The boys

It was around 8 when I woke up. I was so used to being interrupted by that stupid alarm clock. Yet today, it was silenced, and so it would be for the rest of the summer.
I got up as usual and went to see what I could eat.
I grabbed leftover waffles, and plopped onto the couch. Just as I found the right channel to watch, I heard a noise.
Knock knock
I wasn't expecting anyone, so who was it?
I took a look through the little peephole on my door. The familiar face of Lucas, on of my other neighbors, greeted me.
I yelled through the door.
"Go away, don't you know what time it is?"
" Yeah so? Come out, we're playing man tracker." He replied calmly.
How in mother nature do they wake up so early, to be able to get dressed, eat and not be too tired to play Man tracker??!
"I said no, now leave me the hell alone."
I leaned against the door to listen if he were to walk away.
Sigh
Then there were footsteps, going off my front porch.
Obviously I finished my food and sat, for hours watching TV.
Finally when I realised I stank, I got up to get ready.
There wasn't much to do, and I didn't feel like playing video games.
Instead,I went outside. I wasn't tired anymore so maybe I could play man tracker or something.
When I got outside, no one was running around. Maybe they had gone home by now. It was already 1 o'clock anyway. I shrugged and went to go check the big feild behind our block of houses. Some of the kids would play there, and us "older kids" -as the younger kids parents would call us- would chill there sometimes.
I stepped around the corner, and noticed a group of kids - no not kids, most of them were my age. They were crowded around something, there were quite a few of them too. I couldn't really see what all the fuss was about. I ran up closet to take a look. That's when I heard the sound.
It wasnt the sound of them talking, nor whispering as a group of huddled people would.
It was a horrible sound. First it sounded like laughter, which it partly was, but beneath the laughter was te sound of choking and pleading for them to stop.
I realised that below all the feet, of the people gathered here, we're two more feet. Yet these feet stuck out, they were in a position, like somebody was laying there. I noticed that the shoes on these feet, we're familiar.
Andy's shoes.
I yelled and screamed, and began ripping everyone out of the group. I grabbed them, swung them around until they fell.
"Stop that now! The hell is wrong with you? Go home before I can whip your ass!"
They all kind of looked confused, I never really swore much. I guess that's what scarred them off. I'd pound them later if I caught them.
I looked down at Andy
He looked back up at me.
His face was red, not from warmth, nor blushing. He could barely breath. He tried to talk, I don't care what he was going to say.
"Shut up, don't talk, I know it hurts. I'm going to get your parents."
Honestly I didn't know what to do. I just grabbed my water bottle and put it next to him, incase he needed it.
I ran faster than last night. Down the sidewalk I went, all the way to his house.
I pounded on the door with all my strength. Finally, his brother opened up.
"Huh?"
I remember his face being so confused. I didn't know why. But then I saw my reflection in one of the windows.
Tears flooded my face.
I tried to speak, I almost couldn't.
"Get your parents...A-Andy is hurt...bad"
He stood there for a second, and then nodded and took off.
"What? This better not be a joke Austen."
I heard his parents in the backround, soon they rushed out to see me.
I tried to tell them what had happened, but I was crying so hard, and I don't even know why. I still don't. They followed me anyway.
They got there and began to care for him, they helped him sit up, and even made him drink my water.
I sat there, watching it all, and trying to wipe the tears from my face.
