Plan and Action
The day was hotter than what she thought would be normal as Diana walked through the gardens. She went with Anne and a new lady in waiting she just met named Jane. She knew all about how Jane would take Anne's place after her head was removed but she did not want to think of at that point. The women chatted about different things, the men at court being the best subject. Diana seemed to be in her own little world as the two women beside her spoke of the encounters they may hope to encounter for themselves.
"Diana?" Anne asked catching her attention.
"Hmm?" Diana replied looking to both the women.
"We thought you didn't hear us; we were speaking about the men at court. Do any of them strike your interest?" Jane asked with a small grin.
Diana thoughts back to the men at court, in all honesty she had not taken a good look at any of them. She was too focused on the Queen and then Lady Camile and finally Simon, who they knew as Brendan. Thinking of any names she could she just shrugged not sure what to tell the women.
"In all honesty I confess, my mind had not been on the men at court." Diana sighed as she walked with the ladies.
"Her lessons must occupy most of her thoughts and time." Jane nodded.
"Brendan occupies quite a bit as well, not that I blame her for that at all." Anne grinned a friendly smile.
Diana automatically blushed and tried to hide it but that was useless. Jane and Anne giggled right along with her. They thought she had slept with him when the truth was all they had done was kiss. Not that she would deny him if the time ever came.
"Let her have her fun with him, hopefully a time will not come when the queen may have to have her married off as well. You know that tends to happen with royal families." Jane sighed.
Oh, how much that was true, Diana knew the story of the royals making alliances through marriage and she did not want to become one of them. Anne nodded in agreement with Jane. They came to the entrance to the court just as Lady Camile threw a vase down at the ground and stormed off to what they thought were the kitchens.
"Oh dear, she is in a mood again." Anne groaned and rolled her eyes.
"Dare I ask what the cause is this time?" Diana questioned.
"Who knows?" Jane replied with a shrug. "It changes from moment to moment. Someone better stops her before she destroys something priceless."
Diana nodded and went forward. Anne and Jane had to go attend to the queen so Diana would use this time to investigate. Opening the doors to the empty kitchen she looked around confused. Was there more than one kitchen in this place and this one just happened to be empty? She then heard a crash from in front of one of the corridors leading somewhere else. Moving a curtain aside, she saw Camile in the time traveler suit and she was trying to figure out something on the watch. A misstep however made Camile turn around and glare daggers at Diana.
"You! I should have known you would ruin everything?!" Camile yelled as she went to attack Diana.
Hitting her watch, her suit appeared and stopped Camile in her tracks. She looked terrified. Did Camile not think that someone would catch onto her from the agency and track her down to bring her back for the crimes she committed, not to mention the one she had done to poor Simon. The shock did not last too long, she then tackled Diana to the ground and tried to fight her. However, Diana being trained by gladiators knew how to take on almost any enemy. Headbutting Camile backwards, Diana managed to wrap her legs around the lady's neck and get her off her person.
Rolling away, Diana knew this was a fight no one would need to know about. She was about to call Fred when she felt someone grab her leg. Looking up she saw Camile was the culprit and Diana used the full force of her free leg to kick her off.
"Fred, block off my area...you may want to let Simon know I am in a fight with Camile." Diana whispered to her watch.
Jumping up, Diana prepared herself for what the lady would try to do next.
"I should have known you were an agent, not as dumb as the idiot I brought here. He was just as the wrong place at the wrong time. Now I will make sure to erase you both from history." Camile grinned.
"Whatever logic you think you have is completely misplaced. Yes, I am an agent and my objective are to bring you back to face the punishment for the crimes you committed. Trying to kill me will just add more time to your sentence." Diana said steadying herself.
Simon was out back helping with the gardening; the sun was bright and hot. Wiping the sweat from his brow a message came across his watch he hid under his long sleeve white shirt. He made an excuse to leave for a moment and checked it. Pressing a button, a hologram of Fred appeared, and he looked a bit riled up.
"What is it Fred?" Simon asked concerned.
"Diana is in a full-on fight with Camile. Not to mention the crazy woman knows that Diana is an agent as well. I highly advise you go and assist your partner in her endeavor." Fred said shaking his head.
Simon's eyes went wide, he nodded to Fred and ended the transmission. He took off running only to have to stop and ask Fred where the fight was taking place. Once that was accomplished, he took off running again to the kitchen Fred had told him about. Opening the door, he saw Diana get knock right through a table by Camile. Groaning, Diana looked up at Camile as she grinned but instead of giving up, Diana right hooked her. Simon did not know where she got the strength but once Camile was knocked asway from Diana he grabbed her and threw her into a wall. She collapsed there like a pile of rocks. Running back to Diana, he offered her his arm and he then noticed both were in time suits. He quickly pressed her watch and Diana's dress was back in replace of her suit.
"Are you alright?" he asked genuinely concerned for Diana.
"Tables hurt; I don't care what time period it is." Diana said as she tried to move carefully because her back was in a bit of pain.
"Of that, I have no doubt. What are we going to do with her?"
Both Simon and Diana looked at the passed-out criminal in the corner of the room. They could send her back to face the punishment now...or they could stage something that would make the King lose all favor of her. Thinking hard, they tried to think of the worst thing possible that Camile could be placed in and have the King just happen to see her like that...what would that be?
"We could place her with one of the stable boys." Simon suggested.
"No, that would give her something else to brag about." Diana sighed.
"An enemy perhaps?"
"Which one?"
They paced the room trying to come up with a good situation to just happen to place Lady Camile. However, for the life of them none of them could think of one now. Scratching her head, Diana wondered what would happen if they happened to find a random man of the court and put her in his bed.
"Lord Barsham, he's a new guy. Young, doesn't know the rules therefore if we put her in his bed maybe we could get the King to find her there "waiting" for the Lord to come and entertain her?" Diana said and Simon laughed.
"Perfect, lets get her there first and then what?"
"I will tell my cousin that such a scandal had been discovered at that she and the King should see for themselves so they can pass judgement on the scandal." Diana smiled.
Diana and Simon snuck into Lord Barsham's room and put Camile in the bed. No one else was in the room at the moment and Diana made Simon turn around as she pulled off the top dress of Camile's wardrobe and left her in nothing but her underdress. Outside the door, they both heard footsteps coming their way. Simon grabbed Diana and they both his in the wardrobe as the door opened. Keeping silent they wondered who had entered the room, was it Lord Barsham? Heavy foot steps approached the bed and then they heard a hearty chuckle.
"Not the first time for me to find such a fine young woman in my bed." A male voice spoke somewhat in a whisper as though he weren't trying to wake up Camile.
Simon pointed down and their watches, that would be how they would escape the room. Nodding Diana and Simon pressed their watches at the same time. They then appeared in their own room and both sighed in great relief not to be caught. Diana dusted her dress off and made sure her appearance was well enough to inform her cousin of the tragedy that she had just seen. Simon sat on the bed and kept communication with Fred about what they had just done. On the other side of the communicator they could both hear Fred laughing so hard they feared he might stop breathing.
"Hurry off Diana, the fast she is caught the better." Simon said as he put his hand over his watch muting their part of the conversation.
Nodding, Diana picked up the skirt of her dress and took off out of the room. She made quick haste and ran as fast as she could to her cousins room. The door was opened for her as she rushed in and now it was time to lie to the queen of England in this time as it were. Taking a deep breath, Diana bowed before her cousin who looked at her quite concerned.
"Dear lord cousin, what has you in such a state? Has something happened?" Catherine asked as she walked up to her cousin.
Both Anne and Jane looked concerned for their friend as well. Diana looked up at her cousin with tears in her eyes.
"I heard Lady Camile crying out, I thought she was in trouble and went to aide her but when I did I saw her in bed with Lord Barsham." Diana whimpered unsure the queen would say anything.
"Yet she had the nerve to accuse of my girls for adultery. Is she still there?" The queen asked Diana.
"Yes, I believe so my Queen. I took off as silent as I could, I do not believe either saw me leave the room." She replied as she Queen came and put her hand on Diana's shoulder.
"Thank you cousin, I am sorry you came to see such a sight." The queen said and then left the room with her girls following close behind her.
Anne and Jane bowed their heads in Diana's direction as they quickly followed right behind the queen. Keeping her distance, Diana too followed the crowd as they went right to the King himself. Seeing all the women come in at once, without having been called did draw his attention.
"Has something happened?" The King asked unamused at the suddenness of the women coming and interrupting his business.
"Lady Camile has committed adultery and if you follow us now, I can give you full proof." The queen said as she looked to Diana.
Diana mouthed that the room she would need was Lord Barsham's bed chamber. The King stood from his throne and walked to his wife. For a moment Diana feared he would strike her, instead he went to her and leaned down whispering something into her ear no one else could hear.
"Lord Barsham's bedchamber." The queen replied just loud enough for Diana to hear.
"Lead the way my queen." The king said and Catherine did just that.
