author's note
The POWER I felt pressing the "complete" button just barely. Wow. This has been in the process for ages.
This book has been a part of my life for the past two years and I don't know what to do now that it's over. But at the same time, I feel excited that it's over because it means I can experiment with new writing and start new projects.
Thank you all for sticking with me through this journey and I hope you'll continue to stay with me throughout the rest.
I never thought I would get this far with writing at all, but you guys continued supporting me, and look where it is now. I mean, 4K reads? I literally can't believe that many people have seen my work. I get nervous when my group-of-20-people creative writing class gets to see my work. But there's way more than that on here.
Honestly? This book started out as an impulsive thought. It was the 2020 lockdown and I was bored out of my mind. I never would've imagined how this story would travel. This book was definitely an experiment. I had never actually written anything seriously before and went into this whole thing blindly. I came up with pretty much everything in the story as I went. While the process of this book was kind of a disaster, I wouldn't change it for the world. It helped me find my footing and my writing style. Writing went from a time filler to an escape from the disaster this world is.
In fact, this story was actually based on a dream I had that summer, and decided it would be fun to turn into a story.
The dream was literally this: The royal family asked me to babysit their kids and hang out with their older kid who was my age because he didn't have any friends. Then I became friends with this prince--Niall--and we fought crime together. HAHAHA, so it went from that to this whole 45-chapter book.
This book is dedicated to a few of my friends. First of all, we have the real-life Gracey who was a major help to this book. She pulled me out of my writer's block every time without fail and was my greatest critic on this journey. I couldn't thank her enough. Next, Kaitlyn, who never stopped supporting me. She got me excited about writing and helped me feel so much better about myself. They're both incredible. Love you two <3
Lastly, it's dedicated to all of you! Thank you for bearing with me through all my moments. Sticking with me even when I had no motivation to do anything. Sticking with me even when I wouldn't update for months. Sticking with me even though this book was pretty cheesy HAH! Thank you for your sweet comments and interaction with me. Nothing makes me happier than seeing all of you enjoy something I wrote.
I love you all and I hope to keep you all with me along my writing journey.
