CHAPTER SEVENTEEN: GETTING CLOSER

Lara, Mitch, Andy, Five, Diego and Lila was bending down with their backs up against a small brick wall.

Diego was in a black suit with a brown and black tie and Five was still in his umbrella uniform. Lila was in a light blue dress.

Diego glanced over the wall quickly, seeing that no one was looking our direction.

He then put his hands on the wall and climbed over it before he crouched down next to a parked car. Lila climbed over the wall quickly before doing the same with Lara, Mitch and Andy behind them.

They were all hiding behind the parked car, bending down as they looked at the building where the Gala was being held.

"So, what's the plan?" Lila asked "We infiltrate, we identify, we extract. Double time" Diego said looking at them before he looked back at the building.

"What the hell does that mean?" Andy and Mitch asked 

Lila turned to Five "What the hell is he talking about?" she asked "Find the old man and get out fast" Five answered and Diego turned to look at him "That's what I said" he said "So find Reginald and then get out" Mitch said "Yeah, what I said" Diego said before he turned back "On me" he said before running towards another car while Mitch, Lara and Andy follow after him.

Lila looked back at Five "After you" she said but he just clenched his jaw and narrowed his eyes at her.

"What, I can't be polite?" she asked "Cut the crap. All right? My dimwitted brother might buy your bullshit, but I don't trust you for a second and I don't know what you are up to, but leave Mitch, Andy and Lara alone, understood, and if you touch one hair on the twins' head, I swear to God I'm going to kill you" he said "O ye of little faith" Lila said "Stick it up your ass" he said, looking at her while he smiled fakely.

Lila let out a smile before she went after the others with Five behind her.

Slow mariachi music was playing as Lara, the twins and Diego entered the building with Five and Lila behind them as overlapping chatter was heard.

Five quickly grabbed two glasses of champagne from a tray that was being held by a caterer before taking a sip from one of them.

He then turned to Lara "A drink?" he asked "Thanks" she said as she took the glass from him before they both took a sip while they quickly looked around.

"If you want to blending in, I don't think two teen drink alcohol isn't exactly the way to do it" Andy said as he looked at Five "I need it" Five said.

"I don't see Dad anywhere" Diego said "Just keep an eye out for the Majestic Twelve" Five said and was about to say something else when the twins spoke up "We will stay down here, while you and mom take upstairs" Andy said as he looked at Lara and Five.

"Listen, it's best I do this alone" Five said which cause Lara to glance at him "So you are saying that I'm useless?" Lara asked "No" Five said "Just go you two. Two and two is best" Mitch said "Well, I better go with you if now you get attack by a baby monkey again" Lara said and Five rolled his eyes "Fine. Don't fall behind" Five said as he put down his glass and Lara rolled her eyes before she also put her glass down and walked after him while the twins smiled.

"Can I ask you something?" Five suddenly asked when him and Lara reach the top of the steps.

"Yeah" she said "I don't know if now is the right time, but..." he said before he took a deep breath.

She looked at him as he turned to her "While we wait, can I have this dance?" he asked and she let out a smile.

"Do you even know how to dance?" she asked "I do" he said "So you wanna dance with me?" she asked "Just shut up and dance with me" he said and she raise her brow "That is not how to get a woman to dance with you. You got a lot to learn mister" she said "Maybe you could teach me?" he asked as he raise his left eyebrow in a flirting way.

"Unless you don't want to dance with me 'cause you are scared that I'm a better dancer than you" he said "As if Hargreeves" she said before she grabbed his hand.

Five twirled Lara around, admiring her perfect body embraced by the shimmering dress before he sliding his hand on her waist from behind, pressing her body tightly against his. 

He cast his gaze down and locked it with hers. Their lips just inches away, their heavy breath's mingling. Her other hand rested on her waist, just below his, their fingers touching.

"Why are you like this?" she asked "What do you mean?" he asked "Show no emotions one moment and then show emotions the next" she said before he whirled her around again and pull her back to him, her chest bumping into his while he look at her intensely.

She fell into his arms and he slid his hand to the small her back, claiming her as if she belonged to him. 

She sent her gaze on his again, resting one hand on his arm and the other left cupped in his as they kept dancing.

"You don't even know me" he said "But I would like to. I would like to know the guy who someone have tied me to him, who my boys actually like" she said and he let out a sigh.

She stared into his green eyes and she could see that he wanted to get this done so he could to live peacefully without any problems.

But then there was the sound of men murmur indistinctly which cause Five to quickly grab her hand before dragged her into another room, closing the door.

The two peek out to see a group of men walking down the hall and into another room before they closed the door.

Lara and Five walked out of the room before they walked up to the door and Five grabbed Lara's hand before he blinked them both into a closet inside the room where the group have walked in.

Lara almost fell but Five caught her "Easy" he whispered "What are we doing in here?" she asked "Shh" Five said before the two leaned forward to look out of the shades of the door.

They could see all the Majestic 12 gathered in a dark room that was dimly lit by a few lamps that were placed around the room.

"The president is continuing to make inquiries into Roswell and the other crash sites, gentleman. And, as you know, we cannot allow him to get his nose into our business. I've confirmed the motorcade will indeed be turning left on Elm Street. We'll have our people in place" a man explained.

"Gentlemen, this plan of yours seems ill-timed" said the man that had his back to the closet, and Five narrowed his eyes as he could recognize the voice, it sound like Reginald "It's going to be a turkey shoot" a man said.

Lara and Five moved a bit making a soft clatter causing the man to turn around and look at the closet and Five's eyes widened when he it was his dad, Reginald.

"Dad?" Five whispered "That's your dad?" Lara whispered "Shh" Reginald said to the other men and he grabbed a fire poker that was standing in front of the fireplace before he made his way towards the closet.

"Five, get us out of here now" Lara said and Five grabbed her hand and as Reginald began to jab the fire poker through the the door, Five blinked away with Lara.

The two appeared back on the hallway and you both exhales sharply as Five fix his shirt.

"You okay?" he asked "I'm a little bit dizzy" she said "Yeah, you get used to it" Five said "Well, it seems like we found Reginald" Lara said before she turned around but only to find one of the Swedes who was wearing the same outfit as a waiter to blend in.

"What the--"

The Swedes grabbed her before he push her against the wall.

Five heard Lara grunt and he turned around to see her in danger "LARA" he shouted before he blinked up on the guy's back "GET THE FUCK OFF HER. SHE IS TAKING" he shouted as he tried to snap his neck.

The guy let go of Lara before he grabbed Five and threw him away causing him to fall to the floor with a grunt.

"Fight someone your own size" Lara said before she threw a fist at the guy.

Five got up and was about to run over but then another one of the Swedes walked out from a room before looking at him.

"Shit" Five muttered and the Swedes grabbed his blazer, pulling him forward before he push him against the wall causing him to grunt before the guy shoved him towards another side of the hallway.

But before he could hit the wall, he blinked away before he appeared behind the guy and kicked him in the leg, causing the guy to fell on his knees.

He then jumped up on his back trying to snap his neck as he made a straining noise, but the guy lifted his arms behind himself before grabbing Five by the shoulder, leaning forward, swinging him up and threw him onto the floor causing him to groan.

The guy lifted his fist to punch Five but he blinked away with a whoosh before he appeared behind the guy.

The guy got up and turned around to look at him and Five clenched his fists, causing energy to sputter as he tried to blink but nothing happen, meaning his powers was failing him again.

"Oh, shit" Five said as the guy began walking towards him before he punched him in the face while Lara was fighting the other guy.

Lara then jumped up on the guy's back but then the second Swede grabbed her before throwing her down on the floor causing her to grunt in pain.

The Swede walked closer to her but then she kicked him in the stomach causing him to stumble backwards while she jumped up on her feet again.

The guy threw a punch at Lara but she bend down dodging the punch.

She threw a punch at the guy but he dodged the punch before he grabbed her by the throat and push her against the wall.

She then saw a small glass vase standing by a small table next to her, so she grabbed it before smashing it at the guy's face causing him to grunt while letting go of her as the glass shatter.

Diego then walked upstairs and as soon as he heard Five grunt, he looked to the right and saw him fighting against a guy while Lara was against the Swedes.

"Five...." Diego said and was about to walk over and help but then a belt was wrapped around his neck causing Diego to let out a gasp as the third Swedes Axel pulled him backwards down the hallway by the belt while Diego tried to pull it away.

Diego pulled up a knife before he threw a knife towards the guy fighting Five but it miss and hit the shelf next to him.

Lara dodged the punch before punching him right in the face and she kicked him in the stomach.

The guy then slammed her body into the wall next to her causing her to groaned as he let go of her arms before grabbing her throat.

But then she kicked her foot against his chest before pushing him off her causing him to stumble back catching himself on a small table by the window.

Lara threw a punch at his jaw, knocking his head to the side.

The guy swung a kick at her face causing her to let out a grunt.

She then kicked him in the groin before she threw a punch at him causing him to groan in pain as he stumbled back.

The guy threw a punch at her but she bend down, dodging the punch.

She dodged the punch before punching him right in the face and she kicked him in the stomach.

He threw another punch at her but she bent backwards, and moved around before she swung at him again, hitting him in the face.

Then Lila came walking up the stairs and she stopped when she heard both Five and Diego groaning.

She looked at Diego and was about to walk over and help him but then she heard Five groaning and she turned around to see Lara and Five against the Swedes.

Five groaning as he was getting slammed into a wall while Lara let out a grunt as a fist hit her in the face.

"Lila" Diego said and she looked at him "Help me! Lila! Help..." he said.

"Protect Number Five at all costs"

Lila grabbed Diego's knife that was stuck on the shelf before she turned around to ran over to help Five.

Lila kicked off her heels and jumped up on a small table, before she jumped up, grabbing the chandelier that was hanging from the ceiling and kicked the guy before she wrapped her legs around his neck.

Five sat up from the floor and blinked twice to see how skillful Lila fought. He could almost recognize the fighting patterns and skills.

Lila then let go of the chandelier and with her strength she pulled the guy down on the floor.

"You're welcome" Lila said to Five who was narrowing his eyes at her.

Five saw the guy get up and ran towards him before he push him out of the window.

Then the twins came walking up the stairs and their eyes widened at the sight.

"Mom" they said when they saw one of the swedes pressing her against the wall.

Mitch blink up on the guy's back "Let our mom go asshole" he said as he wrapped his hands around the guy's neck causing him to step back, letting go of Lara who gasp for air.

The guy step backwards towards another wall to get Mitch off but he blink away before he appeared next to his brother.

They then both swung a kick at the guy, hitting him in the face, knocking him to the floor.

"Great kick" Five said as he saw the guy fell to the floor "Thanks" the twins said and Five looked at Lara "You okay?" he asked in a voice like he actually care "I'm fine" she said "Good fighting skills" he said "Thanks" she said.

"Isn't it that old guy we are looking for?" Mitch asked as he pointed out the window.

Five looked out the window to see Reginald standing outside, waiting on his limo.

"Yeah it is" Five said before he grabbed Lara's wrist and blink away together with the twins. 

Diego looked at Lila who picked up her heels before running down the stairs, leaving him to fight against Axel.

Diego looked at Axel "Oh, yeah, mofo. It's just you and me. Show me what you got" he said and Axel charged towards Diego.

---

Lara, Five and the twins appeared outside the building where Five spotted his dad opening a car to a black limo.

Without realizing that he was still holding Lara's wrist, Five took a few steps forward "Tell me about a complicated man, Muse. Tell me how he wandered and lost!" he shouted out in Anicent Greek causing Reginald to look at him as he continued speaking Anicent Greek to him with his American accent.

Five remember the words, it was the citing from the opening paragraph of the book he had read to him and his siblings when they were kids.

Reginald looked at Five for a few seconds before his eyes landed on Mitch and Andy and his eyes widened for a few second before he got into the limo and drove away.

"What was that?" Mitch asked "Ancient greek. It was the Odyssey one, I got his attention" Five said.

"Five?" Lara asked and Five looked at her "Yeah?" he asked and her eyes looked down which cause Five to look down so see that he was still holding her wrist.

He quickly let go before he scratch the back of his head, a little embarrassed.

Then Diego and Lila ran up to the four "Was that him?" Diego asked "Yeah" Five said as they watch the limo drive away.

"You know, I'm starting to get the feeling Dad's avoiding us" Five said "Hate to be the boring one, guys, but, uh, it's time we get the hell out of here" Lila said, rubbing the back of her neck before she walked in front of the five of them.

Five took a step forwards, facing Lila "When you say 'we' who exactly are you referring to?" he asked, leaning forward and Lila turned around to look at him "Not a lot of ambiguity in that sentence" she said "Listen, I don't know who you are or where you came from, but whatever it is, I'd advise you return posthaste" Five said as he glared at her "She's right Five, we need to get out of here" Diego said, stepping forwards.

"I just saved your life, you kinder-shit. If I hadn't stepped in, all that would be left of you is a blazer and some bloody socks" Lila said "And that's the problem. You're too good. You ask too many questions. You know too much. And you fight like you know what you're doing" Five said "He's got a point" Diego said, looking at Lila "So I know how to handle myself, and that makes me the bad guy?" Lila asked before she glanced at Lara "I mean, what about Lara. No one told she could also fight like that. Why are you not questions her too?" Lila asked and Lara gave her the finger.

"There are many reasons, for the first I trust her and she is Mitch's and Andy's mom. But you I don't trust. So whoever you are, you're in my way. If I see you again, I will kill you" Five said before he walked away.

"Come on boys" Lara said before she follow after Five. 

The twins glance at Lila before they follow after their mom.

Mitch and Andy told Lara and Five that they would go back to Elliott's place.

So Lara and Five returned back home to Lara's apartment. 

Lara found the first aid kit before she started wiping the blood of Five's nose.

"Can I ask you something?" Five asked "Yeah" she said "How did you ended in your younger body?" he asked.

"Mitch and Andy loved using their powers and one day they wanted to travel back in time to see who their dad was. They were not gonna changed anything, they just wanted a quick glimpse of him, so they knew who to look for. I came walking into their bedroom to see bright blue light around them as they were holding hands. I went to stop them, but when I touch them. We were all thrown backwards and I opened my eyes again so see that I was in my younger body. The twins was heartbroken over what they did and they promise they would never do that again" she said.

"Who is their father if you don't mind me asking?" he asked "Just some guy I met at a bar. It was meant as a meaningless one nightstand but it turned into more. And after a year I discovered that I was pregnant. But when I was gonna tell him. He told me he wanted nothing to do with me or the child. I was nothing by a meaningless hook-ups. He saw me as nothing else. He told me it was best to forget about him cause he have already forgotten about me and then he told me to get rid of the baby. It broke my heart cause he was actually the first guy that I have really love. So I was heartbroken. I felt betrayed, used. I hate myself because I still loved him. I wanted to forget about him and the pain he cause me and the best way to do that, is to start over. So I did. But I refuse to get rid of the child that was growing inside me. A part of me always wanted kids, and even so the father was an asshole. Then I couldn't let something innocent suffer for the stuff its dad did. So I moved away from the city. Raise Mitch and Andy on my own. But a small part of me hope that the father would show up, but he never did. He didn't even sent a letter. Nothing. So I stop waiting and started dating again, but never found the right guy" she explain.

"Woah, I'm sorry about that. And that guy is an asshole. Using and treating you like that. The last he could do was to be part of his kids' life. He is a dick" Five said and she smiled "Yeah" she said with a nod "But you did a good job raising them all by yourself. They are great kids" he said "Thanks. They are my boys and there is nothing I wouldn't do for them" she said "Well, they are your sons, you are their mother. So of course, you would die before you let anything happen to them" he said "Well, a true parent will do anything for their kids, everything" she said and he nodded.

"So how about you?" she asked "I don't know" he said "Come on. I shared mine. Share your story" she said "I'm nervous that you wouldn't like me afterwards" he said "There is nothing you can say that make me look at you different" she said and he took a deep breath before he told Lara about his family, who was who and what their powers was.

"I was born together with 43 other kids with special abilities, we were all born on the same day, the first day of October 1989. None of these woman had been pregnant when the day first began. The eccentric billionaire Sir Reginald Hargreeves adopted as many of the children as possible. He ended up getting seven of them and called them The Umbrella Academy, I was one of those kids. We all had speciel powers except Vanya, I don't know why he kept her. Well anyway. We were all born with powers, me, well as you know I have the ability to teleport both short and long distances. But my dad was the worst father ever. He never took care of me or mine siblings or loved us. We were taking care of by a robot woman who we called mom. He adopted us yeah, but instead of treating us as his children, he treated us like we were lab rats on his little eksperiment. My father emotionally abused me and my siblings. He only had us because of our abilities. Instead of giving us name, he called us by numbers. He let our robot mother name us" he said "Why don't you have a name but your siblings does?" she asked "Well, I don't want to. The rank system had a negative effect on all my siblings, except for me. I didn't care that I was not perfect in my dad's eyes. I knew that I have great power. My number don't have a huge impact on me, so I never changed my name" he said before he took a deep breath.

"Well, we were trained to save the world. We became the finest crime fighting forces in the city. We became quite famous. But no one knew what was really going on inside the Academy. My dad was a sadistic lunatic who's planning on gambling all of me and my siblings lives in another pointless mission. And that he saw us as nothing more than experimental material that could be tested, prodded, and abused in order to accomplish the tasks he set out for us. He emotionally abused me and my siblings. Which explains why all my siblings are emotionally stunted adult-children. My dad would make us train against each other from six a.m. to noon. At noon, we got a thirty minute lunch break. After that, it was training again until dinner time" he said before he let out a sigh.

"My father was the worst, gave us a tattoo with the academy logo on our left wrist when we were 13" he said before he showed her the tattoo on her left wrist. It was a black umbrella inside a circle. "Why did he do that?" she asked "I don't know, maybe to show us that we were part of the Umbrella Academy" he explain "So it was like he branded you?" she asked and he nodded "Yeah" he said "So you all have one?" she asked "Except Vanya" he said "Why?" she asked "Because she was ordinary but it turns out she have powers just like us and she was the cause of the apocalypse Anyway. He would make us train against each other from six a.m. to noon. At noon, we got thirty minute lunch break. After that, it was training again until dinner time. He used to put these sticky things on our temples when we were sleeping. Put up small camera at our beds too, and he monitored us when we were asleep" he said before he let out a scoff "And he thought I had no idea" he said before he chuckled "There was this one time, it was horrible and I regret doing it all, I wanted to time travel. I asked him to practice time traveling. And my father told me I wasn't ready, and I guess he was right. But I got mad and ran out. I jumped forwards to spring, to summer, to winter and then-poof- the apocalypse" he said before he sigh "God. It has being years ago, but I can still hear his voice, saying 'I told you so'" he said before he let out a chuckled "Woah, I didn't knew that. I'm sorry" she said as she looked at him and he could see that she was actually sorry.

He then told her about his life in the apocalypse. Finding his siblings' dead bodies in the rubbles. How he was completely alone for years in a broken world. How he found an mannequin name Delores and used her to talk with so he wouldn't go insane.

"So you lived there for so many years how...." "How am I still a teen?" he asked and she nodded "Well, that lead to the next part of the story" he said before he started explained how he came in contact with The Handler and his work at the Commission. How he became the best and most dangerous assassin. He told her how he had worked hard everyday to get back to his family and save them. How he ended up in his teen body when he used his powers to travel back. He skip out the part where he met a woman name Lizzy and her dying 'cause it was too painful for him.

He just didn't know that the woman he loved was sitting right next to him.

"My siblings think that I hate them. You seem to know more about me than my siblings does. They knew me for thirteen years before I left, and you've only know me for a few days now" he said before he ran his fingers through his hair.

"I think they forget that I'm a human being with feelings that can make mistakes" he said "You were born into a family that doesn't always appreciate you, but one day things are going to be very different" she said "You think so?" he asked "I don't think. I know. One day they will see and understand all you have done for them. I don't know if all of them will see it, but I have a feeling that one of them don't and wouldn't blame you for the things that have happen" she said and he let out a sigh before he got up.

"Listen. I know we were both drunk, but I know you felt something Five, so did I. Something I have not felt in anyone before. Except one, but he is long gone now and I can't keep waiting for him" Lara said "What do you want me to say Lara?" Five asked as he got up "That I felt something when we slept together" he said as he turned around to face her "I have someone, but she was torn away from me, therefore I'm scared that if I let myself be happy. The world is just gonna come crashing down and I can't handle that" he said before he looked down.

"Five" she said as she got up "You have to let yourself be happy. Even someone like you deserve it" she said before she put his face in her hands.

"You are not alone anymore Five, you have a family, be happy about that, not all people have that" she said as she looked at him.

"I'm sorry for everything you've been through. And I understand why you are keeping it for yourself. But I don't care about that. I don't care that you're an adult man in his teen body. I'm an adult woman in her teen body. You have risked so much just to save your family. It doesn't changed what I think about you. You risked so much just to save your family. You're a person, Five" she said "I'm an assassin. I assassinate target that interfere with the timeline" he said "Tell me these are bad people that you kill, Five. They're aren't good people going about their day, just living their lives. Right? They deserve to be killed?" she asked "Sometimes they're bad, but mostly they're not. It depends on the timeline" he said as he stared at her.

Five actually like Lara. She was beautiful, smart, amazing and not to mention fierce and he like that. She remind him a lot of Lizzy.

Same eyes, same hair color, same personality and just as amazing in bed. 

"Please Five. It's okay to let people in sometimes" she said "I---" he said before he took a deep breath.

"I want this Lara. But I'm just scared and suck at all of this, but it's like when I'm with you makes everything easier. And I know that I have only know you a very short time, but I have this feeling saying that I have know you longer" he said "I feel the same way" she said "We can't ignore this" he said "Maybe we can" she said before she turned around.

But then he grabbed her wrist and turned her around before he pulled her closer to him, pressing his lips against hers in a quick and hard kiss.

(SMUTS)

She pull away and put her hand on his chest before she grabbed the collar of his blazer and pulled him towards her.

They pulled away before they looked at each other and smiled.

He lifted her up and she wrapped her legs around his waistline before he blink over to a wall making Lara's back leaned against it as they kept making out.

While they were making out, he pulled off her shirt, throwing it to the side, before he blinked and they appeared over by another wall, before Five pulled off her small T-shirt and threw it to the side.

Five blinked again before they appeared over by another wall and she pulled off his blazer before she throw it to the side.

He blinked again and they appeared by the door still making out. She brought her hands to his tie and she started to untying it quickly. He grabbed it from her and tossed it to the side before he smashed his lips against hers.

Five blinked again and they appeared by in the bedroom and while their lips were still connected, he lowered her to the bed, so her back was press against the bed while he was on top of her.

He put both of his hands beside her head and she smiled as she flipped him over so that he was under her. He smiled before she smashed her lips together again.

He pulled her closer before he flipped her around again.

She pulled him closer so that their bodies were pressed up against each other.

He moved his head down, making his lips move to her jaw before he moved his head again and began kissing her neck.

She leaned her head back while he was kissing your neck.

He took off his shirt before tossed it to the floor.

She lifted her arms up to his head, moving them through his hair.

She then pressed her lips together again.

As they continued making out, she went for his belt, she undone it and Five took them off.

He shook his head with a groan before tossing his shirt off and moving forwards, softly kissing her while his hand moved up to her thigh.

He kiss her again, trailing his mouth down her neck and started kissing the side of her neck.

He let out a smile before he brought his lips to hers, pushing her down on the sheet more.

Her hands moved to his underwear as his hands did the same before taking them off.

He was about to enter her when she put her hands on his bare chest "Wait" she said "What?" he asked "Before we go all in and all wild and hardly. You better use a condom" she said "You are right. Sorry" he said and she opened her draw at her nightstand before she pulled out a condom and handed it to him.

"Put this on" she ordered "Yes Madam" he said as he grabbed it before he opened it "So you have had other guys?" he asked "Nope. But fun fact when I brought this place. I found them in the bathroom and put them in here, just in case " she said and he nodded as he put it on.

"It fit" she said and he chuckled "Ready to go double wild?" he asked and she nodded "Only if you let me be the dominant one?" she asked and he smiled as he leaned closer to her so his lips were by her ears.

"We will see" he said before he pressed his whole body more against her and she let out a moan as he enter her.

"Just so you know, this don't changed anything" she said as he was kissing her neck while she had her legs wrapped around his waistline.

"We'll see" he said between the kisses and she smiled as she tugged his hair while she leaned her head back, closing her eyes as their bodies was as pressed against each other as they could be.

(A/N: I want you guys to know that I don't see Five as a child, in all my Five fic, I picture him as an adult. And I'm NOT sexually attracted to either Five or Aidan Gallagher. There is a long list why I like them but one of the big reasons it's because of their personality. Beside this is a fanfic guys. So don't take all of my smuts in my stories so seriously. It's just a fanfic)
