Yukina's POV:
"Mmm...wha?"

I slowly got up from my bed where I find myself in my own room for unknown reason.

"Since when-"

Suddenly the door opened to reveal my best friend Subaru.

"Hey Subaru, what's up?"

"Nothing much, just coming in to see if you're ok."

He grinned awkwardly.

"Heh thanks, but I'm fine now."

"That's good."

He then came up to me and sat down on my bed.

"So...are you feeling...okay now?"

He asked shyly as I nodded with a shy grin.

"I am, thanks Subaru."

"Mhm."

We sat awkwardly for a few minutes until Subaru glanced at my knife collection.

"Damn...you have a lot."

"Hm?"

Just as I look at Subaru's direction, I smiled warmly and got up from my bed where I approached to my collection. I pick up one of the blades with a smile.

"Yeah...I've been collecting them...."

I stated with a slight grin while gazing at the blade, Subaru approached me with a warm smile.

"No kidding, you have a bunch of them."

"Heheh yeah...I'm pretty weird...."

I giggled a bit awkwardly but Subaru shook his head at me.

"Nah I don't think it's weird...."

He then pulled out his blade that he showed me from childhood.

"My mom gave me this blade when I was little..."

Subaru then grips the knife tightly while suppressing his pain from his traumatic childhood with his late mother.

"...I don't know why she gave me this but....I kept it after she died....."

He sadly stated as I looked at him with guilty red eyes and cupped his cheek.

"I'm sorry about your mom Subaru."

I apologized as I gently caressed his cheek with empathetic eyes, but he shook his head.

"No...it's not your fault, I'm the one who is at fault here."

He assured me, but I shook my head to him refusing to believe him.

"You didn't do anything wrong Subaru, your mom was mentally ill and she couldn't help it."

I reassured him while gently stroking his cheek as Subaru grabs my hand gently with depressed look.

"Then...will you stay with me?"

He asked with a skeptical yet fearful tone where I slightly flinch when he ask that, but I felt uncertain and afraid. If I stay with him, I'll hurt him for sure. I can't let him know that I'm secretly an assassin for years. There's absolutely no way he'll forgive me. No way. Not now. Not ever.

"I...I don't know Subaru. It's hard for me to explain, but...I-"

Suddenly Subaru pulled me closer to him where I widen my eyes and I glance up at him where he is embracing me.

"Don't leave me...Yukina....please....."

He begged where I grimace at his sad plead as I am torn between getting vengeance on the girl who left me to die or be with the man I loved.

I couldn't let him take over me as I hugged him back.

"Let me go."

"No!"

He holds me tight refusing to let me go. Out of all of the boys in the mansion, Subaru is the most damaged one by far. I remember when I visit Subaru's place where I would watch him being verbally abused him 24/7. However, I would cheer him up by giving him roses or play hide and seek.

Those were bittersweet memories, but Subaru and the others don't know that I'm an assassin. Nevertheless, it was very heartbreaking to see subaru like this. He was loner. He was damaged. He was nothing. Now he has reunited with a girl from his childhood who is here to get revenge on her worst enemy, but struggles to reciprocate his feelings because of her conflicting feelings of gaining revenge or be with the man she grew to love.

And that girl is me. Yukina Knightwalker, who is once a human named Emi Komori, but is currently a vampire. Which I utterly despise. Why would subaru like a disgusting vampire who craves for vengeance? Just why? Why Subaru? Just why?

"Subaru please....I don't want to be near a disgusting monster like me!"

I begged him whiel my heart hurts in agony, but he refused to listen and lifted my chin so I can look at his red eyes.

"You think you're the monster here? Don't be stupid Yukina! I'm the one who is the REAL monster here!"

He then brings his face closer to mine where I feared of his unstable anger.

"If want to see a real monster, then let me show you. I will make you feel the pain and agony so you would understand the true meaning of a real and filthy monster....."

"Subaru....please...."

As his face leans to mine, our lips almost kissed until we heard a loud stern voice.

"What are you two doing? Hurry up or you'll be late."

Suddenly Reiji appeared in my room in the worst possible time as we quickly break away and turn away from each other.

"Tch! How annoying...."

He grumbles as he left the room with an irked expression.

"You better get dressed immediately or else we're leaving you be-"

"Yes...yes... I understand. I'll come down there quickly."

I assured him while blushing like a moron.

Damn Reiji, do you have to be a buzzkill?!

Once Reiji left my room, I changed my clothes and ran out to the hallway. While dashing downstairs, I couldn't stop thinking about Subaru. Wait a minute, what am I saying?! I have a blonde bimbo to kill!

As I meet up with the brothers and Yui, we're off to school.
