CHAPTER FORTY-NINE: THE BEST NIGHT OF OUR LIFE

Lara and Five cheered their glass together before they leaned closer to each other.

But then the elevator door opened and Reginald entered the room causing everyone to look at him.

Five noticed as Reginald walked past their table, he glanced at Mitch and Andy, and Five didn't like that at all.

Reginald as he walked over to the buffet and began taking some food on his plate.

When Reginald had put some grapes on his plate he turned around.

"He better not sit here. Swear to God, he better not sit here" Diego said as Reginald walked past their table "Yeah, keep walking" Diego said.

"Who invited him?" Ben asked "Just suffer with us" Allison said "I can't get invited to a party and he's invited to this?" Ben said "Wow. You really can't relax" Allison said to Ben and Reginald sat down by an empty table.

"Now we're all here" Klaus said as Reginald started eating the grapes with a fork.

Reginald glanced at each of you while you glanced at him.

"Psst" Klaus said and Reginald looked at him and Klaus pointed at him from across the room and gestured for him to smile and he nodded before he did while looking around at the others.

Reginald smiled as Chet took a picture of him before walking away.

"Is he eating a deviled egg with a knife and fork?" Lila asked "That's sad. That's making me sad" Diego said.

"You're introducing me" Lila said and Diego shook his head "Now. Come" she said "No, I'm not. No, I'm not--" but she grabbed his hand as she got up "Go, go!" Klaus said to them as they started walking towards Reginald "Do you seriously want me--" "Yeah, come on. Do I look okay?" Lila asked "Yeah, you look good" Diego said to her as they approach Reginald who got up.

"Dad, Lila" Diego said and looked at Lila "Lila, Sir Reginald Hargreeves" Diego said to her "Mr. Hargreeves, what a pleasure" she said "Is that the trace of an East End accent I detect?" Reginald asked as he heard Lila's English accent.

"Good ear" she said "Mine was stamped out in favor of the Queen's. Let me guess. Spitalfields?" Reginald asked "Close. Whitechapel" Lila said "You must know the Cat and Custard" Reginald said "Next to the Fox and Hound" Lila said "Best chippy in East London" Reginald said "I would murder for a spot of mushy peas right about now" Lila said before they both chuckled as they looked back at Diego who look confused.

"So, how did you end up with this one?" Reginald asked Diego "Well, we met in a metal hospital" Lila replied "I have no doubt" Reginald said "Well, he might be a few sandwiches short of a picnic, but he'll do" Lila said with a smile "Indeed" Reginald said and kissed Lila's hand.

Lila smiled before she walked away "She's quite the specimen" Reginald said to Diego "Well, done, my boy" he said "Thanks, Dad" Diego said "It is unfortunate timing" Reginald said and Diego looked at him "Why?" he asked "You'd have made a superb father" Reginald said before he sat back down while Diego was confused, wondering how Reginald knew that.

"Mom, aren't you going up and meet Reginald?" Mitch asked "No" Lara said "Why not?" Mitch asked "'Cause I don't like him" Lara said "Maybe this timeline is different" Mitch said and Lara looked at Five "Maybe it wouldn't hurt" she said "Fine" he said and Lara grabbed his hand before she pulled him up.

"We are coming with you two" Mitch said as the two got up "What?" Five and Lara asked "Come on, we are not gonna join him or anything. We just to meet him, for real" Mitch said and Andy nodded "Okay, just come on" Five said and the four walked over to Reginald to got up.

"Dad, this is Lara. My girlfriend and this is our sons, Andy and Mitch. Lara, boys. This is my dad, Sir Reginald Hargreeves" Five said, not really happy for the whole situation.

"I remember you two. We talk in Dallas" Reginald said as he looked at the twins "Well, yeah" Andy said "Thank you for the advice, it really helped us a lot" Mitch said "You're welcome" Reginald said before he looked between Lara and Five.

"How did you end up with this one" he asked Five "We met at a bar where I work and it was supposed to be a one-nightstand but it evolved" Five explain "It's a long story" Lara said and Reginald nodded before looking at the twins again.

"And we are done here" Lara said before she looked at her sons "Come on boys" she said and the three walked back to their table. 

"She is quite lovely, you did a good job. You got a good one. Well done" Reginald said as he looked at Five who looked at him "I know" he said.

"It is unfortunate timing" Reginald said and Five raise a brow "Why?" he asked "You'd have made a superb father for the next one and I'm sure your sons would have love to meet their baby sibling" Reginald said "What?" Five asked "Don't worry, you wouldn't miss anything this time" Reginald said before he sat back down while Five's face grew in confusing, wondering how his dad knew about Lara's pregnancy. The only people that knew was the twins.

He also wonder how Reginald knew about Five missed the whole thing with the twins. But didn't thought much about it since he might think that Klaus have told him

Klaus walked over to where Ben was sitting down by a table "Hey, Ben-ihana" he said and Ben looked at him "Don't hit me" Klaus said and chuckled "Hey, listen. I know we ain't exactly been best buds in this timeline or whatever, but, man, do I have mission for you--" Klaus said and Ben looked at him before he belches, already drunk "Charming" Klaus said "13 people. There are only 13 people left" Ben said "Okay. Drunk Ben clearly likes numbers and...shrimp" Klaus said "And you couldn't even invite me to your stupid bachelor party" Ben said "Oh. Have we finally flicked off bad Benny's hard candy shell?" Klaus said "Why don't you like me?" Ben asked "Because you're a huge puckering asshole" Klaus answered "Okay, but you like the other Ben" Ben said "Yeah, we love the other Ben" Klaus said "Why? What was so special about him?" Ben asked "Because he was a know-it-all. He was a scold. He was tiny dark cloud on a perfect sunny day" Klaus said and laugh.

"Those...Those are all bad things" Ben said "Yeah, but they looked great on him" Klaus said "Okay, you know what? I am so much better than that other Ben. I was Number One. Twice. Does Dad give a shit? No, he was busy hanging out with you" Ben said "Oh, man, methinks you might be trying a little too hard. Look around. Nobody's polishing their boots or pressing their tights. We're complete and total shit show. Ya get it? And our Ben, my Ben, was just kinda disaster and it made him ridiculously easy to love" Klaus said and sighed before he patted Ben on the shoulder and walked away.

"Wait? Really?" Viktor asked as Lara and Five have told him the story of how they met.

"Yeah, a one-nightstand evolved" Five said "If he wasn't that great in bed, I wouldn't even have given him a second thoughts. He was also really bad in flirting" Lara said which cause Viktor to chuckled "Well, it work on you" Five said and Lara looked at him with a raise brow "Come on, be honest, if you weren't that good in bed, I wouldn't have even given you another chance" she said "Fine" Five said before he took a sip of his glass.

Viktor then looked up at Allison and he let out a sigh before he got up and walked over to her as Reginald hit on his glass with a fork.

He then tapped on the mic making it made a feedback whines. "I know it is customary...for the father of the bride..." he started.

"Hey" Viktor said as he walked over to Allison "I'm not in the mood" Allison said "Allison--" "No, I get it. It's wedding" Allison said, cutting him off "Everybody's drunk, and we're all supposed to be chummy. But I'm not feeling" Allison said "That's fine. You don't have to be in a festive mood. But will you please just hear me out" Viktor said.

"Sloane, ever since you were a little girl, I've always know you were exceptionally bright. And though I can't say I know Luther all that well, from the few moments we have shared, it seems you found yourself an adequate partner" Reginald said "He just called Luther adequate" Five said with a smile as he took a sip of his glass.

"Nicest thing he's ever said to him" Diego said as him, Lila and Klaus was sitting on a table together "The kerchief really softens him though" Klaus said "Shh!" Lila said to him.

"I acknowledge that, as a father, I was just without my faults. I hope these shortcomings will be seen as only a rough patch on an otherwise verdant lawn" Reginald said and Luther rolled his eyes.

"Look, I'm sorry. I was wrong. I lied, and...I betrayed your trust. But you're more important to me than anything in this entire world. Will you forgive me?" Viktor asked "No. I don't think I will" Allison said.

"I'm proud to call you my children. Even those whom I raised in a revenant version of myself" he said before he took a quick glance at the twins.

"I hope that tonight we can create a few special memories in whatever precious little time we have left. And now, in closing..." Reginald said.

"If you won't forgive me, I just want you to know that I forgive you" Viktor said "For what? I didn't do anything wrong. You know, I'm really tired of being the asshole that has to meet you halfway. I am tired of being a sucker" Allison said "You're the sucker?" Viktor asked "Our whole lives, all you said you ever wanted was for us to be close, and we finally got there, and you fucked it up. Not me" Allison said "Is this really how you wanna end thing?" Viktor asked with tears in his eyes "Don't worry. I'll sleep fine tonight" Allison said before she walked away, leaving the room.

"The sun rises over a lily's field. A mother veiled, her lips concealed. The mourners come in droves of black to bury what their hearts unpack. With shallow breath and time eclipsed, I pray you miss death's gentle kiss" Reginald before he lifted up his glass.

"That makes no sense" Ben said "Beautiful! Bravo, Dad! Bravo!" Klaus said, getting up before clapping.

"I didn't think the old man had it in him" Five said "Not the worst speech I have heard, but not the best either" Lara said.

"Alright. Time to turn those frowns upside down. This one is for all the party people in the place" Chet said before he started some music.

Five then looked at Lara before getting "Can you handle another dance?" he asked and she nodded "Of course" she said and he smiled as he stretched his hand towards her.

She grabbed it before he lead her to the dance floor with the others.

Both Five and Lara was dancing together with the twins as Klaus and Ben danced together while Luther and Sloane was dancing together.

Viktor was shaking his head while jumping up and down and there was time where him and Five would performed dance moves together while Lara was dancing dancing with her sons.

Klaus and Ben was dancing together while Luther and Sloane was dancing together.

Lila and Five was dancing together, twirling each other in vice versa while Lara and Diego danced together and Mitch was dancing with Klaus while Andy was dancing with Luther.

Luther and Viktor gave each other a chest bump while Lila circled around Sloane as the two was dancing together while Lara were dancing with Klaus before dancing with Lila who was dancing with Mitch and Andy.

They were all smiling as they were all dancing together while having fun like a family, forgetting that the end of the universe was right around the corner.

Five was standing up on the stage without his blazer singing 'Come In Mr. Lonely' by Jerry Dyke.

"Come on in. Sit right down. Mr. Lonely" Five sang drunk while Lara was, watching as Luther and Sloane was dancing together.

Luther had his arms around Sloane's waist while she had her hands on his shoulders as their foreheads was rested against each other.

"He's not half bad" Mitch said as he was standing next to Lara "He's alright" she said "You're too late..." Five sang.

"So, just to recap on this night" Sloane said as she looked at him "Mm-hmm?" Luther said "Ben and Five are blotto drunk" she said and Luther chuckled.

"Mr. Sadness..." Five sang.

"So, just to recap on this night" Sloane said as she looked at him "Mm-hmm?" Luther said "Ben and Five are blotto drunk" she said and Luther chuckled.

"And Viktor and Allison almost punched each other out" she said "Oh. Yeah" Luther said "And Dad recited a weirdly moving death poem" she said "You know, that's not bad for a Hargreeves family wedding at the end of the world" he said "You know, I didn't need a big to-do. This is all I needed" she said before they kissed.

"I can't even offer you a smile..." Five sang.

"That used to be us" Lila said as she was looking at Sloane and Luther "We were never like that. Gross" Diego said and she gave him a small slap "That's more like it" he said with a smile and she smiled back before they rested their forehead against each other.

"No offense. But you know. I'm still looking" Five sang with a smile.

"Dad is so wasted" Mitch said "So wasted" Andy said before he looked at his brother "5 dollars that I can drink you under the table" Andy said "You are so on" Mitch said and the two was about to run over to the buffet but then someone grabbed their collar before pulling them back.

"No" Lara said and the boys turned around to look at her "You two are too young to be drinking, so no and I swear if I see you two taking just one sip of alcohol, I will make sure that you two will be living in hell for the last 24 hours we have left, got it" Lara said as she pointed her finger at the two boys and they nodded in fear.

Wind was whistling as Lara, Five and the twins walked outside to Lila, Viktor and Diego who was sitting on some rocks all looking up at the red and orange sky, watching as the world was slowly coming to an end.

Five had a bottle in his hands as he sat down and Lara next down next to him while Mitch and Andy sat on each side of them.

Diego was leaned up against a rock while sitting on another rock with a blanket on as Lila was resting her head on his lap and Viktor sat on a rock with a bottle in his hand.

"It's cold out here" Lara said "Here" Five said as he took off his blazer before he put it over he shoulders "There you go" he said "You know that you didn't have to do that" she said "I know, but you know that I would do anything for you beside I don't want you or the baby to freeze" he said before he wrapped his right left arm around her shoulders and pulled he closer as she leaned your body against his side and Lara wrapped her arm around Mitch before pulling him closer.

"You want some?" Five asked Andy as he offer him a bottle "Five. Offer our son some alcohol and I will beat you to death with it" Lara said with a threated voice "Sorry" Five said before talking a sip himself while Andy smiled before they looked up at the red and orange sky, watching as the world was slowly coming to an end.

"It's probably a good thing. I would've been a shit mum" Lila said and Diego smiled before he kissed her cheek "I doubt that" he said.

"Hey, guys" Luther said while holding Sloane's hand who had his blazer over her shoulders.

Luther sat down on a rock while Sloane sat below him right between his legs.

"Hey, uh...I saw. And I...I appreciate you trying" Luther said to Viktor who was sitting next to him and he nodded as Luther put his hand on his shoulder.

"Oh, no, no, no, no!" Diego said as Klaus came walking over to them with his arm around Ben's shoulder as he was holding cigarette between two of his fingers and a bottle of alcohol in his left hand.

"Hey, what?" Klaus said "No!" Diego said "Klaus, why are you bringing Ben here?" Five asked "Come on. Hear me out before--" "Hear him out" Ben said, cutting Klaus off.

"The brother that you all knew as Ben is gone. And not--I don't mean our Ben, the nice Ben. I mean this Ben" Klaus said as he pointed on Ben who was drinking a bottle of alcohol "This asshole, he's gone" Klaus said "Gone" Ben said drunk.

"Klaus, what are you talking about?" Luther asked "And the man that stands in front of you is new new Ben, and he's one of us, and he's a member of the team" Klaus said before he raised his arms.

"And he's part of the family!" Klaus said at the same time Ben said "...Part of the family!" before they both laughed.

"Ben is drunk too" Mitch said "So drunk" Andy said before the twins chuckled.

"And as a welcome gift, I suggest we throw him off the roof" Five said as he pointed his thumb out "Yeah. I'll help" Diego said "Us too" Mitch and Andy said.

"You know what? You know what? He can stay. He can stay" Luther said "Why?" Diego asked "Because it's my wedding day, man. Come on. He can stay" Luther said.

"Yes" Ben and Klaus said as they walked over to sit with them. "Hey, big guy. Awfully nice of you" Ben said "Yeah, you're...you're welcome" Luther said before they all looked up at the orange clouds in the sky that the Kugelblitz has caused.

"Ooh! Woah! Holy smokes" Klaus said as he looked up at the sky.

Five took a sip of his bottle of champagne while Luther glanced at the others.

"Hey, you know something? Tonight is all I ever really wanted" Luther said "To get hitched?" Diego asked "Just...everybody coming together when it really mattere. One big real family" Luther said before he kissed Sloane's hand while Klaus and Ben locked arms with each other and the family was watching as the world was slowly coming to an end.

Five and Lara then looked at each other "You changed my life without even trying and I don't think I could ever tell you how much you mean to me. Since you came into my life, it has felt so much more enjoyable because I get to spent it with you by my side through it all. Meeting you was the best moment in my life. You showed me something different. Something I never felt before. You made me fall in love with you, without doing much at all. You made me the happiest I've been in a long time. I never knew how much a single person could change my life. I'm so glad you came into my life. You've given me so much to live for because you make me feel so many feelings that no one except you has been able to make me feel, so thank you. Thank you for being one of the few people in this world that actually understand me, because for a while I felt lost and then somehow, we found each other in this life three times and that changed everything. I am so grateful to have met you. Being loved by you has being the greatest gift of all time. You turned my life into a journey of love and happiness. Every second I spend with you, I fall even more in love with you" he said and she smiled before kissing his cheek.

But then Five coughed as he got up from the chair but he was so drunk that he let out a cough and said a retche sound as he almost fell before getting up again "Whoa! Whoa!" they all said as they saw the way he was wobbling.

"Dad, are you okay?" Mitch asked "Nope, he is drunk as fuck" Lara said "Oh, I think I'm gonna hurl" Five said as his stomach started rumbled and the others laughed "Actually, uh, I think I'm hungry. See ya, guys. I'm gonna hit the buffet" he said before walking away.

"Is he gonna be okay?" Viktor asked "It's Five. What do you think?" Diego asked "He will be fine" Lara said.

"DARLING, WHERE ARE YOU. I NEED YOU" they heard Five call out "I better go, someone need to babysit that man" Lara said before she got up "Thank you for this amazing night" she said before she looked at Mitch and Andy "You boys are going to bed now" she said "Come on Mom. Please just let us stay up a bit more" Mitch said "Yeah, this is the best night of our life. Let's us enjoy it just for another hour" Andy said.

"Please" the twins beg "Fine. One hour, but then it's straight to bed" Lara said and the twins nodded "We promise" they said.

"LARA" they all heard Five call out "You better go to him before he start crying" Lila said and Lara nodded before she turned around and walked over to Five.

"Maybe we should call it a night" Lila said "Come on, it's early" Luther said "Good night, guys" Lila said as she started getting up "Where we going? To bed?" Ben asked "The night's young" Klaus said as everyone started getting up "Where's he going? Where's he going. This isn't the end" Klaus said as he was walking after Ben "Come on, who's up for some more--" "Scrabble?" Ben asked, cutting Klaus off "...Karaoke. Yeah!" Klaus said "That's my cue" Viktor said before he got up and walked away.

"I'm hungry" Five said as Lara walked over to him "Then eat" she said "I'm hungry for something else" he said and she rolled her eyes.

"Okay, that's enough" Lara said as she took the bottle away from him before putting it on the table.

"You are gonna have huge hangover tomorrow" she said "You are so beautiful" he said "Come on Five, let's go to bed" she said "Darling" he said "What?" she asked.

He then pressed his lips against hers, she could taste the alcohol on his lips.

"Five stop" she said as she pulled away "You are so drunk" she said "This remind us of that night" Five said drunk but with a smile "Can I kiss you again?" he asked "No, you taste so bad of alcohol, it makes me sick" she said "Why are you not drunk?" he asked "'Cause I'm pregnant" she said "Right, I forgot" he said "You are so drunk" she said.

 "Come let's put another one in you" he said "That's not even possible. You can't get me more pregnant" she said "I still want to kiss you" he said drunk before he put his arms around her waist and pulled her closer.

"Five, stop" she said as he began kissing her neck but he didn't stop "Five, that's enough" she said as she push him away "Not here and not now. Maybe later, okay" she said and he nodded.

A drunk Five was wobbling down the hallway as he had a bowl with cereal in his left hand.

He turned around a corner and was about to walk towards his room but then his stomach started gurgling and he could feel that he was about to throw up.

So he dropped the stuff he was holding before he rushed over to a vase to throw up.

"With everything we've discussed it'd be folly to wait" he heard Reginald say.

Five lifted his head before he looked towards the voice to see a door that was on ajar and he could see Reginald talking to someone and Five narrowed his eyes "There is no time. I can't do this without you" Reginald said and Five moved closer to get a better view before he could hear the sound of his heartbeat thumping.

"Do we have a deal?" Reginald asked, holding out his hand and Five started hearing his heartbeat thumping rapidly.

Five felt more dizzy and he started stumble backwards and just as the elevator opened he stumbled into the elevator before he felled backwards with a thud, passing out as the elevator door closed.

The elevator took him downstairs again where he stumble into the ballroom where the rest was sitting.

He grabbed the mic, taking another sip of his bottle, before holding a speech for Luther.

Lara was in her room after leaving the wedding, the twins had gone to bed and now she was ready to go to bed.

But then she heard a knock on the door and she got up before opened it to see Five "Hello Darling" he said before he attack her in a kiss, walking forwards making her step back.

While their lips were still connected, he closed the door with his foot.

"You still taste like alcohol" she said "I don't care, I need you Lara. I need you so badly" he said before kissing her.

In an effort to hold her closely, she felt his fingers pressing into her sides. Five continued to stare at her until his hands eventually slid down and rest on her thighs "Lara" he mumbled.

She pulled her head away from him so she could see him better "Yeah?" she asked "You're so beautiful" he said as he smiled at her. She hold his shoulders tighter as she blushed even more.

"You didn't know that you were beautiful?" he asked "I never saw myself as beautiful" she said "But you are. You are the most beautiful person in the whole world" he said and she smiled.

His frown was turned upside down before leaning in her face and brushing his lips against her ear "So beautiful" he said in his low voice before moving to kiss her cheeks "So fucking beautiful" he said.

He then kissed her jaw and they pressed their lips together. He began nibbling the sensitive spot on her neck and she let out as gasp as he did it "So perfect and amazing in my eyes" he said.

He continued to kiss her neck at a dangerously low angle by her collarbone, his hands firmly holding onto her thighs. Her hands combed through his hair as she craned her head back. She let out a small moan and pull away from him to catch her breath.

Five then kissed her before he lifted his hand to her shoulder and he was about to pull down her dress but then she pull away.

"I really wanted to do this, but not while you are this drunk" she said "Come on" he said "No" she said.

But then he kissed her again and walked forwards causing her to step backwards making her sit on the bed.

"Come on, we did it before" he whispered in her ear.

It was so hard to resist Five, so Lara gave in "Okay, but only this time, since our hormones are swinging right now and it's so hard to resist you" she said and he smiled "I'm all yours my lady" he said before kissing her again.

As they kept kissing, he lowered her to the bed causing her back to hit the bed.

It did take long before both their clothes were removed and Five was kissing her neck.

She brought her arms up to his head, putting them through his hair. Tugging on his hair slightly while he moved down to her collar bone.

She tilted her head back farther into the sheet, tugging his hair more as he started kissing her neck again.

One of his hands came to brace her legs before moving it up to wrap around his waistline, his other coming down to dip her thighs.

She spread her legs for him, he head resting on the pillow as she grabbed the sheet that had been kicked off, wrapping it around both of them.

"I know that I'm drunk, but I'm not gonna forget this" he said before he leaned down placing the head of his penis in her hole, pushing himself in her.
