It was now Halloween, most of the school that was old enough was going to Hogsmeade, except Harry Potter.

" Now these visits to Hogsmeade are a privileged. Shall not be extended again," said McGonagall. Harry walked up to her. " No permission form signed. No visiting the village that's the rule Potter".

" Those with signed forms follow me, those without stay put," Filch said. Cortney walked away with the group of students leaving Harry behind, she felt bad. She was currently with her group of Slytherin girls.

" I've heard that they got a joke shop," said Kierra.

"There's a tea shop there," Tracey said with high hopes of going there.

" From what I heard, that place is mainly for dates," Millicent groaned, she stuck her tongue out in disgust.

" I bet Cortney and Pansy would love that," Daphne teased.

" In my opinion, it's about time my cousin asked my best friend out," Cortney said smiling.

" It took him ages too," Daphne added, as they entered the village. They all looked around.

" This is a cute little village," Cortney said as she looked up and down buildings.

" Adorable," Tracey gushed. Daphne stuck out her arm making them all stop. She then pointed at a building making them all look.

" Honeydukes Sweetshop," Kierra read, at what Daphne was pointing at.

" Let's go in," Pansy suggested. All six girls stepped inside the shop and took a look around.

" Acid pops," Cortney read. 

" They can burn holes in your tongue," Kierra informed.

" This will be a delightful thing to put in Lavender Brown's food," Cortney said making the girls laugh.

" Pepper imps, those can make you breathe fire," Millicent informed.

" Wicked," Pansy breathed. The girls spent a good half hour in the shop. In the end, Cortney got: a couple of Fizzing Whizzbees, Acid Pops, and saltwater taffy. Three girls now sat in the Threebroom sticks, most of the class was there. They sat at a table drinking butterbeer. Cortney looked up and saw Lavender Brown glaring at her. All the girls followed her gaze.

" So you don't think Lavender Brown, will notice the Acid Pop in her food? " Kierra asked as they took their gaze off the Gryffindor.

" Defiantly not, that girl will be too busy staring Finnigan's butt," Cortney besides. " Besides, she isn't the brightest tool in the shed. Perhaps I crush it up and put bits and pieces in her food".

" You sure she won't notice? " Tracey asked.

" Positive," Pansy said. " Once I snuck a bicorn into forgetfulness potion".

" Which I helped you sneak from the supply closet," added Cortney. The two girls smiled at each either viciously.

" I thought you and Brown were friends," Daphne mentioned.

" Keyword: were," Cortney said.

" What happened? " Millicent asked.

" Last year, she accused me of being the Heir of Slytherin, so she tried to cast a Full-Bonding curse, what she didn't know was that I was able to block it, and send it back to her. This Acid pop will teach her to hold her tongue," Cortney explained.

" Damnn girl, you powerful and mischievous," Millicent said dramatically. " Yet, you get scared of the giant squid". Cortney put her hands up in defense, making the girls laugh.

" The giant squid is scaring," Cortney said in defense. " Besides, I'm just trying to make my momma proud".

" You are doing a good job at it," a boy said from behind.  He wrapped his arms around Cortney.

" Hi Teddy," the girls greeted giggling.

" Hello girls," Teddy greeted. " Can I steal her? "

" Go for it," Pansy said, granting permission. Cortney waved goodbye to the girls and walked away from them.

" I got you something," Teddy said as they stepped outside.

" I got you something too," Cortney said.

" One," Teddy began.

" Two," continued Cortney.

" Three," they said together. They pulled out their items.  Teddy got Cortney a beanie and Cortney got Teddy a scarf.

Cortney was running around with De'lexi, Joey, and Milan. They were out by the forest more. They were in animal forms, just having a bit of fun. They started to head up to the shrieking shack unknowingly. A growling came from the shack. The four animals cautiously looked towards the place. Cortney ( as the fox ) got down, she crept up to the house. She looked in and saw a big black dog, growling and showing its teeth. The coyote ( Milan) crept up to the fox, a lemur ( De'lexi) was on top of it. A bunny ( Joey ) got in between the fox's legs.

" Cortney let's go," Milan said to her.  She didn't listen, she stared at the dog's eyes, something about them seems familiar.

" Cortney Lestrange, let's go," the lemur said. The fox looked towards the lemur. The dog stopped growling when it heard the name. 

" Okay, only because I haven't checked out the joke shop yet," Cortney said. The four ran back towards the gate and changed into their human forms. From the distance, Cortney saw the dog watching them.

A couple of hours later, everyone was back at Hogwarts, Cortney was currently walking with the Golden Trio.

" Honeydukes, sweet shop is brilliant. But nothing like Zonko's joke shop. We didn't get the chance to go to the Shrieking Shack, the most haunted building in Britain," Ron said. They stopped, there was a large crowd in front of the Gryffindor entrance.

" What's going on ?" asked Harry.

" Neville probably forgot the password again," Ron said.

" Hey! " Neville said in defense.

" Hello Neville," Cortney greeted.

" Excuse me! Let me through I'm Head boy ! " shouted Percy Weasly. " Get back all of you. No one is to enter this dormitory until it is fully searched ".

" The Fat Lady is gone! " Ginny shouted as she ran up to them.

" Serves her right, she was a terrible singer," Ron said.

" Move! Move! " Dumbledore shouted from a distance. He made his way through the crowd. Everyone saw that the portrait was torn up, and the Fat Lady was gone. " Mr. Filch, round up the ghosts. Tell them to search every painting in the castle for the Fat Lady".

" There's no need Professor. The Fat Lady is there, " Filch said pointing at a painting. Chaos was going on in the paintings. Everyone ran over to the painting the Fat Lady. She was hiding behind a rock/animal, she looked very distraught.

" Who did this to you? " Dumbledore asked.

" He's like the devil! And his souls as dark as his name! It's him, Headmaster! The one they all talk about! He's here, somewhere in the castle. Sirius Black ! " the Fat Lady cried.

" Secure the castle Mr. Filch. The rest of you to the Great Hall! " Dumbledore instructed.

That night they all had to sleep in the Great Hall. Cortney laid between Pansy and her cousin. Everyone around her was fast asleep. Cortney laid on her back, eyes wide open. She was by the wall. She looked and saw Dumbledore, Flitwick, Filch, and Snape walking up and down the parting of students, in the middle of the hall.

" I've searched the Astronomy Tower and Owlery. There's nothing there," said Filch.

" Third floor is clear," Flitwick said.

" Very well," said Dumbledore.

" I've searched the dungeons Headmaster no signs of Black, nor anywhere in the castle," said Snape.

" I really didn't expect him to be able to get inside the castle," sighed Dumbledore. 

" It's remarkable, don't you think? To enter Hogwarts castle completely undetected," asked Snape.

" Quite remarkable," Dumbledore agreed.

" Any theories of how he might have managed ? " asked Snape.

" Many. Each as unlikely as the next" answered Dumbledore.

" You may recall prior to the start of term I did express my concerns about your appointment with Professor Lupin," Snape said.

" Not single professor in this castle would help Sirius Black enter," Dumbledore said. " I'm convinced the castle is safe and I'm more willing to send the students back to their houses".

" Should Potter be warned? " Snape questioned.

" Perhaps, but let him sleep. For in dreams we enter a world that is entirely our own. Let them swim the deepest ocean, or fly above the highest cloud," said Dumbledore. They soon all left. Cortney now was staring at the ceiling that was bewitched to look like the night sky. Cortney couldn't fall asleep, her mind kept going back to the dog at the Shrieking Shack.
