Missing Guard
With one press of her watch, Diana was back at HQ with both a shocked Fred and her mother looking at her. She had no reason to come back to HQ to them but as she went to the computer an idea came to her head. She began to type something into the computer.
"What is it Diana? You just decided to abandon the mission?" Abigail asked confused as she went to her daughter.
"No, I think this mission has more variables than we thought." Diana answered as she continued to look at the computer screen. "Here it is."
Abigail and Fred looked up at the computer screen and gasped. It was a missing agent page and there on the front was a picture of the man who was now Diana's lover but with a very different name. He was a guard in the time prison and he went missing three months ago but it had never gotten to their level.
"Simon Hatthel, Guard in sector 214. Missing for three months and I found him but his memory is wiped. He was in the last class I taught in defense that is why his face looked familiar to me!" Diana said as she groaned.
"He had a time watch and used it only to go to times and bring prisoners back, someone took it and took him to the time period to hide the evidence." Abigail said as she looked between Diana and Fred.
"Yeah, the chick I am after. I saw her in a time suit. Obviously I think she stole the watch and now she wants to use it to gain power in this time. Not my first choice in a time period to get power if you ask me." Diana shrugged.
"You have to keep him safe, keep him away from her and we need to be smart about this. Lay low for now but when we come up with a foolproof plan then we will call you." Abigail said and Diana nodded.
Just like that she was back in the gardens of Hampton Court. Looking around she was happy to see no one was around which meant she hadn't been seen. Adjusting her dress she walked forward when she heard a loud yelp. Running in the way of the yelp she then saw Lady Camile push Brendan down into a fountain.
"She's not here to help you now is she. She's gonna be gone here soon and you can't help her." Lady Camile threatened Brendan.
That was it! Diana went up and grabbed and handful of her hair and pulled her right down to the ground. She then quickly pulled Brendan up out of the fountain. He coughed up water and looked at Diana completely shocked. Camile wasn't ready to give up though, she then came running at Diana. Pushing Brendan to the side, Diana ducked and Camile went right into the fountain behind her. Brendan went to Dian and stood in front of her in case Camile got out of the water.
"Serves you right! Stay away from my lover!" Diana said as she could hear the sound of footsteps coming their way.
A whole group of women came to the scene and there Diana saw someone who she had been waiting for. A certain brunette woman who wore a necklace with the letter "B" hanging from it. There was Anne! That meant that Camile's days were numbered.
"Someone help her out of the water." The queen said in a flat tone, clearly she didn't care what would happen to the girl.
"My queen, your cousin pushed me into the fountain." Lady Camile cried.
All eyes now went to Diana...oops. Diana was about to speak up when the queen spoke instead.
"No doubt she saw how flushed you were and tried to cool you down, you owe her a debt of kindness, wouldn't you say?" The queen said with a sly smile on her face.
Diana held back a chuckle as she wanted to go up and give her cousin a big hug. She was looking out for her and Diana was beyond grateful for that. No doubt the queen was tired of lady Camile anyway. This was a sort of warning that was sent to her. Camile shook there in front of all the ladies until she finally huffed and ran back to no doubt change her clothes. Smiling Diana watched as the Queen gave her a small smile and a nod as she took her ladies in waiting back inside.
"That was brilliant." Brendan said as he turned to look at her.
There was a sparkle in his eyes, one she had seen when she taught him in class. Saying she had a small crush on him would be correct even before she came to this time and found out he was a missing agent. She smiled and shrugged.
"I didn't wish for any harm to come to you, I feared she would drown you." Diana said as she looked him over.
With his white shirt that was drenched it made things that were once up to the imagination no longer of the imagination anymore. The shirt clung to him. She took his hand and walked all the way back to her room. There she covered him in a large blanket. He stripped in a corner of the room and she hung his wet clothes before the fire. He had nothing, the once fancy clothes he had the day she met him were gone so she decided to get more. Thanks to a butler that her cousin sent her, she sent him off to get suitable clothes for Brendan.
"I know you may think this is strange, but I feel as though we have met before." Brendan said as he warmed himself by the fire, still wrapped up in the large blanket.
Diana kept her mouth shut, she couldn't tell him the truth. That in fact they had met and the crush she had on his was now progressing faster than it had when they worked together.
"I would remember meeting you, of that I have no doubt." She lied as she sat before her vanity and braided her hair for the night.
"Tis true for me, still that does not stop the rush coming from my heart. I feared I was dying the moment you looked upon me for I felt my heart race faster then it ever had." He admitted to her.
Diana turned and looked to Brendan who was still looking at the fireplace. Maybe if she gave him a tiny hint that wouldn't hurt anything? She went over and sat down beside him, turning his face to look at her own.
"Does the name Simon mean anything to you?" she asked in a kind whisper.
He sat there for a moment, she could tell he was truly trying to remember but he shook his head.
"Should I?" he replied.
"No, I suppose not." Diana sighed in defeat.
"I wish I could remember you, if we had ever met that is." Brendan smiled.
This was not good, his memory was that bad? Did he hit his head or did the little harlot actually erase his memory and Fred would only be able to restore said memory with the time watch back on his arm.
The next day, Diana was walking down the hall, about to go and see her cousin. However when she saw Lady Camile heading her way she knew that something was about to happen.
"There's the woman enjoying my ex-husband, forgive him since he had never been that good of a lover." She giggled as she starred Diana down.
Commence lying now.
"Quite the contrary, I have never met a man who could keep me up all night, it is as though his body calls out to my own and we cannot get enough of one another." Diana grinned knowing this would get to her.
It did, Camile face flattened. She did not think Diana would be able to come up with something to embarrass her so quickly. Just as she was about to retort they both heard a new female voice.
"My king." Said a feminine voice.
"Anne, you have just come to Court now. Has thou received my letter?" a deeper male voice asked in reply.
Diana saw as Camile's face dropped. She knew that with Anne there her position as the King's favorite was in trouble. Gulping she picked up her skirts and began to turn around but Diana wanted to scare her deep into her core.
"Do not forget my lady, everyone is replaceable." Diana said with a grin.
Camile took off running, holding her skirts so she could go quicker down the hall.
"Diana, head somewhere we can talk. I have news." Fred called into her ear piece.
Diana went to the deepest part of the north side of the gardens. It was silent there and Diana stopped and waited to hear what Fred would say.
"Ready to hear you Fred." Diana said.
"Great, so your mom has decided to wake up your agent friend, she is sending one of his first watches to you. Strap it on him and within a few minutes his memory will return but then this will be a duo mission. He will still have to pretend to be Brendan but he can assist you with catching the girl off guard and sending her to us. We prefer her be alive." Fred said and a watch appeared in Diana's hand.
"What if when his memories come back, he freaks out or something like that?" Diana asked.
"You can handle it, gotta go." Fred said and ended communication with Diana.
Great, wake up an agent who has had his memory misplaced for three months...what could possibly go wrong there?
