—  IT MAY SEEM STRANGE TO START A STORY WITH AN ENDING. Life moves in seconds, and you never truly realize the fleeting momentum of a second until it's gone; until we come upon our final bow and look back at our performance, wondering how the time did fly, and wishing we had done more.

Yet, endings always make way for new beginnings. At least, that's what Lionel told himself the day he died.

In death, he found his new beginning. His purpose. Peter Parker.

Peter Parker had gone through life with a certain tendency for unfortunate disasters. That's just who he was, like he was always cursed to live a misery-filled legacy.

Then, months after his uncle's death, the strangest things started to happen. Peter, for once, felt lucky.

Never stopping at a crosswalk, always having the perfect amount of change to get a sandwich from Delmar's- and the day Flash Thompson tripped over a skateboard while trying to bully Peter, he was almost sure the world was committing to these acts of luck as a means of apologizing for all the wrong it's done him.

Of course, no one is supposed to know about their guardian angel.
