To save Sora when she was kidnapped by Nanomon, Taichi decided to battle against Etemon. Just then, the power of his crest activated and Agumon evolved further into Metalgreymon. However, just when Metalgreymon won, a crack appeared in the dimension, swallowing both him and Taichi into it. When they came to, the place where Taichi and Koromon found themselves in was...

Taichi and Koromon was literally staring as they found themselves, at least in Taichi's case, somewhere familiar. The sound of an Airplane flying above their heads. The sight of humans as they walked past on the street like this was a normal day to day life, had both Koromon and Taichi staring in awe. Koromon more than he, but that was understandable since he had never seen this many humans before. For Taichi however, it was more like he couldn't believe it. They had fought Etemon just now and won. That had not been a dream, because Agumon, no Koromon, was here beside him. In the real world and that Taichi just couldn't fandom.

"Th-there are humans everywhere!" Koromon then uttered completely stunned now.

"It can't be" Taichi then added in "It can't be! We're come back to our world? Is this because I won? I mean did we all win. This isn't a dream, right?".

Koromon was about to reply him when a little plastic ball hit him hardcore in the face. A little girl, a little bit younger than his little sister, ran over and picked up the ball she had kicked and were about to return to from which she came, when Taichi grabbed her hand.

"Hey, you! Where am I? This is still Japan, right? Or am I still in the digital world?" He began asking her in a wild frensy. The girl was just staring at him like he was nuts and who could really blame her.

"Where is Etemon and the others?!" Koromon then also began asking.

"Yes, please answer us!" Taichi added in rather desperately. All that did, however, was making the girl cry. She got out of Taichi's grip and began calling her mom to everyone's surprise. Including Koromon.

"Taichi, you shouldn't make her cry like that!" his digimon inquired.

"You are such a moron. She is crying because she saw you!" Taichi reprimanded.

"Ah! What? Me?!" Koromon uttered in disbelief "Am I scary? Hey, am I?".

He would properly have said more when Taichi grabbed around him and covered his mouth. Right now, everyone else had stopped up to look at Koromon since he was unusual and Taichi really couldn't blame them.

"Don't talk! You will just stand out!" Taichi replied as he began running away with Koromon in his arms, who was still talking even with his mouth covering him asking "But Taichi, am I really that scary?!".

Time skip.

Taichi were looking around to see if he could notice anything familiar and to his big surprise, he was not far from home. He could see the giant Ferris wheel and television in the background and knew right away that he and Koromon had been teleported to Odaiba park. It got completely confirmed when Taichi was standing at the giant sign that said "Odaiba seaside park station". Taichi couldn't be more thrilled.

"Odaiba! There is no doubt about it now. This is even near my place!" Taichi uttered happily as he were carrying Koromon around like he was a stuffed animal.

"Your place?" Koromon questioned confused as he tried to read the sign. '

"I am back in Japan! I am back!" Taichi uttered happily as he pulled Koromon into a giant hug. He was just so happy he couldn't contain himself.

"It must be because we got sucked into that rift" Taichi continued as he finally had stopped squeezing Koromon "That's gotta be the reason why you're back as Koromon instead of Agumon. But it does not matter. We did it!".

Koromon who had just been staring since Taichi's heart filled hug, smiled back at him, and said:

"That's great Taichi!". Only to be squeezed into another hug by Taichi. He was just so relieved to be home once again.

Soon they were walking down the streets towards Taichi's home. That being an apartment building somewhere close to the park.

"Take a look Koromon. This is where I live" Taichi explained as he pointed at this tall apartment building. Koromon's eyes widened in awe now.

"No way! It is so BIG!" the digimon then uttered.

Taichi just chuckled at that. He didn't want to explain that his apartment was only a little piece of this building. No instead he began walking inside and up to that floor he was living at. Soon he was standing in front of the apartment door, with a nervous beating heart. It had been so long since he had been here that he had worried he might not ever see his home again. Luckily for him, he was back.

"I wonder how my mom and dad are doing. I've been completely off the radar, so they must really have been worried about me" Taichi mused out loud.

"Taichi, hurry up and greet them!" Koromon encouraged.

"Yeah, you're right" Taichi replied as he grabbed around the handle to the front door.

However, as he did, another thought entered his mind. He had no clue on how long he had been gone. How long had he been in that digital world? A month? A year? Or maybe even longer. That thought alone scared Taichi to no end, because what if his parents and sister had already forgotten about him. What if he opened that door and someone else were living here, asking him who he was and what he was doing here?

"Taichi?" he could then hear Koromon say as the little digimon was looking up at him with a worried expression. "Are you okay?".

Taichi chuckled a little half-heartedly. He hadn't realized how long he had just been standing there staring at the door. It was no wonder Koromon was worried about him.

"Eh yeah I am okay" Taichi mused as he finally decided to open the door. "I'm Home. I mean excuse me".

He entered the apartment shortly after and were once again staring as the whole apartment came into sight. He could recognize everything. The living room, the small entry. The little kitchen a bit away from the living room as well as the two bedrooms at the door to his left. The one for him and his sister and the bigger room for his parents.

"This... this Is my home!" Taichi then uttered as the door behind him slammed shut "I mean of course it is!". He laughed a little at his stupidness. Of course, he was living here. He could hear Koromon hum thoughtfully at that.

"It's much smaller than it looked" the digimon then commented which only made Taichi shout at him to 'shut up!'.

The first thing he did when getting inside, besides getting his shoes off and placing Koromon on the desk at the table, was grabbing a can of coke out of the refrigerator.

"Does it taste good? Does it?" Koromon asked curiously when Taichi began gulping down the drink in a really fast pace.

It had been so long since he had a coke. Or at least it felt like that to him. He was sighing in complete bliss as he finished his drink.

"Delicious! How long has it been since I had a cola?" Taichi then asked himself. all which made Koromon flip completely out.

"Gimme. Gimme. Gimme. Gimme!" He shouted in repeat over and over again until Taichi gave in and opened a coke for him to drink. He could still not believe that he was back home again.

"But hmm I wonder what day it is today. It looks like it is still summer?" He asked himself as he turned his attention to the calendar hanging on the refrigerator. Then he flipped completely out himself. So much in fact that Koromon got worried something bad was happening and spit out the coke from his mouth so he could protect him.

"What's wrong Taichi?".

"It's august... Today is still August 1st, 1999!" Taichi uttered in complete shock.

"And that means...?" Koromon questioned rather confused.

"August the first, 1999 was the day...when we all left for camping!" Taichi continued in pure disbelief. "What is going on? It should have taken days, even months, being in the other world. We walked for so many days. We fought so many digimon. So, why is it still August the 1st? Why is it still afternoon of that day?". His eyes flickered to the clock hanging at the wall. The time were only 12.30 in the afternoon. How was that possible?

"Did I get so homesick that I am dreaming right now?" Taichi questioned confused "Or maybe the time I spent in the other world was all a dream and I really collapsed in that park? This is unreal!".

"Taichi..." Koromon began quirking in a faint voice.

Taichi didn't hear him. He was completely lost in thoughts, so Koromon had to at least shout his name twice again. Each in a higher volume than before.

"Koromon, what's wrong?" Taichi then asked, only for the little digimon to turn his head slightly to the other side to indicate that someone else was in the room.

Taichi turned surprised around and found himself face to face with a girl who were years younger than himself. She had just emerged from the other side of the door to one of the rooms in this apartment. She was staring at him though. At him and Koromon.

"Hikari..." Taichi mused surprised and cursed himself inside for forgetting that his little sister could or would be home today.

"Onii chan... you're back home..." she greeted him a drowsy voice which clearly stated that she had just been in the other room sleeping. Not that the pink PJ and her precious flute around her neck wasn't any indication though.

"Y-yeah..." Taichi mused slowly. He didn't know what he should say. After all he did bring home a weird looking creature who was sitting on the kitchen desk.

"Onii chan? Does that mean she is your little sister?" Koromon questioned surprised.

"I told you not to talk!" Taichi hissed back as he grabbed around Koromon and tried to make him silent by covering his mouth. It did not go well.

"Hikari, it's not what you think. This guy is...".

"Koromon is with you?" Hikari then suddenly countered which silenced both Koromon and Taichi right away. She sent them a little smile before continuing "So, Koromon came back with you. I am glad".

"You're... you're not scared of him?" Taichi questioned in disbelief.

"Why should I be?" Hikari asked in a puzzled tone.

"How do you even know his name anyway?" Taichi then asked her.

"Because... because Koromon is Koromon" she replied in her own childish logic.

Soon Hikari and Koromon were playing together on the couch while Taichi still tried to grasp the fact that Hikari was home and knew of Koromon's name.

"Hikari, you've been home all this time, right?" he then asked his sister.

"Yeah, I have a cold" Hikari responded.

"So, you didn't go to the other world or something like we did, did you?" Taichi asked which made Hikari look up at him very confused.

"The other world?" she asked.

"Uh, never mind" Taichi quickly covered. There was just no way she would. He instead asked, "Where is Mom and Dad?".

"They went to visit grandma. They told us this morning, remember?" Hikari said.

"Oh... oh yeah, they did" Taichi half lied as he tried to remember what happened before he went to camp. After all that happened in that other world it was a bit hard.

"But... Onii chan why are you at home?" Hikari questioned.

"Because...um... because I was worried about you. Have your fever gone down?" Taichi quickly tried to cover up with and leaned down to check her forehead and later compare it with his own. Hikari let him do it. It showed how much trust she was having in her big brother.

"Onii chan... Where did you really go?" Hikari then asked, which cleared stated she had seen through his lies "By the 'other world' you mean the world where Koromon is right?". That left Taichi rather speechless.

"You weren't in camp like everyone else, were you?" she then asked further into.

"Well..." Taichi began, but then something dawned to him "That's right. Maybe Yamato and the others came back here too".

Soon he was at the phone, as he dialed Koushiro's number and were soon talking to his mother, asking if he could speak to Koushiro, only for him to realize that his mother still believed he was at summer camp and had to come up with a weird excuse for why he was not there. He tried again as he was soon dialing Sora's number, but it still gave the same result. Sora was at the summer camp too. It went on and on. Until Taichi in the end gave up.

"No one is back. Are those guys still in the other world?" Taichi thought to himself as he was holding up the digivice in his hand now "Or maybe I really am the only one who's dreaming? Which is real? Or are both of them a dream? Are both of them real?". Taichi shook his head in pure confusion. He didn't know what to think.

"Onii chan?" he could then hear Hikari say which all brought him back to reality. He turned his attention to her as she was showing him a small portion of food on the table. Clearly the ration their parents had left Hikari to eat when they left to visit their grandma. "I only have my share, but we can split it".

"Wah! Food!" Koromon uttered in an ecstatic drooling voice.

"Oh, thank you" Taichi began as an idea struck him. "Wait a little bit...".

Eggs were soon in a bowl as he whipped them up with chopsticks before putting it on a frying pan. The aroma from the food was delicious. Taichi tossed the egg dough up and down on the frying pan and soon he had created a really awesome omelet. All which he split up in three pieces. One on each plate for each of them. Soon they were all assembled on the table and were about to eat.

"Let's eat!" Taichi proclaimed and both him and Koromon tossed themselves over the food like a mad man.

Because of the events in the digital world, eating such delicious food were almost a blessing. That and the fear of never eating overcame them. Hikari were just staring at them, before she ate a tiny piece of the omelet on her spoon. Her eyes widened in disbelief at what she tasted.

"It is delicious" she claimed in a small voice.

"Really?" Taichi questioned before he tossed himself over his plate again. '

"Yes" Hikari answered with in a puzzled tone "Were you always this good at cooking?".

Taichi began explaining, with his mouth full of course, how Yamato taught him in the other world. But also added that he always has been able to do something out of eggs of course. Hikari was just staring at him,

"You can have this too" She then stated and pushed her plate over towards her big brother. She wasn't that hungry.

"Really?!" Koromon chimed cheerfully and when she agreed, it began eating her share of the food too.

Soon after that every scrap of food was eaten and Taichi and Koromon were relaxing on the chair and trying to digest all the food they had eaten.

"I am stuffed!" Taichi proclaimed "I cannot eat another bite!". Only for Koromon to turn his almost pale face now towards Taichi.

"Taichi..." He said in a muffed voice. But no other words were coming from him.

"Koromon what is wrong?" Hikari questioned. Both, the Yagami children were asking about him now, only for Koromon to make huge smelly crap on the table.

Seconds later you could find him at the bathroom finishing his smelly business.

"I am so sorry Taichi" his partner apologized. "I am sorry too Hikari. I am helpless when it comes to holding it".

"I know" Hikari responded with "I used to wet the bed a lot, but my brother would always help me. He'll wash my underwear in the middle of the night, and later pretend he was the one who wet it. He is really nice".

"Yeah" Koromon agreed astounded.

Later that afternoon we could find Taichi lying lazily at the couch with the air conditioner on listening to the music on the tv.

"Ah it is such a cool breeze" Taichi mused happily "Home is great. How long has it been since...? Nah it is weird saying that. Because today is still August the 1.st. Ah! I don't care which is dream and which is reality anymore".

He yawned a little and at some point, he began drifting into sleep. He only awakened when the sound of the newscaster in the television could be heard.

"This is the afternoon news for August 1.st." the newscaster started off with "Our main story is the abnormal weather we've been having as of late. In the southeast Asia, the paddy fields have been dried up from drought. This has become a major problem for the citizens...".

As the news station showed the sight of south Asia, Taichi's eyes widened in horror. There in the middle of the field was a Meramon standing. A new sight was shown.

"Heavy rains are savagely flooding middle east. In north America, snow is falling even though it is in the middle of the summer".

As the newscast continued there Taichi noticed a Seadramon in the middle east and a Yukidarumon in America. Both shown in the footage of the news.

"It can't be. Three digimon..." He uttered out in surprise. He could still not believe what he had been witnessing "This is not because of abnormal weather! The rift from the digital world is affection our world!".

"Are you able to see them now too Onii chan?" Hikari then suddenly said. She was standing in the living room now, holding Koromon in her arms. It was clear to see that she had also been watching the newscast just now.

"Hu? Wait you can see them Hikari?" Taichi questioned bewildered. ¨

"I could for a long time now" Hikari confirmed "But if I told anyone about it, no one would believe me". Taichi was literally staring at his little sister now.

"Hikari..." he mused out.

He was not sure what to tell her right now since he had no clue what to do himself. Then suddenly, all electronic in the house went off. That being the tv and the air conditioner just now. Taichi could feel something vibrate in the pocket of his pants and soon pulled out the digivice. It was glowing in a weird, strange light. The computer in the living room then suddenly went on catching both Hikari and Taichi's attention. On an extremely blurry footage was Koushiro actually present and it sounded like he was trying to call out to them.

"Taichi-san. Tai-chi-san..." he said in a weird static voice.

"Kou... Koushiro!" Taichi uttered and rushed over to the computer. "Koushiro! It is me! Taichi!". He shouted that last part out with a lot of vigor.

"Ta-Taichi-san... where are you right now...?" Koushiro asked. Even though the footage was blurry, he looked really off somehow. That and the scenery was not one Taichi could recognize at all.

"At home! I'm back in the real world! Koromon is with me too!" Taichi shouted back to him in hopes that he could hear him. That did seem to be the case even though the connection was bad.

"I see... then over here..." Koushiro tried saying, but in that minute the connection went really bad, and the picture began being pixilated.

"Hey, Koushiro! I can't hear you!" Taichi shouted in hopes that he could hear him. Once again, the picture returned with Koushiro in it.

"You...Not com... back here...please..." he said and Taichi had no clue if that meant they needed him or if he wanted him to stay where he was.

It was all so confusing. That however, had been the last juice the computer had, and the screen turned dark, leaving Taichi with way too many questions than answers. Silence entered as Taichi tried to progress all that was happening in front of him.

"Taichi..." Koromon then said worried. He was trying to help.

"What's going on? Both this place and that place... neither of them is a dream" Taichi then mused out. More to himself than anyone else really "Both of them are real. Both of them are real...! I'm over here and there are over there...". He couldn't fandom that at first. Then he turned his attention towards his partner digimon.

"Hey, Koromon, is it alright for me to just be here?" he then asked.

"But... Taichi..." His partner mused in a worried tone.

"Yeah, you are right. We don't know how to go back" he replied with which made Koromon look down in the ground. He clearly was worried and disappointed in himself. That was for sure.

"Onii-chan..." Hikari said to try and cheer them up "Want some Watermelon?".

Time skip.

Taichi was currently in his room lying worried in the lowest part of the bunkbed he was sharing with his sister. On the desk near the window was a plate with three pieces of watermelon standing, but Taichi hadn't touched them. After that message Koushiro delivered, he couldn't help but worry about the others. He could only assume they were still in the digital world. As unbelievable as it sounded. Taichi let out yet another sigh as he looked up at the celling.

"Worrying about them won't do me any good" He thought to himself.

Inside the combined kitchen and living room was Koromon and Hikari sitting, and Koromon were of course eating the slices of watermelon he was given.

"Hikari! This watermelon thing is delicious!" Koromon then said as he began eating yet another piece. All which made Hikari smile a tiny bit.

"Koromon" she then said in a muffled voice. The digimon did hear her so she continued "You can have all of it". That made the digimon look cheerfully at her.

"Really?!" it questioned surprised. When she nodded in approvement, Koromon let out a cheerful sound, before tossing itself over the watermelon piece again.

"Koromon..." Hikari said again, getting the Digimon's attention. "Onii-chan doesn't have to go back, does he?". An action that actually had Koromon drop the watermelon piece all together. He was staring in disbelief at her.

"You can stay here with us, Koromon" Hikari then elaborated with a sad smile "Both of you should stay here". An action Koromon was not sure how to answer and instead ended up looking down in the table instead.

Time skip.

Taichi woke up to the sound of the phone ringing. In his delirium of sleep, he believed it was Yamato and rushed out to answer it. There he found Hikari talking to someone. An action that made him grab after the phone and were now listening to the voice that was speaking. His heart was aching painfully now.

"Make sure to take your medicine. We are alright. Both grandma and grandpa are fine, but they are worried about you. When you feel better, they want you to come visit. With Taichi of course" he could hear his mother say in the phone. She still believed she was talking to Hikari, but since she didn't answer her back, she of course got worried "Hello? Hikari? Are you listening?".

All which made Taichi say 'Mom' before disconnecting the phone. They couldn't know he was home already. Silence once again entered all around them. Taichi still couldn't believe he had heard his mom's voice. After all the travels they had done in the digital world, he had missed his family so much. Even though it had only been hours here in the real world. He wasn't sure how that was possible yet. All he cared about was that he was back. Back home where he wanted to be. Back home with Hikari.

"Hey, Koromon. You could stay here forever" Taichi then mused out.

"Taichi..." Koromon responded with in a sad tone, but it was not like Taichi listened.

"I mean, as long as you stay here, you don't have to fight. You can eat food and candy whenever you want. You can even sleep in a bed every night and take baths every day" Taichi continued with "Mom might get angry sometimes, but whenever happens, I'll protect you. Even dad...". He went silent for a bit as both Hikari and Koromon was starting at him. They were waiting for his next words.

"It is summer vacation! We are on summer vacation right now!" Taichi then uttered out "We haven't gone to the ocean yet, and there is still the firework festival and... I have my homework to do!". His left hand was holding his digivice now.

"I went to the other world because of this thing. Who cares if it is a holy device or whatever! This thing can just...!".

Taichi never finished his sentence, nor did he manage to toss away the digivice because in just that moment the sounds and feelings of an earthquake was shaking the whole apartment building. Taichi and co. rushed, while everything was shaking, over to the window and door to the balcony. Soon he was looking down over the view of the city while trying to spot the abnormality. At the ocean or flood near the building complex rose a giant dino digimon from the sea.

"Ah! That is a Tyranomon!" Taichi uttered before it opened its wide mouth and fired a giant flame ball from it.

It hit the other end of sea somewhere and were clearly the cause for the tremors they were feeling. Taichi rushing with fast steps inside the apartment again and over to the entrance, where he was trying to get his shoes on. Koromon was right beside him.

"Wait!" Hikari shouted as both Taichi and Koromon was about to leave.

Taichi took several seconds too figure out what to do, but in the end, he rushed out of the door telling his little sister to stay put.

Outside chaos was of course happening. Even though the normal humans could not see the digimon, its blasts did. It came in the local news as an earthquake. Taichi was running as fast as he could while carrying Koromon under his arm. However, as he was about to approach the digimon, it began disappearing. Just like that. Only for seconds later near a bridge where you could see a Ferris wheel in horizon, a Drimogemon had appeared and created yet another vivid earthquake. Taichi also tried to deal with this, but just as before, when he was almost in reach, the digimon disappeared to Taichi's annoyance. At a tv he could hear the news caster mention the disaster as yet another earthquake, but Taichi knew better.

"It wasn't an earthquake" he mused out in frustration "Normal people can't see the digimon. Things will turn out even more dangerous if I leave things alone!". He was not sure what to do about this though.

"Taichi. I'm going back to where everyone else is" Koromon then said and jumped out of his arms, while turning his back to him "Digimon aren't allowed in this world. I am a Digimon too, so I can't stay here".

"Koromon?! How can you say that? Don't say that you are going back!" Taichi responded with. Fear was clear in his voice. He didn't want to lose his partner.

"Onii-chan!" he could then hear a voice shout and made Taichi turn towards the girl who was running towards him now. To his horror.

"Hikari! I told you not to come out!" Taichi scolded. Arms were wrapped around her shoulder rather protectively. "Go home! Right now! Hurry!".

"But Onii-chan..." Hikari began begging. It was clear she wanted to help.

"Taichi! Look over there!" Koromon then suddenly shouted and got the attention of the siblings instantly.

On a sidewalk, near the pedestrian crossing and traffic lights was a giant green but slightly different than usual Ogremon standing, and it was clear he had noticed Koromon at the other end.

"That's... Wh-what do we do? If we don't do something...He'll drag everyone in danger" Taichi uttered fearfully.

People at that sidewalk hadn't even noticed anything. They were just walking passed him, or through him, without a care in the world. But it was clear that something was about to happen though. Then, in just that moment, the traffic light turned from red to green, all which made Ogremon attack. His bone club hitting the ground where Koromon once had been standing. Taichi had in that moment grabbed around his little sister in order to protect her and luckily none of the debris had been hitting any of them.

"Are you okay?" Taichi asked his sister.

"Yes, but where is Koromon?" she asked instead.

Taichi turned instantly around to look for him. He prayed, wished, that Koromon was safe, and seconds later he was seen near one of the buildings, jumping up from balcony to balcony, with an enraged Ogremon after him. He did, however, use the buildings as a springboard to launch himself up in the air and fired his 'Bubbles' at him. It barely had any effect though.

"Koromon!" Taichi shouted worriedly after his friend.

"Taichi! Get away from here!" Koromon responded with and managed another jump while dodging Ogremon's bone club.

"Don't do this on your own!" Taichi shouted after him though "We've always fought together!". Something that made Koromon send sad eyes at him and loose his focus.

"Koromon, look out!" Hikari then shouted as Ogremon made yet another attack at him. Koromon tried dodging but was hit hard and sent flying in the air.

"Koromon!" Taichi shouted in pure distress and his digivice responded to his painful cry and began lightening up. As it did a giant worm hole opened up in the sky. It was clearly a portal to the digital world.

"Koromon Shinka Agumon!" the digimon then shouted and began evolving.

Taichi looked stunned around at everything that was happening around him. But then his focus fluttered towards the now evolved Agumon. He had landed on the top of the light regulation box. Ogremon however continued to charge at him and Agumon fired a 'Baby Flame' at him, sending him through the now opened portal and back to the digital world.

"You did it!" Taichi cheered happily at his partner, only to find him being lifted up by the portal as well. To the horror of Taichi and Hikari.

"Agumon!" Taichi shouted in pure distress.

"Taichi, Hikari, bye, bye" Agumon exclaimed in a sad tone before he disappeared.

"Agumon, wait, I am going too!" Taichi exclaimed.

He was about to lift up his hand with his digivice and follow him, when hands grabbed around his. His little sister was clinging to his arm now and she really didn't want him to go.

"Hikari..." Taichi said in a sad tone at first, but then looked determined at her "I'll... I'll make sure to come back. If I don't go with him...".

I will regret it for the rest of my life. Or that was at least what he wanted to say. The words just wouldn't leave his mouth. So, instead he lifted up his arm and made his digivice lift him up in the air as well. His other hand however was still locked together with Hikari's, but since she had no digivice she could not come with him. In the end he was slipping out of her fingers to her dismay.

"Get better soon" Taichi said with a sad smile, before he went through the portal and left sweet little Hikari back at the sidewalk, with the portal closing behind him.

Hikari was left behind on her own. However, before long she too will be able to take a step into the digital world with a digivice on her own.
