"What a wonderful world we live in huh? Such beautiful trees, creatures and amazing people don't you think?" Jay asks, while we walked on the path to the convenience store.

If only I could convince my parents that Jay wasn't as great at they thought.

"Aiyah! He's a cutie, don't you think sweetie?"  My mom has said. "How about you two go and buy me some things at the store for dinner tonight! We can invite him over."

As soon as my mom saw him, and his exemplary grades, I should've known it was over for me. I mean, it couldn't have been my complete fault that I hadn't realized he was my next door neighbor right?

"Your mom really loves me doesn't she?" Jay asks, already knowing the answer.

"Whatever Jay. Let's just buy the food already, and get this over with." I scoff, not looking up at him from my phone.

"Oh my gosh! Let's go buy some games to play at your house after school!" He exclaims, jumping up in the air.

"Don't we have homework? Mr. MyGradesAreAlwaysPerfect?" I roll my eyes.

"Homework is boring. I want to do something fun with my best friend. And either way, it isn't due til Friday. We've got three days." He says, "now let's go!"

We finally arrived at the convenience store, where Jay grabbed a cart and practically ran around every inch of the place.

"Oooo. Melon candies! Let's get some melon candies Viet!" Jay yells from across the store.

"Whatever Jay." I yell back.

And by the end of the food shopping, we've bought what my mom needed, and about 13 more snacks for us.

"Did my mom even give us enough money for the rest of these?" I whisper to myself checking my wallet.

"C'mon Viet, it's time to go. I already paid." Jay says, carrying a few bags.

"What? With what money?"

"Mine, duh. I just thought that since your mother was letting me stay and eat at your place, I should at least pay for the ingredients." He explains. "Now let go slow poke."

We leave the store and head back to my house.

I guess Jay is a bit tolerable.

.         .         .

Let me rephrase that...

Ahem.

He's a little annoying brat who really just shows off all the time isn't he?

"Yo Viet! Check this out!" Jay yells.

"We're literally three blocks away from my house, can we please stop stopping in random places just so you could stare at some random rock in the road?"  I complain.

It had taken us 40 minutes to go back home, when it should've taken us ten.

Courtesy of Jay, who had to stop every five minutes, just to point out this fancy rock he found on the ground.

"Oh c'mon Viet. This one is pretty I swear!" Jay complains back, motioning for me to come towards him.

I roll my eyes and make my way towards his direction. "Well...?"

"This one is pretty. It kinda reminds me of you!" He says, handing me the rock.

"What the..." I start. "How did this rock end up in the middle of a sidewalk?"

"Like I know. But it's pretty isn't it?" Jay asks.

"Yeah. I guess it does look pretty nice." I admit, looking at the object in my hand.

"Good. Then keep it." He says.

"What?" I raise my eyebrows at him. "Why the hell would I keep a rock?"

"Souvenir, duh. For the first time Jay and Viet has ever hung out." He explains, waving his hand in the air again as if he was some magician.

"Yeah whatever. Let's just get back to my house now alright?" Anger could probably be heard from my voice.

He nods and finally we were back on our way.

"Finally you're back!" My mom exclaims.

"Yeah. Sorry mom, Jay was busy looking for some cool things in dirt." I explain, leaving my mom confused as ever.

"It was not dirt exploring and you know that."
Jay fights back. "Oh and we got some snacks too, for ourselves. Don't worry I paid for them."

"Oh, you didn't have to Jay! That's so kind of you." My mom says, her eyes brightening up.

"Oh but I wanted to Mrs. Min. It was the least I could do since you're feeding an extra mouth tonight." Jay says back smoothly.

I roll my eyes again, and head up to my room.
"Wait for me Viet!" He says, grabbing and few snacks and following me up the stairs.

"So this is Viet's room." Jay says, stepping into my new room. "So settled in after a week. Even your posters are up now."

"Yeah. They're like beautiful so..." I say, motioning towards my BTS and SHINee posters.

"Not as beautiful as me so..." Jay says, brushing his hand through his hair.

"Jimin does it way better than you."

"I beg to differ. Although, Jimin is so much more talented than me."

"I agree." I say, smiling to myself.

We talked for a long time. About different things. What our favorite snacks were. How we liked our eggs in the morning. Just some random stuff that came to mind.

And honestly, I enjoyed it.

I enjoyed his company.
