Dungeon
Seeing as it was Diana who brought the accusation to the Queen, the King decided she would be the one to open the door. Diana walked through the small crowd gathered outside the door. Taking a deep breath and saying a small prayer she opened the door. Never in a million years did she expect the sight that befell her. Lady Camile was still there, in the embrace of Lord Barsham and even with the door open they did not stop their loving exposure. Diana moved to the side as the King burst in with an angry and loud boom.
"WHAT IS THE MEANING OF THIS?!" The King's voice was so loud, the echo in the room was one Diana had never heard before.
The two in bed paused their embrace and looked up at the King. Each of them paled knowing not only had they been caught, but caught by the king himself. Diana raised her eye brow a small challenge at Camile who gasped and pushed a naked Barsham off her. Quickly covering herself with the sheet. Diana wondered how she would get herself out of this one. Gulping, Camile quickly came up with a lie.
"I thought he was you my king, forgive me, I must have had too much of the drink and did not know where or to whom I was laying with." Camile cried.
Rolling her eyes, Diana sighed as she looked to the King. He still looked angry but he did take a breath in before he spoke again, however he didn't get a chance to.
"Likely story, though one I know his royal highness shall not believe. Quite hypocritical as well." The queen spoke in a deathly serious tone.
The King nodded in agreement with his wife, the queen.
"Put them both in irons. They will be trailed and be dealt with properly." The king said and two guards came forward with irons in their hands.
Camile had the sheet wrapped around her like a dress as she cried and begged for the King's forgiveness. It was fallen upon deaf ears, none cared what she had to say. Lord Barsham on the other hand just laugh as he was put in irons and led out of the room, all the while still completely naked. The women looked away as he walked past them. Then the guard led Camile out as well.
"You won't get away with this." Camile yelled and Diana knew the words were meant for her.
The queen turned and smiled to her cousin.
"Well done Diana, you are very useful." The Queen smiled and walked off with her ladies.
"My Queen." Diana bowed and waited for them to leave.
Once they were gone, she went back to her room and saw Simon on the bed looking down at something. Her shutting the door made him look up curious at her. She knew he wondered if the plan worked.
"How'd it go?" Simon asked moving off the bed and right to her side.
"Well, when I opened the door to show the king...they were both in a romantic embrace." Diana giggled.
"The king and Queen?" Simon asked shocked.
"No, Camile and Lord Barsham. They were actually in the middle of intercourse. The King was not happy." Diana blushed.
Simon's eyes went wide. Then he burst out laughing.
"Oh my lord, I can't believe it! She does get around doesn't she?" he chuckled.
"What were you looking at before?"
Simon smiled and held up a watch in his hand.
"I got my watch off her, she didn't even notice did she? Without this she is hardly a threat anymore." Simon said handing Diana the watch.
"Brilliant, great job Simon. We still have to take her to HQ though, she has to be processed for her crimes." Diana shrugged as she looked at the watch.
"I know, but still, she can't switch to our suit or use any weapons from the future, that at least gives us a head up." Simon spoke as there was a knock at the door.
Simon hid the watch, Diana looked to the door and spoke loudly for whoever it was to enter. The door opened and there stood another ladies maid though she did not know which one because she had never met her before.
"Forgive my intrusion, the queen has been told that Lady Camile wished to confess her crimes, but she will only do so to you. She is in the dungeon and awaits to confess to you and then the Queen wishes to know exactly what she told you." The lady said and gave a small bow waiting on Diana's next instruction.
"Thank you, wait for me outside and you can lead me down." Diana responded.
The Lady nodded and left the room, closing the door behind her.
"This could be a trap, though I don't know what she plans to do. She doesn't have the watch anymore and it's doubtful anyone would trust a word spoken out of her mouth." Simon said as he walked to Diana.
"True, though I must admit she is sneaky. I will go and see what she has to say. After that I will tell my cousin and then come back and see what you make of her words, I cannot delay though, please stay here and I will return soon." Diana spoke in a firm yet kind manner.
Walking out the door, she followed the lady who was waiting for her. She was led down into the dungeons and she could see all manner of people down there. She dared not describe the sight before her eyes or else she feared she would lose what little food was in her stomach. Coming to a cell, the lady bowed again and informed her that she would be waiting at the start of the hall. Diana investigated the cell and saw Camile was kneeling before a bench and looking out a window.
"What have you called upon me for? Any explanations should be given to the king, queen or perhaps god?" Diana said as she looked around the small dungeon cell Camile was in.
"No luck, she will not speak a word. The only reason you were wanted down here was to waste your time." A male voice spoke from behind Diana.
Turning around she saw it was Lord Barsham, he was in a peasant top and black pants. He looked her right in her eyes, his long black hair blocked some of his facial features but still she had to admit the man before her was handsome. No wonder people were convinced that Camile would sleep with him.
"Then there is no reason to waste my time here." Diana said about to leave but he called out to her again.
"So you are Diana? The cousin of the queen and the one woman in court who shows no interest in the men, no matter their position or stature?" he asked as he moved to stand up.
"You speak as though I know every little gossip about myself, all idle chatter spread by women who still have not come into their own I assure you." Diana replied as she looked over her shoulder at the Lord unamused by his words.
That reply made the lord smile at Diana. She furrowed at him, why was he looking at her in such a way. He moved farther down his cell until he looked right at Diana.
"Yet the rumors are true, you've only taken one lover and shown no interest with men that have titles." He challenged her.
Diana tilted her head as she looked at the young Lord.
"Men with titles are as amusing as a child who gets jealous when they must share their favorite toy." Diana retorted but all the lord did was smile again.
"He just wants to get under your dress." Camile finally spoke from her cell. "She'll never have you my lord, you are not her breed, she prefers men who have been broken so she can rebuild them."
"Lady Camile, you are the trampiest of the ladies here, you have truly ridden by every man possible beside the King himself, he will not have you after he saw your display with me." The Lord chuckled and looked to Camile's cell.
Though it was dark, Diana could see that Camile's face was bright red, what that lord had just said struck a chord with her. She gripped the iron bars of her cell with her bare hand and looked right at the lord. Diana stood by and watched to see what would happen next.
"You can't have Diana, she's not from here-"Camile started only to have the Lord interrupt her.
"That is quite obvious, I suggest you keep your mouth shut for the guards are listening and anything you say will not bode well for you."
Diana looked behind her and saw the lord was right, two men were waiting. They wanted to see what Camile would confess to her, no doubt so they could tell the King themselves. They back away just a bit, once she could not see them as well Diana turned back to the Lord Barsham.
"My lord, you take many things into course however do you not worry about your own status here in the dungeons as well?" Diana posed her question at the man behind bars.
"I would if I cared as much, she isn't a favorite so maybe I will live but I doubt she will." The Barsham said as he went back to Diana. "You are a beauty any man would die for, that is what drives her mad."
