Xephnable (SFW)
*I want to apologize to That EpicFoxHat, who requested a Xephnable (NSFW....?). There isn't a ton out there, granted I spent twenty minutes searching. I will continue on my quest, if I find something that should be up tomorrow or sunday. If you would be willing to write something for us or know someone who would, message me :)
TW: Much Feels
Title: ~Isolation~
Xephos angrily walked down the hall to Lalnable’s prison. The spaceman took this time to reflect on why the hell he’d thought cloning Lalna was a good idea; and why he’d decided to keep that defective one around. Maybe Lalnable was right, he did admire the violent clone quite a bit. If not for the merciless way Lalnable killed, maybe for his similarities to Lalna. God, Lalna… Xephos still hated himself for that. He couldn’t believe he’d been so careless. Xeph struggled to keep his mask of indifference from slipping; his vision was starting to blur. He had to focus. He had to keep it together. Rushing into the outer walkways of Lalnable’s cell, the spaceman quickly walked over to the comm system. He switched it on and growled at the clone.
“Lalnable, get out of the mainframe.”
The blonde clone spun his chair to face Xephos, revealing a small laptop made of salvaged computer parts. “Hello again Xephy. I take it you missed me?”
Xeph scowled. “What have I told you about calling me that?”
“Oh, stop acting tough; you know you like it.”
Xeph really hated that knowing smirk Lalnable often gave him. The spaceman sighed in annoyance. “Care to explain why the loudspeakers were playing “How Do I Live Without You” for three hours straight this afternoon?”
Lalnable seemed to be failing to suppress his giggling. “It seemed like a fitting song for the mood.”
“And what mood was that supposed to be?”
The clone’s laughs had turned into sadistic chuckles. “Why Xephy, are you saying you don’t remember?”
Xephos’ eyes widened slightly in surprise before directing his gaze elsewhere. Shit, was that today? How did Lalnable… Oh that bastard. Xeph gripped the edge of the comm system with white knuckles.
“How would you know about that, pray tell?”
“Did you really think I wouldn’t? I’m practically him, just a bit more violent.”
Xephos clenched his jaw, his voice hardly audible. “You’re nothing like him.”
“Says who? Isn’t that what you made me for? Maybe I should start calling you daddy.”
“Shut up.”
Lalnable giggled while he smirked at the spaceman. “Oh that’s almost endearing; you think you can actually control me. Well I’ll tell you right now, that’s part of why he wanted to leave.”
Xeph’s eyes shot over to the blonde clone and burned with hatred. “I said shut up.”
Lalnable leaned back into his spinning chair and casually put his arms behind his head. “He was hoping you would go back to being the person he knew, but you just kept getting more and more distant to him… And then-”
“Shut the fuck up you bastard!” Xephos’ fist hit the system’s metal casing in his outburst.
Lalnable licked his upturned lips. “Oh, getting a little emotional now? You shouldn’t yell so loudly; your employees might hear you. And we both know how much you hate showing any sign of humanity for anything these days.”
“I’m going to kill you.”
“We both know you won’t live up to that threat. You’re too scared to lose your only reminder of him.”
Xephos was silent for some time. “… I hate you.”
“Love you too, Xephy boy.”
The spaceman walked away from the comm system with his gaze to the floor. He needed to get out of here before he completely lost it.
“You always leave too soon, you know that? Ah well I suppose. Say hello to Lalna for me Xephy.”
Xeph swiped his card for the door, walking out of the chamber without looking back. Lalnable sighed and flicked off his comm system. No point in leaving it on when the whole place was sound-proofed and the only one with access to his cell was Xephos.
“You could at least say goodbye one of these days, I’m not heartless like you. I suppose I’m nothing but broken in your eyes though.”
The blonde clone picked up his forgotten little computer and began wiring his comm system to play some background music.
“… Goodnight Xeph.”
And with that he turned off his lights. It was going to be a long night for him.
