How I Met Janelle

May 1, 2017
Dear Diary,

It was the summer of 2001.

Joe meets Patrick and he's like, "Yo, I know about music.'' And...

Sorry sorry, let me rephrase that.

It was the winter of 2017. Ciara meets Janelle and she's like, "Yo, I know about music.

OKAY THAT'S ENOUGH FOR REAL NOW.
Here's how I met the famous Janelle.

It was an ordinary day in Biology class. (Well, it needed up being extraordinary) It began like ever other day. I walked in alone, sat in a desk alone, got out my homework alone, and remembered how I had no friends in that class, alone.

Seconds before the bell rings the girl hurries into the classroom. She's got really pretty blonde hair with some purple streaks and slight eyeliner that looks perfect. Damn.

She stands under the doorframe, blue eyes scanning the room for a moment before locating the teacher in the back. She carefully approaches the teacher and softly asks a question. That's when I realized I had been staring far too long to be considered ''normal.''

The class dragged on for another fifteen minutes or so. I found myself looking at the girl again and that's when I noticed.

She was wearing a Twenty One Pilots bracelet.

Yes, I could tell even from afar.

Us Skeleton Clique members have extreme eyesight when it comes to noticing jewelry.

Later, the teacher told us to break off into groups to work on an assignment. This, I usually do alone. But Not Today (sorry). Today I was working with that girl. I brought my stuff and slowly waked over to her desk, where she sat nervous and flustered, looking around the room thinking she had to find a group of strangers to work with.

I wasn't sure what to say so I pointed to my own Twenty One Pilots wristband. She gasped and we immediately launched into conversation, getting none of our work done for the rest of class. I found out she was new and moved here only last week.

Later at lunch, I found her wandering aimlessly trying to find a place to sit (it was the saddest thing). I saw a group of three popular girls coming up to her. I knew they were going to absorb her into their exclusive clique, suck all the fun out of her, and then leave her friendless in a month.

Not wanting to have to watch that happen, I quickly got to her first and brought her to my second lunch table (the one with all the "emos") I got her phone number and the rest is history...
