Nightmares and Bad Memories
Benton ran every possible test on Dia. Tracing a powerful energy radiating from her body. As if that energy been with her all her life, as far back as infant. He wanted to get a sample of blood to get a better analysis of the energy. Leonidas then snarled at the man. HOW DARE HE SUGGEST THAT!! He then grabbed Dia. Taking her away before letting this man turn his precious partner into a lab rat. Not how he had spend for two long years in the hands of Marduk. He rather be destroyed before he ever allowed Dia to suffer a similar fate!
NO ONE SHALL DO THAT TO EITHER OF THEM! NEVER WHILE HE WAS STILL ALIVE!!
Surprising Dan and Benton with his human disguise, looking entirely like a human being except the small version of his wings that popped out of his back. Taking Dia into his arms before taking her back home. Dia thrashed a few times in his arms. Her face riddled with fear while sweat drenched her face. A strange energy could be felt pulsing through her being. A dark surge of what seemed like "Diamond Justice" but darker.
Leo knew that expression all too well. One that tells of past traumas which the brain allows to slip out in sleep. Harmful illusions that fool the mind as a "dream". He tried to coax her awake but to no avail. This was worrisome since he could always wake her up.
Even that time when Dia was exchausted from three days without sleep. Just a whisper in the ear, and the girl jolt up like she had had been struck by lightning.
"Is this because of "Diamond Justice"? Please Dia be strong...." Leonidas brought Dia close to his heart. "Do not all "Them" to win! You are no longer alone. You have me to shoulder your pains that you store deep into your heart. Marduk may have hurt me, but you are NOT him! Dia, my dear "Diamond Queen" please wake up" Leo pleaded. Flying straight to Jasper's.
Jasper may be able to help her. He knows her much longer since she was his niece. Humans were so much frailer than Bakugan. They had a lower pain tolerance than Bakugan. Thus they had ways to handle pains such as this. At least he hoped so.
This got the attention of someone nearby. Seeing the flying human carrying Dia caused them to worry. Tracking their scent, Lightning ran after the two as quickly as his legs could carry him.
Leo gave Jasper a detailed explanation which he excluded Marduk from it. It was already heartbreaking for Dia. He never shall her tremble with sorrow and betrayal like that. Her eyes filled with such hatred and uncertainties that could have conflicted with the brawl if she allow them too. How she didn't allow them to cloud her brawling was a strong sense of her character. Though those walls can only hold back the pain for so long. Her brother being the sole culprit in her suffering, Leonidas's tormentor for two years. He could at least spare the man who welcomed him into his family. What mattered most right now was Diana safety.
"I'll keep watch over her" Leo told Jasper who made Dia comfortable in her room. He looked the most worried than the dragon Bakugan ever saw him.
Leo claws dugged deep into his arms as he looked like he witnessed something that fifty sessions of therapy wouldn't fix.
"Call me the moment she wakes up please" Jasper left to prepare a fresh pot of coffee. They would need about five of them.
While in the kitchen, Jasper heard a scratching sound at the front door. Odd since it was far too late for any kids to be out. He went over to check who could be up at such a late hour. He was certainly surprised to see a french bulldog in front of him, whimpering in worry. He recalled that Dia mentioning that one of the Awesome Ones members was a dog. He never expected a tiny dog like this.
His owner must be worried. Wait did he have an owner? Should he call the Awesome Ones? He should ask Dia about this once she wakes up.
"You're Lightning huh? Isn't it a bit late for you to be wondering this late?" Jasper patted the dog's head.
He was no dog whisper but he could read Lightning face like a book. A smile appeared on his face.
"Come in. Dia is resting upstairs. Leo will let you in" Jasper then returned to the kitchen, making snacks for the three of them.
There Leonidas opened the door for the dog. Not really greeting the canine friend like he would normal. Not that Lightning expected him to. With all things considered, it seemed okay this time.
"Leonidas, you are human?!" Howlkor asked in disbelief. A human who has the ability to become a Bakugan?!
JUST HOW IN VESTORIA IS THAT POSSIBLE?!
Leonidas sighed before his eyes glowed, in a blinding light is when when to his small form. "It's my human disguise"
"Oh..." Howlkor felt a bit embarrassed. That seemed more obvious than a human being able to transform into a Bakugan.
Lightning jumped on the bed. He whimpered in worried as he watched Dia was crying in sleep. He nuzzled his forehead in an attempt to wake her up.
By some miracle, Dia woke up. She jolted up so fast that Lightning nearly went flying. Tears streamed down her face like a heavy rain shower were her tear ducts. Her hands trembled greatly as her shaky breaths escaped her lungs.
"Dia!" Leonidas felt a wave of relief wash over him. She woke up. He never was so happy to see her wake up.
NOW HE WOULD PUSH HER FOR SOME ANSWERS.
Sorry Jasper. This guardian Bakugan needs a much needed talk with his partner.
"Leo....I..I.." Dia struggled to speak words. As if she was being silenced by a powerful sorcerer.
"We are going to have a talk miss. It's clear that I am not the only one with a past. DO NOT try to deny this either. You been hinting it for a while now. I want to know who I have to BEAT that caused you this much pain. Lightning can't talk so he is won't tell. SO PLEASE....please let me in...." The diamond dragon pleaded.
Dia looked like he was asking her to unlock a forbidden chest of unparallel curses. Though Leo had a point. She had been keeping it in for a long time. It is time for the dark past of Originization Adventura and the nine years of torment they put her through. Dia held Lightning for comfort before telling her tale.
"When I was born....the Great Collision hit the hospital I was born in. There was where I got my streak" She looked at her diamond streak. "Then a group of people came to get me. Telling my parents that I had been exposed to some new illness, having take me to find a "cure". When in realty, all wanted was a weapon...." Dia held on to Lightning as more tears started to fall from her cheeks.
"Don't tell me...." Leonidas could feel his anger spike.
WERE THESE HUMANS SO INHUMANE THAT THEY PUT A CHILD THROUGH WHAT HE WENT TO?! SHE IS A CHILD! NOT A WEAPON!!
"They kept me in a hospital like room to run every test on me. Injecting me with some kind of sense duller to make me more willing to comply. The leader of the originization called me his "Diamond Pearl". A....tool used....to hurt...." Dia had to pause since she was holding back a sob. She was trying so hard to keep from sobbing.
Leonidas snarled at that. "WHAT?! WHERE IS HE?! I WILL RIP HIM TO SHREDS! LEAVE NO TRACE!! NO ONE MESSES WITH MY DEAR PARTNER" Howlkor couldn't help, but smiles at that.
Leonidas really had grown. Though he agreed that a man like that should pay for his crimes.
"Nine years.....Nine years....I was their experimental warrior with a power they wanted to harness to HURT anything that they found threatening...My days were tests and training....nothing more" Dia shivered at the memories that played in her mind.
How the leader would put her in an enclosed room with a rogue Webam they enraged with a fog like vapor that they had developed. No partner Bakugan was given to her. She was ordered to take it down. This was one of the many tests that they put her through. Attempts to goat out the power they knew laid dormant in her. Sadly for them, Dia preferred to get injured than be their pawn. Though the leader fixed that with a vapor like smell which was made solely to effect his "Warrior".
"Where were your parents in all this?! They had to have known how suspicious that sounded! Why aren't they here with you?!" Leonidas felt his anger boil more as that thought crossed his mind.
Dia fell silent once he asked that. Leonidas then went quiet too, he felt that he may have overstepped there.
"Dia I-" Dia cut him off with a finger over Leonidas mouth.
"The leader made arrangements that whenever my folks tried to visit....I was too "sick" to make an appearance. Using forged medical charts and documents to sway them that my condition wasn't improving....all to keep me under their control" Dia answered solemnly. "Though I don't really know them well since the orginization took me after I was six months old"
That gave the others a painful shock in the heart. To not know one's parents is one thing, but to be taken away all for the benefit of becoming a soldier to fight against Bakugan? Truly monstrous. Worse is the fact that her parents ever raised suspicion either.
"How did you get out?" Howlkor asked the question that all of them were thinking.
Dia tried her tears before gazing at a picture. The others followed her gaze. On the wall of the right side of her room, just close by the wall was a hand drawn picture. Lightning and Howlkor eyes widen upon looking at it. It was a golden yellow bird that appeared to be the mythical bird the phoenix. There the bird was greeting the girl in a welcoming embraced in the picture. As if telling the girl that soon all will be alright. There another godly enity was behind the girl. A guardian of some sorts. A humaniod giant who shone like diamonds.
Pyravian and a Diamond Bakugan meeting with a young Dia for the first time.
"I don't recall much about what happened, but I will never forget that image" She smiled at the picture. "The day that the golden phoenix told me that I would be saved soon"
A golden Bakugan met with Dia to say that someone would save her? Who was it that saved her?
Leonidas already had a good idea who the mystery individual was. It makes sense if Marduk was the one who saved her.
"Was it Marduk?" Leonidas could feel Dia heart skip a beat.
Dia nodded. "Yes. A week after my ninth birthday was when Marduk saved me. He somehow managed to find me, and he destroyed all the data they took of me. He comforted me as he made those scientists and so called "Doctors" that day. The orginization completely burned to the ground. Then Marduk took me to live with Uncle Jasper. He lived with us for ten months. To make sure that I was alright" She then held out her necklace.
The dragon necklace appeated to hold many dear memories for the two siblings. Tales of recovery of a young girl who escaped a prison that was beyond anyone's imagination. How she went throught so many trials to smile again. To be able to walk outside again without constantly looking over her shoulder, in fear that she would be dragged back in that situation again.
Though from what just happened between the two siblings is troubling. Dia began to question if her feelings truly mattered to her brother anymore. He saw what "Adventura" tried to mold her into, yet he still tried to do that to her partner?! It torn at her head and heart.
WHY?! JUST WHY WAS HE DOING THIS?! DID HE WANT TO BE LIKE THAT SICKO LEADER OF ADVENTURA?! SHE COULDN'T UNDERSTAND!!!
Dia just could not understand. She wanted to scream out her frustrations in a feral like cry. Cry her eyes out till they were as dry as the sands of a desert. All she wants is to be rid of this pain. First Adventura, being framed, now this?! Just how much pain can her heart take? How long can it hold out before it burst through from the pressure.
She felt so alone. Just like the sobbing little girl in the solitude room that "Adventura" put her in. A puppet who strings were pulled to do what they told her to. She felt as if she were the last of a dying species.
Then a two pairs of arms embraced her in a strong hug. She looked up to see Jasper who arrived with snacks. He only had to look at his sobbing and distressed niece before giving her comfort. He held her in a tight embrace while whispering soothing words in her ear. Leo went into his human disguise to help comfort his partner. He wasn't really the most comforting type, he was a warrior not a hugger. He hated to see Dia in pain like this. Thus he do his best to give this poor girl a hug.
HOWLKOR SAW NOTHING AND HEARD NOTHING! THIS WAS A SECRET TILL DIA WAS READY TO SHARE WITH THE OTHERS! GOT IT YOU THREE HEADED MUTT!!
They let her rest before they decided what do tomorrow. Lightning was allowed to stay the night. After all what isn't more comforting than an animal buddy.
Leonidas stayed up as the others were sleeping away. He could barely keep from roaring in anger at the night sky. He had to contain the willpower not to go on a manhunt for those "Monsters"! The day will come soon.
HE WOULD MAKE THEM PAY FOR THE PAIN THEY CAUSED HER!
Marduk also had some things he needed to answer for. A much needed chat would be needed for how Dia state was now. How could he put her through all of that, after all his sister went through.
His diamond eyes fell on the picture that Dia had smiled at. A golden Bakugan had given her news of her escape. Possibly comforted her beforehand. That was what Leonidas was thankful for.
If that Bakugan was still around then he thank them on his hands and knees. Hopefully he meet that Bakugan one of these days.
