Beth's POV:
Right after the whole "Subaru" drama, all of us went back inside the house where Natalie sat on the chair next to the dining table with Ayato slouching on the chair with his feet up high on the table, Kira leaning against the wall, and I just sat down next to Natalie while nonchalantly drinking a can of Mountain Dew.

I let out a sigh and down the soda can with a somewhat irritable look on my face.

"Ugh first those two fucking triplets came to our house unannounced, and now we have a white haired tsundere who just have a temper tantrum just now? Jeez, it's not like anything couldn't go POSSIBLY go wrong." I sarcastically stated with my chin slouching on the table with a foul expression.

"Oh come on, we were bored back there and I only came here cuz I don't want Laito to do something stupid, so why wouldn't we come here?" He bluntly retaliated with an annoyed look.

"You didn't even bother reminding us?" I asked skeptically.

"Um no, cuz ore-sama doesn't need to tell you guys that we're coming!" He retorted.

"Okay first of all, stop with the ore-sama crap. It's really annoying when you call yourself that." I advised him since I don't like it when he calls himself "ore-sama". That's just ugh no.

"You don't tell me what to do melons! I can will do whatever I want!" He rudely spat.

"Actually I do cuz one, you're in our house, two, stop calling me melons, and three, shut the fuck up you stupid tomato head." I bluntly retorted which had Natalie burst out of laughter, Kira didn't say anything but rolling her eyes, but Ayato didn't enjoy it as he frowns at my nickname for him.

"My head does not look like a tomato!" He exclaimed.

"Nah, but your hair does." I pointed it out with a smirk while Natalie is dying of laughter.

"It's so true! Hahahahaaa!!" She laughed hysterically as she slams the table with her fists. Kira, who was leaning against the wall this entire time, leaned forward with an aggravated sigh.

"I'm going to the bathroom." She grumbled as she marched through the kitchen with an irritable look and into the bathroom next to it.

"Damn she's way temperamental than Subaru." Ayato remarked.

"Yeah, but she's not as aggressive and hostile as Subaru is. She used to be super aggressive from before, but not anymore." Natalie stated.

"Huh?" He crooked his brows confusingly.

"Well back in middle school, she use to cause a lot of trouble and she's very hostile to other people. And that's when we started hanging out together. She was in a bad situation that rainy day when both me and Jamie saw her dad beating Kira up near the front entrance while we're driving home and Jamie's dad came to stop him. After that, Kira's Dad got arrested and she's now living with us. Plus she's less aggressive and cold than before, but she still smokes in a daily cuz of family problems." Natalie explained to her with a guilty expression.

"Yeah, it was quite hard to hear..." I agreed with her.

"Oh..." Ayato stated as he sat silently for a second before glancing at us.

"So how do you two guys met then? Along with chocolate bitch and mute bitch?" He bluntly asked, but I bonked him in the head with my fist.

"Don't call them that!" I shouted, but I took a deep breath and sighed softly.

"But yeah I'll tell ya. We all met during our freshman year in high school. The first girl I became friends with was Ayesha and...that was before I ran away from my family..." She muttered while gripping my hands together while remembering how my life was back then before everything went down. Joy, smiles, love, that's what I use to have. Now it's just emptiness and silence ever since my dad died from an accident. I had to deal with my mom marrying that pushy new husband of his whom I have to call him my "stepdad" and I said that very loosely. However, it's not that I hate him or anything, it's just...so sudden, how did my mom got over my dad that quickly? Why would she find another man after my dad died? Is she trying to replace him? Does she want me to forget about him? I don't know...and there's absolutely no way I'm going back there ever.

"Ah." He hums while stroking his head before he can respond to me.

"Is that so?" He asked while stroking his head.

"Yeah...but I'm fine living here with Ayesha. Hell, I even thanked both her and Jamie for finding me outside that night. I was quite happy that I have great friends like them." I told him with a grin.

"Great..." He responded with a hint of sarcasm and a slight of a bitterness tone that I noticed.

What's with the sour attitude?

I thought in my head until something hit me and I smack my forehead when I heard about his flashback in the Diabolik Lovers anime. He and his triplet brothers didn't have a great childhood. He was mistreated by his mom and she expects him to be "number one" cuz he's the oldest. Geez what's wrong with that lady? Not mentioned that she's a whore as well oh and do I forget to mention that she had sex with her YOUNGEST TRIPLET SON?! Ugh, that's fucking disgusting! What mom would do something like this?!? No wonder why they don't get along!

Natalie shift her eyes left and right when we both stood silently and she clears her throat to break the awkward silence with a sweet smile.

"Heeey Beth! Have you heard of these delicious mochi ice cream that I've been talking about recently?" She asked which had me and Ayato puzzled for a second.

"Ice cream what now?" Ayato baffled.

"Umm yeah?...Why?" I asked confusingly.

"Oh you see, the-" Soon our conversation got cut off when Kanato grabs her shoulder where she turns to see the purple haired vampire staring down at Natalie which had me feeling worried about her.

"Natalie, may I talk to you in private?" He asked politely which had me shaking deep down.

Oh god no, he's gonna suck her blood!

I thought as I was about to get that creepy vampire to leave, but I stopped when Natalie stood up from the chair with a slightly nervous but calm grin.

"Sure why not?" She sweetly replied, but I can tell she's faking it cuz the way she smiles. Kanato smiles back and took her hand.

"Then let's go." He said as she turns to me with a reassuring grin and puts a finger to her lips with a wink indicating me that she'll be fine. As soon as they teleported out of the kitchen, me and Ayato are left alone in the kitchen together. I scratched my head awkwardly while looking down for a minute before I get a chance to talk.

"Umm so-"

"Tell me Beth, what's your definition of a family?" He asked curiously which had me baffled for a moment when he said that.

He's using my real name now?

I thought curiously, but I shook my head lightly and I continue to look down at the floor.

"I don't know...I guess in my perspective, families are like a compass that guides us in life. They are an inspiration to reach great heights, and...our comfort for when we occasionally falter." I explain to him while staring down at the ground.

"Comfort huh?" He asked as I heard him putting his legs down onto the floor and felt him approaching me as I raise my head up to meet his emerald eyes.

"You said families are like compasses that guides us through life, but what happens if I told you that where I came from was the opposite of that?" He asked with a smirk which had me shaky a bit.

"Wha- Gah!" He quickly grabbed my wrist and twirl me around where he grip my wrist so tightly.

"Heh you look pretty weak there Beth." He chastised with a sadistic smirk while gripping my wrist.

"Fuck you!" I cursed at him as I lunge my elbow at him, but he blocked it and held my arm tightly as he chuckled mockingly.

"Don't bother trying cuz this is who I am most of my life. This is my way of handling things in life, just like my brothers! We've been like this since forever! And you said that families are comfort for us? Ha! Don't make me laugh! Our family's fucked up! You hear me?! That's the reason why we're like this! And I'll prove it to you." He stated as Ayato pulls my sleeve down exposing my left shoulder. I grimace when I felt his fingers touching my skin, it makes me want to puke, it makes my skin crawl. I never felt so disturbed in my whole life, but this is just...cruel...

"I'm going to mark you where you feel nothing, but pain!" He proclaimed as he attempts to insert his fangs on my neck, I grip my fists tightly while holding back the tears.

"Pain my ass!" I retorted as I stomp his feet with so much force that he finally let go of me. I turn around and punch his face as he crashed towards the chair. Soon Reiji and Jamie came out of the office room with Kira, Ayesha, Laito, Ayesha's grandmother, and Subaru dash from upstairs to see us fighting in the kitchen after the loud thud.

"What's going on-"

"Do you enjoy this?...Is this how you treat everyone?...Is this how you talk and treat women?! Using them as blood filled rag dolls and..threw them away like their fucking trash?!? Just like how you did to Yui?!?" I snarled while looking down at him with so much contempt and anger as I can felt tears coming down to my cheeks not caring if everyone in this room is there. Dumbfounded by what I said, Ayato got up from the ground without saying a word other then glaring at me.

"...Yui?...Yui?..That flat chested pancake?! What do you know about me?! What's your damn excuse?!? If that idiot weren't so defiant, if she weren't to go back to that other damn house, I wouldn't be this way!!" He snarled which had me shock including my friends and Reiji and Subaru. Baffled by what he said, Ayato grimace and glare down at the ground.

"Ugh screw this!!" He retorted as he walked pass me with an aggravated look on his face and left the house with a large slam from the door. After Ayato left, Shu and Chloe came into the kitchen with tired yet sleepy looks.

"Ugh why can't you people just be quiet?" He grumbled while stroking his blonde hair.

"Mmm...what happened here?" Chloe asked tiredly.

"...It's nothing..." I told them while looking at the floor with a conflicted look.

"Well that was unexpected..." Laito said with a bewildered look.

"Damn right, what the hell did you do to him Beth?" Kira asked curiously.

"I don't know! We were just talking and all of the sudden he started to attack me when I answered a question about family for him!" I explained to her.

"Wait, Ayato asked you a question about family?" Ayesha asked skeptically as she looks at me with disbelief.

"Yes, I'm not kidding." I reassured her.

"Bullshit, you just set him off when you mentioned her name!" Subaru bluntly retorted.

"Hey I didn't know it was going to trigger him! I thought he wouldn't care!!" I retaliated.

"Hey, hey let's not fight here. Besides, this isn't the good time to be doing it." Ayesha's grandmother reassured us. Jamie let out a sigh.

"I have to agree, for now let's all just relax. I think it's best is to give Ayato some space so he can cool down." Jamie suggested.

"I agree, and I have to speak with Ayato once he gets back after we arrived back home." He agreed.

"Yeah I'm fine with that..." I said feeling kinda guilty for what I've said to Ayato. I never knew that Yui would leave such a last impression on him...

Then I felt someone patting my shoulder when I turn my head to see Chloe comforting me.

"It's okay Beth, it's not your fault. You didn't know and we understand that. Just don't let it get to you kay?" She reassured me as I nod my head to her.

"Thanks Chlo." I thanked her.

"No problem." She grinned gently at me as I grin back, but I turn to the door with a worried look.

"So..when is he coming back?..." I asked curiously feeling concerned about him.

"Beats me." Shu shrugged.

"I don't know." Subaru replied as he looked at Kira for a second before he turns away when Kira noticed him staring at him. Irritated, she rolled her eyes and turns her head away without saying anything.

"Hmmm...depends on what time he'll be coming back." Laito told me. Reiji sighed and adjust his glasses.

"Boys these days...don't worry about him for now. He'll be back in the few minutes or so. Understood?" He reassured me.

"I guess..." I said with so much concern where my mind is swirling with questions.

Ayato...where are you right now?....

I thought curiously where this is such a painful night for me and everyone here.
