Eighteen: Talk To Her

~The next day~

Deirdre was wheeled into the cafe by Virgil, Roman holding the doors wide open. Virgil put Deirdre at a table while Roman ordered the coffees.

Virgil looked around and saw the two little girls sitting at a table.

"I can see them," Virgil muttered.

"Wait, she's here!?" Deirdre turned in her wheelchair and saw them. She looked back at Virgil and said, "I can't talk to her, not now!"

"Sure, you can." Virgil smiled and stood up. He walked over to the table and said, "Sup, my name is Virgil. My little friend over there was wondering if she could talk to the girl in red?"

"Me?" One of the girls asked.

"Yep." Virgil nodded.

She looked over at her sister and muttered, "Alright..."

She stood up and they made their way to the table. Virgil pulled Deirdre out a bit, making Deirdre look at the girl.

Deirdre blushed and stuttered out, "H-Hi, my name is D-Deirdre..."

"Greetings, I'm Lavada. What can I help you with?" She asked.

"N-Nothing... my friends wanted me to talk to you." Deirdre smiled a bit.

"Oh, how lovely. It's not every day I get to talk to a cutie such as yourself." Lavada winked.

Deirdre's heart pounded in her chest and her face felt on fire. She stuttered again, "C-C-Cutie...? I-I'm not..."

"Sure you are," Roman said as he walked over to them. He put the coffees down on the table. Roman sat down across from Virgil.

"Here. Have my number if you ever need someone to talk to." Lavada wrote down her number on a napkin and handed it to Deirdre.

"Th-Thanks..." Deirdre mumbled as she stared at the napkin.

"Anytime. See you later, Deer." Lavada waved and walked away.

It was silent between the three. Virgil looked at Deirdre and spoke up, "Deirdre, you okay?"

"I'm fine..." Deirdre muttered. "I just got her number."

"She seemed like quite the flirt," Roman smirked as he sipped his coffee.

"And yet, I think she's interested in me..." Deirdre smiled a bit.

"Of course she is. I could just see it in her eyes." Virgil smiled.

"Thank you, guys. This really means a lot to me." Deirdre looked at Roman and Virgil.

"Don't mention it," Virgil said and sipped his coffee.

"Okay," Deirdre said and sipper her own coffee. 'Maybe things... will be alright after all.'
