~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Harry Potter and Draco Malfoy were not friends; everyone knew that. They were always fighting, competing, trading insults, driving each other up the wall, and more. To Draco, Harry was 'PoThaH'.
Pot•tah /pottah/
noun
a person who was the first to reject Draco Malfoy's friendship, causing a rift (and jealousy)
"Perfect Pottah with his perfect scar and his perfect broomstick."
To Harry, Draco was 'MaLfoY'.
Mal•foy /malfoi/
noun
an infuriating git to Harry Potter
"But you, unlike me, are a git."
The two almost never saw eye to eye with each other. Draco was an attention seeker, while Harry was the sassiest person in Hogwarts.
Some days, however, Harry was too tired to fight. Well, who wouldn't be? Classes, fighting with Malfoy, Occlumency lessons with Snape (Professor Snape, sorry Mione), escaping the Dursleys, fighting with Voldemort, Quidditch, nightmares, fighting with Malfoy, ect. ect. It was a lot of work. So some days he was too tired and irritated to deal with the not-so-subtle-attention-seeking ferret. Now, let's hear about an occurrence that happens more often than believed...
Most mornings Draco Malfoy usually staggered to the Gryffindor table. He buzzed around Harry Potter, throwing insults and sucking up the blood boiling under his skin. No matter how much Harry tried to swat him, it never worked. (No, he wasn't an animagus; he was just that annoying.) This happened at a specific time, after a specific event. By now the whole school knew the schedule by heart.
Harry had a mental alarm for it, which is why as soon as Malfoy got up from his table, he groaned. He did not sleep well last night and he had no desire to fight the mosquito. Still, Harry tried to act calm. Unfortunately, he couldn't even last through a minute with the constant buzzing. Which is why he called,
"Hey Slytherins! Please do me a favor and take this blond pesky mosquito away for now!"
The Slytherins started snickering. Draco stopped buzzing in confusion. The rest of the student body gawked in surprise.
"We had a deal, Potter!" Theodore Nott called out. Harry grinned at this.
"I will deal with him some time later for you, promise!"
"Very well." Blaise casted a spell and brought Draco back to his seat. This caused him to finally snap out of his stupor.
"W-what in Merlin's name is going on? Since when was Pottah civil with you?!"
"Draco darling, we had a truce," Pansy answered, patting his arm. The rest of the snakes nodded.
"Since when and how?!" the blond sputtered.
"That's a mystery itself isn't it?" Daphne Greengrass asked with a smirk, Tracey Davis snickering beside her.
"What..."
"Come on darling, let's get you back into the common room. We can't have you heading to classes looking like a ruffled peacock." Draco just nodded and let her pull her along, unaware of the wink sent in Potter's way.
After that day, the Slytherins and Harry took turns to dump Draco on each other. Honestly. It was only so much of ranting from the blond the Slytherins could take, and sometimes Harry just needed to find a bit of peace.
