He opened the door and stepped back as Jewel stepped in, followed closely by a guy dressed in a suit.

Jeremy sighed, "yeah just come right in"

Jewel flopped down on his bed, "I can't take this anymore"

Jeremy raised an eyebrow, "take what?

She gestured to the suit guy sitting next to her, with a lovestruck look on his face, "him"

Jeremy smirked, "I don't see the problem, Jenna always thought he was hot stuff and honestly I agree"

Jewel glared at him, "well me and my sister have very different tastes, I just want to be left alone but Adam here, doesn't seem to be able to take a hint."

"So, you came here?"

"You seem to be good at getting people to stay away from you"

"I can't believe we're friends"

"Me either, now can you help me get him off my back?"

Jeremy settled down in his favourite armchair, "Okay tell me what happened, from the beginning"

Jewel took a deep breath, "I was at the library, picking out some amazing books to read since I have a long weekend and I walk out and see Adam across the street. The next thing I know, he's running across traffic to get to me, and he tells me he's in love with me and I'm the most beautiful girl in the world."

Jeremy shrugged, "Adam's always been a liar"

Jewel rolled her eyes. "haha, very funny. You know what's even funnier? I haven't had a minute to myself since then, he follows me around like a puppy."

Jeremy glanced at Adam who was still staring at Jewel with pure adoration in his eyes, "yeah, something is definitely wrong."

"You think? We never had a single conversation before today and I liked it that way."

"I get what you're saying" Jeremy cocked his head, "but are you sure you want to fix this? Adam is the most popular guy in high school and he's pretty easy on the eyes too"

"Yes, I'm sure, he's not my type anyway"

"Right, I forgot, your type is guys who don't exist"

"Mostly" Jewel muttered, "I just want Adam to leave me alone"

Jeremy grabbed his coat, "Okay well, I don't think a regular doctor will help, we need some extra help for this"

Jewel got up, with Adam following suit, "lead the way"

Jewel exchanged a glance with Jeremy as the man in front of them laughed till there were tears in his eyes. She handed him a tissue as soon as he was done with his laughing fit, "so what? Can you help me?"

The man dabbed at his eyes, "I can't believe you haven't figured out the problem yet, its staring at you right in the face"

Jewel forced a smile, "why don't you humour me?"

He leaned back in his chair, "it's a love spell obviously, someone put a love spell on him"

"A love spell?" Jeremy said in disbelief, "who would do that?"

Jewel bit her lip nervously, "who cares, just tell me how to fix it"

The man grinned, "it's not that easy, there's a reason why love spells are super illegal"

"There must be some way"

"There is, all you need is the hair of the spell caster and a true love's kiss"

Jewel sighed, "well the true love's kiss is easy, Adam has a girlfriend, but we still don't know who hates me enough to cast the spell on him."

Jeremy shrugged, "we just have to make a list of all your enemies" he looked at the man, "can I have five sheets of A4 size paper?"

Jewel gave him a dirty look before walking out of the room, Adam in tow. Jeremy slid a couple of notes across the table, "what are we supposed to do with the hair?"

"Just put it in his pocket while he gets the true love kiss"

"Thanks"

The man put the notes into the drawer, "why are you even here? Isn't it her problem? Trust me, breaking the spell isn't going to be easy"

"I know"

"I'm sure its Angela, ever since I told her that her pot pies sucked, she's had it in for me"

"You really should stop making enemies wherever you go"

"Well, she shouldn't have destroyed the chocolate cake you made for the party"

"Is that why you said that to her?"

Jewel turned back to her book, "no, it's because I hate her perfume"

Jeremy smiled and added Angela's name to the list, "Okay we have thirty names, we need to narrow it down."

Jewel took the paper and scanned it, "I do have a lot of enemies" she kept it down, "I'm going to need some help with this"

"We should call Jenna" Jeremy suggested, "who's going to know you better than your own twin?"

"You" Jewel said, simply, "but sure we'll call her"

Thirty minutes later, Jenna walked in, looking surprised, "You called?"

"Yeah, I need your help"

"Oh" Jenna said tentatively, "you need my help?"

Jewel narrowed her eyes, "what's wrong with you?"

"Nothing" Jenna said, "you just don't call me very often"

Jewel looked embarrassed, "I just haven't had a lot of free time"

"Sure" Jenna picked up the list, "what's this for?"

"Well, someone cast a love spell on Adam and now he won't stop following me around and we need to figure out who"

Jenna's head whipped up, "Adam's here?"

"Yeah, he's searching for a book that doesn't exist" Jeremy said, he paused, "Jenna, are you okay?"

Jenna swallowed, "uh, I"

Jewel stood up, "oh my god, it was you"

Jenna looked down, "I didn't mean for it to happen to you, I just wanted Adam to like me, you know"

"This is unbelievable"

Jeremy looked at the two sisters, "I'm going to take a walk"

"We don't have time" Jewel said through gritted teeth, "we need to get Adam his true love's kiss now that we have the spell caster's hair"

She stalked out of the room with Adam on her heels. Jeremy gave Jenna a sympathetic glance and followed her.

The blonde girl who opened the door did not look happy to see Adam which should have been Jewel's first clue.

"What do you want?" she said, clearly addressing Adam.

"I love her" he said, putting his arm around Jewel, who looked like she was going to puke.

"Good for you" she said, glaring at him, "got to say, you have some nerve coming here with the girl you've been cheating on me for a month with"

Jeremy sighed, "please tell me you guys haven't broken up"

"We did, a week ago"

Jewel pushed her hair behind her "I don't suppose you're still in love with him"

"No, I'm not" she looked closely at him, "why does he look like that"

"it's a love spell" Jenna said, miserably, "I'm sorry this is my fault"

"You cast a love spell on my boyfriend?"

"Ex-boyfriend" Jeremy offered helpfully.

"I don't care," she took a step towards Jenna, "you're the reason he cheated?"

"I..."

"You wanted to get your claws into him for a long time huh, well now I know why Brad dumped you at his birthday party, he couldn't wait to get rid of..."

"Hey back off" Jewel stepped in front of her sister, "the spell was cast yesterday okay, which means your ex is still a grade A douchebag. I think we're done here"

The blonde girl glared at Jenna one last time and then stalked back in and slammed the door.

Jewel turned to her sister, "why didn't you tell me Brad dumped you?"

Jenna looked away, "Wasn't a big deal, I just wasn't popular enough for him" she chuckled bitterly, "At least I got to eat birthday cake before he told me he didn't love me anymore, in front of everyone"

"I'm so sorry"

"I don't even like Adam, I just wanted to get back at Brad and make him realise he dumped the girl the most popular guy in school was after"

Jewel smiled, "you know what we should do? We should go clothes shopping together, we're going to make Brad regret his 18th birthday till the day he dies"

Jenna smiled back, "I'd like that"

"You can be the bridesmaid at our wedding" Adam said suddenly, "we have so much to plan"

Jewel ran her hand across her face, "I am so screwed, I don't think Adam has ever loved anyone"

Jeremy stepped forward, "Jewel do you trust me?"

"Well not when you say it like that"

He looked her in the eye, "I'm serious"

She paused, "yes, I do"

He pulled her close and kissed her, giving in to twelve years of pining, familiarity and love. And she kissed him back, for once letting her heart rule instead of her head. They pulled apart finally, smiling as Adam looked around in confusion, "what the hell?"

Jenna crossed her arms, "took you guys long enough"
