Chapter 5: A New Quest

Leo S: HOW COULD YOU ALLYSON

Ally: I'M SORRY, OK

Anthony: It's her job

Ashley: ALLYSON VENNE HÉROE COULD YOU MAKE THAT ENDING SO SAD

Chi Yi: IT BROKE MY FEELS

Leo Shane's POV

No. She couldn't be dead. She couldn't be dead. Alana couldn't be dead. Please let this be a prank. Please let Alana wake up and Martin's sobs change to laughs. Please let Ally appear out of nowhere with a camera. As long as Alana is alive, I don't care if I was embarassed in front of the whole camp. She was the only reason I'm still sane.

Cyan: PLEASE

Ally: I'm sorreh

Cyan: PLEASE LET THIS BE A PRANK LIKE LAST TIME

Ally: I'm sorry it isn't

No. No, please no. Fresh tears sprung from my eyes as the truth finally dawned on me and I walked to Martin and took Alana's body from Martin's arms and held her close to me, my pain increasing by a million as I held her cold, lifeless body close to me, letting my tears flow as more demigods crowded round, whispering to each other.

Ashley: Oh shit I'm gonna cry

Leo S: I'm already crying

My silent crying turned to broken, nervewracking sobs which shook my body, but I didn't care. I had a chance to find her, a chance to bring her back alive. But I blew it. I was too late. She's gone. I felt my sobbing increase in volume, and soon, I was shouting in pure agony and heartbreak, screaming curses to the gods, to the Fates as my tears flowed and fell onto my shirt.

Chi Yi: *is crying* THIS IS TOO SAD

Cyan: *joins Chi Yi in crying*

JBV: Ally this is how you get haters

Slugcat: *comforting Cyan*

I heard a crowd gathering around me, watching as I cried, but I didn't care. Why should I care about anything anymore? Just then, at that moment, I realized why Luke Castellan turned against the gods. They took someone he loved away from him. They took Thalia Grace. But Thalia came back. Alana can't come back. I could only hope she reached Elysium.

"Come on, Leo. Let's get you cleaned up." I heard a voice coax, and I felt hands reach for Alana's body. I instinctively stood up and kicked the guy in the chest, snarling at the person I kicked in the chest. The person flew back and fell on his butt. My vision cleared and I saw that I kicked Percy. I turned around and I saw that Martin was the one trying to comfort me. He had tears in his brown eyes, his dark brown hair disarray. But besides tears, there was tiredness, and fatigue. He had huge, black bags under his eyes and he was swaying in his feet, like he was going to faint any second. His eyes were fighting to stay open, and he looked dangeroulsy thin, like he haven't eaten in days. Percy stood up, and said,

"Leo, we'll honour Alana, I promise on the River Styx. And let Martin rest before you ask him any questions, please." I looked around, and I saw demigods crowding around the three of us, a few were sobbing, the others sad and their expressions full of pity. I heard Martin groan and when I turned around, he collapsed with exhaustion, and was taken to the infirmary by a few demigods. Percy led me to the body preserver, and as I lay Alana's body on one of the tables, my tears fell and froze onto my face. I wanted to freeze to death in this freezer, by Alana's side. But before I could protest, Percy got out a needle and jabbed it in my arm, and injected something into my arm. My vision went blurry, and my head started to spin. My hearing became more distant, and in seconds, I felt everythig rushing up against me as I felt myself falling and landing into someone's arms and my world sprialling into darkness.

A day later....

Martin's POV

I woke up on an infirmary bed, a slight headache pounding at my brain. There was 2 lamps by my bedside which gave out a peaceful, blue glow through the whole room, because the lights were off. I heard a door open, and I saw a figure come in. The upper part was wide, and became slimmer until it was divided into 2 legs. He closed the door, and I sat up, reaching for my dagger, but it wasn't there.

"Dude, don't panic, I'm just a doctor. I can give you your dagger, just cooperate with me. Can I turn on the lights?" The man's voice was deep and melodic, and if Ashley was here, she would say this guy was black. I replied,

"Um, ok." I heard someone flipping a light switch, and the lights turned on. I was in a private room, just like the one Ally was admitted in back in Slugterra, when she forgave me. I heard the door close, and a guy with mocha coloured skin, big, brown eyes and a black, man bun. He walked to me, and he took a chair.

"Where's my dagger?" I asked him threateningly, but calmly. He opened the drawer on my bedside table and took out my dagger, clean and shiny, exactly the same. He gave it to me, and I held it with both hands. Just then, what happened before I passed out. Leo crying, Alana's death. I asked him,

"Please don't tell me Alana's dead." He had a sad look in his eyes as he told me,

"I'm sorry, Martin. I don't think anyone can relate to what you've been through. You ok, buddy?" I nodded absentmindly and looked at my reflection in my dagger. I saw Ally and I as kids, laughing as we threw water balloons at each other, and Kelian and all my other friends at that time. I saw Ally slipping on the floor and landing on me, and we both fell into the swimming pool. I put down my dagger, trying to hide my tears as I thought of my worst memories: My mother dying in that car crash, Leo bringing back Ally's body.

"Martin? You sure you ok?" I snapped,

"I'm fine." Then I questioned,

"Who are you, anyway?" He replied,

"I'm Avies, from Second Cohort." His eyes directed to my dagger, and his look turned sad and filled with sorrow.

"You're not just some random guy named Martin, right? You're Martin Storm, the Broken Warrior." I nodded, and Avies told me,

"I lost someone close to me too, I lost my childhood friend." I turned my attention to him, and I asked,

"How?" He answered,

"The Battle of Manhattan. I told her not to go, I told her to let the Ares Cabin be. But she let them into battle. And....the drakon....it spit poison at her face. After that, I moved to Camp Jupiter with Chiron's permission so I could live with my grief." I didn't know what to say, so I asked him,

"What was her name?" His eyes welled up with tears as he murmered,

"Silena Beauregard." Realization dawned on me as I remembered the tale of Silena Beauregard. She was a spy for Kronos, because Luke Castellan persuaded her to help them, and she died leading the Ares Cabin into battle. Without the Ares Cabin, the Battle of Manhattan would have lost to a drakon. So she was considered a hero. I told him truthfully,

"She's happy with Charlie now." He smiled wistfully and nodded.

"Thank you for not being all like, 'You have my deepest condolences' and shit, because that's honestly one of the worst things to say, am I right?" I agreed, and we chuckled, and he asked me,

"What do you see in Allyson, anyway? I'm just curious, I bet she's a great person." I told him,

"We were friends ever since we were kids, and she's the only one who ever truly understood me. She's hilarious, kind, brave, smart, cunning, sarcastic, she's a lot of things. No one can truly explain her in words, if you ask me. She may look like a true warrior on the outside, but on the inside, she's someone you can go to if you need someone to be there for you, a shoulder to cry on, a soothing voice to help you move on. I can't explain why I love Ally, it's just....unexplainable." As I spoke, memories flashed before my eyes: Ally defending me from those bullies, the water balloon fights, her resting her head on my shoulder, our hands accidentaly touching when we reached for the same sheet of paper in school. Then reality hit me like a brick. Leo. How was he, after he learnt about Alana's death?

"Can I go see Leo Shane?" I questioned, and Avies replied,

"Yeah, but you're sitting in a wheel chair. You need to gain back your energy. Take my sandwich, I don't want it." He gave me a ham sandwich, and I kindly accepted it. While he prepared the wheelchair, I unwrapped the sandwich just a bit, and the smell of fresh ham and salad reached my nostrils, attacking for space and filling me with temptation to eat the sandwich. Avies pushed the wheelchair to me, and I attempted to get out of bed. Avies caught me and the sandwich, then chuckled and helped me onto the wheelchair.

"You can't be active just yet, Martin. You still have a few more days in the infirmary." I didn't reply, because I was too busy attacking the sandwich with my mouth, my immense hunger satisfied. He pushed me to a door that said "For Mental Trauma Patients" and knocked. I heard a female voice ask,

"Who is it?" Avies responded,

"Avies and Martin Storm!" We heard talking, and she told us to come in. Avies pushed open the door and I wheeled myself in, and he closed the door.

Leo looked terrible.

His once electric blue eyes were now pale and broken, and they were red and puffy, like he was crying. Wet tear tracks marked that he was crying until recently, and his hair was disarray and stuck up at all places. A fair woman with blonde hair and blue eyes was sitting on a chair by his bedside, strands of hair coming out from her ponytail and a forced smile on her thin lips. A bloodstained knife was on the floor, and bandages on Leo's arm told me what he did to himself. He looked broken, his spirit finally demolished.

"Hey, Martin." He greeted, attempting to hide his arms from me, but I could see what he did. I looked at the wound on my left arm, one of the many reminders of my sorrow.

"Empira, can you leave for a sec, please?" Leo asked the blonde woman, and she replied,

"Okay, Leo." She looked at Avies and beckoned to him to leave, and Avies asked me,

"You sure you ok?" I nodded, and he left the room, Empira in hand. Leo looked at me and I wheeled my wheelchair closer to his bed.

"Martin, what happened back in Slugterra? How did Alana die?" I bit my lip, hoping to avoid this question from him. But the broken look in his eyes told me he needed to know the truth.

"Leo...are you sure you can take it?" He replied with hopelessness in his eyes,

"You think I could get worse? Under sedation I stil get nightmares, you're looking at Leo Shane under calming medication, and there's a possibility I'll be insane forever, nothing could make my condition worse. So don't give me any sentimental shit. Get to the gods dam story." I tried to fight back my tears and started the story.

"We were almost at the Drop, when thw Furies themselves showed up. They told us...that someone cursed Alana." I could see him tensing up, his eyes narrowing and his calm manner forced.

"Someone CURSED HER?!" I nodded, and he growled,

"Continue." So I did.

"She asked who and why, and the Furies told us the camper cursed her because he lost his love." Leo's hand were balled up into fists as he snarled,

"WHO CURSED HER?!" I muttered,

"Ashley." I saw his expression drop from anger to disbelief, to pure fury. I quickly continued,

"She fought bravely. She killed 2 of the Furies, but the last one killed her before I could stop it. I recorded her last words." I took out my phone and turned on the recording, and I tried to fight my tears as I heard Alana's recorded voice say her last words.

Leo...Leo, it's Alana. I love you with all ny heart. I....*cough* I won't be able to make it back to Camp Half Blood, and I'm sorry I couldn't make it. I know you love me, and I love you too. And it kills me to see you sad. I like the fact that you remained positive and moved on from me. Please, continue being happy, or I can't ever be. I love you. Stay strong, Leo.

The recording ended with a breath, and then it stopped. Leo was blinking back tears as he looked at the tattoo on his wrist. He got that when he got to camp. He never removed it.

"She loved you a lot, Leo. She didn't want you to-" Leo looked like he was about to break down and cry, like he wanted to die just right there, so I stopped. He wanted to fulfill her last wish, he wanted to so badly, but couldn't be happy anymore. He's been strong for too long.

"Thanks, Martin." He murmered, and he took in a few deep, shuddering breaths before he informed me,

"There's a surprise waiting for you in your room, I think you'll approve. The Authors told me to tell you. Go, you'll be much happier, at least, much happier than me." With difficulty, I stood up from the wheelchair and sat on Leo's bed with him.

"Leo, I know it's hard. But...don't kill yourself, ok? Alana would be devastated knowing you killed yourself." He nodded, tears welljng in his eyes, and I left him alone. Empira went back in, and Avies had a huge grin on his face as he pushed me back to my ward.

"Empira let me take her on a date." He told me, and I replied,

"Nice. She doesn't seem so bad." Avies was still grinning like crazy when we arrived to my ward. When he opened the door, I nearly cried with happiness.

Ally was leaning on the wall, a smile on her face when she saw me.

"Took you long enough, Zebra." She said and I stood up, not caring if I was gonna fall.

"Ally..." I ran to her and hugged her, wrapping my arms around her small waist and pulling her close to me as I whispered in her ear,

"I missed you so much..." She hugged me back and whispered,

"I missed you too." When we seperated, I asked her,

"Where were you after all these years?" She opened her mouth to answer, then she smiled and asked me,

"Are you actually crying?" I touched my eyes and realized I was crying with joy. I wiped my tears and she chuckled. I missed that smile, and that chuckle she would try to cover up with her hand. Avies asked,

"You both want some time alone?" I blushed, forgetting he was here. I stammered,

"U-uh, sure, t-thanks." Avies chuckled and left the room, and we both sat down on my hospital bed, and I scooted closer to her.

"Where were you, Ally? I looked for you for 5 years, I looked in Slugterra, I looked in Tartarus, I looked everywhere." She responded,

"After I fainted, I woke up in a hospital, and Chi Yi told me that our world wasn't real, and that it was just me writing my fanfiction, and that I survived a car crash. She told me I was in a coma this whole time. So I was a normal girl in a normal school, but I'll see strange things. I know what they mean now. I'm sorry for leaving you guys." She looked down, her strikingly beautiful eyes avoiding my brown ones.

"Ally, you didn't intend to, and you're here now. That's what matters. And I am not losing you again." I gently lifted her chin, so she looked into my eyes. I told her,

"You're the best person I know, and it would be an honour to have your love." She looked at me, confusion written all over her face.

"Wait, what are you saying?" She asked me, and I smirked and I replied,

"I love you, Amazon. I've loved you for 10 years." I smashed my lips into hers, and I felt her kiss back.

Ally: Warning, the following might gross you out

Aquito: Ooooh this gonna be steamyy

JBV: Just....no....

It was the best moment of my life. I felt her smirk in the kiss, and I licked her lips teasingly, and I felt her tongue respond. I opened my mouth just slightly, waiting for her entrance.

Chi Yi: This sounds like a freakin Porno

Kayla: This book has become PG18

Anthony: oH dAnG

I felt her tongue trace my teeth, the roof of my mouth. I moaned in pleasure and I felt her smile again. I decided to tease her, and I started licking her lips and gradually, I nibbled in her bottom lip slowly yet surely, but no sound came from her. She pulled apart and smirked as she challenged me,

"Is that all you got, Storm? This isn't even a drizzle." I smirked and said,

"Oh, I'll give you a storm, alright." I was about to continue what I started when Avies burst in.

"Sorry to interrupt your steamy make-out session that everyone can see from the security cameras, but you both are needed."

Slugcat: THANK YOU AVIES

Martin: Cockblocker much

Avies: It was getting too PG18, think about all the kids reading this and Martin, are you saying that you both were going to.....?

Martin: wHaT nO sHe wOuLd kiLL mE

Leo S: How can a 12 year old write this smut

I felt my cheeks getting redder as Ally and I blushed into a furious shade of crimson. Avies chuckled as he led us out of the infirmary. Ally put some cyan blue hair extensions in her hair, and I rememebered: today was Alana's funeral. I was wearing cyan blue shoes, if that counted. Avies asked us,

"The whole Hephaestus, Apollo and Poseidon cabins saw you both, do you know that?" Ally's cheeks reddened and I snapped,

"Shut up, Avies." We found a crowd gathering at the mess hall, and I saw my siblings in the Apollo Cabin.

"See you later, Amazon." I whispered in her ear, and she smiled at me. We both went to sit at our respective tables. I looked at the Zeus Table and I saw Leo sobbing as Jason tried unsuccessfully to comfort him, and once I looked at the podium, I saw why. They were burning Alana's shroud today. At normal, mortal funerals, people wear black, but at camp, we wear their favorite colour, to honour them. So today, everyone was wearing cyan blue to honour her. Leo even dyed some of his hair cyan blue, so he had cyan streaks in his hair like Alana.

"Today, we honour a fellow demigod who lived an honourable life. She was brave, kind and helpful to everyone." Chiron spoke. He dyed the horse part of his body cyan blue, but I bet that was an attempt to make Leo feel a little better.

"Leo, would you like to close her eyes?" He asked, and Leo stood up and silently walked to the podium, tears still streaming down his cheeks as he kissed Alana's forehead and closed her eyes. After he sat back down, Chiron called Rachel to make a speech, but instead of making a speech, she collapsed on the way to the stage. Nico caught her, and green mist erupted from her mouth as she sat up and prophecised:

The youngest child of Poseidon,

The Broken Warrior,

The Surviving Warrior of Hades.

They will go west to the burdened sun,

To undo what has been done.

One shall take the burden,

One will lose their sanity,

One would offer their soul,

One will bring despair to another,

And one will die by a sibling's hand.

Leo S: The last line of the proohecy tho

Anthony: NO WHY IS ALLY GOING

Ally: Because I cannn

Anthony: nO MY BBY SISTER NOOOOOO

Leo S: I'll take care of her

Martin: Same

Ally: -.-

Avies: I can't wait for my date with Empira :D

Anthony: You seriously have bad taste for women
