♡♡♡♡♡
sorry for taking so long to update. I was about to edit this part when I realized I kinda left a few thing like...hanging there unresolved. So I was considering adding more, but I just couldn't bring myself to do it. Lol. Anyways, this isn't exactly the end, there'll be a sixth part but idk when I'm gonna write that. Going over this kinda made me realize their relationship isn't exactly healthy, but it fits. Okay!!! Thankkk youuu for reading♡♡♡♡(ignore any typos)
------------
Ochako was rudely woken up by the sound of her phone ringing. It was a faint sound at the back of her dream, but it was too loud for her to ignore. She lets out a groan and rubs the sleep out of her eyes.
It was darker in her room than earlier as she fumbled around for her phone in the dark. The sun had started to set, so she assumed it was around five pm.
Once she successfully finds her phone, the caller Id is no other than Izuku Midoriya. The boy who drove her crazy. She let out a yawn and answered it, putting it on speaker–as she was too tired to hold her hand up, and closed her eyes.
"Hey. I called you like five times." Izuku says quickly, in a worried tone. Ochako lets out a breathy laugh at the way he still seemed to care for her even after basically admitting to her he thinks she's fucking crazy. "I was sleeping." Ochako says.
"Of course you were." Izuku says, a small smile on his lips, even though she can't see him. "Can I come over? I want to talk to you." Izuku asks. Ochako gets a small feeling of deja vu but shakes it off.
"Are you going to be nice to me?" She asks. She wouldn't let him come over just to continue being a dick. She'd probably punch the shit out of him if he said anything similar to what he said earlier.
"Of course." Izuku says honestly. Ochako sighs and picks at her lip. "Uhm. I have to ask my mom. I'll text you whatever her answer is." She says.
"Thank you." Izuku says softly. Ochako just hums as an answer and they share their goodbyes. Ochako pushes her phone off her chest, which is where it laid while she was talking to Izuku. She stands up, turning on her dim desk lamp.
...
Izuku waits anxiously after he rings the doorbell to Ochako's house. He was more concerned with Ochakos dad being the one to answer the door. Just thinking about him gave him violent shivers. He was a big intimidating guy, obviously over six feet tall. He constantly gave Izuku death glares for a while when he had first started dating Ochako. It was uncomfortable, but Ochakos mom was always the nicer one so it relieved his anxiety.
Izuku is snapped out of his thoughts when the door opens. He looks up, prepared to see the man that was dreading his arrival. Although, no one was there which made him look down in confusion, causing him to make eye contact with Ochako. He was a good few inches taller than her and had to look down if he wanted to see her face.
"Sorry for taking so long to answer. I had to argue with pa about answering the door. I didn't want him to scare you." Ochako says gently, opening the door wider for him to come in. Her soft voice and country accent calms him down a little and his heart rate goes back to normal.
"It's okay. I was nervous anyways." Izuku chuckles to himself as he takes off his shoes.
"I know. You're sweating and your hands are trembling." She says, smiling softly at the things his body did unconsciously when he was anxious. She found it funny. It made him cuter than he already was.
Ochakos cheeks turned red and she furrowed her eyebrows, crossed her arms, and turned her head away from Izuku. Her last thought caught her off guard and she didn't want him to see her blushing.
"Hello, Midoriya." Ochakos mom greets him, giving him a small smile. Izuku nervously greets her back, not sure if she had a tainted view of him now for breaking up with her daughter.
"We're gonna be in my room." Ochako tells her mom, waiting for her approval. Once she gets a nod back, she leads Izuku down the hallway to her room.
Ochako closes the door behind her gently, and Izuku sits on her bed. "Your room hasn't changed much." Izuku says looking around her room that was overdosed with pink and white. With a bunch of posters of anime girls or idols and figurines and stuffed toys lining her bed and shelves.
"Of course, it hasn't, dummy." Ochako says, plopping herself down next to him. Izuku chuckles quietly, and it's silent for a few moments.
"I'm sorry for calling you names and blaming you for stuff you can't control. I didn't mean any of it, and I have no idea why I thought of it in the first place." Izuku says. He didn't have an excuse or explanation for his words.
Ochako hums. "Are you sure?" She asks. It's not that she didn't believe his words, it's just that it hurt a lot and she needed to be convinced to accept his apology.
"Of course." Izuku says quietly. Ochako looks down at her socks. "I dunno. It just felt...so specific like you've been thinking that for a while." Ochako says. He wouldn't have just thought that out of nowhere because she was just asking him a question. She wasn't even mad at him.
Izuku stays silent for a moment. "I haven't, You just get upset so easily over little things and do stuff to help you cope that just ends up hurting you longer than you're upset." Izuku says, looking at her. "I just don't wanna say the wrong things around you 'cause I don't know how you'll react."
Ochako brings her legs up on the bed and crosses them. She knew she was draining to be around. And she tried her best to do whatever it took to be less unbearable to be around. It didn't hurt her. She wanted the people around her to be happy. She would ask why Izuku asked her to be his girlfriend again if she was so draining and he felt like he was walking on eggshells around her, but she decided to leave it alone.
"I wasn't mad at you for lying, I just wanted to know why you lied. I could care less what you did while we were broken up. It just didn't feel fair." Ochako mumbles, picking at the scabs around her nails. She always told Izuku everything regarding the people around them, whilst Izuku kept this a secret and tried to lie to her. It hurt, but she understood he had no bad intentions with it. She couldn't get mad at him.
"So you're not mad at me?" Izuku asks. The last thing he wanted was for her to force herself to forgive him. Ochako shakes her head. "Are you sure?" Ochako nods.
"It's fine." Ochako mumbles. It was an accident. Everyone has said stuff they didn't mean. She just needed to suck it up and get over it. Ochako kept her head on her knees. It's eerily quiet and she shudders as she feels her hair moved and a soft kissed place on the back of her neck. Then another one. And another.
Soon it turns into Izuku adding more bites and hickeys to the collection that was on the front of her neck. At least she could hide them easier.
She lets out a breathy whine as Izuku gently nibbles on her ear. She hears him chuckle gently. It makes her blush more. "It's cute when your ears turn red when you blush." Izuku says.
Ochako pouts and lifts her head up to look at him. "Shuddup." She mumbles. Izuku chuckles again and goes in for a kiss. Ochako closes her eyes and kisses him back. She shouldn't have. She should have hated him. Any normal person wouldn't get back with their ex, especially if they called them names. But Ochako wasn't one to think properly.
And she loved Izuku too much. It would take a lot for him to hurt her so much that she'd fall out of love with him.
------
Winter break had gone by just as slowly as it took to start, and the new year had started. It was January sixth and school had started up again.
Although Ochakos break wasn't the most normal, it had started painfully but ended...not as badly as she was thinking. She wanted to end her winter break dead, but instead, she had her boyfriend back. And she couldn't be happier. At least in the condition she was in.
Ochako rests her head on Izuku's arm as they walk down the hallway to their classroom, fingers intertwined. She really didn't want to be back at school, but she got to wear Izuku's uniform sweater again, so her mood was mildly improved. Although it wouldn't last long.
"Are you nervous?" Izuku asks, looking down at her. Ochako looks up at him through her lashes. "No. Why would I be?" She asks.
Izuku smiles. "Your hand is trembling and you wouldn't stop fidgeting on the way here." He was slightly worried about her as she only trembled when she was extremely anxious, but he found it cute. Ochako pouts and blushes. "Shuddup." She mumbles looking away. Izuku laughs at her flustered face as he slides open the classroom door.
Ochako leads him to the back of the room where her desk was. Izuku sat too close to the front and she didn't feel like being bothered by comments about them. She tosses her bag on the floor and sits down. "Where am I gonna sit?" Izuku pouts looking down at her. Ochako scoots over in her seat and pat's the space next to her. "Here." She says, giving him a teasing smile.
Izuku pouts more and grabs ochako by the waist, lifting her up, and making her let out a squeal as he sits on her chair. He gently places her in the space between his legs and fixes her skirt.
"There! Now there's space for the both of us." He says, giving her his best smile. Ochako looks back at him and scowls. "You're so annoying. Honestly." She mumbles, turning around and bending down to get her pencil case and sketchbook out of her bag. She loved him dearly, but sometimes he was a little annoying. But it was something that made her fall for him more.
"I haven't seen any of your drawings in a while. Can you show me?" Izuku asks, resting his chin on her shoulder. Ochako hums for a second while as she thinks. She hadn't drawn in a while and all the sketches in her current notebook were rather gruesome as the stuff she drew was impacted by her mood.
But she knew Izuku was a huge fan of her stuff and wouldn't judge her. "Fine." She says, handing him her book.
"You're so good Ochako. I dunno why you make it seem like you're terrible at drawing. You should start sharing this stuff." Izuku says as he flips through the last few drawings Ochako blushes at his praise and squirms. "It's embarrassing..." she says. She was afraid of other people's comments and greatly enjoyed making art for her eyes and her eyes only.
"Well, you should think about it." Izuku says, handing the spiral-bound book back to her. Ochako hums and flips to a clean page, taking her lucky pink pen out. She decided she would draw something cute to congratulate her happy mood.
Izuku smiles softly, looking down at her. "Yknow, I like your hair like this." He says, running his fingers through her hair. It was longer than her usual Bob. It reached her shoulders and the bangs on her forehead covered her eyebrows. "Why?" Ochako asks, raising an eyebrow and looking at him confused.
"Because you look so cute." He says, moving a piece of hair behind her ear.
"Oh. I bought you something the other day." Izuku says, reaching down to get something from his book bag. Ochako blushes as he takes out a hair clip and places it in her hand.
"It's Hello kitty. Your favorite. She reminds me of you. You're feisty like a cat, but super cute at the same time." He says.
Ochako pouts. Izuku was always buying small things for her and it was so sweet. It made her stomach bubble with butterflies and she placed it on her desk.
"Thank you." She mumbles, crossing her arms. Izuku chuckles and wraps his arms around her waist, digging his head into the crook of her neck.
------
Ochako claps her hands together and says a prayer before she ate her lunch. It was just a small bowl of rice with some chicken. She needed to eat and it was all her stomach could force down for today.
She was eating lunch with her friends today, as she usually spent lunch break alone in the library the last few months. She wanted to start the new year off right.
"Y'know Ochako," Mina starts, after shoving a piece of pork in her mouth. "You've been improving ever since you've gotten back from the hospital. If we exclude that day. You seem a bit happier. I'm proud." She says, giving her a smile.
The rest of the girls, except for one, chime in and congratulate Ochako. They were all friends and briefly knew Ochako wasn't the happiest, so seeing her somewhat happy was relieving. Ochako blushes and looks down. She was about to thank them before Tsu, who was sitting next to her, cut her off.
"I'd agree if it were because something bad actually happened to you. It's kind of pathetic to be so attached to a boy that you harm yourself that badly after being broken up with. And you still took him back after he practically had sex with another girl." She says proudly.
Ochakos eyes widened and she turned her head to look at her, only to find Tsu's eyes already on her.
"No boy is worth it that much. Have some self-respect. It's just some dumb high school relationship." She adds. Ochakos cheeks heat up with embarrassment. She couldn't believe someone was really saying that to her. She looked up at the rest of the girls and they all looked shocked. Either because they were realizing Tsuyu was correct or because they thought what she said was bullshit.
She couldn't tell which one and it was stressing her out. She was hurt. Actually, she was pissed. She didnt need to be slandered. She had enough issues as it is and Izuku breaking up with her is what made her crack. It wasn't just him. It couldn't have been just him.
She felt she was going crazy. Her heart was thumping in her chest and her cheeks burning with embarrassment wasn't helping with the feeling either. It felt like she couldn't breathe.
She stands up, her chair falling behind her and making a loud sound as it hits the floor. Her intention was to leave the cafeteria and go somewhere she could melt down properly, but the mild panic attack that was forming in her was affecting her ability to think properly and it's how her fist ended up making contact with Tsuyu's cheek as she punched her hard.
It causes her to fall out of her chair, landing on the floor. She holds her cheek, propping herself up on her elbow. She looks up at Ochako who's crying and wearing a hurt expression. Before she can get another word out, Ochako is on top of her and punches her again before punching her repeatedly.
She gave her no time to react. Ochako was hurt. And angry. Angry that someone she trusted could sit there and say those types of things in front of her and her and her friends and not feel any shame.
"Its none of your business what I fucking do! So what if I have shitty standards? I'm happier than you'll ever be!" Ochako yells. Maybe she was right and Ochako was the childish one, but it still hurt and she could have told her in a non-antagonistic way.
Before she could get another hit in to deform Tsuyus face, she was being pried off of Tsu by familiar hands. By now the whole cafeteria was aware of the commotion and sat silently as they watched.
Ochako was being held back by Mina as she tried to squirm out of her grasp. She could barely see the blood that covered Tsuyu's lips from her bloody nose and her cheek that was bruised purple through her tears.
She was so pissed and she desperately wanted to be let go so she could continue punching her dumb face until she apologized to her.
"You're a freak Ochako! I don't understand how you, of all people, can be loved so much." Tsuyu snarls. "You're a burden and I don't know how no one has noticed since the moment you tried to kill yourself. You haven't changed at all since then. And then you go and try it again!"
Ochako only cries harder and desperately fights out Mina's grasp. She wanted to stomp on Tsuyu's head until it was nothing but a bloody black, purple, and blue mess.
"You know nothing about me or how I've been hurt! You have no right to talk about me like that!" Ochako screams, her sobs only getting louder. It hurt her heart so much that this is how one of her friends thought of her. Tsu always seemed a little quieter and uncomfortable when it came to talking about her issues and she respected that and avoided talking about it around her. But now she knew it was because she thought she was an attention seeker and the cause of her own problems.
Each gasp she took in an attempt to catch her breath was painful and she felt as if she was dying. She could feel and see everyone's eyes on her as they stared and whispered amongst themselves. The realization makes her breath stop and her eyes widen. They all knew she was an attention seeker now. They all believed she was a psycho and they were judging her for it.
This all could have been avoided. She could have just ignored Tsu. She didn't have to start a fight. If she had never punched her no one would have known. Scratch that, if her attempt actually worked, she wouldn't be here to witness Tsuyu saying it. And it wouldn't have mattered to her because she would be dead and wouldn't have heard her. She felt fucking sick.
She can barely comprehend what was going on as Mina rushes her to a nearby garbage can. She uses it to empty out her breakfast and whatever little lunch she had eaten. She gags and heaves at the sour taste.
Next thing she knows she's being dragged–not literally–out of the cafeteria and into the empty hallway. She barely hears Mina asking Mister Aizawa if they could let her calm down before they talked to her. She didn't know who "they" was, all she knew was that she regretted her actions, was scared, and just wanted to curl up into a ball and be cradled by her boyfriend. She vaguely remembers sitting on the couch in principal Nezu's office and sobbing until she couldn't anymore and was out of energy.
Now, she found herself in the passenger seat of her dad's car as the drive home from school was eerily quiet. She ended up getting sent home early because of her panic attack, and a one day suspension. Tsuyu on the other hand didn't get any punishments as she technically didn't break any school rules.
She didn't mind. She deserved the punishment. She understood what Tsuyu said wasn't right, but it wasn't her place to hit her. At least her parents knew the martial arts and were working, but also had to get her more counseling on her anger issues before they could develop into something more.
Her parents would give her a punishment later as her dad had to return back to work after he dropped her off at home. So she at least had a few hours to be free. Well, that was if she ignored the silent treatment her father was giving her. She tried to not let it get to her.
She feels her phone vibrate in her skirt pocket. She takes it out and turns it on to see a text message from Izuku. She smiles and opens it.
Izuku: I heard what happened
Izuku: Are you okay?
Ochako: not really
Izuku: I'm sorry. I should have been there to defend you.
Ochako rolls her eyes. He always blamed himself for not being there to protect her and she found it annoying. It wasn't his job to defend her and she wanted him to realize that sometimes he couldn't always be there for her. And she still loved him regardless.
Ochako: it's not ur fault. What did I tell you about blaming yourself?
Ochako: and besides, I handled it myself
Izuku snorts at her last text.
Izuku: yeah, by managing to get yourself suspended on the first day back.
Izuku: I admire your strength but theres a time and a place and you could have waited after school to get your anger out in a non-civil way.
Ochako: so you believe she deserved that?
Izuku:...maybe
Ochakos smile grows and she chuckles softly. She always knew that no matter what she did, Izuku would be her number one supporter.
Ochako: I had a lot of anger inside me. I didn't want to hurt her.
Izuku: you must have a lot of anger stored in that body of yours if you almost broke her nose."
Izuku knew now to never mess with Ochako. He was sure there were times she wanted to punch his face so hard she'd crack his skull, but didn't because he was her boyfriend.
They continue messaging each other until Izuku stops replying and Ochako assumes its because class had started again. The small nonverbal conversation between them made her mood slightly improve dispite the shit show that had gone on that day.
-----
It's the weekend and the sun is finally out for a change. The warm rays warm up the city of Tokyo during the cold dreary winter and it's for once bearably warm outside.
Ochako closes her eyes and leans in, resting her head on Izuku's shoulder as they sit in silence. They sit on the same bench Ochako did when she called Izuku that night in December. The night that would repair their untouchable relationship.
Despite the fact her life was falling apart around her and she had dug herself into a hole she assumed she would never get out of somehow, Izuku was still there for her, being the small slip of moonlight she needed to see in the dark.
Ochako opens her eyes and looks up at Izuku through her eyelashes. Her cheek were tinted with a soft pink as she admired the way he looked so peaceful, staring at the view in front of them
"Izuku?" She calls out gently. Izuku is snapped out of his trance and he looks down at her, giving her a soft smile. "Mhn?"
"I love you." She says, giving him a shy smile, but covering it up with the sleeve paw of the thick hoodie she was wearing that was actually Izuku's.
Izuku moves her hand from her face and leans down giving her a soft kiss Ochako dosen't hesitate to give back.
"I love you, Ochako." He says. He didn't want to say "I love you too." He wasn't agreeing with her. He loved her, and he was telling her. It was a fact.
Ochako blushes more and stuffs her head in his arm again, hugging him gently. Her heart fluttered in that dumb way it always does when he does something that makes her fall for him all over again.
She had her boyfriend back, but that didn't mean the hole she dug herself into was magically filled, and she was successfully out without a hit of dirt on her. But what it did mean, was that she had extra support on the way back up. And she couldn't be happier.
She knew that any normal person wouldn't get back with someone who lied to their face several times, but Ochako needed him. He motivates her to get out of bed each morning and try to get better. He was her sanity. She could care less how he hurt her or how much he cared about her as long as she was with him. That's all that mattered to her.
