"Beetlestar has died this past moon, killed by the claws of an ambitious warrior, Sandwillow." Burnetstar meowed, lowering his head, while keeping his eyes on the gathered Clan cats. "I've made Dartingshade my deputy," the cats quietly murmured his name, the enthusiasm sucked out of them after hearing of the former leader's sudden death.

        "What did you do with Sandwillow?" A GladeClan warrior called out from the crowd. Burnetstar picked his head back up, quickly coming up with an answer.

"I exiled her, of course. I told her she wasn't allowed to step paw in any clan territory, and if she does, she'll be killed." Quiet whispers picked up, and Burnetstar glanced a quick flash of admiration in Eaglestar's eye. His gaze darkened though when he saw Snakepaw, who had pulled Cricketpaw to the side and was hissing in the younger apprentice's ear.

       "Then how come Cricketpaw said Sandwillow died?" An apprentice called out from the huddle of young cats. Snakepaw looked up over his dark furred shoulder to Burnetstar, the young tom's sharp green eyes expressionless.
