Bright green eyes dart around, peeping out of their hiding spot. Jade backed up slowly keeping her eyes trained forward, searching for any sign of her attackers.

You are jade, and you need to get home and fast.

You were out looking for some things your grandfather needed but had stumbled into some shark territory and we're now under pursuit. You in fact were so scared you had completely forgotten both, your grandfathers words of warning about boats and humans, and your carefully memorized map of were the humans tended to stay.

As your tail propelled you forward you took a moment to look back, slowing down just enough to get caught in an old net someone had left. Panic swept over once more as you struggled to get to the surface. Being half human as all merfolk are you still need to come up for air, just less often. But by now your lungs were burning, your fingers peek out of the water and you try and push the water down to get a little higher but there seemed to be weights on the net. Your tail was bent and you couldn't move it the net was so tight and the more you thrashed the worse it got.

You get your face out of the water for a second, barely able to get a gasp of air before you were thrust back into the water. You tried once more to get above water. You reach down a bit to try and free yourself but end up getting your arm trapped. Frantically you wave your free arm about, you don't know what this will help but you have to try, you have to do anything. You look around frantically, noticing the blood flowing around you. It would make you that much easier for the Sharks to find you. It would end your life that much faster.

You're vision started to blur and you think of your grandfather and your friends, you would miss them, would they miss you? It's harder to even keep your eyes open anymore and you decide to give up and let yourself sink a bit more. You think you saw someone swimming to save you, really just a blur of red. You smile a bit knowing it was all an allusion and everything goes black. You go limp and let the water take you.
