Chapter 8

Chanyeol's POV

Even if we had won the war I still trained the warriors to keep them fit and strong.

I have to keep the nation strong because I don't want our enemies to think they actually have a chance.

Some people say im too strick and hard on others but that's just who I am now.

You can't expect me to be soft when I lost the only person who could bring softness to my hard heart.

I closed my eyes thinking about my beloved. I thought about his purple eyes that always got me mesmerized.

He was just a baby but from the day I got caught up in his eyes he had me in the palm of his hands.

I would do anything for home. If he had asked me to bring him the sun I would have done just that. No matter how impossible I would have done it for him.

He would have been turning 18 this year. It would have been the year he shifted into his wolf for the first time since omegas were late bloomers.

I would have finally been able to mark and claim him as mine.

That was the plan before the vampires decided to take away my happiness.

Even until today I'm still hunting down the vampire prince who was responsible for the death of my beloved.

I took a deep breath before looking at the new recruit warriors before me. They were struggling to stand up straight and panting like they were from running a marathon.

"Get down and give me 100 pushups" I said and they groaned which just annoyed me even more.

Were they soldiers or children.

"You should be thankful i didn't give you a thousand. Now get down and give me 200 and if i hear any complaints the number will keep going up" I said before they all started the pushups with no groans or complaints.

"Don't be so hard on them" Sehun my younger brother said as he watched from the sidelines with our middle brother Kai.

"Do you two even know how to do a pushup?" I asked in annoyance. They always had some comments about how I trained my warriors.

"Brother not all of us are built for war. I'm a lover not a fighter" Kai said with a smile.

"It explains a lot. Now I understand why Kyungsoo is always kicking your ass. At first I thought you didnt fight back because he was your mate but now I know you literally don't know how to fight" I said and Sehun was laughing like a maniac while Kai was pouting.

"But brother...I understand you need to make them strong but arent you a bit too harsh on them. This was just their first day" Yoora our youngest and only sister popped up from behind my brothers.

Kai was 60, Sehun was 55 and Yoora was actually 15. She came when no one expected and we were all very over protective over her.

"You see Daniel over there" I said as i ponted to my second in command who was monitoring the newbies making sure they did as i said.

"He didn't get to be the best because i was soft. I was so hard on him that they were days he wanted to kill himself. I was so hard on him that once he cried and begged for me to have mercy on him" i said as i turned back to my siblings.

"But now he is the best warrior who even rivals me. He can do himself what a whole army can do. I can trust him with my people and my life. I dont raise soldiers but machines of destruction that make sure that even if I'm not here...even if I'm not here no life is lost" Like i lost you.

Before they could respond a servant approached us with her head bowed in submission.

"Your Highness. The King and Queen request that you come see them immediately" she said in a low voice but i heard her loud and clear.

I turned to Daniel who was already standing right next to me.

"Don't worry I got things under control here" he said with a smile.

"Thank you" i said returning that smile before i followed the servant into the palace.
