Part Two.

Today's my BIRTHDAY! So enjoy this long update!

Part two.

There's that obnoxious leech!

Hazily but fastly, I made my way to his way.

“He is okay.”

“He should be okay.”

“He must be okay.”

It was until I saw what was waiting for me that my heart froze at the sight. My brother was crying— sobbing in his arms, restlessly. Fastening the pace, I tried to reach sooner with my heart breathing fire with each heavy step. A relieved sigh escaped knowing at least he was okay and breathing.

Upon reaching, I berated, still wet from the rain, "What do you think you're doing? Don't you know how to take care of a baby!” Breathing heavily, I barked at his back. “Give him back I say!" Hearing my loud voice, he turned almost immediately.

"Ah! Look who is here! I thought you would never come,” he jested. “You took your time, didn't you?” He waited for my reply. “Let's get moving. Shall we?” Tightening the hold on Shaur, he added, “We all were waiting for you!" Gesturing his spare hand at the other companions he had with him, he said. I stood there. "You are already wet. I don't want you to catch a cold either. Now, do we?“ His eyes were glued to me. “Let's proceed, shall we?" When I didn't reply, he waited a bit more. He asked me instead, blinking at me innocently like he was talking to a very close friend of his.

Close friend! Ah, my foot! Never! A little voice at the back of my head mocked me even in this perilous situation! Shaking my head from those distracting talks, I breathed and— I gaped at him.

Who did he think he was? Ordering me around!

I did not know if I was being gallant or overly stupid but there was a scalding pain— fire within me that was coming out— on him.

For him!

Although, he was to be blamed in the very first place! Who was he to order me around?

No one!

Why did he pester us into coming with him? Who was he even?!

"Let's go! Shall we?" Opening the door of the car, he said, staring intensely at me, waiting for me to sit, however with a crying brother in his arms— still. “Obey me and he will be yours,” he compromised, watching my attention towards his arms. “I don't compromise but for you, I will. Only if you obey me.”

My heart was on fire.

“There is just this one condition I want you to agree to. Nothing more.”

But it hurt too!

Without my Shaur in my arms! There were many questions inside my mind which needed answers. Many of them. However, I was alone— alone in the pack of the awaited wolves. Impassive-faced wolves with their eyes under those black shades which hide the monsters they were. Which had hidden what kind of monstrous devils they were.

I gaped..

Stared..

My eyes were glazed with tears.

Albeit my eyes were only on him from my peripheral vision, I could see his men there too! Standing stilled like frozen iced statues, not very far away from where I was.

It was so much like a dream for me which I couldn't come to portray even: in words!

Everything was blurry from my line of vision. I was afraid, I was wet, and I was dreading the outcome of disobeying him. I wanted to hold my brother to feel the warmth of being closer to him.

After a movement of pregnant silence among us, half of the time passed in peering at each other, intensely. With the thunderous inclement weather and chilly breeze, in addition, I took a step with finality and then, started on my way.

"Why do you want us to come with you?" My voice came out as squeaky as a meek child in the sound of lightning thunder but I glared at him, eyes breathing fire.

The thunder clashed as I jumped.

“You surely seem afraid. Let's get you dried first,” he offered. “It is just the beginning of such an onslaught of the storm you are feeling,” watching the sky with an expressive face, he told me loud enough for me to hear. As on cue, another bolt of thunder clashed somewhere, leaving a fleeting moment of acute shake on the wet ground which must have been felt by everyone as each one of us took a step back, unknowingly. Except for him. “Once it is here, everything will be out of my control. It is necessary to leave before that happens.”

“No!” is a single negative term but it comes with a greater impact.

“No?” He exhaled sharply. “Let's get you home first before you get sick.”

“No.”

“Pray tell, why?”

“B-because I want you to answer my questions!”

“Must you not wait to reach home first?”

“That house is not our home!” I huffed. “You have kidnapped us. You made us obey you— forcibly. You threatened me to do as you pleased!” I was breathing sharply in both— cold and fear. “I won't let you take away our freedom when I finally have it.”

“Why don't you trust me for once?”

His question was as abstruse as him.

“You want me to believe you after kidnapping us, making me obey your every command?” I met his eyes, challengingly. “You want me to trust you when you don't even tell me who you are and why do you want us to come with you?” I couldn't blink. “You want me to trust you when you like to keep me in the dark about everything?”

“Because it was for your own good,” just a simple sentence.

“You cannot just say that!”

“Why not?” he quirked an eyebrow at me. “We need to leave before the storm gets out of hand.”

“Because I have a right to know!” I yelled.

“I know,” it was low in the monstrous thunderstorms but I heard him.

“I'll report you.” I finally told him again.

“We are just wasting our time by this when we already had this conversation,” he tore his eyes away from me. “Okay. I will take you where you can report me but before that, you might need to sit in the car to do that.”

My lips quirked disbelievingly.

“Aren't you a vision with eyes breathing fire and lips having your infamous scowl?” he pushed, “so, tell me, what is your decision?”

“Because— because, it's against the law to forcibly take people and not let them leave!” I answered the first question he had asked.

He hummed. “Is that all?”

My lips curved in confusion.

“What- what?”

“Is there something more you want to ask and waste time accordingly before I make you sit in the car?”

And my glare intensified when he smiled at me.

Me!

Smile— which he thought was innocent. If only he knew that I knew— his smile was everything but that!

“As I said: the choice is yours.”

I glared immensely.

“No!”

“Are you sure about that, little one?”

“I will not leave until you answer my questions.”

He looked at me with such an intensity which was unknown to me, and I immensely tried not to cower back.

“Is that your final decision?”

“Yes.” I was obstinate.

Perhaps I was not in my senses clearly but I wanted the answer. I really did. If I had to force it out to get them from him. Then be it.

My heart was pounding more than it had been ever before. Perhaps, it was the adrenaline rush surging through my veins that made me want to keep on asking the questions which I had the right to know.

“See, your brother is crying for you. Would you not want to console him before you quench the thirst of your impending quest for answers?”

My will wavered at that. He knew! He knew how my brother was a weakness to me which gave him the upper hand to exploit it! He was just doing that when he knew I wouldn't be able to deny the truth behind an unspoken threat. He knew I won't be able to put the questions above my brother!

“I have the right to know where you will be taking us!” it was the last resort before I found my courage to be crumbling little by little; piece by piece.

“Home. That's all you should know as of now.”

The thunder bolted somewhere close. The continuous fits of coughing had my heart clenching when I saw Shaur in desperate need of warmth. He was slightly wet even under the shade of the umbrella.

“It is the hard way, then.”
