CHAPTER SIXTEEN: YOU'RE BEAUTIFUL

Flashback start...

After being discharged from the hospital, Lara spend some time at her old apartment, trying to text and call Will, but he never answered the text and his phone went straight to his voice mail.

"Okay, you know what. I'm tired of this. I'm pregnant and you are the father, so you can't just do this to me. Please Will. I need you. The child need its father, please Will. I love you. So I just want you to know that. It's okay if you don't love me back but the child deserve to know who its father is. I'm moving to another city next month, got offered a job there and I just want to tell you 'cause I hope that you at least call me" Lara said before ending the call.

But then suddenly it knock on the door and Lara smiled, thinking it would be Will.

But when she opened the door she was meet with a woman that had short white hair.

"Hello" she said with a smile "Who are you?" Lara asked "You are Lizzy right?" the woman asked and Lara nodded "And you are?" she asked "I'm Will's wife" the woman said and Lara's eyes widened.

"By the look on your face I can see that you didn't know he was married" the woman said "No" Lara said "Well, he is and we are very happy" the woman said "He never mention you at all" Lara said "Well, we got into a fight and were separated for some times. But last weeks, we made it up again" the woman said "Is he okay?" Lara asked and the woman nodded "He is. He got your messages and he sent me to tell you that he want nothing to with you or that thing that's inside you" the woman said and Lara raise a brow.

"But he--" "Yeah, he is like that. You were nothing but a meaningless hookups he needed" the woman said and tears started showing in Lara's eyes "But I thought--" "You thought wrong. I'm sorry honey, but that just how Will is. He didn't want to come 'cause he couldn't even look at you and he ask me to tell you that he also want nothing to do with that brat that you are carrying" the woman said "'Brat?" Lara asked "His words not mine. He think the best you can do is forget about him 'cause he have forgotten about you and get rid of that brat you are carrying is a good start" the woman said and tears was show in Lara's eyes. 

"I'm sorry girl, I'm sorry that he was able to trick you" the woman said.

Lara didn't answer as she just closed the door which cause the woman to smile.

"Well, that was easy" she said before she turned around and left.

Tears ran down Lara's eyes as she leaned her back against the close door before she slid down, crying.

Just when she thought she have found the one, she was fooled. She couldn't believe that she was trick, she was played and fooled with. Will was just like all the other guys, using her and then throw her away like she don't mean a thing to them.

She pulled up her phone before she called Will and as expected it went straight to voice mail "Hey this is Lizzy. You know the woman you said you have falling in love with. The woman you slept with for almost a year. The woman you trick and fooled with. The woman who thought you were different. Well, I got your message from your wife. And you know what. You're a coward. You don't deserve to know your kid. You don't deserve this. I don't deserve it, I thought you were different but I was wrong. Don't ever try to contact me or call me. I hate you. I hate you so fucking much, I thought we have something, but I was nothing but a meaningless hook-ups 'cause you have some issues with your wife. I hate you and I wish I have never met you or falling in love with you. Fuck you Will. Burn in hell" she yelled into the phone before ending the call.

She then started crying even more before standing up and walk into the bedroom to see one of Will's shirt that he left there one day.

She picked it up before pressed it against her nose, it still smell like him which cause her to start crying even more.

In anger and sadness she threw away the shirt.

She felt betrayed, fooled and lied to. She felt used.

She hated Will, but she also hated herself  'cause she still love him. But she needed to move on, she don't deserve this, she is better of without him, he don't deserve to be thinking about. It's best to changed her phone number and it's a good thing she is moving to another state. She want nothing to do with him. It's time for a new start.

God, I wish that you had thought this through

Then her eyes widened as she remember something.

The baby.

She put her hands on her belly as she remember the baby that was growing inside of her. Will's baby. The child him and her have conceive together.

Many people would remove the baby, as a perfect way of leaving the past behind and want nothing to do with the father.

But no, just because Will was an lying asshole then the baby's shouldn't get punish. 

She can't let something innocent suffer for the stuff its dad did. 

Yeah Will didn't want nothing to do with her or the baby but Lara actually wanted children and maybe this was her only chance in having one.

This was her chance to proof herself. And also a child is a good way to start a new chapter in your life.

Lara was gonna keep the baby and she was gonna give it so much love.

Flashback ends...

"You want me to protect Five?" Lila asked as her and The Handler was eating pancakes.

"It's not that complicated, honey" The Handler said "If anyone deserves to die, it's him" Lila said "That's true, but--" "The most wanted man in the Commission" Lila said, cutting The Handler off.

"Yes" The Handler said "Now you want me to protect him" Lila said "That's correct" The Handler said "After everything he's done to you? He's the reason you got demoted" Lila said "Be that as it may...he's worth more to me alive" The Handler said before she poured herself some wine in her glass.

"If you want to kill somebody why don't you kill Diego?" she asked and Lila shook her head "No" she said "You sure? I think it'll make you feel better" The Handler said "Nah" Lila said before taking a bite of her pancake.

"Suit yourself. Pass me more syrup, will you?" The Handler asked and Lila grabbed the syrup before she poured some syrup on The Handler's pancakes.

"By the way. The twins are here" Lila said and The Handler froze a bit.

"They are?" she asked and Lila nodded "Yeah, and their mom is also here" she said "That's not good. Why are they here? I thought they died" The Handler said.

"Seems like they are much harder to kill than you thought" Lila said "Well, everyone can be killed" The Handler said.

"I can't believe that they have not figure it out yet" Lila said "Well, they are stupid and not trying to realized the patter. And that is good. I don't want them to find out until it's too late" The Handler said. 

"By the way, I ran into some trouble at the asylum, during the escape" Lila said as The Handler poured some more syrup on her pancakes "These three blond guys. Total cowboys" Lila said and The Handler froze for a second before looking at Lila "They're here already?" she asked "Wait, you know those freaks?" Lila asked "Commission muscle. Triplets. Like Huey, Dewey, and Louie, only a little more meshugahs" The Handler said "You sent them?" Lila asked.

"Of course I did" The Handler answered "Why? They nearly killed me" Lila said "Well, they have to make it look good. Right? Otherwise, people might suspect that we're working together" The Handler said "So they know I'm on the job?" Lila asked "It's all a performance. Look, if they wanted you dead, you would've been long gone by now, little one" The Handler said "You need to stop calling me that" Lila said "Aww" The Handler said before getting up "Listen to me" she said as she walked over to Lila "No one is trying to kill you" she said as she stroke Lila down the cheek "We're all working towards the same goal" she said "Which is?" Lila asked "Well, that's the thing about the Commission, isn't it? Some things just don't make sense... until they do" The Handler said before she brushed Lila's bangs "I like the fringe" she said before she patted Lila on the head.

"Protect Number Five at all costs. And also protect the twins" The Handler said "Why?" Lila asked "'Cause we can use them" The Handler said.

Luther was laying in his bed as he grunt softly "Luther?" Vanya asked as she was holding a towel "Allison?" Luther asked weakly and she began opening his eyes to see Vanya.

"Sorry to disappoint" Vanya said with a smile "Here. For your face" she said as she handed him a towel.

 "Do you need a pillow or...an...an aspirin?" she asked "Wait, uh...why are you here, Vanya?" he asked "You're my brother. I mean, apparently" she said and chuckled "Five found you" he said "Yeah, him and two kids name Mitch and Andy, they are downstairs waiting with the car. Said you're be better off alone" she said while he was groaning softly as he sat up.

"Yeah. He's an asshole" she said "Such an asshole" she said and sat down next to him "Right?" he said "Right" she said and they both chuckled.

"Um...How much did Five tell you?" he asked "Um, well, he filled in some gaps. Uh, seven children, a talking chimpanzee...a very warm and cuddly father. An apocalypse" she said "He told you about that, huh?" he asked "Well, not all of it. Because I think there's something he left out. About me" she said "Huh" he said "What caused the apocalypse?" she asked "You did" he answered and she looked down "But not alone. I was part of it. I mean, we all were" he said "How?" she asked "Uh, you got angry, lost control, and you...blew up the moon. It slammed into Earth, wiping out everything" he said.

"Why would I do that?" she asked, her voice trembles a bit "It's complicated. Look...you had kind of a bad childhood" he said.

Then the door slammed opened and Jack Ruby rushed in "Why the hell did you throw that fight?" he asked angry "Jack" Luther said, getting up.

"Answer me!" Jack shouted "Sorry...I had a bad night" Luther answered "Bad night, you son of a bitch? You could take that chump's head off in your sleep!" Jack shouted before he grabbed Luther's shirt, pressing him against the wall "I owe a lot of money right now. Luther, to people that can make things very hard on me!" he shouted "Leave him alone!" Vanya said "Shut up and mind your business!" Jack shouted at her.

"Jack, look...I'm sorry. All right? I'm gonna make it up to you, I promise. Okay?" Luther said "I treated you...like a son" Jack said "Jack, come on" Luther said "No. You and me...we're done" Jack said and let go of him "Jack, please" Luther said but Jack just turned around before leaving.

"Luther?" Vanya asked "Would you, uh...just get out, please?" he asked "Well, I don't mind staying, and I have some more questions" Vanya said.

But Luther let out a shout before he punched the brick wall, making a hole.

Luther looked outside to see Mitch, Five and Andy with their back leaning against the car.

Five, Mitch and Andy had their arms crossed over their chest as they leaned forward a bit while they narrowed their eyes to look at the hole that Luther had made. They shook their heads with a smile while letting out a softly chuckled.

"I wonder what pissed him off?" Andy said "Luther have always had a short temper" Five said "Is it his time of the month?" Mitch asked which cause Andy and Five to chuckled "Probably" Five said.

Then the door opened and Vanya stepped out. 

"Well, that clearly went well" Five said as him, Mitch and Andy walked over to Vanya who walked past them a little fast "You ready to go?" Andy asked with his hands in his pockets as the three follow Vanya who was walking towards the car.

"I'm going back to the farm" Vanya said "Hey" Five said, as he started running to catch up with her "Hey. Unacceptable, Vanya" he said as they caught up to her "Remember, we need to stick together" Andy said and Vanya turned to the three "Oh, why, so I don't end the world again?" she asked causing Andy and Five to let out a scoffed before they looked back at the wall.

"Stupid" they muttered as Vanya grabbed the handle "Assface" Andy muttered.

"Were you even gonna tell me?" she asked as she turned to Five and he turned to her "You know what? In my defense, no. All right?" Five said as he leaned towards Vanya, putting his hands in his pockets "And you can blame me? When you...you get angry, shit blows up. Like how you almost killed Mitch and Andy" he said a little angry.

"Great" Vanya said with a nod before she turned but only to see Andy and Mitch standing by the door.

"Vanya, Five is right, we need to work together. If we are gonna stop the apocalypse, we need to work together" Andy said "Step aside" Vanya said aggressive "Vanny, please just listen to him, I know how you feel, but please listen to him" Mitch said but then Vanya's eyes turned an icy blue color and her skin also turned the same color.

The twins raise their brow but then Five immediately grabbed Vanya's shoulder before he turned her around so she was facing him "No, Vanya" he said as he pointed his finger at her "You don't do that to them again, okay. They are just kids" Five said  and Vanya's skin and eyes changed back before she turned back to the car.

The twins looked at Five who sent them a nod and the twins took a step aside.

"Are there any other family secrets you failed to mention?" Vanya asked before she got into the car and closed the door "A boatload, Vanya, which I don't have the luxury of sharing them with the--" he said and he let out a sigh before he knocked on the window as Vanya put the key in the car.

Five sighed as Vanya rolled down the window "The clock is ticking on doomsday" Andy said "Just tell us that when we need you, you'll be ready" Five said "I can't help you three. I don't even know who I am" Vanya said "You're our sister" Five said as Vanya started the engine "And a member of the Umbrella Academy. Like it or not, that's who you are" Five said "Look, that's who I was, okay? New timeline, new me" Vanya said as she pressed on the gas "No, that's not how it work--!" Five and Andy shouted after her as she drove away.

The three let out a sigh as they watched Vanya drove away.

"So, what now?" Mitch asked before the three turned to the building, looking up at the hole, to see Luther looking at them through the hole and he put his middle finger up.

Five moved his head to the side while Mitch and Andy gave Luther the middle finger back.

Five then put his hands in his pockets "Wonder if it's too late to be un-adopted" he said as he began walking away. "EAT SHIT MONKEY MAN" Andy shouted at Luther as he give him the finger "YEAH, GO BACK AND KISS YOUR DAD'S, DADDY'S BOY" Mitch shouted as he also gave the finger to Luther.

"Boys, come on. We don't have time" Five called out and the twins turned before they walked after Five.

When the three came back they saw Diego and Lila sitting on the couch.

"So you are awake" Mitch said "Yeah" Diego said "I thought it was impossible for you to get stab since you are the master of knives" Andy  said "Well, he did, and by his own father" Lila said and Diego glanced at her.

"Where is Vanya?" Diego asked "She got mad at us for not telling her that she was the cause" Five said.

"So, what, you just let her go?" Diego asked as he was sitting on the couch while Lila was sitting next to him, changing the bandage on his stab wound.

"Well, Vanya had a lot to process" Five said as he walked behind the couch Diego and Lila was sitting on before stopping by a table while Lara was standing with her back leaned against the wall as Mitch was sitting on a chair while Andy was sitting on one of the desks.

"She'll come around. I know she will" Five said with a sigh as he stopped at the table.

"What about the guys that went after her?" Diego asked "The Swedes?" Five said "Yeah, I mean, how do you know they won't go after her again?" Diego asked as Elliott came into the living room and handed Lila a mug of coffee before he put another mug of coffee on the table for Five.

"We don't" he said "Mm, any idea who sent them?" Lila asked "Oh, I have my suspicions" Five said and sent Lila a trademark smirks as he picked up his mug from the table.

"But right now, our priority is finding Dad and getting answers, 'cause everything else depends on it" Five said before he sat down on a chair.

"Which, for the record. I found him already" Diego said "And then let him go before we could have a meaningful conversation" Five said as he crossed his right leg over his left "Yeah, he stabbed me" Diego said "I'm surprised he waited this long, Diego. We've all had the urge" Five said causing Elliott and Lara to let out a chuckled while Mitch and Andy laughed.

"Good one" Lila said as she put her hand out so Five could high five her which cause Five to look at Lila weirdly as he leaned forward.

Five knew that the high five wasn't invented till 1977 during a baseball game which cause Five to get more suspicious.

Five then looked at Diego "Good thing I know where Dad's gonna be tonight" he said before he pulled a folded piece of paper out of his pocket and he leaned more forward, giving it to Diego.

"Where'd you get this?" Diego asked "Found it at his office while he was busy stabbing you" Five said and Diego let out sarcastically chuckled "Yeah, Five grabbed it right before he got scratched by a baby monkey" Lara said and Five sent her a glare "You did?" Andy asked "He did, it was actually really funny" Lara said "Well, you seems pretty obsessed in cleaning the wound" Five said "I didn't want it to get infected" Lara said "So you do care?" Five asked "Well, you are our best way out of here. You can go die all you want after you have gotten us home" Lara said "You would miss me too much if I died" Five said as he looked at Lara with a flirting smirked.

"Stop looking at me like that or I will kick you right in your balls" she said "Well, maybe I would like it" he said "In your dreams" Lara said "Is that a challenge?" Five asked as he looked at Lara with another flirting look.

"Can you two stop flirting for a moment and let's get back to topic" Diego said which causing Lara and Five to snap out of their little world.

"Wait, was that flirting" Mitch whispered to his brother "How should I know that. But people can be flirting in all kind of ways and if Five and mom is flirting that means our plan is working" Andy said before the two brother fist bump.

Five then grabbed his mug but Lara beat him to it "I will take that. Thank you" she said "Fuck you" Five mumbled.

"'Hoyt Hillenkoetter and the Consulate General of Mexico in Dallas cordially invite you to a gala'" Diego read out "Whoa, wait. Hoyt Hillenkoetter?" Elliott asked and we all looked at him "Are you serious?" he asked "You know him?" Five asked "We should go. Says there's gonna be a seafood tower" Lila said.

"No. Hillenkoetter is...is one of the Majestic Twelve" Elliott explained as he pointed at the invitation in Diego's hand.

"The hell is the Majestic Twelve?" Diego asked "What? It's a...a secret committee" Elliott said as he put down his mug before he walked over to a desk in the corner of the room.

"Uh, scientists, military, uh, deep state. No one know what they really do" he said as he went through the desk, searching through all the papers on the desk.

"Wait, so they're government?" Diego asked "Shadow government" Elliott said before he walked over to another desk "Yeah, Kennedy was the first president to try to push them into the light, but these guys are not to be trifled with" he said.

"Oh..." Elliott said before he pulled out a picture from a pile of papers "Oh, here we go. Ah, right here" he said and walked over to the others before he put the picture on the table and the others leaned forward to see the picture better "This, uh...Oh, right here" he said, pointing at the picture "That's Hoyt right there" he said "Huh" Five said as Diego let out a grunt and sigh as he sat up slowly.

"I only count 11" Lila said as she looked at the picture.

"Well, that's because they've only identified 11 so far" Elliott answered "Who's the twelfth?" Diego asked and Five looked at Diego with a raised eyebrow.

"Well, I think we should go" Lara said which cause them all to look at her "What do you say boys?" she asked as she looked at Mitch and Andy. 

"Hell yeah, this is gonna be so much fun" Andy said "You three want to come?" Five asked "Yeah, of course" Lara said "We can't let you do all the fun" Andy said "Beside, we are in this together" Mitch said.

After have changed into something more fit to the gala. Andy and Mitch enter the living room again.

Andy was wearing a black suit while Mitch was wearing a pink one.

"You kids ready?" Five asked and they nodded "Okay, let's go" Five said "Wait" Mitch said "What?" Five asked "We need mom" Andy said "Where is your mom?" Five asked "Changing into a dress" Mitch said.

"Jesus how long can it take to get dr-----" Five stopped himself when Lara walked into the living room, wearing a beautiful white dress.

Five stared at her, his eyes going wide as she walked farther into the room.

"Pick your jaw up off the floor, brother, and try not to made it that obviously" Diego whispered to Five and he cleared his throat.

"Let's go" Diego said before him, Lila, Mitch and Andy turned around, walking away.

"Like what you see?" Lara asked "Don't flatter yourself" Five said "Well, stop staring at me, so maybe I'll stop flattering myself" she said and he let out a scoff.

"So do I look okay" Lara asked "You look---That dress look---" Five said, not having the words to finished the sentence.

"I hope the ending to those sentences are good" she said "You look beautiful Lara" he said as he looked at her and she let out a small smile "Thank you" she said before she scanned him up and down.

"You couldn't choose a suit or something else than your uniform. We're going to a gala not your first school day" she said "Shut up" he said before he let out a small smile as he looked at her.

"Okay, stop staring at me like that. You know what happen last time you were looking at me like that" Lara said "Like you didn't wanted to. You enjoy it just as much as me" he said "Well, it was a drunk mistake" she said "Was it?" he asked as he walked closer to her "We weren't that drunk since we both remember it very clearly" he said "You came onto me" she said "Yeah, right. You were begging me to kiss you" he said "How was I begging?" she asked "With the look you were sending me" he said "I wasn't begging, beside you don't have the power over me" she said and was about to walk past him.

But then he grabbed her before he push her back against the wall, his face inches from hers, both of them could feel each other's breath.

The two looked at each other before Five crashed his lips against Lara who were quickly pull in.

Five wrapped his arms around her before he lifted her up on the desk, pressing her more against the wall as he was between her legs.

Lara could feel how their tongues fought for domination but she left him win.

His hands moved down to her thigh before he pulled away all of a suddenly.

"We better go before they suspect anything" Five said as he fix his tie "What was all that about?" Lara asked "Showing you who have the power here" he said before he turned around "You don't have the power over me" she said.

"This never happen" Five said "Then why did you just do it?" she asked "'Cause I needed it" he said "I'm not your damn sex slave or sex doll that you can kiss and use whenever you need it. And you don't have the control or power over me. So do something like that again and I will break your arm" Lara said "Don't say you didn't like it" he said with a scoff as he walked away "I hate him" Lara said before she jumped down from the desk and walked the same way Five have walk while she fix her hair.
