Pain

Diana was reading through the old files that her mother had accumulated over the mission she had with Crissy. Turns out Crissy had been one of the reasons that her mother had to even go back to the American Revolution. She had a similar plan to Camile but it seemed Crissy was willing to kill anyone to make sure her plan worked, even Diana's own mother. Diana flipped through the pages of the file as the Tudor period was still on the screen to her left. The person of focus was Sam, she wanted to make sure he would get back to his old ways. Sitting the file down for a moment, she looked to the screen and saw him on the balcony of his estate, a red rose in hand and looking up to the sky. She thought perhaps he was waiting on a lover or something along those lines.

On closer examination though, she saw his eyes had tears in them. Was he about to cry? Why would he do that? She felt horrible that she never got to tell him a proper good bye or give him the letter that she had written for him on the day she returned. Taking the letter in hand, she made a decision. She had to say good bye. Taking a deep breath she touched her watch and was transported to close by Sam.

"Was it all a dream?" Sam asked the sky as he sighed and looked to the rose in his hand." It felt so real, she was real..."

"I once heard, a dream is a wish your heart makes, when you are fast asleep." Diana spoke softly.

Sam let out a soft chuckle as he turned to look at Diana. Taking the rose in hand, he used it to caress Diana's cheek.

"Dreams can never beat the real thing, hello Diana." Sam sighed as he went to her. "What happened? It's like everyone forgot everything. No one knows who Camile ever was or what was to happen to her."

"That's part of what we a call a ''re write'' we changed the past so that she was no longer in it." Diana admits.

"As well as you or Brendan I mean Simon for that matter. What of the babies? Are they still safe and sound? What wil-" Sam started to which Diana quickly covered his mouth with her hand.

"They are safe, we are fine. You will meet them. This mission has taken a rather large turn of events, I wish I could tell you more but I came back to give you this." Diana said as she pulled out her letter and gave it to him.

"A letter?" he questioned confused.

"That letter tells you as much as I am allowed to tell you, please understand, I can't stay here with you. I love Simon, I always will but that does not mean you do not carry a part of my heart as you have made an impression on mine. You mean a lot to me Sam, please if you ever need me, that letter will tell you how." Diana told Sam as she leaned in and kissed him on his cheek. "A part of me will always be with you."

Turning Diana went to disappear but Sam grabbed her arm and pulled her to him giving her one last deep and passionate kiss. Diana kissed him back as hard as she could, she wanted him to know he meant more to her than a mission. Pulling away they looked into one another's eyes.

"I love you Diana, it will always only be you." Sam admitted.

Diana reappeared at her seat at HQ and saw Simon looking down at her. He didn't look mad, just concerned. Diana was about to speak when Simon bent down and kissed her, carefully placing his hand upon her stomach.

"I love you more." Simon told Diana as he nudged her nose with his and smiled.

"I love you too Simon." Diana admitted in full truth.

They looked at the files before them and knew something was missing. Crissy had to have survived and now she was out for revenge. Still that did not explain who the other blonde woman was that was able to not only stop time but travel through it as well. Suddenly John came through and held up a file in his hand.

"She had children, they've been causing trouble in any time period they can get too! Crissy is out for revenge and she is using her children to recruit other prisoners we kept here. She puts them in a time until they are needed for something, this is big, a lot bigger than we though." John sighed.

Diana looked around and noticed her mothers absence. She knew that her mother would be the first person to want to know any information about Crissy.

"Where is mom?" Diana barely had a chance to asked when the monitor before them light up red.

'INTRUDER ALERT' was written in bold letter across the screen. Fred ran inside and it was easy to tell that he was winded. He held himself up enough to take in a deep breath and let out one sentence.

"She's here, she's got Abigail." Fred managed to sputter out.

Grabbing the gun at her side, Diana was about to move forward when Simon held her back. She glared daggers at him but he held strong as John came up to the group.

"Rushing out there without a plan isn't a good idea, Simon is protecting you and the babies. You know that better than anyone Diana." John tried to get his step daughter to calm down.

"AHAH!" Abigail screamed from somewhere.

"Let me go! I won't let her hurt my mother!" Diana pushed against Simon, who happened to be stronger than he looked.

Simon brought out his gun and lead the way, John knew winging it was not the best idea but the panic sense had already set in. Simon kept a close eye on the hall in front of them. So far all the halls were clear, there were no personnel around only a red light that kept blinking, warning others there was a threat.

''Oh how long I've waited for this Abigail. Death is only temporary if you leave behind the right clues." a female voice chuckled from the room before them.

''What the hell does she mean death is only temporary?" John whispered.

"If she left behind clues to her followers, they could warn her past self and maybe even prevent her death. one of the biggest rules not to break, not that she would follow rules." Diana said as she kept her gun up.

"I'll bust in the door, Diana keep aim on Crissy while John and I will aim for anyone else in the room." Simon sighed.

They didn't know how many people were in the room, this was a suicide mission. One or all of them could be killed on injured. Taking a deep breath, Simon kicked in the door, he turned and took aim on the left, John came in and aimed to the right while Diana aimed dead center. There before them, Crissy had Abigail tied to a chair with a gun to her head.

''Well, she does look like you. Pity, kill her Anne." Crissy said as she looked behind Diana.

Diana didn't have enough time to react when she heard three bullet shots. She two go through her midsection and the final bullet go through her right shoulder. She immediately fell to the ground. Simon turned and shot Anne right in the head or so he thought because she disappeared before his eyes.

"I'll be back for you leader, you daughter's death will do for now." Crissy chuckled and disappeared from view.

"DIANA!" Simon screamed as he ran to her and turned her over.

John rushed past the scene to quickly untie Abigail. Simon saw blood coming from Diana's mouth. Her wounds were bad and he knew it. Simon looked down at her face and tried not to show her any panic, however Diana was better at reading him.

"Get her, don't let Crissy hurt my mom." Diana stuttered.

"No, I won't leave you. You can't ask me to do that." Simon said shaking his head.

Fred rushed in and gasped when he saw Diana on the floor being held by Simon. Abigail finally free rushed over to her daughter and checked her pulse.

"Fred we need to get her to medical bay." Abigail spoke quickly.

"I'll get her there, this is just a distraction Ab's. Crissy is here and she is stealing whatever she can. You have to stop her." Fred said as he went to Diana. "You guys are the only agents here, I have no idea where the others are."

Abigail knew this was a set up, yelling at the top of her lungs she grabbed her gun and walked out of the room with a fury. John followed close behind her as Fred went to hold Diana. She was weak and trying to keep her eyes open, desperate to try and ease Simon's worry.

"You too, I am taking her straight to medical bay. Please, get back to us as soon as you can." Fred said.

"You can't leave me Diana, we just started, our life together can't end like this." Simon pleaded with a very weak Diana.

"It won't please, go help my mom. She doesn't have me for back up right now, she has you. Go Simon, I love you." Diana grinned.

Simon kissed Diana's head before taking off. Fred picked up Diana and quickly rushed her to the medical bay. He was silent as he looked at her injuries. He placed an IV in her because he knew she would need blood. After doing so, he began to clean up the injuries and removed all three bullets but he knew of Diana's condition and feared due to the gun shots, the unborn twins would not make it. Oxygen was placed over Diana's face as Fred continued his work. He began a scan over her pelvic area and his worst fears were imagined, the twins would not make it. The sack was pierced twice. Diana was numb and in a coma so she wouldn't feel a thing but he would have to explain to her and he family that the twins were the casualty of the injuries.

"What's going on?" a male voice called out from behind Fred.

Fred paused his work and turned around to see Sam looking right at him. This man had horrible timing and how the heck did he even manage to get to headquarters.

"Diana's been shot, three times. I got the bullets out and the injuries won't kill...her." Fred said as he went back to stitching her shoulder.

"Who did this?! I will slay them with my sword!" Sam exclaimed.

"Yeah, that won't work against a gun. A gun is what did this to her. I managed to get the bleeding to slow down and give her a transfusion." Fred said as he looked to Sam who looked confused by what he just said. "I fixed her the best I could."

Sam went to Diana and stripped off his fur coat, thing. He had to have come from a different year that Diana had left or at least a different season. Sam looked in wonder as the contraption that was on Diana's face.

"That makes sure that she breathes sort of, I didn't have to do anything to invasive." Fred sighed as he finished the shoulder and started on her first wound in her mid section.

"That...that is where the babies are...."Sam stared down at her pelvic area.

Though her suit was still upon her, Fred had cut bigger holes to allow him to stitch up her wounds. At Sam's word, Fred froze. Would he have to be the one to tell Sam that the babies were no more?
