Info: No quirks, they're adults, soft Katsuki for Izuku in the beginning

-Third Person-

Izuku Midoriya was the type of guy who would hang on to every single promise, big or small, he'd keep it. He could also break them if you hurt him first though.

Izuku was considered a normal man in this society. Had a normal job, normal apartment, normal everything. He was alone.

-

Izuku had left work like any normal day taking the bus home. Checking the mail as always when he arrived home, he found a particular fancy looking envelope.

It was a wedding invitation.

Who would invite me to a wedding? I haven't keept in touch with anybody after moving during high school. Izuku thought to himself.

Huh, high school. I can still recall that day it all went wrong. He sighed.

-Flashback, 2nd year of high school-

Faint sobs could be heard throughout the hallways of UA high school. No one knew who the cries belonged to, that is except one person. Katsuki Bakugou could recognize that cry from anywhere.

It was none other than Deku, his childhood best friend and still current best friend. He ran to the sound of the cries of the other boy knowing he needed him.

Katsuki reached the bathroom where the cries were coming from. He saw two guys kicking a green haired boy who was in a ball on the ground crying his eyes out begging them to stop. Katsuki couldn't take this any longer.

"OI! WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING!" Katsuki shouted startling the three. "YOU BETTER GET YER ASSES OUT OF HERE BEFORE I BEAT THE SHIT OUT OF YOU!" He once again shouted causing the two boys to run away leaving Izuku crying.

Katsuki ran up to Izuku, crouching down to the ground to comfort him. He knew about Izuku getting bullied since middle school all the way up to high school and has been doing his best to keep the boy safe.

"I promise to stay with you and keep you safe..." Katsuki said and hugged Izuku. Izuku melted into the touch of the blonde feeling safe. "Together forever?" Izuku whispered.

"Together forever." Katsuki whispered back...

Later that day Izuku had a failed suicide attempt and was rushed to the hospital.

The next day Katsuki missed school to visit Izuku. He was worried sick for the green haired boy. Katsuki made his was over to the front desk of the hospital asking for Izuku's room number and running to his room once he got the number.

Katsuki knocked on the door and entered, seeing Izuku laying on the bed staring out the window. "Hey..." Katsuki says walking towards Izuku. Izuku didn't say anything and just continued looking out the window.

In a soft broken voice Izuku whispers, "Mom says we're moving once I get discharged..." He says as a tear rolls down his cheek. Katsuki, unable to believe what Izuku just said stays silent.

"Kacchan, can you promise me something. When I... When I come back, can we be something. I wanna be with you in the future once I'm better. Can you marry me when I come back... Please?" Izuku whispered lound enough for Katsuki to hear as tears ran down his face. Katsuki nodded, "I do, I promise. Just promise me not to hurt yourself, I can't stand seeing you here."

A deep promise was made that day they both swore never to break.

But that was years ago

-End Of Flashback

Izuku opened the envelope, now in the living room of his apartment. He gasped as he saw the two names written in cursive on the top of the invitation.

You are invited to the wedding of Ochako Uraraka and... Katsuki Bakugou....

Izuku can't believe what he just read. Tears falling down his face. 'He promises, HE PROMISED ME!" Izuku screamed as he started crying uncontrollably.

He spent weeks crying but he planned to attend the wedding to at least see Katsuki again.

It was now the bachelor party for Katsuki Bakugou who was getting wed tomorrow. Izuku arrived a bit late but he at least made it. It took a lot to even show up at all. Say what you have to say and then leave Izuku told himself.

Everyone was drinking so he got to reach Katsuki alone. Izuku thought about what to say and decided to just say what he felt. It might be selfish of him to do so, but that no longer mattered to him. He deserved to be selfish, Katsuki did break a promise after all. 

"Hey... " Izuku said as he walked towards Katsuki. A small Deku and Kacchan was exchanged as Izuku proceeded to speak out his feelings.

"You promised me... You promised me dammit! You said we'd be together forever! You said you wouldn't leave me! You promised we'd have a future together! That we'd get married... Was that all some joke to you because it sure as wasn't for me!? Was it all a lie?! Why... Why would you lie to me? I thought we had something..." Izuku cried out catching the attention of the others

Small murmurs were heard all around the place until it eventually grew silent.

Of course Katsuki remember their promise, it was their second year at UA. With one last look Izuku turned away with all his tear and walked out. Katsuki too shocked to do anything just stood there and watched his first love walk out the door.

The next day Katsuki couldn't think straight. He was getting married to Ochako yet his only thought was Izuku, his soft curly green hair, his beautiful freckles. Everything about Izuku left him feeling off that he was marrying some else. He wanted it to be Izuku but he fears he's too late seeing Izuku was not at the wedding.

Without think Katsuki runs out his dressing room shouting he can't do this. Calling off the wedding, he ran. Ran to the one he truly loves.

Izuku decided against going to Katsuki's wedding at last minute seeing as he wasn't going to be the one walking down the aisle. He couldn't bear see someone else taking his role right beside Katsuki.

What was the point anymore. Katsuki was the other thing he truly looked forward too so now that he's not an option for him anymore, what was the point? Taking a deep breath, Izuku knew what he had left to do.

Running as fast as he could up the stairs to Izuku's apartment, he was almost there. He couldn't wait to see Izuku's face and freckles, oh how he missed them over the years. A few more stairs and he's there.

Reaching Izuku's floor, he dialed Inko asking for his apartment number. He knew the floor but just needed that damn room number. Inko finally answered the phone after the 4th dial giving Katsuki the answer he was looking for.

Rushing to Izuku's apartment number, at last, he knocked.

No answer.

He knocked again.

Still no answer.

He tried twisting the door knob. It opened. He feared the worst possible. "Deku!" He called out. Still no answer. He walked around the apartment to the last room he hasn't checked, the bathroom.

There Izuku was, laying in a tub full of water and blood.

This time, Izuku was successful.

Tears started filling up Katsuki's eyes seeing his first and now final love laying there. Looking down, Katsuki saw a crumbles piece of paper by his hand on the floor. Kneeling down with tears, he picked up the paper.

Written in with Izuku's handwriting, it said: "You broke your promise, so I sadly broke mine. I love you Kacchan. I love you so much. Goodbye my love."

Screaming in pain and agony Katsuki couldn't get off the ground next to Izuku.

He called the police and hospital hoping to save Izuku but he was pronounced dead right on the spot.

Katsuki swore to never love again.

And that promise, he did keep.
