Chapter 10
Erin's POV
"Well, I'd better return you home. Your parents wouldn't want you staying out this late," Shawn said.
I nodded.
The walk home was a bit awkward. I couldn't even talk to him in the beginning at all. My mind were clouded with thoughts.
Why would he hang out with a girl like me? What does he think of that Instagram post of us arguing? Doesn't something seem a bit fishy. Oh God, he's perfect.
I finally broke the awkwardness after a while.
"Oh yeah, I forgot to ask you. What do you think of that Instagram post of us arguing?" I asked shyly. He paused and stopped walking, his face looking guilty. "Shawn?" I asked again. "Oh sorry." He started walking again. "Uhm, I didn't really mind it to be honest. It was my fault anyways," he said.
"No, it wasn't your fault at all. Again, I'm sorry for being rude and snappy towards you when you made a small comment," I responded back.
Shawn smiled at my response and didn't say anything, his face still filled with guilt. Did I say something wrong? If he feels guilty about arguing with me, I already told him it's okay.
So that's exactly what I told him.
"Your face looks really guilty right now," I said, concerned. "If you still feel guilty about what you said, I already told you it's alright?".
Shawn looked like he forced a smile and said "Yeah, you're right."
It wasn't until later on that I found out why he was looking guilty the whole time. It wasn't because he was feeling guilty on what he said to me before.
It was even worse.
