for a time, Yamato had no clue what was going on. Then this black ball spit them both out again, leaving both Ikkakumon and Garurumon beaten and bruised. Who knows what nightmare they had been witnessing in there?
"He is too strong! It is no use! We can't win!", Takeru uttered rather fearfully.
"No! That is not true. It will work out somehow!", Yamato shouted courageously. "I won't forget it anymore. I can't forget it! My friends... the feeling of believing in my friends. Our friendship!".
It was like his tag had only been waiting for these words, because in that moment, Garurumon was hit with a strange light. His digivice even changed from hell blue color to purple now.
(here is a video by the way)
https://youtu.be/4hjtD3qqXrA
"Garurumon Chou Shinka... Weregarurumon!".
In Garurumon's place was now this bipedal werewolf standing. Dressed up in cool pirate pants, armor at his left shoulder and knees, as well as a belt strop on his chest, he looked kinda bad ass. The brass knuckle at his hands helped him to look even cooler.
Weregarurumon.
Perfect.
Beast man digimon.
Attribute: Vaccine.
Special attack: Kaiser nail.
Weregarurumon. Evolved from Garurumon, this beast man type digimon can walk on two legs. With his sharp claw, his special attack Kaiser nail can rip through his enemies.
"Weregarurumon huh? We will see about that", Digitamamon huffed.
He fired his special attack "Nightmare syndrome" again. However, Weregarurumon was ready to face it with his own special attack "Kaiser nail". He grabbed the attack with his claws now and trying to hold it back from hurting anyone.
"Don't dare take a single step back! Weregarurumon!", Yamato encouraged his digimon with.
Weregarurumon let out a fierce growl as it listened to his human partner. With fierce determination, the digimon did indeed not take one step backwards. He was holding his stand, and in the end managed to push the attack back at Digitamamon. All with resulted in that the digimon got send flying. Yamato and the others considered this a victory.
"No-No way. They defeated Digitamamon", Veggiemon uttered rather surprised.
"Veggiemon! Let go of Jyou right now!", Yamato shouted at the digimon.
"Or do you want to fight me too?", Weregarurumon added in.
"No. thank you!", Veggiemon uttered rather scared and let go of Jyou, before it began running away. Takeru ran over to his brother to give him a big hug.
"Jyou rescued me", Takeru pointed out. It was his way of telling them to stay friend. Yamato nodded. He still couldn't believe how Jyou had been thought all this.
"You were so cool Jyou", Gomamon added. Now that the battle had entered, the digimon had returned to their base state. Or in this case Weregarurumon had denigrated down to Tsunomon again, because of all the energy he had used.
"Really, really", Tsunomon added in. That made Jyou blush.
"Jyou..."Yamato then said and got his attention. "Thank you... for saving Takeru".
"That's okay. After all, you're always saving me", Jyou replied with.
"Also...". Yamato was bead red in the face now. "I'm sorry...". That only made Jyou laugh a bit. He was glad they were friends again. However, then he suddenly looked around rather surprised.
"Hey, have any of you seen Taichi?", he asked.
"Huh? Now that you mention it, Agumon is gone too", Yamato stated.
With Taichi.
"Wait, Picodevimon!", Taichi yelled ferociously as he followed the little bat digimon.
He would leave Yamato, Jyou and Takeru to deal with Digitamamon. He was sure, if they all three worked together, they could defeat it. He knew how strong his friends were. It was much more important to take care of Pico Devimon. A thought that actually made Taichi stop up. That didn't sound right. Digitamamon was on perfect level. Pico Devimon was a child level digimon. Patamon could defeat it. So why, why was he chasing after it again? He couldn't quite explain it really. Something, other than chasing Pico Devimon had drawn him here.
"Welcome!", a voice suddenly ran through the area. Taichi first now realized that he was in some forest of some kind.
"Agumon, where are we?" Taichi asked his partner.
"I don't know. You suddenly began running, and I had a tough time keeping up with you to notice where we were going", Agumon replied. "Don't you know why you are here yourself?". Taichi bit his lip a little.
"Something, something called me here", Taichi admitted and felt like an idiot. "Ahr that doesn't even make sense!". A chuckling voice could now be heard.
"I see you fell for my spell. That is perfect, then we will not be disturbed". Taichi clenched his hands a little, and looked around, trying to find whoever the voice belonged to. He couldn't see anyone, however.
"Who are you? Show yourself!", He yelled out loud. The voice chuckled again.
"Up here, chosen child", he could then hear them say, and Taichi followed the sound.
Up on a branch of a three was a cloaked person sitting and were surely looking down on him. Taichi couldn't see his face, because of the hoodie he was having on though.
"Who are you?!", Taichi shouted angrily. "Are you some kind of digimon?".
"Hmm you could say that", the being said and jumped down from the branch. "You could also be wrong. What I truly am, is up to you to decide".
"Ahr stop talking in riddles", Taichi sneered and looked at Agumon. "Agumon is he a digimon?". Agumon sniffed a little. Then he looked rather surprised.
"Taichi, he smells weird. I don't like it", his partner then said. "He does smell like a digimon, but then again not. Be careful".
"Careful is not my style Agumon. You know that better than anyone.", Taichi replied and smiled. Then turned towards this weird stranger. "So, what do you want, you who doesn't smell like a real digimon?".
"Pretty simple. Give me your crest. My master wants it", the stranger replied. "If you do that, no one else gets hurt. At least for now". Taichi glared angry at the stranger.
"Yeah, over my death body", he replied and Agumon huffed in agreement as well.
"I thought you would say that", the stranger replied and cracked his knuckles. "Guess we are doing it the hard way".
"You wish. Agumon Shinka!", Taichi yelled, and his partner nodded eagerly.
However, before anyone could do anything a whirlwind of several leaf's unexpectedly appeared. It was whirling around both of them and covered their vision for a sec. When it finally disappeared, a dreadful sight meets Taichi's eyes.
"Agumon!", the chosen child yelled and ran over to his partner who now were chained to one of the trees by some weird, shaped leaf's. Taichi tried pulling them out, but he didn't have the strength. They even cut his hand. He looked at his partner.
"Agumon Shinka!" he then ordered.
His partner nodded and concentrated. He tried evolving into Greymon, but sadly nothing happened.
"I believe you need this for it to work, chosen child", the cloaked stranger said and was holding up his digivice.
"When did you get hold on my digivice?", Taichi sneered. The stranger chuckled.
"Just now. But you can get it back if you beat me Yagami Taichi", he then said. "Your crest, however, is not that easy to steal since it is around your neck, and not in the belt strop in your pants". Taichi glared at the stranger now. What was this person problem? Not that Taichi would ever back down from a fight.
"Oh, I will beat you alright. You seem to know a lot about me", Taichi sneered and clenched his fists. "And how do you know my full name too? Why is that? Who are you?". At that the stranger chuckled darkly.
"My name is of no importance", it stated and shrugged. "But I guess I could let you see my face. It will be the last thing you will see before you die".
Then the stranger tossed his hoodie back. Brown long hair was the first thing Taichi noticed. Then this weird red mask on his face, who covered his red eyes. It was shaped as a bat. A black choker was around his neck too. With the black cloak he was wearing it made Taichi think of a costume for Halloween of some kind. It did not help that this being's body physics were in shape and size of a human. It made Taichi narrowed his eyes suspiciously. Was this a human being or an actual digimon? Gennai looked like a human, but he has never been confirmed as one. At least not yet. Maybe this, boy were in the same category?
Taichi however, didn't time to think about it since a fist was flying straight for him and his face. Taichi did manage to evade in the nick of time.
"You are so annoying you know that", this weird boy said. "Always reckless. Doing foolish things, and now trying to gather the chosen children once again. With you gone, the other children are easy pickings for my master".
"You wish", Taichi sneered back in a fierce tone. "Now give me back my digivice!".
To back his words up, Taichi went for a straight punch to its face. In reality it was a distraction thou, to get his digivice back. Sadly, it backfired on him. This boy caught his punch with his digivice free hand, pulled him closer and kneed him in abdomen.
"You are so predictable Yagami", the boy mused and chuckled again. To tease Taichi further he tossed the stolen digivice up and down in his hand, before placing it inside his cloak.
"I know your goal is to get your holy device back, so you can use Greymon to beat me", the boy continued with "Your whole strategy revolves around that. I on the other hand, just need to beat you. Plain and simple".
With fast footwear and attacks, the stranger attacked again. He was quick, Taichi would give him that. Maybe even too quick. He barely noticed the attacks before it was too late. That, however, didn't mean Taichi didn't try to put up a valiant fight. It just wasn't enough. The boy either caught all Taichi's punches or evaded them.
"Where are you aiming Yagami?", the stranger mocked and caught his punch again. "But then again, I know all your moves before you do. You can't win".
Taichi sneered angrily and threw another punch with his free arm, who surprisingly hit. That was only until he realized the stranger, had let it slide. He had been busy with getting a whip out from underneath its clothes. With fast speed, he tied the whip around Taichi's ankles. All which caused him to fall to the ground.
"Taichi!" Agumon shouted worriedly from his spot at the tree.
The yellow dino digimon were trying to get free of course. He wanted to aid his partner. Taichi groaned annoyed and tried to get up, but soon found that impossible. The boy had placed a foot at his back, pushing him downwards once again.
"I will have nothing of that sort", the boy said and grinned. "I have played enough with you for now. So, let's gets to the matter at hand. Your tag with your crest...".
Taichi could feel how he got pulled upwards, with arms tied behind his back. His back hit the chest of this weird boy looking digimon. A hand touched his neck and he felt how it moved a very familiar object away from him. His tag and crest were now in the stranger's possession. Taichi hissed angrily. How could he get out of this predicament he was in? He needed to get free and claim his things back again.
"So, what to do about you? Hmm", the boy questioned and hummed thoughtfully. "I could let you live. Wandering the world, feeling the distress of being useless to your partner and comrades. But then again, not sure Master would approve of that. I also could take you with me, and let master decide your fate. Unless he wants me to kill you right here on the spot. He is tricky figuring out sometimes".
Taichi hissed as he tried getting free of his captors hold, but the boy was having a firm grip in him. Taichi couldn't believe this. How? How did it turn out like this? Agumon and I came to save this world. Not to make it worse. How can he read all my moves? Is he a mind reader or am I just so easy to figure out?! Damn it! What to do?!
"If your opponent knows all your moves, then try create new ones" a voice suddenly ran through Taichi's head.
He sneered angrily inside now. That moron. That worthless Ryuhei, just had to invade his thoughts right now?! He still remembered the fight they had in the past, and the conversation that followed. He couldn't believe he had to use the advice giving to him. That Damn know it all.
"You will never succeed!", Taichi shouted and got his captors attention. "You and your so-called master will never succeed. I will break free at some point, and then Hell is loose".
To prove his point, he began to struggle once again. He could hear how the boy chuckled darkly behind him. At the corner of his eyes, he could see him, and Taichi he felt how the boy pulled him closer. He had done that every time, Taichi had been struggling against him. Only this time Taichi had a plan.
"Oh really? And how will you escape if I might ask?", the boy questioned.
"Like this!", Taichi yelled and pulled himself backwards with all his might.
That caught his captor off guard, and with the moment of surprise, Taichi headbutted the boy, hitting his chin, making him fall backwards. It gave Taichi an opportunity to quickly grab his tag and placed it around his neck. The boy let out an annoyed groan.
"Damn I got careless", he sneered and got up on his feet.
"And overconfident", Taichi said and were now the one who attacked without warning.
The stranger was caught off guard. Taichi's punch collided with the boy's face seconds later. Or to be more specific. It hit the boy's chin and pierced his mask. The being let out a surprised gasp. All which enabled Taichi a chance to get his hand inside the cloak and get his digivice back. Now he was having all the advantages.
"Damn I didn't think you actually listened", the boy then uttered.
He had grabbed around the crumbling mask in an attempt to prevent it from crumbling. It was a lost cause thou as pieces from his face and mask were falling to the ground now. Taichi's eyes widened in surprise by that. Apparently, the bat shaped mask wasn't the true mask. His whole face was covered in one. Taichi could see cracks surface all over this mask. His whole left side was beginning to get revealed now. A tot of blond hair was also shown, along with one blue colored eye. It was staring back at him, even though the boy tried covering everything up with his left hand. Taichi frowned a little. There was something wrong here. Taichi were sure he... well there were just something familiar over the boy now, but he couldn't put his finger on what it was.
"Ahr he will not be pleased. Master will not be pleased with me", the boy screamed up and sent Taichi a cold glare. "Until next time Yagami. Just you wait until next time. You won't get off that easy!".
Then the same whirlwind of leaf's appeared and as soon as Taichi could see again, the boy or digimon, or whatever, had disappeared.
"Taichi!", Agumon yelled and now rushed to his partner's aid. Since the stranger had left, Agumon had freed himself from those hard piercing leaf's as well.
"Taichi are you okay?" he questioned. Taichi nodded slightly.
"Yeah, but who was this guy? He questioned. Agumon shrugged to that. He had no clue either.
AN: And cut. The chapter was getting way too long. Besides, there is only small details left. It is nothing I can't mention in the next one. So, what do you think? Did I surprise you at the end? Anyone who has figured out who the stranger is? Would love feedback on that and the story itself. The next chapter is the part with Koushiro and Tentomon. Not one of my favorites, but the chapter afterwards is, so might keep me motivated. Hope you all found it interesting though.
