Ch.1

The sun glistened through the clouds as a car drove down the road.

Emiko Hanaki sat in the backseat of a car, gazing out the window. She had gotten a letter about her mother's mansion and she wanted to see it before she did anything.

The car ride was quiet as Emiko looked at pictures of her and her mom on her phone. They were all taken while she was growing up.

She sighed softly and looked out the window. The car had pulled into the mansion's lands and she saw most of the trees. It was strange that there were no people around.

She sighed softly and closed her eyes, fiddling with a necklace. It resembled a cross with bright blue gemstones in the three tines.

The car slowed to a stop and she looked out the window to see the mansion. It was bigger than she expected.

Her eyes widened with astonishment. "Wow," she murmured softly. It looked... empty.

Emiko climbed out of the car with her suitcase. Something oddly soft fell on her head, surprising her and she picked up a plant off of her head. It was a fake plant.

She frowned and scanned the area. There was no one or anything around.

Exhaling silently, she walked into the mansion. The inside was bigger and the decore was surprisingly fancy. It almost reminded her of home.

Emiko looked around, "hello?"

There wasn't an answer. It was quiet. That was when she noticed a door open. She walked over to it and peeked into the room.

She blinked in surprise when she saw a boy laying on the couch. He was wearing a strange school uniform and he looked seventeen.

He had reddish-brown hair.

"Hello?" She said as she walked over to him. She furrowed her eyebrows as she noticed that he hadn't moved at all.

Slowly, she placed her hand on his chest and froze. She didn't feel his heartbeat. And his skin was cold as ice.

She quickly took her phone out of her pocket and jumped in surprise when the boy suddenly grabbed her arm. She stared at him with wide eyes and he opened his bright green eyes to look at her with a frown.

"Who are you?" He asked.

"I-I'm Emiko. My mother told me about this place," she said nervously, "it's hers."

The boy sat up, still holding her arm, "I don't remember anyone owning this place."

"Well... she...," Emiko furrowed her eyebrows, nervous, "how are you... alive right now? Your heart wasn't beating."

The boy glanced at her suitcase then he looked at her suitcase then back at her. "What are you doing here?"

"I live here now," she said with a frown. The boy narrowed his eyes, "leave."

Emiko blinked in surprise before she frowned deeply, "no." The boy glared down at her, "yes."

"I said no," she said firmly as she stood up, "and who even are you?" The boy huffed, "that's none of your business."

"It is now since I told you who I was," she shot back. He huffed as he got up and walked past her.

She watched him, "you still haven't answered my question." "I don't need to," he said as he walked out of the room. Emiko frowned before she started to walk after him.

Then she noticed another boy walking into another room. He had the same uniform on except his hair was purple and he looked to be carrying a teddy bear.

She blinked in surprise and confusion. "H-hello?" She called out and she started to run after him. She yelped as she tripped over something and fell to the ground.

She sat up and winced as she felt a burning pain in her knee. She looked to see there was a cut and it was bleeding.

She sighed softly before she looked up to see the younger boy standing before her. He had light purple hair and light purple eyes.

"H-how did you... where did you come from?" She asked nervously. The boy didn't answer as he walked closer.

She winced and crawled backwards only to bump into a table. As the boy got closer, she quickly got to her feet to avoid him and she started running. With each step she took, she was limping until she ran into the living room.

Suddenly, the reddish-brown boy grabbed her and pinned her to the wall.

"L-let go!" She yelped, struggling in his shockingly tight grip. It didn't hurt enough that he'd break her arms but it was tight enough for her to get bruises.

The boy knelt down, his gaze settling on her knee.

"Wh-what are you doing?" She whimpered and jumped when he suddenly licked the blood off her knee. She tried to jump away but he pinned her to the floor and she gritted her teeth as he licked her knee again.

She closed her eyes tightly. The boy smirked and opened his mouth to bite her.

"Ayato," a male voice said, causing him to pause and he glared at the occupant. "Reiji," he grumbled.

"Care to tell me what you're doing?" Reiji asked with a frown. He was eighteen and he had dark magenta hair and pale magenta eyes.

Emiko pushed Ayato away and crawled back until her back hit the wall. Gripping at it, she pushed herself to her feet and stared at Ayato and Reiji.

Reiji looked at her. She took a step back and bumped into someone. She looked up and her sky blue eyes met deep blue ones.

The boy was nineteen and he had blonde hair. She quickly moved away and found herself sitting on a nearby couch.

"Who do we have here?" A sultry voice said next to her and she looked up to see another seventeen year old boy leaning on the banister. He had green eyes and reddish-brown hair too but he was wearing a fedora.

"A little princess suddenly visiting a strange place?" He asked with a chuckle. Emiko blinked in confusion and she nearly jumped when the boy from before suddenly appeared behind the couch on her left side.

"She always looks so scared," he said, voice edging into concern. Emiko frowned and scooted away from him.

"Who is she?" She looked over at a sixteen year old boy. He had white hair and deep red eyes.

"That's enough, all of you," Reiji spoke up and she looked at him. He looked down at her, "tell me who you are and why you're here."

She gripped the hem of her shirt. "My name is Emiko Hanaki. My mother, Yuki Hanaki, sent me here. To live here. Although... I didn't expect the six of you to be living here."

Reiji raised an eyebrow. "Is that all, princess?" The second boy chuckled as he sat next to Emiko, "if this was an invitation for us, you could've said so." He leaned towards her and she quickly stood up.

"That... doesn't really explain why you're all here," she said and she looked at Reiji, "who are you?"

He frowned at her, "I am Reiji Sakamaki. The second oldest of this family and I am responsible for this household. This is my brother, Shu. He is the eldest."

Emiko looked at the blonde, Shu, who was simply leaning against the wall, eyes closed and arms crossed over his chest.

"Those three are Ayato, Laito and Kanato," Reiji gestured to the three sitting on the couch and smirking at Emiko.

She didn't smile back at them as she listened to Reiji.

"And the youngest in our family is Subaru," he said, gesturing to the white-haired teen. She looked at him and he huffed, looking away.

"We are the Sakamaki Brothers," Reiji said. Emiko swallowed nervously.

"I... need to call my mom," she said, "maybe this is the wrong place." She fumbled around in her pocket and she widened her eyes as she didn't find her phone.

There was a click and she whipped her head around to see Ayato holding her phone.

"H-hey!" She exclaimed, more angry than surprised, "give it back!" "And why should I?" He asked tauntingly.

She narrowed her eyes as she ran over and tried to grab it from him but he held it out of her reach. Suddenly Subaru took it from Ayato's phone and the two looked at him in surprise.

"Wh-what are you-?" Emiko widened her eyes as Subaru broke it in a crushing grip.

She stared at the broken remains of her phone and she gritted her teeth. She glared at him, "why did you do that?!"

He gave her a seething glare, "get lost."

She clenched her fists tightly as she got up. "Aww, don't cry, princess," Laito said, placing his hands on her shoulders, "I highly doubt you need that silly old cellphone."

She moved away from him. "Stay away," she muttered as she walked to the door. She yelped when she suddenly fell and she flinched as she scraped her knee.

She whimpered and clutched at her knee as blood started to flow down her leg. She felt a shiver run down her spine and she looked to see the Sakamaki brothers all staring at her with their eyes glowing.

Emiko widened her eyes in realization.

"V-vampires... you're all vampires," she murmured. Ayato smiled darkly, "yes."

Emiko started trembling, "what... h-how...?"

Ayato took a step towards her and she quickly started running. She tried to ignore the pain in her leg.

The only thing that she was focused on was getting away from them and finding a way out.

Emiko ran down the hallway, panting. She grunted as she ran to a door but it was locked.

She tried to unlock it, panting. Suddenly a hand slammed next to her and she whirled around to see Ayato.

"Leaving so soon?" He chuckled darkly, "even now, I doubt you can escape me, princess."

He leaned towards her but she shoved him away and she ran down another hallway. Ayato started laughing as he watched her.

She ran down the hallway, breathing hard.

She looked around frantically before she saw pieces of a lock that were scattered in front of a door. She frowned in confusion before she slowly walked forward and pushed the door open.

It was a room that had two bookshelves and a large window. The moonlight lit up the room but it still looked barely dark. It was strange and unnerving.

She looked around as she walked into the room. She looked at the window. A woman stood in front of the window outside. Emiko didn't see her face at first.

She had dark purple hair.

The woman slowly turned her head and Emiko widened her eyes with a gasp and a sudden pain erupted in her chest.

She clutched at her chest, whimpering in pain. She stumbled backwards into the bookcase and fell to her knees as a few books fell down.

She breathed heavily, holding back tears and she slowly looked up and blinked. The woman wasn't there.

She swallowed and glanced around before she noticed a small diary next to her leg. She slowly reached over and picked it up.

"Is this... my mother's diary?" She murmured before she opened it and she saw a picture of her mother holding her as an innocent.

"The Hanaki family have always served the people of the Night. It mostly came at cost. And I am scared for my daughter to have the same fate."

Emiko narrowed her eyes in confusion, "what...?"

"Of all the rooms, you had to pick this one." She snapped her head up to see the Sakamaki brothers all standing in the room.

She quickly moved backwards and her back hit the wall.

"I am curious to know how you entered this room," Reiji said calmly.

"I... the lock was broken," she said nervously. "Really now, princess?" Laito chuckled, amused. It was clear that he didn't believe her.

She gripped the diary and she glanced at the window. Her mind was reeling from the fact that she saw a woman for a mere moment. She gripped her chest, letting out a trembling exhale.

"I will have to install a new lock on this door immediately," Reiji said. Emiko flinched.

"That's the look," Ayato said, gently grabbing her chin and turning her head so she could look at him, "you really know to get my blood pumping, don't you?"

Laito chuckled, "I think I'll have a taste too." "I would like to have a taste too, please," Kanato said.

"There is one thing you will understand, Emiko," Reiji said calmly, "you will never leave this place."

Subaru scoffed, "oh just get to the point already. If she escapes, she's dead."

Emiko gritted her teeth. "P-please! Please stop!" She cried as Ayato licked her neck.

"Please!" She cried and there was the sound of glass shattering, getting the attention of Ayato, Laito and Kanato.

"My bad," Shu said, "must've knocked it over."

Emiko let out a shuddering breath, trembling.

"Hey there, pretty girl." She looked at Ayato who pinned her down and he loomed over her.

"Tell me... are you ready?" He asked tauntingly and he showed his fangs.

"N-no... pl-please no!" She cried. She knew it was futile to stop them. It hurt.

She was beyong terrified and she whimpered as he leaned down and bit down on her neck. She gritted her teeth as she gripped at him. She could feel him drinking her blood.

She whimpered weakly, her vision blurring in and out. Before passing out, the last thing she saw was the moon glowing in the dark sky.
