Neville walked outside with the remains of the staff, students, and members of the Ministry and Order into the courtyard. He was stumbling and limping. A Death Eater hit him with a spell. His leg was badly injured in his leg. He had many cuts and bruises on his body and face. One large cut on his forehead made the blood run down the side of his face. He saw the Sorting Hat under a bunch of rubble, he picked it up and dusted it off. The hat was dirty and ripped. Everyone gasped, he looked up to see Death Eaters coming their way. With their leader Voldemort. Hagrid was carrying a body in arms, one with jet black hair, and glasses, also motionless.

" Who's that Hagrid's carrying?  Neville, who is it? " Ginny asked. Cortney by Hermione and Ron, behind Neville and Ginny.

" Harry Potter is dead! " Voldemort shouted with achievement.

" No ! " Ginny screamed as she began to run forward, but Mr,. Weasley held her back. 

" Silence! " Voldemort shouted. " Stupid girl! Harry Potter...is dead. And now it's time to declare yourself...come forward and join us or die! " No one moved.

" Last chance Cortney," her dad urged her. Everyone turned and looked at her.

" No," Cortney simply answered.

" Draco! " Mr. Malfoy said. Everyone turned and looked at him now. He stood there staring blankly at his enemy's dead body. " Draco".

" Draco...come," His mom said holding out her hand. Draco walked over

" Well done Draco," Voldemort said giving him an awkward hug. " Well done".  Draco went and joined his family grabbing his mother's hand. Neville limped five feet forward and stopped.

" Neville," Cortney whispered.

" Who would have thought that You and I would become best friends," Neville whispered as he looked back at her and then forward again. People gasped, but he ignored them. All the Death Eaters

" Well, I must say I hoped for better," Voldemort commented, his followers all laughed. " And who might you be, young man? "

" Neville Longbottom," Neville answered. All the Death Eaters laughed, Bellatrix the loudest.

" Well, Neville I'm sure we can find a place for you in our rank," Voldemort said.

" I'd like to say something," Neville said finally looking up. Voldemort lifted his arms and turned his wrist a few times before putting them back down.

" Well, Neville I'm sure we'll all be fascinated by what you have to say," Voldemort answered swiftly. Neville took one last look at Harry.

" It doesn't matter that Harry's gone," Neville began.

" Stand down Neville! " Seamus shouted. Cortney made her way over to Seamus.

" People die every day! " Neville snapped looking at Seamus. He looked back at everyone behind him as he talked. Cortney was now standing next to Seamus. " Friends. Family. Yeah, we lost Harry tonight. But he's still with us. In here". Neville pointed at his heart. " So is Fred, Remus, Tonks, all of them. They didn't die in vain". He looked back at the other side who was just laughing. " But you will ! Cause you're wrong ! Harry's heart did beat for us ! For all of us ! It's not over ! " He shouted pulling the sword of Gryffindor out of the hat. All of a sudden Harry rolled out of Hagrid's arms, everyone gasped. People turned to each other smiling. Voldemort stared murderously at Harry.

" Confringo! " Harry shouted. The spell hit the snake, but it didn't leave a mark. Death Eater's behind the snake fell over. More spells were being thrown across the courtyard. Multiple Death Eaters apparated as Bellatrix screamed at them. Cortney ran over to the Hogwarts entrance with a lot of people, meeting up with Hermione, Ron, and Harry.

" Get everyone into the castle! " Harry shouted. " We have to kill the snake! " Neville began running towards the snake with the sword in his hand. A spell hit him sending him backward. Everyone was shooting spells as Harry ran off. Hermione gave Harry the Basilisk Fang before running off. There was pop signaling Voldemort and the snake was there. Harry shot a spell, which was blocked.

Cortney was fighting alone, Seamus was nowhere in sight. IF he was, she couldn't take the time to glance around.  She was fighting three Death Eaters.

" Someone's being disobedient ! " her mother sang wickedly. She then shot a spell at Ginny who blocked it. Mrs. Weasley angrily pushed Ginny aside and pointed her wand and Bellatrix.

" Not my daughter you bitch! " Mrs. Weasley snapped. Bellatrix laughed. The two began shooting spells at each other. Mrs. Weasley hit Bellatrix with multiple spells, with one final spell Bellatrix fell over dead. Her eyes landed on Cortney. 

" Cortney," Ginny breathed. Cortney held up her hand. She walked over to her mom and closed her eyes. Voldemort cried out when Bellatrix was killed. He and Harry shot a spell at each other, they collided and hit the ceiling. Pieces of the ceiling fell separating Voldemort and Harry. He laid on the floor listening as the snake got closer. He stood up just to have a spell barely miss his head. The Basilisk Fang laid a few feet away, Voldemort quickly destroyed the weapon. Harry went up the Astronomy Tower as Ron and Hermione shot spells at the snake. Cortney was fighting three death eaters. Voldemort sent a spell destroying the staircase, causing it to collapse bringing Harry with it. Black smoke wrapped around Harry's neck and pulled him up, choking him. Voldemort kicked him in the face.

" You were right! " Harry choked as Voldemort punched him in the mouth. The snake was getting closer, Ron and Hermione tried to outrun it.  Cortney had managed to get rid of one of the Death Eaters, but the other two were closing in on her. " When you told Professor Snape it was failing you. It will always fail you". Harry stood up, Voldemort sent another, but Harry dodged it.  Now standing on the ledge of the damaged Astronomy Tower.

" I killed Snape," Voldemort said in a weak voice.

" What if the wand never belonged to Snape? " Harry choked out, " What if its allegiance is to someone else ?  Come on Tom. Let finish this the way we started. Together". Harry wrapped his arms around Voldemort's neck and they tumbled out of the Astronomy Tower. Voldemort's screams filled the air as he scratched Harry's face. They went crashing into a Tower, around the courtyard till they hit the ground. They are several feet from each other. At that moment Neville opened his eyes as a body fell past him. He looked to the floor to find the sword of Gryffindor. Hermione and Ron were still trying to get away, they ended up getting concerned. Two spells were shot at Cortney at once, dropped to the ground ducking them. One of the spells hit her wand, making it fly out of her hand. Harry felt the cold ground beneath him, he looked up to see his wand and Voldemort's wand on the ground. The two crawled and groaned to their wands. They grabbed them, with all the strength they had, stood up, and shot a spell at each other. The spells collided. Ron held Hermione close to her in a corner just as the snake pounced on them.  Cortney closed her eyes and covered her ears as another spell was shot at her. At the moment Seamus got in front of her and put up protection, the spells bounced back hit the two Death Eaters.  The snake was about to get Ron and Hermione.

" AHHH ! " came from Neville Longbottom as he swung the sword through the snake. Everyone looked at Neville, he killed the snake, hissing sounds filled the air. Cortney under-covered her ears and opened her eyes to look. Voldemort was now mortal once again. He looked much weaker. Harry and Voldemort shot spells at each other, once again they collided. The spell overpowered Voldemort, the elder wand flew into the air, Harry jumped to catch it. They watched Voldemort beginning to crumble away. Groaning sounds came from him as his skin floated through the air. A gust of wind came by and blew it all away. Voldemort was now dead. Harry turned to look at every one. From Ron holding Hermione, Neville holding the sword, and Seamus standing in front of Cortney who was on the ground. Everyone looked at each other. Seamus turned to look at Cortney, she looked up at him. He held out his hand, she grabbed it and pulled him down. They engulfed each other in a hug. The war is over.
