Chapter Fifteen: Half a necklace is defriended.

The crowd roared the girls scram out Zack's name as he ran further, the other team tried to knock him over but Zack dodged them.

"GO!ZACK GO!"

The nosies yelled as usual they were dressed in green and black, in mini skirts and croptops, though they'd traded in thier heels for track shoes.

Zack scored the final hoop or what ever you call that... I'm a soccer player I have no idea how basket ball works like Zack has never understood soccer.

Jordyn gripped me close yelling into my ear, this was one of the few times her voice managed to shatter my ear drums.

The nosies ran out onto the court...field...basket ball place... as the boys all huddled together celebrating, Jordyn tugged on my arm and we both ran down, Tyler was already there and he caught Zack in his arms before kissing him.

The nosies rolled thier eyes all pointing at them, Zack and Tyler didn't care though continuing thier passionate kiss.

Zack deserved that,I'm happy to see that he finally doesn't care, for a long time in highschool he abided to the rules set by other people about who he should be.

Jordyn stopped me,
"Let them finish first Arianna." I nodded standing still as the team members girlfriend's and friends alike congratulated them, Zack and Tyler were engaged in a deep conversation glancing over at me every so often.

Tyler seemed to agree with whatever Zack was saying.

Jordyn started tugging me forward once more meeting the both of them in the middle,
"Congrats dude, i told you that there was no way you guys could loose!"

I held out my arms for a hug though i never recieved one instead Zack paid attention to Jordyn.

"Hey Jo,we're headed to an after party are ya'll coming?"

Jordyn seemed as taken back as i was and nodded slowly.
"Yeah we're coming."

I gripped Zacks rugby jersey making him face me,
"I'm right here you know." He avoided eye contact,
"I'm very aware, i just chose to ignore you." His voice was ice cold, it's like i was thrown over a bridge,
"Why?"
"I was just thinking that maybe we shouldn't be friends, it was nice and all when we were kids but now your a liability, we barely have time for one another."

I looked at Tyler who avoided eye contact, then at Zack whom was already walking away.

I took that as a hint and turned on my heel and walked away back up the stands, exactly what was going on?

This has never happened.

Ever.

If Zack and i had a problem we'd talk it out, we were cool yesterday so what could've happened between those fourteen hours?

I walked aimlessly and ended up at the soccer field, Adonis spotted me, probably sensing the distress i basically radiated.

I took a seat on the pavement, right under the curve of the stadium shelter, Adonis sat next to me,
"Hey Cerise." I didn't answer staring down at my hands,my eyes burnt begging to release the tears that wanted to stain my face, i pushes them back my chest tightened as i did but Arianna Sedio doesn't cry.

"Are you okay?" I nodded,
"Yeah I'm fine." He didn't even talk after that, he just sat next to me,
"What's wrong?" I took a deep breath,
"My bestfriend just defriended me." Adonis sighed pushing back his hair,
"Well do you know why?"
"Of course not."
"Well then go find out."

i got up nodding to myself i needed to talk to Zack, he's my best friend and even if we have to physically fight in order to sort this out we are sorting it now.

"Where are you going?"

"To go find Zack."

Exactly what am i even going to say?

Going up to him with a mind filled with turmoil isn't a good idea, we'll end up fighting physically and yes i know it may seem like we would never but the real situation is much more complex, Zack and i are evenly matched it would be a Homer Simpson vs Peter Griffin situation.

Anyone with common sense could tell that the after party was at Claire Hathaway's house again, the noise was over whelming, thanks fuck it's Tuesday because most of the students will probably head home early.

The smell of cheap drinks, sweat and chlorine coated the entire home and walking in was worse.

I was met with countless couples making out and of course Zack and Tyler, he looked...

.....

Happy.

The son of a badger looked happy and here i was suffering.

I know i said thinking rationally was my best bet but honestly i think that he deserves me being irrational.

I barely registered my actions when i was face to face with him, and he immediately broke eye contact,
"Look at me." He froze when he heard my voice, i know how it sounded and honestly I'd never expected to hear my voice sound like that.

"Look Arianna maybe you sh__"

i glared at Tyler, whom had dared to speak couldn't he see that his thoughts on the situation were irrelevant?

"You need to stay out of this." I growled, he shook his head,
"Well Zack's my boyfriend so i think i have the right to decide whether you can pester him or not."

I smiled at him the smile that indicated that i was willing to fight everyone in my way at this point, the same smile I'd used when i was about to beat up Peter Antonio back then and as if on cue Zack started paying attention to our exchange.

"Exactly how long have you known Zack? What like a few weeks? Well I've known him for more than ten years."
Tyler's nostrils flared yet he stepped back,
"Come on, I'm looking for a fight just start one trust me it'll be fun...for me at least." I croaked, i knew i was breaking honestly i was bound to break i was expecting it, the crowd was silent the music  seemed to stop.
"Aria,just leave." The crowd around us gasped  as Zack finally spoke,
"What?" He gripped my arm,
"I want you to leave, i don't want to be friends anymore." His eyes still avoided mine,
"What did i do?" He kept quiet not even sparing me a glance,
"You can't just say we aren't friends anymore, you have to have a valid reason."

His jaw clenched and he pulled harder, i pulled away looking up at him, a frown plasterd across my features,

"Please tell me what i did, i promise I'll change and...we'll be friends again." He looked away, not even daring to meet my gaze,
"No don't do that, Zack your my best friend, you can't do this to me, who am i supposed to cry to without you?" He stalled looking down at me, my face was hot and probably red at this point, he gripped my arm bending down slightly to my size,
"We can't be friends." He said one last time making direct eye contact.

There was no emotion in his eyes.

I nodded biting down on my lip hard, jerking my arm out of his then walking out on my own ironically the sky rumbled and cried for me.

Someone tapped my shoulder, Jordyn gave me a sad smile before she held out a silver chain, Zack's half of our friendship necklace,
She opened my palm for me and placed the warm metal there before closing my palm for me.

She didn't speak, she just walked away, i really needed her to say something especially since i needed a smidge of hope just the slightest bit of hope from one of her life speeches.

I guess that was it a twelve year friendship over at the blink of an eye, with me not even knowing how it ended.
