1- Reunited
Third person POV
A twelve year old (f/n) walked down the streets of the underground. She didn't really have any friends, besides three kids around her age.
Named Isabel, Farlan, and Levi. Isabel being thirteen, Farlan fifteen, and Levi fifteen. She's only known them for a year now, and they would teach her some things from the 3DMGs that they had.
(F/n) was closest to Isabel since she didn't have any siblings to talk to. She was an only child...an only child that would get abused along with her mother by her father.
She was on her way back home from the market, where her father sent her to get some bread. As she was walking, she saw Isabel by herself.
"Hey, (f/n)!" She exclaimed in a chirpy manner, rushing towards her. "Hi." She replied in a sad tone. "What's wrong?" Isabel's happiness turned to concern.
The girl bit her bottom lip, debating if she should tell her or not. "Nothing's wrong, now I have to go before I'm late." She lied.
"I promise I won't tell anyone." Isabel caught the girl off guard, while she was starting to walk away. "Please promise me with all your life you won't?" She turned around, walking back to the red head with pigtails.
"Cross my heart and hope to die, stick a needle in my eye." She smiled. (F/n) looked both ways then back at Isabel, grabbing her wrist and pulling her into an empty alley way.
"Remember when you asked me about my scars a few days ago?" She asked, and Isabel nodded. "Well...m-my father...he b-beats me, butpleasedon'ttellanyone! Not even Farlan and Levi can know." She quickly answered.
Isabel's eyes widened with sorrow and sadness, as she wrapped (f/n) in a tight hug. "Oh I'm so sorry! But why don't you tell anyone?" Isabel pulled away from the hug.
"I-I don't know..." She shrugged, looking down at the ground and fiddling her thumbs. "I have to go...or I'll get in trouble." She waved bye and walked back home.
When she got home, she called out that she returned. "Mom dad, I'm home." There wasn't a response, all she heard was screaming. She knew what was happening, for this was the third time it's happened this week.
She walked into the small kitchen and set the loaf of bread down on the counter, before walking upstairs to scold her father. He would occasionally get into physical fights with her mother, and often times with (f/n).
She pounded on their bedroom door and shouted, "Father, please stop!" He didn't reply, and she heard the sound of punches and kicks being made.
She continued pounding on the door trying to get her father to stop, but nothing worked. (F/n) ran down the stairs to the kitchen before returning to the door.
She held in her hand, a rather large and sharp butcher knife. The girl brought her hand up and swiftly swung it back down, hitting by the door knob with such force and power.
She reached her hand though the hole she made and unlocked the door from the other side. She kicked the door open, revealing her father beating the shit out of her now weakened mother.
"STOP IT!" (F/n) screamed, quickly walking over to her mother who was on the floor, curled up in a ball. "You're late! You were with those kids again, weren't you?!" Her father shouted. "Huh-? How do you know about them?!" Her bottom lip quivered as she kept throwing questions at her father.
"Never mind that!" He shouted, "What did we do so wrong to make you want to hurt us?" She asked in a calmer way.
"WHY WON'T YOU ANSWER ME?!" She screamed at the top of her lungs when she didn't get an answer.
"BECAUSE I'VE FUCKING HAD IT WITH YOU TWO! I NEVER WANTED YOU, YOU WERE JUST A MISTAKE! BUT YOUR SHITTY MOTHER WANTED TO KEEP YOU!" He finally shouted.
"I WANTED AN ABORTION BUT YOUR MOTHER KEPT SAYING NO! I STAYED WITH HER JUST BECAUSE...well...I don't know why I stayed..." His voice became a little calmer.
(F/n) bit her bottom lip as she stared at her father, he suddenly became angered again. "YOU LITTLE PIECES OF SHIT RUINED MY LIFE!" He screamed, storming towards the two.
He yanked (f/n) up by her arm, and dragged her across the room. Then he grabbed one of his belts and started whipping her with it. "THIS IS WHAT YOU GET, YOU DESERVE ALL OF THIS PAIN FOR MESSING UP MY LIFE!"
(F/n) curled up into a ball on the floor, her breathing becoming ragged. He took the belt and started to choke her. The girl's eyes widened with fear, for any breath could be her last.
Her mother slowly sat up, catching her breath from the previous beating she received. "S-stop...p-please..." She quietly spoke, but her father didn't listen.
"P-please...stop, t-take your anger o-out on me...just leave (f-f/n) out of it..." The mother's breathing was unsteady. The girl's eyes started rolling to the back of her head, very little air filling her lungs.
Her father finally stopped, letting go of the belt. (F/n) gasped for air, falling over and hitting her head against the nightstand beside her. "And why should I do that?" He asked, not turning around to face his debilitated wife.
He turned around, looking at the woman on the floor still, with tears escaping her eyes. She begged him to stop, and he actually listened. He took his anger out on her again, leaving (f/n) unconscious on the floor.
After around twenty minutes, (f/n)'s (e/c) orbs fluttered open. Her vision was blurred as she tried looking around the room. When her sight cleared, she saw her father holding the butcher knife up to her mother's throat.
Her mother spotted the now awake (f/n), a tear escaped her eye as she weakly grinned at her daughter. She mouthed, 'everything will be fine' to (f/n).
"(F/n), I want you to have this." The mother told her. The girl nodded, and the mother threw a ring to her, which the girl caught and put it on her left index finger. (Ring in the picture above.)
Then she watched as her father swung the butcher knife down, cutting into the bottom of the mother's neck. (Just imagine how Mikasa's mother died in the manga, it was like that.)
Her body went limp as her lifeless body hit the floor. (F/n) wasn't one to cry, but this was a time where she did in fact shed a tear. She stood up, her legs wobbling a little, and charged at her murderer of a father.
"YOU BASTARD, YOU KILLED MY MOTHER! I HATE YOU!" She screamed with pure rage and anger boiling inside. "JUST GO KILL YOURSELF, GO TO HELL! YOU'RE THE DEVIL HIMSELF!" She punched and kicked him.
Isabel was walking down the streets. When she was about to pass (f/n)'s house, she heard shouting. She panicked, now knowing why there was screaming coming from inside.
She quickly went and looked for some MP officers, trying to be careful enough so she wouldn't get caught since she's a wanted criminal along with Farlan and Levi.
The Military Police showed up to their house, they barged into the room and saw (f/n)'s father beating her again.
For once the MP actually did their job, and took care of her father. One of the guards, and Isabel, kneeled down next to the young girl to see if she was alright. She looked over at her mother's dead body, her eyes tearing up again.
The others dealt with the mother's corpse while the guard helped (f/n) up.
Her and Isabel followed the MP out of the house, where they asked her questions and such.
After some questions, Isabel walked up behind her. "Why did you tell?" (F/n) asked without turning around to look at her. "I-I don't know..I panicked." Isabel answered truthfully.
"You promised me." She quietly stated. "I'm so sorry." Isabel hugged her then left again.
(F/n)'s POV
I jolted awake from my nightmare. It wasn't much of a dream, but more of a memory that I never wanted to remember again. It's been seven years since my mother died. And seven years since I last saw my father.
I graduated in the 101st trainees, but I didn't really make any friends while I was here. In fact, I didn't have any friends since I was younger. I was going to join the scouts later today, and I was pretty excited.
I looked at my clock, it was four in the morning so I decided to stay up and pack my things since I'll be leaving in a few hours.
When I finished packing, it was almost five so I went to the mess hall for an early breakfast.
Time Skip
I grabbed my bag and walked outside, waiting for the carriage to arrive to take me to the scouts' HQ. I sat down on one of the steps and rested my chin on the palm of my hand.
I haven't met any of the squad leaders yet, I've only met commander Erwin. I heard a bit about the squad leaders though.
One that likes to smell people he meets, another obsessed with Titans and the last one is a clean freak. And that was all I knew about them.
I looked down at my ring that my mother gave me, I have worn it everyday since then. Then I drifted deep into my thoughts.
Third person POV
(F/n) was four years old at the time, that's the age when her father started to beat her and fight with her mother in front of (f/n).
The little girl was absolutely traumatized when she got hit for the first time. She was so scared and had no idea what was happening. She didn't understand why she was getting punched and kicked.
One day when the little girl woke up from her nap, she heard her parents shouting at each other. She got out of bed and slowly walked down the hall towards the staircase.
She looked down the steps and saw her parents' shadows coming from the kitchen, and on to the wall. She watched closely as she saw her father pick up a chair and smash it over her mother's head.
The girl's eyes widened, running down the stairs to see what was actually happening. Her mother sat on the floor, leaning forward and holding her head.
There were shards from the broken wooden chair on the floor, and some blood here and there.
(F/n)'s POV
I snapped out of my thoughts when I felt someone tapping my shoulder. "Huh?" I looked up and saw commander Erwin in front of me.
"You alright cadet (l/n)? You were shaking." He asked. "Oh, sorry sir! I'm fine." I stood up and saluted, which he waved off signaling I didn't need to salute him.
I grabbed my bag and walked towards the carriage, then putting it in the back and got inside. I sat down on the soft bench and looked out the small window.
Erwin got in as well and sat across from me. "The ride will be awhile, so get comfortable." Erwin sighed. I looked at him and nodded, "How long, exactly?" I asked.
"Around an hour or so." Erwin answered, and I nodded again. I let out a quiet sigh as I leaned back on the bench, shutting my eyes to rest them.
Third person POV
Erwin heard (f/n) quietly sigh as she leaned back on the bench and closing her eyes. He looked up at her for a few seconds, noticing all the scars on her face, neck, and hands.
"If you don't mind me asking, but where did all those scars come from?" He broke the silence. (F/n) opened one of her eyes, looking at him.
Her other eye opened and she started to freak out on the inside.
(F/n)'s POV
Oh God, I don't want to tell him!
Flashback
"BECAUSE I'VE FUCKING HAD IT WITH YOU TWO! I NEVER WANTED YOU, YOU WERE JUST A MISTAKE! BUT YOUR SHITTY MOTHER WANTED TO KEEP YOU!"
"YOU LITTLE PIECES OF SHIT RUINED MY LIFE!"
Flashback End
"I did stupid things when I was younger." I lied, not wanting him to know about my past life. "Huh? What did you do then?" He asked, sounding intrigued.
"Uh...I jumped from roof to roof until I would fall." I lied again, and he simply nodded. "Still, that's a lot of scars from 'roof jumping'." He stated, looking out the window.
"Yeah...well..." I quietly replied, shrugging.
I hope he bought it. But I horribly doubt he did.
I crossed my arms over my chest, closing my eyes again.
After about ten minutes, I opened my eyes. I looked down at my left hand, I was still wearing my ring.
It was my grandmother's ring, then she gave it to my mother. Now I have it. I hope to carry the tradition of passing on the ring to the next generation. Tch, if there will be a next generation!
"That's a beautiful ring you got there, cadet." I heard Erwin speak up. I snapped my gaze up at him, "Yeah...t-thanks. It was my grandmother's." I replied, looking back at the ring.
"I'm guessing you're the third generation of having possession over it?" He asked, keeping his focus on the paperwork he had on his lap.
"Yeah, I am." I quietly answered, playing with the ring. It was kind of a coincidence of how the ring got passed down.
My grandmother gave it to my mother before she passed away, and I got the ring before my mother passed.
This ring was an antique, around forty years old. Both my grandparents died at a young age. Only in their sixties. I don't know anything about my father's parents, I've never met them before.
My grandfather was a coal miner, he passed away to oxygen deprivation while in the mines due to lack of oxygen down there.
And my grandmother was a nurse, she died from an ambush at the infirmary one day. She was shot multiple times and died the next day.
My mother and I were the only ones there to watch her leave us. Reason was, since my father was...well an asshole and didn't want to come. And my grandfather passed two months before her.
I'm the last descendant in my family, I felt a lot of pressure for that role though. It made me want to try extra hard to survive so my blood line wouldn't go extinct.
Well..I may or may not be the last one. I still don't know about my father. He could still be alive and locked up, or could have got executed. Who knows?!
I doubt that I'll settle down and get married. Even though it was my mother's dream, I just have to focus on saving humanity before I can think about my own happiness.
Flashback
"Hi, I'm Isabel! And you are...?" A cheerful red head exclaimed, holding out her hand for me.
"I-I'm (f/n)." I took her hand, shaking it. "These are my friends, Farlan and Levi." She pointed to a tall blonde haired boy known as "Farlan", then to a short ebony haired boy known as 'Levi.'
"Do you have any friends?" Isabel asked. I looked down at the ground and shook my head "no". "Oh...sorry to hear. But hey, we can be your friends!" She smiled.
"Tch. I'd like to see you try to make me her friend." Levi scowled. "Now now, lighten up Levi." Farlan rolled his eyes.
Flashback End
I remember the day when I met those three kids. I think I was eleven when I met them. I know that I'll never see them again, but still...they were my first and probably last friends.
I don't plan on getting close to anyone throughout my military career. I don't care if I get judged for making that decision, but I'll be stronger if I don't make special bonds with others and find out they die the next day.
Time Skip
We finally made it to the scouts' HQ, and the carriage came to a stop. A cadet opened the door for us, and Erwin let me out first.
I went to the back and grabbed my bag, and walked over to Erwin who was standing a few feet away from the carriage.
"I'd like you to meet your new squad leaders," He started, moving out of the way and two members walked up.
"Introduce yourselves." He whispered. "I'm Hanji Zoë!" A brunette woman with glasses exclaimed. "Mike Zacharius." A tall blonde man said.
"Nice to meet you, I'm (f/n) (l/n)." I gently smiled. Then Mike started sniffing my neck, which was kind of odd. "Sorry about that, he smells new people he meets!" Hanji chuckled.
Mike stopped and I asked Erwin something, "But wait...commander Erwin, didn't you say there were three?" I looked up at him.
"Yes, he must be inside cleaning." "You called?" I heard a monotone voice ask from behind me. I turned around and saw a black haired man with a familiar face.
"...L-Levi...?" I whispered, my eyes widening and dropping my bag on the ground. "...(f/n)...?" He whispered, furrowing his eyebrows with wide eyes as well.
I ran over to him and hugged him tight, even though he didn't hug back. He just stumbled backwards a little from the sudden impact on him.
"You two know each other?" They all asked. I pulled back from Levi and faced them. "Y-yeah...childhood friends." I answered, looking back at Levi.
"Still (taller/shorter) than me as usual, I see." Levi rolled his eyes and I quietly chuckled.
"Tch. I thought you were dead?" "I thought I wouldn't see you again. And what are you doing here anyways? You said you'd never join the military! Hey, where's Farlan and Isabel?"
"They're dead..." He muttered. "What?" "They died on an expedition last year." Levi answered. I didn't know how I felt. I felt like my heart just got crushed by a large pillar.
"I'm so sorry, Levi." I whispered, pulling him into another hug. "Enough of the hugs, brat." He frowned, pushing me away. "Sorry." I mumbled, backing away from him.
"What happened to you though? It's been years and Isabel wouldn't tell us where you went." Levi asked as I got my bag from the ground.
"YOU BASTARD, YOU KILLED MY MOTHER! I HATE YOU!"
My eyes widened, and I covered my mouth with my free hand. I slowly sat down on the ground, looking at my feet.
"JUST GO KILL YOURSELF, GO TO HELL! YOU'RE THE DEVIL HIMSELF!"
"(F/n) what's wrong?" Hanji shook my shoulder. I looked up at her and stood back up. "S-sorry...I don't want to talk about it." I whispered, I'm not even sure if it was audiable.
"Right, well Levi, why don't you show (f/n) to her room." Erwin said, then walking away with the other squad leaders.
"C'mon, brat." Levi sighed and I followed after him.
I can't even believe I got to see him again.

(Looks like I posted this earlier than I expected to XD)
So do you like it so far? Tell me what you think! Feedback is very well appreciated!
It's very different from my other Levi books, instead, I start this before Eren and friends join the scouts!
Do you like how I gave you readers the freedom of your own height? I've never seen that in a book so now I started it! (I think..)
Yup, and this was a long ass chapter!
That's all I gotta say,
❤️Peace❤️
