Finding The Gate
Ed's POV
I smiled at the person in front of me. "Hey. It's been a bit huh?" Colonel asked. He looked much better now. His uniform was neatly on. It wasn't just thrown on. His hair was brushed, and his uneven parts of hair falling in front of his face. His black eye patch was still there. He didn't look.....disheveled anymore.
He looked like the Colonel I knew before the 5th lab. Before his best friend's death. Before I left that world. I nodded. "Yeah. It sure has." The glass that divided us was barely there. It was thin. And I knew exactly why. Because the gate was trying to balance out the equivalent exchange. And the glass had divided our two worlds. If I were to punch it, it'd break. He smiled back at me.
"Al and I are coming home soon." I explained. His smiled brightened.
"I can't wait then." He replied.
I sighed as I sat up from bed. I heard voices in the house. I raised an eye brow and stood up. Before walking out the room, I changed into a white under shirt, a green v-vest on top and brown pants. I threw my hair into a pony tail and walked into the living room. Al, Roy, Winry and Hughes sat talking. Al turned towards me.
"Morning Brother!" He exclaimed. I nodded.
"Morning. Why is everyone here...?" I asked. Roy smiled at me.
"I thought you two would need some help it all." He explained. I nodded.
"Breakfast is on the table Brother." Al stated, pointing at the table. I nodded and walked towards it, grabbing a plate and sitting down.
"So, where exactly would this gate be..?" Winry asked. Al shrugged.
"I don't exactly know. Brother, where was that portal again?" Al asked. I thought about it for a minute.
"In that tower I think." I replied. Everyone nodded.
"So, when do we go looking for this gate?" Hughes asked.
"Tomorrow sound good?" I suggested. Everyone nodded.
"Okay! Let's meet up at the center of town tomorrow afternoon!" Al confirmed. We all nodded.
"Okay." They agreed. Winry, Hughes and Roy all stood up. I finished breakfast and stood up, putting my dish away. They walked out, and I sat down on my bed.
"Tomorrow huh? If this works, I'll see the Colonel tomorrow." I mumbled. Al came in.
"We finally have a way to go home." He stated. I nodded.
"Yeah. I hope everyone's okay." I said. Al nodded in agreement.
-The Next Day-
I smiled as Al and I arrived in the center of town. "Hey! You two are late!" Winry exclaimed. Al nodded.
"Sorry, someone wouldn't get out of bed." He apologized.
"Hey! Don't go putting all the blame on me!" I exclaimed, causing everyone to laugh.
"Well you two, lead the way." Hughes stated. Al looked at me and we started walking.
Roy's POV
I smiled softly as the two boys lead us. I looked at Ed as he laughed or smiled. I had fallen for him. I would admit. I wonder if my counter part loved him too. Or if it took him a long time to realize it.
"AL STOP CALLING ME LITTLE!" Ed yelled. I chuckled softly. Without those brothers around, things will be a whole lot quieter.
Hughes' POV
I smiled as the two brother's fought. I couldn't help but think of them as my sons almost. I knew they really weren't, but they were family.
Winry's POV
"AL COME ON! THAT ONE DIDN'T EVEN MAKE SENSE!" Ed exclaimed again. I laughed a bit. I was gonna to really miss Ed and Al. They've done a lot for me. And I was great full for it. They're like my brothers I could say. And I love them as family.
Ed's POV
Eventually, we stopped at the gate. I sighed and looked at my little brother. "You ready for this....?" I asked. He nodded.
"Ready." He replied. I nodded. We were going home.
