The next morning was the second task. Cortney was going to go down with her Slytherin girls.

" You sure you want to go? " Kierra asked. " Teddy will probably be there".

" Ya, I'm going, I can't let him see all the damage he's done," Cortney said. " I need to be strong and stand tall". She shoved a Gryffindor hat on her head.

" That's right! " Pansy squealed. " My best friend doesn't let anything take her so low! Her determination is strong! " Pansy wrapped her arms around Cortney.

" You should know though," Cortney started. " Pansy will always be my number one," Cortney said.

" You two are basically married," Daphne pointed out as she put a Slytherin scarf around her head. All the girls laughed.

" Tracey,  who are you rooting for? " Millicent asked as she pet her cat.

"Diggory of course, he is so hot," Tracey said in a dreamy voice.

" You always go for who's the hottest," Daphne pointed.

" Is that so wrong? I mean I won't do it when I get married. But for now" Tracey made a sexy purring sound. The girls left the dorm and made their way down to the dock. they managed to squeeze on one boat.

"  What's to look for in a man? " Millicent asked.

" Well, dad always said to look for ones that would help you with you even asking. Look how they treat their mothers, " Tracey said.

" What do you mean by that? " Pansy asked.

" Well, the way he treats his mother, will be how he treats you one day," Tracey said.

" What about the other thing? " Kierra asked. " Give an example".

"Let's say you drop your book in the water, and he jumps in and gets it for you, with you out having to ask or anything," Tracey explained.

" That's good advice," Pansy said.

" Agreed," Cortney nodded as she thought back to Seamus. When they got off the boats, they went and found their spot.

" Welcome to the second task! " Dumbledore announced. " Now, something was stolen from each of our Champions. A treasure of sorts. These four treasures, one for each Champion now lie on the bottom of the Black Lake. In order to win each Champion needs to find only their treasures and return to the surface".

" Put that thing in your mouth," Moody whispered to Harry. He did what he was told and put Gillyweed in his mouth. He began to choke on the plant.

" Simply enough. Except they will only have one hour to do so and one hour only. After that, they will be on their own. No magic will save them. You may begin at the sound of the cannon! " Dumbledore announced. The cannon went off, they all looked at Filch. All the champions besides Harry dove in. Moody pushed in a struggling to breathe Harry. He was underwater for a bit.

" What's the matter with him? " Seamus asked Dean.

" I don't know I can't see him," answered Dean. Neville turned around with his hands in his hair.

" Oh my god, I killed Harry Potter," panicked Neville. All of a sudden Harry shot out of the water doing a backflip.

" YAY! " He shouted before diving back in. Everyone was laughing as Neville turned around completely dumbfounded. He slowly sat down by Seamus and Dean.

" I give the dive a 4," Cortney said as she pretend to sip on tea.

" I say a 3 2/2," Pansy stated. The two girls playfully glared at each other. About an hour later Fleur came up with nothing. Cedric came up with Cho. Soon after Viktor came up with Hermione. Cortney shot up and when to go greet Hermione when Seamus stopped her halfway. He pulled her down by the shirt and made her sit.

" Cortney," Seamus began.

" But it's Hermione," Cortney cried.

" You'll see him soon," Seamus said. " For now stay here". Towels were getting wrapped around all the people that were in the water. Ron and Fleur's little sister Gabby came up, but no Harry.

" Seamus," Cortney said softly.

" He'll come up," Seamus assured her. All of a sudden Harry shot out of the water and flew onto the wooden dock. 

" Harry! " Hermione cried as she wrapped towels around him.

" Hermione," Harry shivered. Fleur came up to Harry and Ron with her little sister.

" You saved her even though she wasn't yours to save. My little sister! Thank you ! " she breathed, she kissed both of his cheeks. Harry's cheeks turned pink. Fleur then turned to Ron. " And you helped! "

" Well a bit," Ron shrugged. Fleur laughed, she kissed both of his cheeks, before walking away with her sister. Like Harry's, the cheeks were pink.

" You must be freezing! " Hermione said wrapping her towel around Harry. " You did so well! "

" I finished last Hermione," Harry reminded.

" Next to last! Fleur couldn't get past the Grindylows! " Hermione stated. 

" Attention please ! " Dumbledore bellowed. " the winner is....Mr.Diggory! " People clapped. " Mr. Potter would've finished first if it had not been his determination to rescue, not only Mr. Weasley but the others as well. We've agreed to award him second place! " Everyone cheered and clapped for him. When they got back to school the people in the water started to dry. Cortney was now back with her girls.

" That water must have been freezing," Kierra said.

"Well it is winter still," Millicent pointed out.

" True," Kierra sighed. Instead of going back to the  Slytherin common room, Cortney decided to stay with the Gryffindors again and party. She drank and talking others most of the time.  Late that night she was sitting on the couch all alone. Someone dipped the end by her. She looked and saw Seamus.

"It's odd not being with Teddy," Cortney stated. " I am glad the relationship is over".

" That's good," stated Seamus. Cortney got up and whipped out a bunch of letters. " What are those ?"

" Letters from Teddy. I want to burn them," Cortney answered.

" Live your life," Seamus encourages. Cortney threw them into the fire. She walked back and snuggled up to Seamus.

" Thank you for being my friend," Cortney breathed. She fell asleep as Seamus played with her long messy black hair.
