Bumping Into A Friend

Al's POV
I couldn't believe Brother had used alchemy! It all happened so slowly!

-Flashback-

Ed was moving around in his chair to much as he was trying to catch the fly. His hands clapped together and he fell out of the chair. As he did, Ed's hands slammed onto the ground causing a blue spark to appear. I gasped. "Brother!" I exclaimed.

"Yeah, I'm okay." Ed replied. I shook my head.

"No! Its not that!" I exclaimed once again. I pointed to the spot were Ed's hands landed. He looked at it, wide eyed. Ed rubbed his eyes to make sure he wasn't seeing things.

"What the....?" He trailed off.

-End of Flashback-

I'm still not sure how he did it.

"This doesn't make any sense....I thought this world had no alchemy!" Brother exclaimed. I nodded in agreement.

"How come you can use alchemy now?" I questioned. Ed grinned suddenly.

"Wait. Al, you try." He said. I nodded and sat on the ground next to Ed. Then, I clapped my hands together, placing them on the ground. Nothing happened. I sighed. Brother started laughing. I shot him a questioning look.

'Has Brother finally gone insane...?' I thought. He smirked suddenly.

"This is the universes way of rewarding me for enduring all those years of short jokes!" He exclaimed. I sweat dropped a bit.

"If by enduring you mean destroying buildings, screaming, and wrecking the Colonel's office, I'd doubt that the universe would reward you for that." I muttered. Brother started to nervously chuckle after that. I looked at him. "Should we head to the library and try to figure out what's going on?" I asked. He nodded.

"Sure."

Ed's POV
Al and I walked to the library in a semi silence. I had trouble focusing on one thing. Half of my mind was trying to think about why I could suddenly use alchemy. The other half thinking of Roy. I sighed.

"Something wrong Brother?" Al asked. I shrugged.

"Kinda...I mean no...! Gah! I....guess...?" I replied, trying to find the right answer. Al just laughed.

"Thinking about a certain person?" He asked again. A blush tinted my cheeks.

"N-No!" I stammered. "I have other important things to be worrying about Al." I stated. I could practically hear the Colonel saying,

"You don't think I'm worth or important enough to be thinking about? Geez. That's harsh Fullmetal." with a teasing tone and a smile. I sighed, a sad smiling forming on my lips.

"You don't think I'm worth thinking about? Geez. That's a little harsh don't you think?" I stiffened at the voice.

Roy's POV
I walked over to two familiar blonds. I overhead half of their conversation.

"Thinking about a certain person?" Al asked.

"N-No!" Ed stammered.

"I have other important things to be worrying about Al." He stated. I decided to step inlips.

"You don't think I'm worth thinking about? Geez. That's a little harsh don't you think?" I teased. Ed seemed to stiffen.

"When did you get here?" Ed asked, looking at me. For a minute, it looked like tears were forming at the corner's of his eyes.

"Uh Ed....? I've been here for at least five minutes." I replied.

"Huh....?" He trailed off. I raised my notebook.

"I'm a journalist remember?" I asked him.

"O-Oh yeah! Right! Ah..sorry!" He quickly apologized.

Ed's POV
I mentally sighed and smiled. 'For a minute....I thought he was the Colonel...' I thought.

"Anyways, what are you two doing?" Roy asked.

"Research on something. Wanna come along for the ride?" Al asked. Roy put a hand on his chin as he thought.

"Sure. Sounds fun."
