Cortney was in the hallway when she ran into Mandy Brocklehurst and her gang of Ravenclaws.

" Ready for our duel? And to lose Teddy? " Mandy said with her arms crossed.

"Let's do it right now, " Cortney suggested. "Greenhouse in twenty minutes".

" Fine," Mandy said standing her ground. Cortney grabbed her Slytherin girls and met Mandy at the greenhouse with her Ravenclaw girls.

" I've been studying! " 

" I've been going over Herbology stuff," Cortney stated.

" Like you even remember the stuff! " Cho spat. She whipped out a giant card.

" The winner is based on this card," Lisa stated.

" Ready...set...go! " Daphne shouted. Cho revealed the card with a picture of a plant on it.

" What plant is this? " Morag asked.

" A Mimbulus Mimbletonia ! " Mandy shouted.

" Correct! " Padma cheered. The Slytherin girls looked at Cortney questionably.

" You have to your relationship with Theodore Nott now ! " squealed Mandy in delight, Cortney was about to be miserable in Mandy's opinion. The Slytherin girls looked at each other understanding why Cortney did not answer.

" Well Mandy, you can't end something that already ended," Cortney began.

" What ?" Mandy asked in disbelief, the smile on her face fell.

" Ya, I broke up with Teddy about a month or so ago," Cortney said. " You should keep up with the times". With that, Cortney walked out of the greenhouse with the pride she had and her friends.

" Now that's the Cortney we haven't seen in weeks! " Kierra squealed.

" I guess it takes a certain someone to light that fire," Millicent stated.

" That person being..." Daphne began.

" Broccoli! " Cortney and Pansy said together. All the girls broke into laughter.

" Are you staying with the Gryffindors tonight? " Tracey asked.

" Yes," Cortney answered. " The day of the third task we should do a little prep. Like paint our nails".

" Thank you ! I've been wanting to do nails for weeks," exasperated Kierra. 

" You could've said something," said Daphne. 

" No it's fine, Blaise has been letting me do it on his toes. Since no one ever really sees his feet," Kierra shrugged.

" What color have you painted them? " Tracey asked.

" Pink, green, red, purple, black, basic nail polish colors," Kierra listed.

" Fancy," said Millicent.

Later that night Cortney was in the Gryffindor common room, she was sitting at a table talking with Harry.

" So since my cousin is your godson, what does that make me and you? " Cortney asked.

" Your my godfather's cousin, that's all," Harry shrugged.

" Thanks," Cortney said. " Have you spoken to him? "

" Through letters," Harry answered.

" Same here," Cortney sighed. She got up and made her way over to Ginny.

" Hey Gin," Cortney greeted.

" Cort," Ginny greeted. " Neville wanted to know, you're not taking Herbology next year, are you? "

" I'm getting much better at it, so I thought about continuing, " Cortney answered.

" He's not going to like that answer," Ginny pointed out.

" I'll do it without his help. He will only help me if I really need it," Cortney confirmed.

" I think he'll live with that," Ginny laughed.

Cortney was now in Slytherin's common room she was working on homework. It was a few hours before the last task, she wanted to have her homework out of the way. Somebody sat in front of her. She looked up and saw Theodore.

" Hey," Theodore said, trying to look her in the eyes. Cortney nodded her head, acknowledging his presence.

" Please talk to me," he pleaded.

" What is there to talk about? " Cortney asked looking up.

" Us, I know I messed up," Theodore began. " Just give me another chance".

" No," Cortney answered.

" What do you mean no ? " Theodore asked raising his voice.

" No simply means no," Cortney broke down the explanation. 

" You don't know what you are missing out on," Theodore said standing up.

" We dated for almost two years, I know what I'm getting away from and what's best for me," Cortney said.

" You don't know what's best for yourself Cort," Theodore said getting frustrated. " Your friends with half-bloods and mudbloods".

" Don't talk about my friends like that! " Cortney exclaimed she stood up frustrated. People looked over at the two.

" Just take me back! " Theodore shouted. 

" I will not take you back! " Cortney confirmed in a shout. SMACK! Theodore's hand went across her face. Cortney held her cheek and looked at him completely shocked.

" You do not hit a girl ! " shouted Montague Knightly. He got up and stormed over to the two exes. He shoved Theodore against the wall. " Say you're sorry".

" Never," Theodore growled pushing Montague off of him. " She is just some stupid girl".

" Really? " Montague asked in disbelief. " You were just begging her to take you back a couple of minutes ago," Montague growled.  Cortney left the common room not wanting to witness a fight and get away from Theodore. She ended up in the Astronomy Tower. Cortney sat dangling her legs over the edge. Tears flowed down her cheeks. A body sat next to her, she didn't bother to look at the person, she knew who it was.

" Cortney, is this still about Nott? " Seamus asked. Cortney nodded as she stared at the ground.

" Don't," Seamus said. " Pick your head up princess, your crown is falling". Cortney looked at him gave him a weak smile. " Your cheek is red".

" Theodore came up to me when I was studying. He wanted to talk, he said that should take him back. I don't know what I am doing and I'm missing out on things," Cortney explained.

" Please tell-" Seamus began.

" I'm not taking back! " Cortney said sounding offended. " Anyways we shouted at each other for a bit, he got pretty mad till the point his hand made contact with my cheek".

" HE HIT YOU! " Seamus roared standing up. Cortney quickly pulled him back down.

" Montague is handling it," Cortney assured him.  She saw some things in his hands. " What's that you got with you? "

" A Gryffindor t-shirt and face paint," Seamus answered. Cortney looked at Seamus and saw that his face was painted and he was wearing his Gryffindor shirt. ' Potter' was written across his forehead in red. Before she could say anything, the t-shirt was shoved over her head. She put her arms through the armholes. She stood up so she can adjust the shirt. It went down to her mid-thigh.

" It's a bit big," Cortney said looking up.

" Well, I do have a bigger shirt size than you," Seamus laughed. He opened the face paint and looked at Cortney. " Tear stain faces won't make the face paint look better". He grabbed her wrist and dragged her down to the Slytherin common room. Cortney slipped into her dorm, put basic makeup items in a bag, and slip out. She successfully went unnoticed. Seamus dragged her up to his dorm. 

" Let me do your makeup! " Seamus said excitingly. Cortney looked at him frightened.

" Don't take my eye out," Cortney said as she handed him a palette.

" What's this for again? " He asked.

" Eye shadow," Cortney answered. 

"Looks like the red and yellow hasn't been touched, I'm going to use it," Seamus said as he put a clean brush in it. He gently spread yellow on one side and red on the other.

" Are you going to make me look like a Gryffindor explosion? " Cortney asked.

" What else would I do? You are supporting Harry, I guess Cedric too. But mostly Harry," he explained. He then put the mascara on her eyelashes. " The black eyelash things can be for Hufflepuff, and the yellow can be used for both houses".

" It's called mascara," Cortney laughed. He then opened the face paint again. He painted on her forehead and put a yellow and red handprint on her cheek. He was really close to her face and concentrated.  He then handed her a mirror. 

" What do you think? " Seamus asked.

" Pretty good," Cortney gasped. "You're really good at make-up for a guy".

" Mum sometimes has me do hers, Lavender had me do it once, for like a boyfriend does my makeup thing," Seamus explained. " I'm glad that I'll probably no longer do Lavender's makeup".

" The work paid off," Cortney stated. " It's just missing one thing".

" What? " Seamus asked. Cortney reached into her bag and pulled out lipstick. She took off the cap, and twisted the thing, she put on bold red lipstick. " Perfect".

" You really love red lipstick," Seamus said looking at her oddly.

" Ya, my Aunt Nacrissa does too. She says it makes her look bold. It shows power, make a statement," Cortney explained. Seamus took her lipstick and put it on his lips.

" Am I making a statement? " He asked.

" Totally," Cortney laughed.

Down at the stand for the third task. Cortney stood between Seamus and Pansy. It was quite dark out, the band was blaring their music joyfully. The third task was a giant maze. Banners were made by a lot of people.

" Silence! " Dumbledore bellowed. " Professor Moody placed the cup deep within the maze. Only he knows of the exact position. Now as for Mr. Diggory-" He was cut off by Cedric's fans cheering for him. " And Mr. Potter-" Again he was cut off, but by Harry's fans cheering for him. " Tied for first position they will be the first to enter the maze. Followed by Mr. Krum-" Viktor's fans cheered for him. " And Ms. Delacour-" Fleur's fans cheered for her. " First person to touch the cup will be the winner! " Everyone cheered. " I've instructed the staff to patrol the perimeter, for at any point a contestant wishes to with drawl from the task, he or she needs only to send sparks with their wand," Dumbledore instructed. " Contestants ! Gather around ! Quickly ". All the contestants gathered around Dumbledore. " In the maze, you'll find no dragons or creatures of the deep. Inside there's something even more challenging. People change in the maze. Find the Goblet if you can, but be very careful. You could lose yourselves along the way. Come on kids! Prepare yourselves! " The champions got into position. " On the count of three. One-" the cannon went off, Dumbledore looked annoyed at Filch. All the contestants slowly entered the maze. the hedges closed so no one would see what happens. Everyone chatted as they screams. Sparks went into the air and Fleur came out looking frightened. Soon Krum came out looking dazed. They waited for about an hour till Harry came back with Cedric, he was on top of Cedric.  Cortney saw that Harry was in tears as everyone cheered. They came up back with the Goblet after all.

" Pansy, somethings wrong," Cortney said to Pansy.

" What? " Pansy asked. At that moment Fleur let out a scream with her hands over her mouth. She started to sob. Cortney brought her hand up to her mouth. Dumbledore ran towards Harry as the music died down.

" Harry! " Dumbledore shouted as he tried to pull him off.

" No ! " He cried as he resisted.

" Dumbledore what happened? " The Minister asked.

" He's back! " Harry said between sobs. " He's back! Voldemort is back! " Everyone looked at each other frightened. " Cedric-he asked me to bring his body back! I couldn't leave him there! Not there! " Harry sobbed. Down in front of was Cho and she was sobbing uncontrollably. 

"It's alright Harry. It's alright. He's home. You all are," Dumbledore said in a comforting voice.

" Keep everyone in their seats! the Minister shouted. " A boy just been killed". Everyone gasped realizing what just happened. Cortney and Pansy both began to sob. Everyone was crying. " The body must be moved Dumbledore there are too many people! "

" Let me through! Let me through! " Mr. Diggory shouted. He collapsed next to his son's body. " That's my son! That's my boy! The man wailed. The audience watched in horror as the scene played out. Moody walked over to Harry and picked him up, he dragged Harry out.  Cortney collapsed into her seat crying along with many other people. A handed landed on her shoulder. She looked up and saw Seamus. He just pulled her into his chest and wrapped his arms around her. People down in front were pulling Cho into an embrace. She needed it big time, her boyfriend just died.
