21- Coma
Levi's POV
It's been two years already, and (f/n) still hasn't woken up yet.
I felt empty and broken without her here. Shitty glasses keeps reassuring me that she'll wake up soon, but I'm starting to lose hope.
I never even forgave Petra, how could I after what she did? She obviously went insane to do such a thing to my fragile little (f/n).
Every night I would sit in her infirmary room, in hope she would awaken. I also slept in the infirmary room, on a chair next to her bed.
She was okay now, all she just needs to do, is wake up from her coma.
It just became a new year a few months ago, it was now 850. If she doesn't wake up for another four months, it'll officially be three years since I've last seen her.
Hanji came in earlier and talked to me about her Titan shifting power, and the healing process.
She said something must've happened for her to take even longer to heal. It should've only taken her about a week, at most. But clearly, it's been longer.
Right now, I just sat down next to (f/n) and held her hand in mine. Quietly sighing to myself, I closed my eyes to rest a little.
It was after midnight, so I could definitely use some down time.
Not even ten minutes later, I started to hear some stirring around.
Opening one eye, I saw the hand that I was holding, start to twitch.
"(F/n)...?" I whispered, furrowing my brows at her.
Soon enough, her eyes fluttered open.
"Oh my...-(f/n)!" I shouted, not giving a care in the world.
She must have not been able to see that well since her eyes were squinted and moving all over the place.
"(F/n), can you hear me?" I asked, tears already brimming my eyes.
A slight and subtle nod of her head was her only reply.
Sitting back down and coving my eyes, I let the tears spill out as my grip on her hand got tighter.
My shoulders were shaking from my sobs. I honestly didn't give a fucking shit that I was crying, I was just glad that she was finally back.
Wiping away some of the tears, I looked back at her and couldn't help the smile on my face grow even wider.
"(F-f/n), can you see now? Are you okay?"
Another small nod was received.
I stood up and leaned over, and kissed her forehead.
When I pulled away, she continued to stay silent and slowly look around everywhere. She must be confused.
"Do you remember what happened?"
She didn't respond for a moment, but she soon gave a nod.
"Can you talk? Please tell me you can talk..." I started to get nervous and worried that something might be wrong with her voice.
She weakly lifted up a hand, and put it over her neck. What was she trying to say?
"(F/n), what is it? Do you need Hanji?"
She shook her head "no", thank the walls. But then it hit me.
"Oh! Are you thirsty?"
She nodded.
"Okay, I'll be right back then."
I walked out into the hallway and made my way down to the mess hall to get her a glass of water.
When I returned, nothing changed, she was still just moving her eyes around.
A small chuckle left my mouth as I looked at her face, she didn't look that amused.
"Here, I'll help you sit up." I set the glass down on the table beside he bed and held one of her hands.
I put my other hand behind her back and carefully pulled her up into a sitting position. Taking an extra pillow, I put it behind her for support.
Grabbing the glass again, I handed it over to her and helped her take a sip since her hands were shaking.
"Did you want anything to eat before I go to bed?"
She nodded after a moment of thinking.
"Alright, I'll bring some soup." She nodded again, and attempted to lie down.
Before I was out the door, I ran back over to her side to stop her.
"No no no no no no, (f/n)! Please be careful!" I helped her lie back down so she wouldn't hurt herself.
When she seemed situated, I left the room again to get her soup.
I came back with (f/n)'s soup and of course, I obviously helped her with it by feeding her.
By the time she finished the soup, I noticed she looked a bit tired. Interesting, considering she's been asleep for two years straight.
"Hey, did you want to sleep?"
She responded with her casual nod, and she scooted over.
I cocked my head to the side, wondering what she was doing.
She kept looking from the bed to me before it finally clicked.
"You want me to sleep next to you?"
A small grin appeared on her lips, which I took as a yes.
I lied down on the bed next to her as she laid her head down on my shoulder.
It didn't take that long for her to fall asleep, concealing her beautiful (e/c) eyes, which I always loved to look at.
I did have that fear that she wouldn't wake up again in the morning, but I have to think positively.
"I love you." I whispered, shutting my eyes as well.
I could have sworn that I heard her reply before I was consumed by slumber.
*Morning*
I woke up pretty early, so I checked up on (f/n). She was still sleeping peacefully. I hate to leave her and have her wake up without me, but I have to do paperwork for Erwin.
I successfully made it off of the bed without waking her up, so I left and went to go tell Hanji that she woke up last night.
Time Skip
While I was in my office doing paperwork, I heard a knock on the door.
"Name and business." I called out.
No one responded, but instead just let themselves in. Which happened to be Hanji.
"Why aren't you with (f/n)?" Was the first thing I asked when I realized it was her.
"Because I wanted to talk to you about her." She said, sitting down on a chair across from my desk.
I gave a look that said to continue.
"Well, she woke up again. So no need to worry. And I think she'll be ready to get out of bed by next week." She smiled.
I let out a sigh of relief, I was so worried, again.
"Has she spoken to you at all?"
"Um...actually, no. She hasn't." Hanji frowned.
"Hm. She didn't talk to me last night either." I mumbled, trying to think of why she wouldn't talk.
"Her throat could just be sore. Or maybe she isn't in the mood, you never know." She shrugged.
"You've got a point there." I muttered.
"Well I'm going to go, I recommend you come and visit her as soon as you can. I can tell she really misses you." Hanji smiled, getting up from the chair and leaving.
I smiled to myself, trying to finish the rest so I could go and visit (f/n) again.
Time Skip
When I finished, I quickly made my way down to the infirmary. Right when I walked in, (f/n)'s eyes lit up and a smile spread on her face.
"Hey, how are you feeling?" I asked, sitting next to her.
She looked down, which concerned me.
"(F/n)?" I lifted her chin and saw tears in her eyes.
"What's wrong?!" My eyes widened.
She shook her head and wrapped me in a tight hug as she let her tears go.
"...I-...I love y-ou..." Her throat was raspy. "I love you too." I whispered, glad that nothing was wrong with her voice.
"Thank...you for n-not...leaving me...w-while I was...in my coma." She choked out.
"I would never leave you, (f/n). I love you too much." I rubbed her back to soothe her.
"Listen, Petra and Gunther are coming to see you soon." I sighed, feeling her hands clench on to the back of my jacket.
"W-why?" She asked.
"They wanted to apologize for what they did to you." I answered, feeling her nod against my shoulder.
Time Skip
A soft knock was heard on the door, so I got up to answer it.
Petra and Gunther stood there in the doorway, each holding a small bouquet of flowers.
Setting the flowers on the table next to her, they then stood at the foot of her bed.
I stood next to (f/n), wanting to make sure that Petra wouldn't attack her again.
"(F-f/n), I'm so sor-ry!" Petra sobbed.
"I-I didn't mean to h-urt you and d-do this to you! I swear!"
Petra ran over to (f/n)'s side, which startled (f/n) and made her try to get away. It also made me jump and try to grab Petra before she could even touch her.
But Petra was fast enough to get to (f/n), and all she did was engulf her in a hug, catching (f/n) and I by surprise.
"I m-missed you so much! (F/n), I'm so sorry, w-ill you forgive me?" Petra cried on her shoulder.
(F/n)'s eyes darted back and forth until I noticed that they started to get glossy. Her eyebrows furrowed and her eyes squinted before closing them.
(F/n)'s back and shoulders started to shake as she nodded her head "yes".
Petra soon pulled away and wiped away the tears that were on (f/n)'s cheeks.
"I'm sorry." She whispered again, kissing her forehead which made (f/n) giggle.
She walked back over to Gunther and nudged his arm with her elbow, wiping away her tears as well.
"(F/n) I wanted to say I'm sorry for everything that I've done. Like violating you a couple of times..." He blushed.
Wait...what is he talking about?!
"We'll tell you about your ring and the Titan shifting thing." Petra sighed.
"Basically what happened was, we were the ones who stole your ring. It was really Petra because you share the room. But she gave it to me so it would distract you and make you not really think about anything else before I would inject you." Gunther started.
"He liked you, and wanted to make sure that nothing would ever happen to you...so that's when he injected you with the Titan shifting stuff. I tried to talk him out of it, but he refused. Heck, I don't even know where he got it from!" Petra finished.
"When did you inject her?" I asked, not having a single clue that it was them that did it.
"After the assembly about the Shiganshina breach. It was when (f/n) and you had headaches and went back to rest. I snuck into her room when she was asleep and gave her the stuff. It was only because I cared about her...and I didn't want anything to happen. I'm sorry, sir."
"You shouldn't be apologizing to me, you should be apologizing to (f/n)."
"(F/n)...do you forgive me?" Gunther asked.
She hesitantly nodded her head and waved her hand, signaling for him to come over.
He walked over to her and she gave him a hug which he wasn't expecting.
Gunther looked up at me as I glared at him.
"We're talking about this violation later." I mouthed, making him tense up and widen his eyes before nodding.
"The question is, where did you get this stuff from?" I asked.
"From my uncle..." He answered.
"Who's your uncle?"
"His name is Grisha Jaeger. He's a doctor."
When they both left, it was only me and (f/n) now.
"Hey, y'know you missed your birthday twice while you were out. Tch, you're twenty one now." I smirked.
"Wow...wait...that m-eans you're twenty four now! We got old!" She chuckled.
"Here, I got you this." I said, pulling something out of my pocket.
"What i-is it?" She asked.
I pulled out a chain necklace that had the wings of freedom symbol on it.
I put it on her and she looked at the symbol as a smile formed.
"It's b-beautiful! Thank y-you so much!" She gave me a peck on the lips and a hug.
*Five months later*
(F/n)'s POV
Earlier today, we were in the courthouse because apparently a young teenage boy in the trainees has the ability to transform into a Titan. Much like me.
Levi had to basically beat the shit out of him just so we, the Scouts, could have custody over him.
Right now, we were in a room while Hanji cleaned up his bruises that Levi left on him.
I walked over to him, deciding I should introduce myself.
"Hi, your name's Eren, right? I'm (f/n) (l/n)." I smiled, holding out a hand.
"Y-yeah, I'm Eren. It's nice to meet you." He grabbed my hand, shaking it.
"So...how are you able to turn into a Titan? Like...were you given a shot?" I asked, taking a seat next to him.
"U-um...I don't know..." He mumbled, looking away. "Why do you ask?" He looked back over at me.
"Because I'm also a Titan shifter...but no one outside of the scouts knows. And that's how I have the power, I was given a shot from one of my comrades." I answered.
"How was he able to get ahold of something like that?" Eren lifted an eyebrow.
"I think he said he got it from his uncle...who's a doctor." I shrugged.
"Oh." Was all Eren said.
Out of nowhere, Levi sat in between us, making Eren flinch.
He asked Eren if he was mad at Levi for hurting him. Which thankfully, he wasn't.
Hanji held out a cloth with a tooth on it and told Levi that he knocked out one of Eren's teeth.
She then looked inside Eren's mouth and was surprised by something.
Then she said that his tooth grew back...?
