Different

I was laughing and playing with the little babies. It was amazing. Just when I thought this world couldn't get any better.

From wolf, bear, cubs and all sorts of shifter pups to little fairies, pixies, fledglings and all sorts of other supernatural creatures I never thought existed. They were so different but so beautiful at the same time.

Kyungsoo, Luhan and I first played tag with them but now we were playing hide and seek in the forest. It was all fun and games until I heard a bear pup whimpering and crying. I followed the sound and soon I heard more babies crying and moved faster.

The babies seemed fine physically but were huddled together in fear. The main problem was that there was a man who stood above them who seemed ready to grab them.
Taking immediate action I tackled the man to the ground. My first priority was to protect the children and make sure no harm would come upon them.

He pushed me off him and turned to face me as his hood fell revealing blond hair and blue eyes. He seemed strangely familiar but I had no time to figure it out when he immediately attacked me with his fangs out. He was a vampire.

My hand to hand combat skills seemed to come in handy but what I didn't expect was for three more men to come out of the shadows. The blond male gave me a devious look before turning to the other men.

"You're quite strong and skilled for a small wolf. My brother was right about you but then expected you ran right into our trap. Goodbye little omega. It's a pity we have to kill you. I would have liked to keep a beauty like you for myself. I could use a new slave" he said with a smirk angering me even more but when I tried to punch him my hand was held by one of the other males as the blond disappeared.

Before I could think of a plan the man holding my hand was in the ground dead. I looked up and saw Minho who gave me a smile which I gladly returned. Thank goddess for my guardian.

We were able to kill the other two as well but more vampires just seemed to come out from the forest and attack.

"Get the children to safety" Minho shouted and I didn't fight him as I grabbed the babies and ran as far away as possible but I didn't go far and soon we were surrounded.

I tried my best to protect the children as they all hid behind me but the truth was I was afraid. I was strong and confident and skilled but over 20 vampires was beyond my level and my heart stopped when they all jumped on us at the same time. With my hand out as our only defence the last thought on my mind was my mate. I'm sorry Chanyeol. I'm sorry I failed to keep my promise.

I opened my eyes and sat up with my heart beating so hard it felt like it would jump out of my chest.

"Baby"

"Chanyeol" I turned to see my worried mate but I couldn't help but wrap my arms around him. I was so happy to see him.

"Baby calm down. It was just a dream"

"What?" A dream. It all seemed so real.

"Yes. You were screaming in your sleep and I had to wake you up somehow. Got me scared for a second" Chanyeol said as he held me tight.

"It was... It was just a dream. I'm so relieved... I thought I..."

"Shhh... Baby don't cry. It was just a dream" he held me tight as I let it all out. It was so real. I really thought I was dead. 

..........

We finally got up and ready for the day. Chanyeol went for his usual warriors training while I met up with Luhan and Kyungsoo.

"Are you excited about your birthday?" Luhan asked.

"It's just whatever. It isn't my first birthday" I responded my mood still a bit down from the time I woke up.

"Just whatever? This is like a life changing birthday for you. You finally get to shift into your wolf. You can finally mark your mate and officially start your life together" Kyungsoo said.

"I thought we had already started out life together"

"Well yeah but believe me sex makes it official in this world" Luhan said and we all laughed.

"And don't forget the queen is throwing you the dopest birthday party ever" Luhan said shaking his hips.

"Calm down and save those moves for the party" I said with a laugh. They were right. I will be starting my life officially with Chanyeol and I will be also finally become full wolf. Nothing bad is going to happen before then. I will be alive and well and strong. That stupid nightmare won't ruin may mood, my day or my life. I thought with a smile.

I can't leave my love when he had lost me already. He would be absolutely broken if I left him again and this time forever. If ever I fall into an encounter that might result in losing my life I swear to fight. I will not give up no matter what. I will live life to the fullest.

"So what's the agenda for today?" I asked.

"We sometimes babysit the little kids and we thought you might like to join us today" Kyungsoo said and my heart stopped.
