Falte used to be Dog and Kai's (Muddy's) last name. 

This name was my sister's idea, and I have absolutely no idea how she thought of it XD. When Kai (still Muddy) and Dog reunited, we would use the last name to make them realize that they were related. Because of how many tries I took at these books, this happened several times.
