When You Die
Okay this isn't the last chapter, but it's very emotional. My sister and I, we both cried reading this. Be warned, this is about to tackle real topics. Get your tissues, it's time to leave the Sakamaki brothers.
(Psst, this chapter is a whooping 5,784 words long!)
Shu
Car wrecks are awful things. One occurs every two seconds, and every minute, at least two people die. One night, at a party just hanging out with your friends getting drunk, you had been chosen as the designated driver. So when everyone piled in the car, Rio, Risa, Iwasawa, Tamaki, Mori, and Haruhi, you kept your eyes widened amongst the drunk teens. "Oh Y/n! This is going to be awesome!" Risa's speech slurred horribly; the alcohol was clearly in her breath. So you nodded casually and pulled into reverse.
"Sakamaki! Woah you're hot tonight. Did you dye your hair? It's so cute on you!" Tamaki complimented as he jumped in the front beside you and ran his hands through his blonde hair. You smiled in reply and said "Yeah I sure did. If you call shampooing and straightening my blonde hair then yep."
You kept your eyes on the road until you noticed Mori and Iwasawa making out in the backseat. A shadow of annoyance flew over you. And as you snapped at them to knock it off, and said something about staying sacred, a car pulled out in front of you at a red light, and it hit you straight on.
The collision impacted you and glass shattered everywhere. As you collapsed on Tamaki and Haruhi, you stayed frozen. Bellow you, Tamaki was unconscious. He wasn't moving. And what hurt even more was the fact that you couldn't move. Panic set in along with fear and anger. You wanted to scream at the other driver, but you couldn't. The only thing that could happen was tears falling from your eyes and onto the body of your friend.
Within minutes police arrived to the disastrous mess. You looked in the backseat and saw their crippled bodies all bloody and mangled disturbingly. At a first glance you looked away and shielded your eyes by closing them.
"Is anyone alive in there? Hello! Hello?" Someone yelled through the distorted glass. "Help. I'm still here!" You begged. He looked at you with a reassuring smile and shouted something to the others. When you were pulled out, the crash was horrific. Blood was on your body and clothes, it was on the pavement and street, worst of all you couldn't even tell who's body was who's. You were very fortunate.
"Miss? What is your name?" A nurse said through the sirens and firefighters. "Um...Um.." It distracted you terribly to see such a mess. "Miss? What is your name? Cant you remember?" The weirdness and tears vanished and you looked at the nurse. "Y/n....Sakamaki." You replied. "Okay. Thank you miss. Relax, everything is okay."
You knew everything wasn't okay. No matter how much they reassured, you definitely knew different. Your friends were dead, and it felt as if it was your fault. You couldn't move anything but your head. Then about five minutes later two familiar faces ran over to you and held you tightly. "Baby...baby...sweetheart?! Are you okay?! Please Y/n--" Shu cried hugging your neck. You didn't move even though you desperately wanted to hug him. "No! I'm not okay!" You screeched crying. "Daddy my friends are dead! It was all my fault! I looked away from the road!" You sobbed into his shoulder. Yui held onto you tightly. "Y/n darling! You're going to be fine. Please love just relax! I'm going to have a heart attack!" Yui cried into your side.
The next few minutes were a haze, and you vividly remembered seeing Yui and Shu fade into darkness as an oxygen mask fell over your lips.
When you awoke next, you couldn't move. It was paralyzation from the neck down. You heard the noises of buzzing machines, but that was the extent of it. A few doors closing caught your attention. And one particular one was opening, and it was yours. The doctor walked over to you and smiled.
"Well, rise and shine sleepyhead! Get some good rest?" He joked and you looked downwards. "No..." The words choked out. "Oh. Well, you have some visitors!" Your parents walked inside and touched your hand softly. Shu smiled at you and gently brushed the hair aside from your eyes. "I'd like to speak to you about something dyer. Y/n has paralyzation. I'm afraid, I'm afriad there is nothing we can do for her except treat her current wounds. Mr. and Mrs. Sakamaki, I'm terribly sorry." He said.
"We appreciate the help Dr. Seiji." Yui said kindly. You looked at your dad helplessly and wanted to hold his hand so badly.
You spent two weeks in the hospital. The final week was approaching fast, and in secret the doctors spoke of the clock counting down. And as the moonlit night was in the darkness, and Shu came to visit you, deep inside your heart you were happy and content.
"And then when you were a little girl," Shu began as he twisted your hair softly and lied beside you. "I remember you used to love curling up to me and listening to music. I remember your first words like yesterday Y/n." Shu chuckled. "Tell me that story again dad." You replied with a smile. "Well, about a month after you had been born, during Christmas Eve, I was wrapping presents and you were getting into them. I remember vividly that I told you to stop but you shouted loudly, "You too loud! Be more quiet!"" His grin fell across his warm cheeks.
"I love you dad." You said in a low voice. "Share music?" He whispered into your ear. "Yeah...." You replied and Shu tucked an earbud into your ear. Next thing you knew, the soft music played in your ears and you fell into sleep.
"What's the cause of death?" The doctor said the next morning. "It appears to be of heart failure." The nurse replied flipping up the clipboard. "She died happily alongside her father though. That's enough for me." The doctor smiled in reply.
Reiji
The damp wintered air flew softly around your cherry cheeks and swooped across the streets. You were walking home from school trying to avoid the kids picking on you earlier, so you actually left fifteen minutes before school let out. Pale hands clutched your books brought to your face. Your long black hair hurled around when all of a sudden you heard voices behind you. "Ugh." You muttered turning your head enough to see familiar faces approach behind you.
Fear was lurching now, and you sped up your pace. These kids were the same ones who teased you, leading into self-harm and anorexia. This stage in life you wanted nothing to do with them.
"Hey! Red eyes! Vampire! Mind helping me out! My mom wants me to go to church! Turn me into a vampire so I can't!" You gave him the annoyed eye and he laughed at you with his friends. "Cut it out." The. out of nowhere you felt one pull at your hair and gag your mouth. You kicked and screamed for Reiji's help, but they successfully had you, and when a car drove past, you found yourself signaling them for desperate help. But to your demise, they were in on it. In fact they opened the trunk and threw you inside.
It was pitched black. You squirmed around trying not to panic, but in this scenario panicking felt like the only just thing to do. Laughing voices echoed through the backseat and crack. That was right! Modern cars had a latch in the back for situations like such! Your hands moved around and you found it. However, just as you were about to open it, you heard car door slams. It was too late. They opened the trunk and saw you lying there vulnerable to everything up their mischievous sleeves.
It was an old house in a run down part of town, amongst a trashy neighborhood. They opened the front door and pushed you straight into the wooden floor resulting in a massive black bruise across your cheek.
"Oh what is she going to do now? Boo hoo poor little vampire! Gonna use your fangs and kill us? Awwww how cute!" Someone teased and you felt hot and angry. "Shut up!" Replied you, who was moving away from the people and into a living room of some sort. But after your little remark, you felt someone yank you up by the hair and slap the bruise. You let out a yelp and they threw you across the room and onto some shattered glass.
He smirked and came down to your eye line. "I think you're going to enjoy this." Then two lips you hated so much contacted yours. Every bit of you wanted to slap him, to kill him right then and there, but you squirmed and tried kicking him instead. It failed miserably and resulted in him cutting your leg with a kitchen knife.
So there you were, in four boys' living room, being slapped, scraped, slit, and starved. Three days had gone by and at this rate, they had gotten drunk and beat you severely. As they hit your breast with a knife, you heard the door open. They ignored it and you looked sadly at the figure.
Whomever they were, they were slimming tall and red eyes looked back at you. Then you immediately knew who it was, after they removed their gloves in a fashionable manner.
"Father!" You yelped. Reiji walked across the room and two of the boys tried hitting him repeatedly with their fists, only to have their necks snapped and shoved into a corner. The last two stood up and tried killing him, but they were thrown from the second story window out onto the pavement bellow.
Reiji raced over to you with worry in his eyes. "Y/n?!" He said in a whispery yell and removed the gag over your tear-felt face. "Father!" You kissed his neck and face and once he untied you, painfully but surely you jumped into his arms. "Y/n! You're alive! I....I was so worried about you!" Reiji kissed your cheeks over and over again and the room fell silent.
"I love you." Said Reiji, breaking the silence. You looked at your chest and then to Reiji with a smile. "I wanted to say, thank you. For all that you've done for me." His eyes widened in confusion. "W-What do you mean Y/n?" His face was entrenched in perplexity. "I've gotten to enjoy your smile and company father."
"I don't want to regret not being able to say thank you to the person who gave me my life. I wanted to express my gratitude." Suddenly Reiji understood what was happening, and fear crept over him. "No way...." He finally said. You took a deep breath and looked at him straight on. "Father, please, tell me, repeat what you just said." You begged with a smile and he backed away with a sad face. "B-B-B-But Y/n.....You'll disappear!" He said.
Your eyes begged at this point. "Please!" Then, with that word, Reiji inhaled and hugged you closely. "I....I love you Y/n. Let's stay together forever, okay?" You nodded into his shoulder. "Okay." You felt your shoulder become drenched in tears and you realized Reiji was crying. "I love you Y/n!" The words echoed throughout the room. "Yes, thank you. Thank you for loving me." You replied clutching him closer. "Please don't pass on! Y/n!" Reiji yelped.
"Truly and deeply, thank you for giving my life to me." You said, disappearing from Reiji's arms.
"Y/n.....Y/N!" He screamed as you ascended from this world.
Ayato
The noisy night echoed through the train station causing dramatic exposition. You were walking onto platform nine with Ayato trudging behind. The only thing you were hauling was your backpack from another day at school, which, theoretically speaking, was absolute hell. The case wasn't very simple to tell you the truth. Anyway, as the glass doors of the bullet train opened for you and Ayato, dozens of other passengers collided with the others. "Ack! Dad! Jeez move!" You yelled trying to shove Ayato out of the way. He looked at you with a funny face, sticking his tongue out, and disappeared amongst the crowd.
Agitated, you rudely slipped beyond passengers and made your way to Ayato. "Pancake you sure are slow today." He said holding a latch. You rolled your eyes. "Yeah yeah. Whatever dad." Within the next three minutes, the train began moving and you and Ayato were leaving back home. Everything was silent and vigilant. A few sneezes since the winter show was still falling unusually heavy.
Then all of a sudden as you admired your student I.D, the train began shaking mildly. At first you thought nothing of it. That was until the lights flickered and the room shook extremely violently. "D-Dad!" You shouted falling back. The last thing you saw was that I.D being whisked out of reach and everything faded black.
For many hours, you had been swamped in the darkness of unconsciousness. Eventually however, your eyes fluttered open in a shady sight. It was quiet. You slowly sat up as your back reeked with pain. "Huh? What happened....to me...?" You said, touching your head. The sight around you was unusually blurry. "Dad? Dad? Dad?!" The realization hit hard. You searched around the wrecked space and found Ayato on the floor, dried blood from his forehead.
Hastily you crawled weakly over to him, moving seats and broken glass out of your way. When the sight beheld you, panic flooded over you like a hurricane. "Dad!? Dad! Wake up! Please!" You cried shaking your father. He opened one eye with a struggle. "Y/n?" Replied Ayato, in a hoarse voice. You hugged him tightly.
"I don't know what happened." He said and just as you, held his head in pain. "My head. Ugh." When your father said those words, you untucked your shirt and tore off a good bit. "Stay still." You begged. He obeyed reluctantly, saying something about morals, and you just let him talk as you wrapped it around his hair and bleeding wound.
You smiled at your work but looked around. Most of the people were either dead or unconscious. With your help, together you and Ayato held each other's arms and jumped from the train to see something terrifying. "Oh no..." The words spilled from your lips. "What is it--Holy frick." Ayato muttered looking at the exit. In this twisting and curving tunnel, the exit was caved in. Not a single appearance of light gleamed through.
"I'll check my phone for reception." You said opening it up. Ayato looked over your shoulder and sighed. "Nothing?" You responded with a simple nod. "Well, don't worry Y/n. Let's just help the others off the train." Ayato patted your back and you followed him.
Amongst opening the door, you and Ayato recovered a mother and her daughter with a sprained arm, a businessman with a broken neck, two schoolchildren with slit arms, some juvenile delinquents, and an english teacher. Everyone else had perished in horrible ways. Ayato didn't let you look though; he shielded your eyes saying "Don't look."
"Hey dad?" You said fifteen minutes later. "I'm going to check the other exit. I'll be back in a minute okay?" Ayato nodded and brushed your hair aside. "Be careful okay?" You smiled and shook your head 'yes' in response. Then you found yourself standing on some rubble. Hasting you cupped your hands around your lips and shouted "I'm going to go look on the other side! I swear to all of you, if I can get out, I won't leave you behind!" Satisfied you jumped down and Ayato patted your back and watched you leave to the opposing side of the wretched tunnel.
The walk was short; about two minutes of walking in darkness with nothing but a flashlight and phone was lead with extreme disappointment and distraught. The other side was sealed shut. "It can't be true...." You muttered frightened. "This is--" Your words were interrupted with extreme coughing. You fell to the concrete holding your stomach in desperation. What was the pain in your chest? It hurt like crazy. And your mouth dropped open as you unbuttoned your shirt and looked at the ugly sight of a giant black bruise. It was large and went from your waist all the way up to an inch bellow your left breast.
You shone the flashlight on it. "Oh no." You muttered. At this point, you knew Ayato couldn't find out about it. He might be set into extreme panic. So when you walked back and told everyone the distressing news, the bruise wasn't mentioned.
Four days passed.
The party survived off of snacks and water, but times were looking rough. You and Ayato shared water, having the majority of it spilt when the delinquents ran off with if in a pathetic attempt to escape. So you lived off of water and a about six sticks of pocky.
Another two long days passed.
You looked up at the ceiling with Ayato lying behind you. It was obvious that you hadn't eaten or drank in the last forty-eight hours; along with your wound, it was damaging. "Hey....dad? I was thinking....when this is all said and done....could we maybe get some ice cream? I'd sure love it..." Behind you Ayato smiled gently and nodded slowly. "Y-yeah...My baby girl....." The room fell silent as you felt Ayato give your hand a squeeze. He loved you so much. So undeniably much. "Daddy.....? Do you have a pen?"
Ayato reached into his pocket with weak hands and handed you a pen. "Here, Pancake..." You smiled gently and pulled out your health insurance card.
I herby state, that if anything happens to me, I wish to donate the following: (Please circle the organs you wish to donate. Others X out)
[] Eyes [] Brain [] Kidneys [] Lungs [] Heart
Pressing it against your other hand, you circled everything. Eyes, brain, kidneys, lungs, and heart. It was all in a gigantic circle. With that done, you signed your name at the bottom, Y/n Sakamaki. Ayato looked up and saw what you been doing, and pulled another pen from his pocket and copied.
"What are you doing?" Someone said.
"If by some reason you die, you can give meaning to your life by circling this." Ayato replied.
Everyone circled it. Everyone followed your lead. And as your face stared up at the ceiling, happy with your life, everything fell bright. Your life had vanished before you, just as the rescue team cracked the rocks and broke through.
"Y/n? Y/n? Y/n? Y/n!" Ayato cried, realizing you had left this world.
Kanato
Kanato was cooking in the kitchen with Yui as you and Ai colored at the kitchen table. Everything was normal and bittersweet like always. The picture you had been drawing was lovely. The main objective of it was to capture the young man's intoxicating emerald eyes, and sure enough even your mother agreed it was captivating. "That's lovely work Y/n! I'm certainly impressed." She said patting your head and left to continue cooking.
"May Teddy and I see?" Kanato peaked over your shoulder and smiled happily. "Oh yes Y/n. It's a nice picture; reminds me quite a bit of your uncle. I'm impressed!" He said. You grinned, pleased with the attention and Ai came over to you as well. "Sissy? Can I see too?" She requested and brushed her long purple hair behind her ear. "Yes you can Ai!" You replied, scrunching her hair like Kanato had done to you, making her pink eyes close happily.
"Oh sissy. It's beautiful! I love how you did the marker on his eyes!" She complimented making you blush in excitement. "He has an interesting character, right Mei?" The same porcelain doll that still didn't move gave off reassurance to you.
Later as day consumed the night and Yui and Kanato left to buy groceries, you and two of Ai's friends sat at home. You were inside of the bedroom upstairs playing dolls with the girls enjoying quality time with them. "Oh princess Margret Rose, your dress is dazzlingly beautiful!" You said to Ai's friend Mayoko. Mayoko laughed and said in a child's voice, "Oh thank you very much empress Yui!"
The four of you laughed when suddenly something shattered downstairs. "Sissy what was that?" Ai said hugging her doll tightly. "One second and I'll go check. You guys stay here, okay?" They nodded as you slowly made your way downstairs to check.
It was mortifying. Six large men dressed in black appeared in your living room, digging through your stuff. Shattering things, ruining things. Every part of you wanted to scream, wanted to grab your sister and her friends and just run, but you couldn't. They made eye contact with you, and at that point, you ran upstairs screaming for the girls to make haste and escape through a window.
"AI! RUN! EVERYONE RU--" You screamed racing up the stairway until one snatched your hair, yanking you back. "Oh pretty prize here, eh? You three. Go get the other girls. I have a plan in mind." The man said with a smirk.
Five minutes later, the four of you kneeled on the floor looking at the carpet in terror as the men talked in front of you, determining your fate and their scheme. "Alright. You. Get up. Now, you're the oldest right? Hahaha. You know where your parents keep important things. Things they told you to always take of real good. Or things to give robbers to make em leave? They told you about stuff like that right? Haha."
You were frozen. What things? Your parents hadn't told you where they kept such things. In fact, your head was hurting and you were going to be sick. "I...I don't know! I don't know what that is!" You replied with wide eyes. He came down to your eye line and stared straight into yours. "If I don't like what you show me, I'm afraid I'll have to take these girls from you one by one. One dies every ten minutes unless you bring me something."
Kanato and Yui hadn't told you where everything worth money was kept. They hadn't told you at all. You were desperate as you searched the house. Your head hurt terribly. You were ready to pass out. Their fates were in your hands. But, you couldn't find anything. No matter where you looked, nothing. Then the clock appeared 6:30 AM. "It's time! I have to hurry! I have to hurry!" You screamed trying to lift a vase twice your size. "I'll give them the biggest vase we have! U-ugh! It's heavy! I-It's gotta be valuable for it to be so heavy!" You yelped trying to pick it up.
And as you made your way out the room and down the stairs, there was a crash. You slipped and toppled down alongside the vase onto the marble bellow. Everything shattered. It was all destroyed. Desperately you tried picking up the pieces, only to slit your fingers.
"NO!" You screamed as two men held you back. "Ten minutes have passed, sweetheart." The man with blue shimmering eyes said, picking up Ai by the hair. "Sissy!?" She yelped in terror. Then, the same man bashed her head into the wall and your cries and pleas echoed through the house. Ai cried and screamed, until with very little life left in her, the man picked her up and slit her throat.
The blood was drenched across the floor and clock. Your sister's body lied dead on the floor. With tear streaming down your face, the man let you go and looked at the clock. "Ten minutes."
Ten minutes passed again, and the jewelry you had given them wasn't good enough. Another died brutally, and you begged to take her place.
The last stroke echoed. Upstairs, you ran faster and faster, slipping on the stairs again like before and ran into the living room to see the pool of blood and three lifeless bodies on the floor. Your eyes were wide with fear. They made their way over to you and threw you against the wall. Everything went silent as you went deaf to the world. The only thing heard was a ringing in your ear as he hit your head over and over. Blood poured out onto the carpet and into the hallway. As your eyes welded up with tears as you realized you were pathetically unable to save them, to save the one thing you wanted to protect so much, your body collapsed onto the ground and the world grew hazy. You looked at Ai clutching onto her doll tightly and stopped breathing.
Kanato came home that night and screamed bitterly. He came home to his babies murdered on the floor, and he came home to a young woman who lost everything she wanted to protect in thirty minutes. A girl who died trying to defend her siblings. The last thing you thought of before death swallowed you whole, was Kanato kissing you goodnight as a child, all those many years ago.
Laito
The midnight moon fell across the sky; momentarily you had been lying on your bed, usually considered fluffy unlike today, and had been writing in your paperback diary. You found yourself humming one of the most adoring songs you'd ever favored in the midst of it all. Naturally you had been drinking blood inordinately as always, but lately things were off-key. Since about January of last year, you took notice of Laito's frustration with you and Yui. On more than one occasion you saw him leave the house, leaving for days at a time.
So life was hard. That didn't mean you had given up though. Unfortunately for your father, he had been in struggles with your grandad. Many nights he took his anger out on you unlike before. And on this particular night, Laito had reached a limit.
"Y/n? Get out of bed and come into the music room. I have a surprise!" Laito waved at you from the doorway, calling your name. In reply you rose up and followed him down the hallways of the Sakamaki household, keeping closely behind. After a five minute walk up and down stairs and corridors, you swung the door open and gasped at the sight.
The piano was shining brightly in the moonlight and roses scattered throughout. It was a new piano, and in exquisite shape. "Dad...thank you! It's absolutely lovely!" You exclaimed and walked the sides to admire it. "I can't way to play it! Ooo! In fact, let's play it! Right now!" Hasting, you grabbed Laito's hand and yanked him on the bench beside you.
"Woah woah! Okay okay! I'll play!" Laito laughed all while patting your head. "What shall we play?" You rose your hand to your chin and thought for a moment. Now you would like to play a piece that had sentimental value to you and Laito, so My Most Precious Treasure was the first song. Your hands swayed across the first keys, F and then E, as Laito played the bass clef just bellow.
Throughout the song you made laughable mistakes, but you noticed Laito's facial expressions becoming agitated very solemn. You brushed it off and began playing where you had left off, until all of a sudden you hit another wrong note and Laito raised his voice. "Y/n! Hit C not E! Agh!" The room fell silent as you looked at your father hide his face in his hands.
"....Dad?" You muttered. Laito through the sheet music across the room. It sifted through the air and into the fireplace. This was unlike Laito. Within a matter of seconds you grew concerned. "Y/n! Shut up! Shut up!" From the blue he slapped you bitterly, and the force was so powerful it sent you across the room and into the bookshelf. "D-D-Dad..."
Boom!
"Huh?" You looked up from your resting place. Laito looked out the door with you.
BOOM!
Laito looked at you in panic and you could immediately feel butterflies crowding your stomach in worry. What was that noise? Where was it coming from? But in a few seconds, reality would hit you harder than a bullet. Because at the end of the hallway, as you stood beside Laito fretting in despair, three men dressed in black robes stood holding guns pointing towards you and him. Every inch of you was frozen as they shouted something.
"Y/n. Run." Laito's voice said in your ear. The hunters spoke foreignly to you and him. Laito grabbed your hand and jumped through the window with haste. The shattering glass echoed throughout the landscape and air, and at that moment you and him realized the situation was much worse than first perceived. They chased after you shooting their bullets alongside. At the moment you fell into the landscape and stumbled to your feet, roses flew everywhere. Laito was holding your hand and running throughout the night with you.
Then, it happened.
With a thud Laito fell to the ground. A shriek of pain screamed through the night. "Dad get up! Please I beg of you get--" Your eyes widened with utter terror. He wasn't saying anything. The only thing he was doing was smiling at you, kindly. But then you looked up beside the men, and a bullet collided with your heart. The hand you had been holding belonging to Laito fell to the roses; you followed shortly behind.
Together, you looked at the sky. Tears flew softly down you and his cheeks when you felt him clutch on your hand. "I love you." He choked out in a low voice as smoke filled the stars. Blood was flooding the dirt and white roses. And you smiled, grasping his hand harder. "I love you." You finally replied.
"Let's leave this world together, okay?" He turned his head to you with a smile and you found yourself nodding happily. "Okay." And as the home you had spent your childhood in burned down behind you, and tears flew down the side of your face with a smile, the warmth inside your heart and his laughing voice was your Most Precious Treasure.
Subaru
School was a whirlwind for you that day. That lonesome day with rain pouring heavily from the sky. That day was the day you found out Yui had died with Yuri in a car crash. It was in the middle of class like normally, when all of a sudden the principal excused himself to your desk and whispered the words into your ear.
"Y/n, I'm very sorry to say this but....I just received news from St. Vincent's hospital that your mother and little sister....passed away." Your pencil fell from your fingertips and to the floor. For some reason you thanked the man, and smiled softly.
You clutched onto your shirt with the tears drifting down your face. That image, that eternal image of when someone you love with all your heart was laughing and playing with you only a few hours ago, when you hadn't even said I love you this morning; it was imprinted into your mind. You couldn't escape the image. Yui was dead, Yuri was dead too. Your voice whimpered through the classroom as the realization hit you hard.
The pain was going to echo in your heart.
For the rest of your life it would have felt as if this pain should not slumber. Your grief had been forgotten for a short while. But, it returned. And as you lied on her desk with the florescent liquid streaming down your delicate cheeks once kissed by her, you stood up and walked quietly out of the room. You silently made your way to the rooftops where the memories inclined to you flashed back. The words and delicacy of the situation seemed unreal. But, it was.
With enough of it, with enough of the torment, the pain-stricken girl, you, began to climb over the fence guarding the others from death. Your eyes were still as restless as ever, and you closed them. Despite your shaky feet and tearful face, you stood up on the edge.
"Y/n! What're....." Subaru bursted through the door and watched you surprised. Reluctantly you looked at him and smiled. "You know, for a short while, I had gotten to enjoy the purpose of life. Sort of like an eternal happily ever after." Subaru's face was awestricken to the point of almost frozen. "Papa, I love you. I love you so much. I love you and mama and Yuri too. I'm deeply sorry for all the times I mistook you and upset you. Thank you for bringing me to life. Papa, I love you!" Your face all drenched in tears and passionate grin began to fall backwards. Subaru's face was lit in terror as you faded into the clouds.
You were smiling until the end.
The thump bellow made Subaru realize it all. Mistakes. His life was nothing but them. The thought hit him as he raced downstairs to the sight. You didn't live. You were lying amongst the roses in the garden, body covered beautifully in them. Your face looked simply as if you were napping under the clouds. But, you were sleeping. You were waiting until that day. The end.
"Y/n....! Y/n..! Y/N!?" Subaru's face had become entrenched with tears and as for his heart, pain. Desperately he shook you in hopes of your awakening. With his entire life overcome with grief, Subaru looked beyond his sadness. He took a deep breath and pulled out that one knife hidden deep away in his pocket.
"I remember the day you came home from the hospital." Subaru smiled willfully as tears began falling from his crimson eyes and aimed it directly to his heart. "I'll never forget the dream I had with you." He said, plunging it into himself.
