"No, you're still MY son, and-"

Wally threw himself up from the food court table, He was glad the social worker let him choose the location this time. "I'm not going back! You can burn all my shit if you want to!" He huffed, pulling his back pack off the floor. "I'm going to stay WITH MY BOYFRIEND."

"NO! You get back here! You are my son, you are not turning into a faggot!"

Wally did the most relieving thing he could think of: Flip them off over his shoulder while walking away. "SUCK A COCK!"

Once he was out of the mall, Wally turned on the superspeed. He could go home to the Aunt's, but 1) She was out, 2) his uncle was off world, and 3) they were the ones who convinced him to meet with his parents and social worker and try to 'talk things over'. No, he was going to Gotham.

He had slightly exaggerated when he called Dick his boyfriend. He just wanted to piss off his homophobic parents. They didn't really know what they were, honestly. He also called Dick 'My boyfriend', because they didn't know where he lived, and couldn't interfere.

His social worker, Kathleen, was calling. He declined the call. Girl had tried her best, but Wally was NOT going back. Maybe know she would see why his aunt and uncle was trying to foster him for the next year or so until he was eighteen.

It was about seven when the manor came into view. Wally dug his heels into the pavement to slow down, but he'd already burnt off the tread on his sneakers. Wally slammed into the huge gate, he scampered to the microphone and jammed his first onto the call button.

"Hi. Something happened. I need to talk to Dick please... This is Wally West by the way."

After a minute or so, the gate purred open, and the redhead sprinted in. He was caught a little off guard to see Dick running back out to him. "Hey man, come on in. We're just finishing dinner!" Dick hooked his arm under Wally's backpack and around his chest.

"Thanks." Wally uttered, voice cracking a little. "Sorry to interrupt dinner."

"Eh, it's no big. So are you spending the night?"

Wally shrugged. "I dunno. Maybe. I don't wanna..."

"It's fine man. I'll tell Bruce." The two of them entered the bright, warm foyer and kicked off their shoes. Wally rested his bag at the foot of the stairs and followed Dick into the dining room.

Bruce wasn't a huge fan of Wally West, and didn't care who knew it. He had a thing against metas and tryhards. So basically anyone his sons wanted to date.

Still, his want to protect children with bad home lives overpowered his frustration with flashes. "Hello Wally."

"Hello Mr. Wayne." Wally toyed with his hair nervously.

In passing, Bruce asked Alfred to get a plate of food for Wally. The butler seemed to get traumatic flashbacks to how much the boy ate last time. "So, Wally." Bruce set down his glass. "Are you staying the night?"

Wally shrugged timidly. "I dunno."

"Okay, Dick will you set up a bed for Wally?"

"Later!" Dick insisted, finishing his dinner. He leaned over the table. "They tried to take you back?"

"Yeah. Rudolf wants to beat my ass for saying that I'm at risk."

"Asshole." Dick said. It was always a bad sign when Wally referred to his parents by their first names. "sorry." He muttered before anyone could call him out on his swearing.

"Hmm?" Bruce pretending he hadn't heard that. Dick wasn't supposed to curse, but he made an exception for cursing aimed at abusive pieces of shit.

"Nothin'!" Dick replied. "So are you gonna be staying with Auntie Iris?

"I want to... and since I guess I'm a homeless queer youth with a really good social worker, I get a little money to help with bills and stuff. Which is good cause my Dad keeps calling just to drain my phone bill."

"Dickhead!" Dick shouted before he could stop himself. Bruce pretended not to be listening. "You should change your number. We can probably help with phone bills if you want. Right Bruce?"

"Hmm?"

"Anyways, lets go upstairs!" Dick exclaimed as Wally polished up his plate. They both got cups of water, thanked Alfred for the meal, and scampered out to get Wally's bag. Tim was passing through the foyer when they got there.

"Oh hey Wally. Staying the night?"

"I guess."

"Good to know your safe." Tim assured, patting Wally on the shoulder. They'd bonded over asshole parents the first time Wally ran away. "Well be careful, or Bruce will adopt you too."

"He wouldn't want me. I've made a bad impression every time we meet." Wally scooped his backpack off the ground.

"Well He adopted Jay, and he tried to seal the hubcaps off the batmobile."

"Unlike Jay, I won't dye my hair for the guy!"

"TIM!" Dick objected. "Wally's mine! Get your own speedster!" He waved Wally upstairs after him. "So what do you wanna do?"

"I dunno." Wally didn't want to make demands while staying in the manor.

"Kay! Let's watch something." Dick opened his laptop. "Put something on while I make popcorn!" He sprinted out.

Wally always felt a little bad staying in the manor. Everyone was so nice letting him be there with all his emotional baggage. He put on The Office, just so he didn't have to sit in silence. He watched halfheartedly for a few minutes.

"HEY DICKHEAD!"  Jason kicked the door open, wearing one oven mitt. "Oh, sup."

"Sup."

"Staying the night?" Wally nodded. "SICK! Just don't fuck my brother."

"I swear, we won't until we're both eighteen."

"So is your dad being an asshole?"

"Uh huh."

"BASTARD! Do you want me to shoot him?"

"In theory yes." Wally murmured. "But if uncle B finds out who killed him, he'd disown me."

Jason wasn't good with morally complicated situations.. "Well, you wanna go to your house tomorrow and cut the power or something?"

"Sure. Can Dick come?"

"Fine. But just remember, even though I pity your home life, you're still a bastard and I still don't want you fucking my brother."

"We won't! I told you!"

"JAY! Oh my god! Go away!" Dick whined, popping into view, cradling a bowl of popcorn. "Sorry I took so long. Alfred really chewed me out for making microwave popcorn. Plus Bruce is on my ass cause... you wanna sleep in here or in a guest room?"

"Here I guess." Wally replied.

Dick leaned over the stairs. "WALLY'S SLEEPING IN MY ROOM!"

Bruce shouted back nearly inaudible. "What?"

Dick: "WALLY'S SLEEPING IN MY ROOM TONIGHT!"

Bruce: "Do you need to set up a bed?"

Dick: "WHAT?"

Bruce: "Do You Need To Set Up A Bed?"

Dick: "NO, WE'LL JUST SHARE!"

Bruce: "What?"

Dick: WE'RE GOING TO SHARE-"

Bruce: I HEARD WHAT YOU SAID! COME DOWN HERE AND TALK NORMALLY!"

The fifteen year old scoffed, sliding the bowl of popcorn into his room. "I'll be right back." He left. "COMING!"

It was later in the evening now, the boys had some fun: painting nails, eating dry cereal, and dressing up in some of Steph and Babs' old skirts.

Wally never got over how accepting the Wayne house hold was, at least half the boys loved dressing up in skirts, and all of the boys (and girls, though they weren't legal siblings) were super gay. Wally assumed that after so many depressed queer kids, Bruce Wayne couldn't identify what was 'normal behaviour' for teenage boys.

Right now, Dick and Wally were curled up on the former's bed, watching Buzzfeed Unsolved. Wally and Dick were so close, they shared a bed most of the time. dating or not, they were close friends, and their boundaries were mostly out the window.

"Are you going back to central tomorrow?" Dick asked.

Wally shrugged. "I have school. But I'm a little worried they called the school."

Dick nodded. "You should probably let your social worker know you're okay."

Wally leaned against him. "Can I come back here after school tomorrow? I'm scared Uncle Barry will be mad that I ran off."

"Of course! I have patrol tomorrow night! You should totally pick up your suit tomorrow and join us!" Dick grinned. "We can meet up for milkshakes after school- Don't worry about money, I'll pay!"

Wally smiled, the two cuddled against each other. "I'd like that."
