They left the hospital wing the next day, Cortney went to the Great Hall with Ron and Hermione while Harry went to go visit Professor Lupin. Cortney started over to her table when she was stopped by Seamus.

" Hey Seamus," Cortney said.

" Is there something you want to tell me? " He asked crossing his arms and raising his eyebrows. " You keep a lot of secrets, especially a recent one for a week or so".

" Later," Cortney said. He just gave her a look. " Please! " She stepped around him and went to her table. She sat down next to Teddy, she leaned her head on him.

" Hey babe," Teddy said

" Hey," she said sitting up as Pansy sat next to her. Pansy looked at her.

" Why do you have cuts all over your face? " Pansy asked.

" I fell," Cortney lied.

" So clumsy," Daphne said smiling at her.

" Hey look, Brocklehurst," Tracey pointed out.

" Broccoli," Pansy and Cortney said. Mandy walked till she was standing if front of Cortney.

" Hello Lestrange," Mandy said.

" Brocklehurst," Cortney said.

" I want to another challenge with you, next year," Mandy said.

" And what is that? " Cortney asked with a smile on her face

" I challenge you to another duel, but with potion-making," Mandy said. " If you lose you have to say goodbye to your boyfriend".

" Why do you want to destroy my relationship? " Cortney asked. " What are trying to get out of it? "

" Your unhappiness," Mandy said glaring at her. Cortney got up facing Mandy.

" Listen to her Mandy Brocklehurst, when I end my relationship is when I end my relationship. You do not get to decide," Cortney said pushing Mandy back a little. All of a sudden they saw everyone running outside. Cortney followed to see Harry on a broomstick. A Firebolt! The latest style. Harry mounted the broom and took off.

" Woah! " he screamed. The broom was way faster than his old one. People cheered and clapped as he nearly touched the sky. A few days later Cortney was walking alone in the hallway. Soon she was surrounded by third-year Ravenclaw girls. They were Padma Patil, Morag MacDougal, Lisa Turpin, Su Li, and Mandy Brocklehurst.

" Can I help you ?" Cortney questioned.

" So that challenge? " Morag stated.

" Do it, if not you are a chicken," Lisa added.

" Okay, if I win what do you lose? Or what? " Cortney said putting her hand on her wand.

" I would have to do something embarrassing again," Mandy said.

" No," Cortney said. " You'll do something embarrassing and never threaten my relationship again". Mandy stuck her hand out.

" Deal on three," Mandy said. " One...two...let make it a Herbology thing instead Deal! "

" Deal! " Cortney said in horror.

" You are not going to win this one, might as well say goodbye to Teddy," Su laughed.

" Watch me not," growled Cortney.

" You can't get help on it either, before this event" Padma.

" Ah," Cortney huffed. " But did we shake hands on that? " The girls stared at her blankly. " No, so I will get help before this even". With that, Cortney walked away. 

" This will take place in the middle of January! " Mandy shouted. 

" Okay! " Cortney shouted before they were out of her sight.

Now Cortney was at the lake with Seamus, feet in the water.

" So do you wanna tell me what was in that letter? " Seamus said.

" Ya," Cortney said.

" What was it? " Seamus asked crossing his arms.

" A letter from my parents," Cortney said.

" Don't you always get letters from your parents? " Seamus asked confused.

"Not those parents," Cortney said. Seamus' mouth formed an 'o' shape.

" How did that go ? "

" It was nice to hear from them once, like the first time in forever," Cortney said smiling. " Ready for summer break? "

" Ya, you? "

" Ya, I am spending all summer with the Mafloy's this year," Cortney said.

" Is that a good thing? " Seamus asked.

" I do not know, they kind of took claim over me I feel like, I do not understand why after 13/14 years though," huffed Cortney.

" Probably trying to get you to be more like them and forgive them for it," Seamus said.

" Yeah," Cortney said smiling at him. He returned the smile right back.

Cortney was no was sitting in the common for the last time before leaving for summer vacation. She was sitting on Teddy's lap. he was playing with her hair.

" I really like you, Cortney," Teddy said.

" I really like you to Teddy," Cortney said looking at him. She kissed his lips, they made out for a minute before returning to their positions.

" I know we are young, but have you ever thought about getting friskier? " Teddy asked.

"Kind of, but like you said we are young," Cortney answered.

" Would you like to? " Teddy asked. Cortney turned and looked at him.

" Maybe over the summer, when know of my family is home," Cortney suggested.

" Maybe," Teddy said looking her in the eyes. " You are so beautiful". He kissed her forehead, Cortney closed her eyes and smiled.

Exams were alright, she passed all of them, barely passed Herbology and Astronomy, she talked to all her friends and now sat in a compartment with her Slytherin girls.

" Do you think, your Aunt and Uncle would allow you to come over to my house for a party or to hang out? " Pansy asked.

" Of course," Cortney laughed. 

"Let's have a party this summer! " Tracey squealed.

" Where at? " Kierra asked.

" My house, of course, we can have the guys over of course, " Pansy said.

" Pansy are you sure your dad will allow the boys to even step foot on your driveway? " Millicent asked.

" No," Pansy said rolling her eyes.

" How about we have it Cortney's then? " Daphne asked. " I mean like you can invite us, and Draco can conveniently invite the guys".

" Genius! " Kierra shouted. Cortney was excited to be spending a lot of time with her biological family. But she missed her other family so much. Well, it has been quite the year for and she can not wait for the fourth year! More adventures for her. And a relationship to defend. Until next time.
