Luna Lovegood moved down the aisle of compartments on the trail, wearing a pair of red and blue cardboard glasses which were called Spectrespecs.

" Quibbler? Quibbler? " She offered as she held a stack of the latest issue of The Quibbler. Most students ignored her. Dean Thomas was currently whispering into Ginny's ear who smiled mildly at her purple Pygmy. It was perched on her shoulder, everyone adored it. Cortney decided to sit in a compartment with Ron, Hermione, and Harry.

" So what was Draco doing with that weird-looking cabinet? And who were all those people? " Harry asked. " Do you see ? It was a ceremony. An invitation". 

" Stop it, Harry, I know where you're going with this," Hermione warned.

" It happened. He's one of them," Harry went on.

" One of who? " Ron asked.

" Harry is under the impression that my cousin Draco Malfoy is now a Death Eater," Cortney replied.

" You're barking mad! Why would You-Know-Who want a sod like Malfoy? " Ron asked.

" Well, then what was he doing in Borgin and Burkes? Browsing for furniture? " Harry sassed.

" It's a creepy shop, he's a creepy bloke," Ron replied.

" Look, his father is Death Eater it all makes sense, Besides Hermione saw it with her own eyes," Harry said.

" I told you, I don't know what I saw," Hermione repeated. 

" I need some air," Harry grumbled, he stood up, grabbed his invisibility cloak, and left.

" If Cortney knew, you would tell us, right? " Ron asked.

" If I knew something and I told and they found out, I'm dead," Cortney admitted. " Draco told mum and Aunt Nacrissa I tell Pansy about everything. And we all know how Pansy can be. So I am out of the loop". Cortney feels bad for lying, but it was true about what would happen if she told.

" Oh, you should go now," Hermione said.

" Why? " Cortney asked feeling offended.

"It's nothing bad! " Hermione laughed. " Seamus and Neville, want you to go to their compartment. We promised we'll split our time".

" You scared me for a second Mione," Cortney said putting her hand over her heart. Cortney left, she strolled the aisle till she entered the compartment containing Dean and Seamus.

" Hey dweebs," Cortney greeted. " Where's Dean? "

" With Ginny," Neville answered. She took a seat next to Seamus, the door opened and Luna sat next to Neville.

" Hello Luna," Neville greeted,

" Hello," She greeted in her dreamy voice.

Now they were in the Great Hall, Draco just walked in. He took a seat next to Pansy.

" Why are you late? " Cortney asked as she sipped on pumpkin juice,

" I had a pest problem," Draco answered.

" Alright," Cortney said as she exchanged glances with Pansy. Cortney looked over her shoulder, she saw Luna and Harry coming in. Harry was bleeding from his nose.

" He's always bleeding, isn't he? " Daphne asked.

" I wonder what happened? " Tracey asked.

" Cortney go ask, your friends with him," Kierra ordered. Cortney rolled her eyes went over, asked, and came back.

" He said he broke his nose, somebody stomped on it," Cortney informed them. Dumbledore stood up to give a speech, everyone went silent.

" Good afternoon," Dumbledore greeted. " First, let me introduce the newest member of our staff. Horace Slughorn". Everyone clapped. " Professor Slughorn has agreed to resume his old post as Potions Master. Meanwhile the post-Defense Against Dark Arts will be taken by Professor Snape". Everyone looked at each other shocked as they began to whisper. Only a few people clapped.

" Why now? After all this time? " Millicent asked.

" Maybe the time is right," Pansy responded.

" Now, as you all you know, each of you was searched upon your arrival here tonight, and you have the right to know why. Once, there was a young man, like you sat in this very hall, walked these corridors, stepped under its roof. He seemed to all the world a student like any other. His name? Tom Riddle," Dumbledore began. Everyone gasped and started to pay attention a little more. " To say, of course, he is known to the world by another name. Which is why, as I stand looking upon all of you tonight, I'm reminded of a sobering thing, every day, every hour, this very minute perhaps, dark forces attempt to penetrate these castle walls. But in the end, their greatest weapon is you. Just something to think about. Now off to bed pip pip". Everyone got up to retreat to the common rooms.

" Well that was a cheery welcome speech," Cortney huffed.

" Super cheery," Kierra sassed as she rolled her eyes.

" I'm still stuck on Snape now being the Defense Against Dark Arts teacher," Tracey stated.

" He's been after the job for so long, and he finally gets it,' Daphne recalled.

" Maybe it's because Slughorn really wanted the potions position. And Snape is highly capable of teaching this class," Pansy ranted.

" True," Millicent spoke.

" Lestrange ! " a voice called. The group of girls turned and saw Seamus Finnigan standing about a good distance away, alone.

" Go to him," Millicent instructed.

" What? " Cortney asked surprised.

" Cortney, it's Seamus," Tracey pointed out.

" You two are bound to get together," Daphne said.

" What? " Cortney asked even more surprised.

" It is very obvious you two like each other. But won't admit it. Such dumb asses" explained Kierra.

" We are totally fine with it," Pansy confirmed. " You are over Teddy, and it is time to go mingle more". They all made hand movements for her to go forward. Cortney shook her head smiling. She then strutted her way up to Seamus. She looked back at the girls, to find them all giggling.

" Yes, Finnigan," Cortney said looking at him.

" You know...if Teddy starts giving you a hard time again," Seamus began. He started to fiddle with his thumbs. " You can always to the Gryffindor room".

" Thank you for the offer, I appreciate it," Cortney said smiling. Things were a bit awkward. They haven't really talked about Cortney kissing his cheek. " See you in the morning? "

" Yeah," Seamus said scratching his head." Of course". The two turned away from each other and retreated back to their friends.

" That was awkward to watch," blurted out Millicent as they head towards the common room.

" I know, " Cortney laughed.

" Why is it suddenly so awkward between you two? " Kierra asked.

" Well last year before the summer break. He said we can be friends again. And I go I knew you'd come around. He then gave a look," Cortney explained. She impersonated the look she was given by Seamus. All the girls laughed. " So I laughed, kissed him on the cheek, and walked away".

" Oh, Merlin Cortney! " Tracey exclaimed.

" You can't just kiss people's cheek like that and not talk about it," Daphne ranted as they entered the common room.

" The only cheek you should be kissing is mine," Theodore blurted out.

" In your dreams Nott," Cortney growled. 

" Come on Cortney baby! You will regret not getting back with me ! " he shouted.

" Buzz off," Cortney hissed. As the girls entered the dorm. They went to sleep for the night.
