Monday, 23rd of September,2019. 1:05pm

"My name is Danielle Norman ,I'm 14 years old and I would like to disown my parents",Danielle spat out the words and watched everyone grimace.

The judge adjusted his glasses and stared at her like he hadn't heard what the teenager had just said ,"Could you repeat that please?".

She raised her voice this time around,"My name is Danielle Norman ,I am 14 years old and I would like to disown my parents legally!!".

Danielle's mom slumped and her dad staggered ,the court went into a frenzy.

Monday ,9th of September,2019. 7:00 am.
"I shouldn't have married you ,they warned me but I didn't listen and now I'm gonna pay for it for the rest of my life, I hate you!", Ella screamed at her husband.

"If you hate me so much why don't you just leave? Get the hell out of my life then", Matthew retorted.

"I know that's what you want, you want me to leave so you can have it all ,you never loved me you just married me to use me and now that I no longer have money you wanna frustrate me so I can leave".

"Dad it's true, isn't it? Everything mom said is true ,that's why you cheat and don't pay the bills at home ,that's why you don't care about my education ,that's why-".

"Shut up Danielle and go to your room. You're too young ,you don't know anything",Matthew cut his daughter off.

Of course what had she been thinking nobody listens to her around here ,to them she was either too young or being silly ,they never really cared about her 'cos they were so busy hating each other.

"Mom can you come to my room please? I have something I need to tell you".

"Not now Danielle, I need to give this scumbag a piece of my mind",Ella replied.

Danielle went into her room and shut the door ,a very happy birthday to her indeed.

Monday ,9th of September ,2018. 11:00am
"I need you to swear to me that you won't tell anyone until I ask you to Grandma ,swear it to me", Danielle pleaded with tears in her eyes to her sobbing grandmother.

"I swear it to you on your late grandpa's grave my baby girl",Jennifer said to her crying granddaughter.

How had it gotten so bad between her daughter and her husband? More importantly ,how couldn't they see that they were destroying this precious girl's life?.

"My baby is due in December, when I have him I'm gonna give him to you, you'll be his legal guardian and I'll keep checking up on him till...", Danielle couldn't finish her sentence ,it was still a hard pill for her to swallow, everything was ,except her pregnancy, she had literally begged her best friend to get her pregnant.

"Danielle you're just 12! Your parents won't only have me arrested ,they'll kill me", a frightened Chris screamed.

"But they won't find out now and by the time they do they won't be able to do anything. Please Chris ,please".

"But...why? Why do you want a baby at this age?",Chris asked

. "Because I want to be happy",Danielle said without mincing words.

Thursday, 1st of February ,2018. 2:05pm
"I'm sorry Danielle but you have a rare form of skin cancer, it's so rare that only one out of a million people have it in a lifetime. You only have a few years to live at most", Dr.Maya said while struggling to keep her tears at bay.

"Oh...wow, God is giving me a way out",Danielle whispered.

"What?", the doctor wasn't sure she had heard that correctly.

"I used to want to kill myself but then they taught us at church that anyone that commits suicide will go to hell and then there's also mom ,she'll be devastated if I kill myself so I guess God finally heard my prayers but He sure has a weird way of answering",Danielle chuckled with tears rolling down her face.

"Let me call your parents and tell them",Dr.Maya reached for the phone.

"It's a waste of time but OK", Danielle said before her dad picked the call.

"Good afternoon Mr. Norman ,it's Dr. Maya. I want to speak to you about Danielle ,there's something wrong with-".

"She's been starving herself ,hasn't she? It's because of I and her mother's fights, don't pay attention to her she's just a kid ,she doesn't understand anything yet ,she'll eat when she's hungry" ,with that Matthew Norman hung up.

"Try my mom", Danielle scoffed.

"Hello Mrs. Norman ,it's Dr. Maya, I need to talk to you about Danielle, she's sick ma'am".

"Of course she's sick ,she's always writing about crazy stuffs and starving herself ,she wants attention in the midst of all the chaos ,she isn't considerate at all ,I have to work three jobs to cater for her needs yet she stresses me. Don't worry Dr. Maya I'll give her drugs for cold when I get home ,have a nice day ma'am", Ella hung up.

Friday ,27th of September ,2019. 4:00pm
Danielle had won the case easily after presenting evidences showing how much she had been neglected by her ex-parents, from recordings to pictures of their fights.

They were also asked questions like her favorite color ,sport and even her birthday ,to which they couldn't provide answers, the judge had ruled in her favor after that and she had taken her grandmother's surname, Olivet.
She became popular after that having being the only minor and person to ever disown her biological parents legally.

Sunday ,8th of December, 2019. 6:00pm
Danielle Olivet is dead.

She died of a rare form of cancer in the arms of her grandmother while holding her son, Alexander in her arms. She had told her grandmother to give a note to her parents upon her demise.

     Dear mom and dad, I hope you're happy now ,you no longer have a child to keep you in an unhappy marriage you can go your separate ways. Mom ,I left you a grandchild ,his name is Alexander and grandma is his legal guardian so when you get a divorce from dad you can be a legal guardian too. Dad...just stay safe.

A/N: Awww😥 I wrote this story last year and I actually got really sad while writing it cos it highlights a lot of things going on in the real world.
